Uncle Canas

User Image

Canas' Hands worked through the air, and the Tome floated in front of him, as he no longer touched it. it was as if a second pair of hands took hold as he completed the motions. As the strongest spell in his arsenal, it took quite some time to conjure the spiritual energy. His eyes turned from its soft purple, to a crisp Indigo, as his pupils took to slitted blades of the deepest black. The gashes in air grew, as the power and nature of the spell itself grew to unsurmountable odds. This was the true power of Elder Magic, the thing that the people of Elibe feared. It was nothing compared to Bramimonds "Apocalypse", but it was the second closest thing to it, and the second strongest of all magics and weapons aside rom the ones held by legends. He released the spell as it crashed upon the oncoming tide of Morphs, shreding them through time and space, leaving nothing that got in its path living. Those golden eyes, those heartless golden eyes...

Three hundred and eighty morphs had spread out through the forest. These were the most basic of homunculi: they needed neither food nor sleep, they were free of vice, emotion, and personality. Their faces were all basically similar, all completely devoid of feeling. They only knew orders and following them.

After interpreting Mika's orders, they had split into three factions and spread out through the woods, in order to better work as groups.

The particular group attacking the collection of FEFers was made up of two well-balanced scout groups, each made up of twenty morphs. They had converged from both sides, and as the first group charged in from the left, roaring a war cry, morphs poured out of the trees behind the group.

The units that had been spotted earlier misled. They ran out first, but were soon joined by sages, paladins, nomad troopers, and terrifyingly enough, berserkers.

With FEF flanked between them, both sides charged.

Berserkers were actually a favored opponent in Jin's eyes. Yes, they were scary to behold. Yes, they could kill in a single blow. But the thing was, if you used swords and didn't panic, berserkers weren't that tough.

The fact that they all looked the same (not to mention the black hair and golden eyes) was enough for the Shadow Priest to know who was the enemy. Oh, yes. He'd seen their kind in the past. He'd just hoped that chapter of his life wouldn't have to repeat itself, since, well... morphs were the biggest reason he was in Learania today.

But enough "blah blah blah backstory", there was work to do! Quick footwork put Jin at a right angle with the forward scout group, charging in on their right flank. Unseen thanks to the darkness in the trees, he leapt forward, his stiletto giving a neat SLICE through the neck of a berserker on the far right. As the morph's body began to dissipate from the killing blow, Jin kicked back off from the crumpling body back into the shade of the trees, darting this way and that, waiting for another strike.

Shinon was strangely slumbering in the trees of the forest when he heard the sounds of footsteps coming towards him. Shinon yawns and looks towards the sounds and sees a roaring group of morphs running his way below the trees.

"Ugh, so many, time to pick them off." Shinon retrieved his bow and started shooting morphs in the head, heart, spine, and in between armor to kill them.

"So easy this is, I hope there might be some reinforcments to finish them off though," Shinon muttered as he shot 10 more.

Shinon ran out of arrows in his first quiver and started for his second.
"I wonder why they never noticed me hiding in the trees?"

"Ugh..." After fighting just a few of them... and watching the stronger ones converge, Leon was starting to grow concerned for their numbers against the enemies. If only there were messengers here to call backup, but those cowards all left! What was he to do? Well, there was only one option when surrounded. Fight it out. You weren't escaping. "I'll 'old 'em off 'til the bitter end." He declared, still gripping his poleaxe rather firmly despite his exhaustion.

One of the Paladins came rushing at him, going blow-for-blow with his poleaxe... only as a human, the watchman was starting to tire out.

Sue in the meantime was struggling to keep the Morphs off Ninian, firing arrows and using her Killing Edge when necessary. She didn't want to use Myulgre... not yet. Her sacred birthright was for a battle of a larger scale. But still, if she tired out here...

Just on the outside, there was something plowing through the Morphs, no matter if they were the fearsome promotes or the unpromoted scouts.l It was barreling through at a rapid pace and showed no signs of slowing.

The momentum of that 'force' was relentless. Nothing could get in its way, nothing. If one stood in front of it, they better run quick, or they'd just get trampled.

Meanwhile, Leon's battle with the other morphs continued. He'd managed to back off and send the enemy Paladin right off its horse with a mighty swing, but that was using up all the energy he had left in his reserves. The Lieutenant was close to running on empty.

Sue was too reaching her limits. She pulled an elixir off her belt... her second drink to energize. She took careful aim, but it seemed like her arrows were enough for now to hold them off.

All seemed lost as snipers pointed arrows at the group from all directions.

That is until the whole line of them on the east side went crumbling, and the trampling force finally revealed itself as a fully armored tank of a war horse.

"Anri!" Leon called out, recognizing his battle partner and mount almost immediately before taking a short breath. He too drank a bit of Elixir... and felt re energized. Alive. Now on his faithful and loyal steed... Leon begun to charge ever forward and risk everything for the sake of his comrades behind him... poleaxe swinging left and right in a constant rhythmic motion.

Sue was relieved the mount came to the rescue... but she knew there was need for reinforcements. For now though, they'd have to survive...

Having made their way to the forest, FD and had seen the morphs spawn out of FEFGA's Manor... heading for the forest they had hidden themselves in on their way to Eyris - surely to do whatever bad things evil minions did. "I can't fight well in a forest without being liable to burn it all down - we'll have to make our way back to the town" FD said, already moving.

As they reached the back-side of Eyris through the woods, FD transformed into the Fire Dragon he was. Morphs had already reached the town, however - but it really didn't matter where they were now that Fire Dragon was out of forest. He unleashed his Flametongue, incinerating all that stood in its line of fire to into oblivion.

