"You've kind of gotten into this late, haven't you?" a voice said from behind her. Unsurprisingly, she whirled. There was a man behind her, dressed in a white... tunic, apparently, and otherwise almost completely covered in bandages, side from his neck and head. His hair was dark, very neatly combed and he looked very, very serious, if not very angry. She hadn't even heard him arrive.
"Let me explain in brief. The man you see before you is a mild embodiment of evil, it would seem. He is capable of things you will not believe. As am I. We must defeat him. Follow?" he asked, his eyes tracing the girl standing back up and moving forward again.

For the second time in as many minutes, Schraeder stood and dusted himself off.
"I think I see where this is going," Schraeder said, "and at the risk of sounding a bit rude, I think I'll opt out of either side until I know more clearly what's going on. I'd hate to accidentally throw in with you, only to find that we're to be defeated, or you're a bad guy. You understand."
With that, Schraeder went to the bar and poured himself more Scotch, watching the fight as it unfolded.

Adela raised an eyebrow. "Okay. So he's evil and strong. And you're saying we've," she referred to themselves, "got to defeat him. I'm not exactly warrior material here, ya know." She wasn't about to risk her life over something that she had no idea in - she liked her life! "How do I even know you're telling the truth?" Aaaand right about now, she started to back up. For all she knew, this serious person was evil too.

The man stared past Adela at Schraeder. "With what he said, you'll find out precisely why I say he's evil," the man told her. A shadow appeared at his feet. It was not a natural shadow. It blossomed, exploded upwards - a hilt appeared first, then a handle, then a blade, and soon standing on its tip before him was a brilliant, gleaming blade. It seemed to shift in color based on how the light reflected off of it.
"Please stand back, this is going to get nasty," he told Adela, grabbing the sword and taking a few steps forward. She noticed he didn't have any shoes on, just bandages. Odd.

The girl charged The Thief again, an enraged roar erupting from her mouth.
"Oh, I under-" The Thief began, then stopped when Schraeder said "bad guy". He twitched. Energy lances slammed forward at his chest; The Thief deflected them with his knife and flipped the girl over his head.
"Did you call me a bad guy?" he asked to no one in particular. "Did you accuse me of evil?" His eye twitched. Then he twitched. The very serious man twitched as well, and suddenly there was a hideous scrape of metal. The sword in the serious man's hand was all that stood between Schraeder and The Thief. The Thief's eyes had grown wide; his face desparate.
"EVIL?!" he roared. "You don't even KNOW what evil is, you can't even comprehend!" The serious man struggled to hold back The Thief as the girl was casually kicked away yet again.
"Lizzie!" the Very Serious Man shouted. "Get the others instead of hurting yourself!" She growled, but backed off, moving away towards one of the other strike sites.

"Actually," Schraeder shot back, "I did not. I was merely speculating on possibilities." He took another calm sip.

Adela walked over to where Schraeder was. "...I think I'm gonna want some of that Scotch." She poured herself some and took a big swig. This is straight out of a comic or cartoon. I must be in a dream. This has to be a really weird and realistic dream. She watched the fight go on. If it was a dream, then she might as well enjoy the scene.

The bartender was long gone; there was no one to stop them.
Someone else joined the fray. A man burst up from within the ground; his clothing was more similar to the Thief's undershirt, his pants loose and denim as Lizzie's. In one hand he was holding what appeared to be a mace made of solid stone; on the other was affixed a solid rock, apparently functioning as a shield. Even his hands were covered in rock, somehow flexible. His hair was pure white and tousled; his expression was of one who had just woken up. He seemed to leap from the exploding ground, and proceeded to attempt clobber The Thief over the head. It didn't work; he was blocked by the knife. It was impossible to say how the knife held. It did, however, give Very Serious Man a chance to strike out with his blade, and The Thief jumped straight up into the air in order to avoid their attacks.
From somewhere else, Mike Felt was arriving; he was crouching behind the bar now, apparently returned from the fireworks show.
"Good god!" he cried to Adela and Schraeder. "Get back here, it's not safe up there! Aw, my family's in the house!" he shouted with sudden realization. "Guys, you gotta help me!" It became apparent that the house next door had lit Mike's house on fire. Immediate action was going to be required.

Without another word, Schraeder took off for the house, with the intent of rescuing the Felt family.
Upon arriving, he entered the house and said, "Felts! Felt family, the house is burning! We need to get out; where are you?"

Adela sighed. "Even if it is a dream, I don't want the dream versions of the Felt family to die." Before running after Schraeder, she got behind the bar and dumped water on top of herself. Good thing I'm not wearing a white shirt, eh? "I don't want to be dream burnt." After completely soaked with water, she ran to the burning building and entered it with the intention of finding the family.

The house was clearly on fire, but the fire hadn't reached them yet. It sounded like there were people upstairs.
Very Serious Man went flying through a wall, stood up, retrieved his sword from the ground, and exited the building again. This, dream or not, was a bad one.

"You check down here," Schraeder said to Adela. He headed up the stairs, calling out as he went.

She listened to Schraeder and began checking the lower level of the house. "Is anyone here?" She continued to call out and search for people until she was sure that no one was indeed on that level of the house. After that, she started heading up the stairs to help Schraeder.

((Sorry for slow postage. Computer malfunctioning. Bleh.))
Lisha watched all of this happen silently. How weird....But its cool. At least I'm not bored. Closing her eyes for a moment, Lisha reopened them. Oh. I should go help. Running after them, she had a weird, and probably not true, feeling that the Felts weren't in there. But of course they were. Glancing back, she wondered if she should try to stop the fighting. Maybe later. She was just a weak human right now. And always would be. Sighing, she didn't give a backward glance.

Adela found Shcraeder upstairs and said, "There was nobody downstairs. If anyone is here, they're gonna be on this level." She looked around, but she didn't see anyone.
