Well....
Melody fidgets uncomfortably.
Strawberry pie...
But other than that, she doesn't really cling to things from her childhood.

Rika blinks... then smiles, her expression betraying a hint of more melancholy emotion.
Well, Rika is glad for her. Melody has her caring father, and that is a blessing.

...And, Melody adds, almost as an afterthought, there's Great-Grandpa Setsushi, too. Though that's kind of different since aside from looking like Tsukiba and Daddy saying they're both the Death, he's still pretty different.

... Though it still seems unclear whether her original wince was at 'the Death' or at the 'Great-Grandpa.'
He's not that old...

Well, it was Grandpa for a while, but then it kind of dawned on Melody and Daddy that if Tsukiba was Daddy Tsukiba and Grandma June was Mom...
It was a little easier to add that extra generation in there, Melody thinks. Especially since Auntie Yousei was Tsukiba's REAL granddaughter. 3nodding

... ... ... But, and Rika does hope that Melody will forgive her if this is rude, she still cannot help thinking that even if Setsushi resembles this Grandpa... it makes about as much sense to call Setsushi by such a term as it would for Melody to call Rika her brother?

Well, if that error of categorization bothers Melody, why does it not bother her to call a young maiden 'great-grandpa'?
Rika cannot help but think that, as much as 'the Death' wounds him for painting him as a demon, 'great-grandpa' might wound him for grouping him together with withered old men who are regarded by young ladies as teachers and guardians but not as desirable and lively husbands.

Melody scratches the side of her face, brow furrowing once again.
Probably because Tsukiba wasn't that old, either. Or maybe he was, but he never did look it. But back then, things were kind of odd... Porcelain grew so fast, then grew again, and even Aunt Luna-- who is actually YOUNGER than Melody-- is a grown woman with a teenage daughter and Melody and Daddy are only two months or so apart in age, and Uncle Silver and Aunt Amena were all older than Daddy and Grandma June's a grandmother in her twenties.

... But a discussion of aging is moot as to be a great-grandpa one must have married, and therefore no longer be available.
If Setsushi really did not care if he were perceived that way, he would not still wear his hair long.

Well, Rika is Rika, and she cannot speak for Setsushi, she admits, leaning back and adjusting her monocle.

But still... Melody thinks on the culture gap. She wonders what it must have been like to grow up in a society of Porcelain. Even Daddy and Mother and Uncle Silver and Aunt Amena and Auntie Nusumu and Auntie Yousei and Uncle Grumpy, who were all brought to Gaia, were born into a world of humans.

Rika supposes it bothers her a little bit; she would like to think that Setsushi is not of such a different generation from hers... ... ...
But yes, Rika has heard various stories of that place, collected from the Gaian Porcelain and then reported to her by Setsushi. Rika is not quite sure what to make of these reports yet, honestly... She will have to contemplate them some more. She has some theories, but...