Nino ran next to Sue to help protect Ninian. "Hey!" She said as she shot off elfire, reducing another morph to cinders. "There's a lot of them! I wish I had a heal staff..." She said. She looked over at Leon and gave him a smile. She'd talk to him later, since she hadn't seen him before.

She was beginning to get really tired, really fast. "We need help..." She said, breathless.

Shinon was watching from the trees and saw that there were also snipers in the trees. Shinon jumped through the trees and he shoot arrows at the morph snipers.
"So many...... I'm going to run out of arrows at this rate........ "
Shinon looked a bit ahead and he saw Leon, Anri, Sue, and some other's fighting the morphs.
"I better get more supplies and help them......"
Shinon jumped through the trees went around the battle and went behind his allies. He called out to someone, "Hello! Friend I'm here to help!"

Sister Victoria

PostPosted: Wed Jun 10, 2009 5:03 pm

Victoria had come too, right on the Fire Dragon's back to keep up with his mobility. She knew what was a good idea, as her allies did look a little strained already. She held up the staff with the ruby jewel and chanted the large healing spell once again. "Fortify!" She finished the chant.

With the muttering of the last word, the large light of the bishop's staff covered the entire troupe of fighters.... leaving their exhaustion in the dust.

A rage-filled Valter noticed the new morphs coming, but instead of becoming disheartened, he was ecstatic. To the warrior, they were all just targets to destroy. With each one he killed, he felt a burst of joy. He was avenging his wyvern.

Suddenly, however, he felt something else. It was sharp and burning. This was... pain? Valter gave a menacing cry as he thrust his lance at his opponent yet again, only to have it smacked aside. What is this?!, he thought to himself. Why can't I hit?!?! Then he realized what was happening. His opponent was a berserker. His lance put him at a disadvantage, he figured. You've faced worse than this before! You're The Moonstone! Grado's finest general! Suddenly, with a great burst of energy, Valter thrust at his adversary, but pulled back before the enemy could deflect the blow. Suddenly, he spun around behind the berserker and thrust his lance straight into where the monster's heart should have been. The beast of a Morph collapsed, and Valter wiped the sweat off of his brow.

While his rider was battling the Morphs, Kain decided that he should help. He sprung into the air and spread his wings, but only succeeded in pummeling down a few feet ahead. Wounded and ashamed, Kain regretfully admitted to himself that he was useless at the moment. When he noticed the second group of Morphs, he knew he'd be killed if he stayed where he was. So he crawled nito the forest as quickly as he could, trying his best to remain out of sight.

He could hardly bear to watch Valter fight all by himself. Every time his partner was given a wound, the wyvern shuddered as if he felt exactly what his rider did. Despite his misery, he watched on. He felt like it was the least he could do.

Following right behind both Victoria and Fire Dragon was Ziaram, his killing edge ready. "Sorry I left you Victoria, yet I'm ready now. Any idea how many are here?" Looking out towards the morphs.

They couldn't keep this up for forever, and Ninian harbored no hope for reinforcements. She did the only thing she could--dance. Her mind was numb, her body moving on its own as she danced for Oujay and Sue. And then a thought broke through the numbness--she had the rings. In midstep she glanced at her hands--yes, all four were there, safe and secure!

She jerked around in a sharp turn, letting her fingers brush one gently, Filla's Might. A step to the left, and with a twirl of her scarf, Canas was surrounded by the glowing lights, strengthening his spells.

Warmth spread through her--a bishop had appeared, staff in hand. Resuming her steps, Ninian let the others concentrate on destroying the morph army. She would support them as best she could.

Shinon watched the battle and saw Valter's wyvern crawling into the forest, he walked towards the wyvern and pulled out a concoction. He noticed that the beast had an arrow sticking out of his chest. He knelt by the wyvern.
"It's ok I'm going to try and help you please hold still, but this is really going to hurt."

Jin darted about in the undergrowth, making sure the thickets and trees were very much so unsafe for morphkind. Snipers were climbing the trees for better angles at which to shoot, but to do so meant leaving their backs open to attack--Jin was thankful for this. All they ever generally heard was a rustling noise, then felt a stiletto SLICE through the neck, then nothing more.

But they were organized, and climbing more quickly than Jin could dispatch them. Some of them made it up the branches, becoming quickly aware of a sizeable lack of comrades. One pointed at a shade of black slightly different than its surroundings, and seconds later, Jin was running back through the trees, arrows piercing the trees behind him.

He found his way back to the remaining group, panting, somewhere off to the left. He bent over in the universal gesture for "I got tired from running". He wasn't THAT tired, but he needed to show he wasn't their enemy.

"H-hey... Mind me joining on your side?" he asked anyone who would listen.

It had been FAR too long since Fire Dragon had been able to release the tension that had built up in him from remaining in his substitute form for such a long period of time. And with Victoria and Nils already upon his back, he didn't need to worry about covering them - he would express himself the way dragons were able to in battle: in a manner that makes one's enemies fear a Scouring. There still remained a plethora of of morphs seperating his group from the FEFers taking up arms against the army of morphs, among them Nils' sister. Fire Dragon unleashed another Flametongue to scathe the morphs separating the two groups as he made his way towards them whilst doubling as a mount for the Bard and the Bishop. He wondered if there were any in the group he was approaching had seen a Dragon before, or if they might mistake him for a third-party enemy. There were also those who had united against him back on the Dread Isle - although the circumstances there couldn't have been more different. All the same, with both Nils an Victoria atop him, he assumed his approach would be welcomed. Besides, a number of them knew his story and circumstances well enough to know he was their ally
