A huge smile spread across Leith's face when she looked the man infront of her up and down; a beautiful smile that was gravational even in the almost nonexistant light. His tattoos, his hair, his clothes, his obvious excitement for her, he was from her islands.
"Are you," she paused, her heart fluttering with hope, her voice was soft and sweet, innoscent almost, "Are you from the Sarrakon islands?"

Lucien couldn't help but laugh. "Love at first sight already? You don't get humor like this on the city." He walked into the ocean in front of him stretching his arms.

Mike slouched a little. Of course they'd be from the same island. Of course he was more good-looking than Mike. Of course she'd fall for him and not Mike. Rubbing his nose on his arm, he hopped from the boat, standing plenty distance from the islanders. He joined the male who accompanied the girl on the shore, his feet sinking about a foot into the wet sand.
"'Sup," he said. Mike tried folding his arms, but the sudden shot of pain made him unfold them just as quickly.
'What kinda girl wants a cripple anyway?'

"I'm from the fleet villages" he said his smile broadening "My name is Warakai" he said so happy to have met somebody from his half of the world. "This is Lucien and this is the guy who tried to steal my boat who's name I failed to get" he said gesturing to the other two.

'Warakai... Okay, now I know who he is.'
Mike glanced at the man called Lucien.
'Lucien...'
Mike didn't look over his shoulder, but was thinking, 'Then who's the babe?'
Mike heard Warakai addressing him. He stiffened, but continued to look out into the sea.
"It's Mike," he sniffed. "Sorry about the boat."
Then he thought, 'How come I'm the only one with a wierd name?'
He knew girls didn't like wierd names.

Lucien could only laugh. "Please, Mike is the most normal name out all of ours." He kept walking out on top of the water standing barely above the tide. He stretched his legs for a little bit more

((Alright, alright, Lena, I'll take your bait. >.<))
"I'm Leith; I've only been to your island once for some trading." She offered, but slyly did not give out too much information, she was still too wary of them. She glanced to Lecien, who had scared the salt out of her, and then her eyes fixed on the one who adressed himself as Mike; he had darker blonde hair than she did and it was cut short, but it looked good on him. She saw bruising on his face , through it though, she saw that he was handsome, and the terribly swollen and broken arm. She winced, her smile fading and worry lines taking its place. Leith absentmindedly stepped toward Mike to take a closer look at his wounds. She let her warm fingers lightly trace the large goose-egg on his forehead as she asked honestly, "What happened to give you so many bruises and brakes?"

Mike froze. His head slowly turned to Lucien.
"What did you just say?" Mike asked, squinting at him.
'Did I just have my mind read or an I literally thinking out loud now?'
He waited for an answer, but that was interrupted by Leith's voice.
"What happened to give you so many bruises and brakes?"
Mike jumped a little, facing Leith.
"Oh, uh... w-well..."
'I fell down a cliff at 100 miles per hour and blacked out for half a day.'
Yeah, some turn on. Very impressive indeed.
"Uh-uhm... I had some trouble with the... the guards... before I got here..." Mike stuttered, biting his lip.
"I-its nothing, really."
Now he wanted her to go away. It was so embarrassing. And she was so pretty. And he was such a liar.
He really wanted to steal Warakai's boat now.

"You did?! They must have been brutal! Did they peg you with rocks or soemthing, some of these scrapes look like something sharp did them. How did you get away?" Leith gasped as she let him have his space when she felt him getting uneasy. She glanced to Warakai to let him know she still knew he was there and then back to Mike as she tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear delicately.
((Meh, haven't really decided. But it is in her nature to care for the weak or wounded....But Mike needed some attention, the poor tortured soul. Peace out for the night.))

Lucien was in a good mood tonight. He couldn't stop laughing. The night just had such an affinity for him. In his language, it was called Gekka no Yasoukyoku, the nocturne of the moonlight. He looked up. Even though it was covered he could still make out the glowing silhouette of the white moon, even under all the thick smog. He laughed. "What a beautiful moonlight we have tonight. Even under the oppression of the clouds, it dares not surrender its light."
He took another step forward and walked on top of the black shadows created by the clouds.

Warakai chuckled to himself, he had seen those wounds none of which were very clean it was obvious guards weren't involved. But rather than say anything Warakai pushed back his hair and fell backwards into the sand with a thud. "it is a truly beautiful night despite the hell we experience it from" he said closing his eyes.

Mike's face turned red. He hated lying. There was more to remember. He waved his arm, "Yeah, rocks. I just ran around the city a while and lost 'em, then came back to the coast and..." Mike cleared his throat. "It's nothing."
He heard Leith step away. Mike clamped his eyes shut, kicking himself. He sighed, then noticed Lucien walking away.
'Where's he goin'?' Mike wondered, but then dismissed that thought. He didn't care. Then he heard a plop behind him. Warakai lay in the sand, staring up into the sky, saying something to Lucien. Mike sighed.
He just wanted to get out of this place. It brought him bad luck. It also brought him no luck with girls.
"Wally, Whirly... whatever your name is, I'll help you with your sail." Mike said as he clambered into the small boat again, leaving the shaman and Leith alone to chat. "We'll leave in the morning, I guess... Unless you plan on leavin' tonight." Mike wiped his nose. He noticed his city accent sounded a little wierd, being around these fancy islanders and the... well, that Lucien guy. He shook his head, then dug around in his pack for something to eat. In fact, the majority of his things was some sort of food.
Food was great. And it was meant to be shared. Mike asked,
"Anyone hungry?"

Lucien shook his head. "No thanks I've already eaten." He sat down on the shadows cast by the clouds as though they had been solid ground.

"Suit yourself."
Mike, carefully putting on his leather jacket, stared up at the sky. It was a beautiful night.
Popping open a small bag of jerky, Mike pulled out a piece and started chewing on it. He noticed he could've just torn it open where it said 'tear here'. He just kept making mistake after mistake today. Mike hung his head in his good hand, letting his elbow do all its balancing on his leg. Swallowing the piece of jerky, Mike started to feel twangs of pain and aches in his legs and arms. Taking out a herb from his pocket, he examined it. Then, taking out a stick of jerky, wrapped the herb around it.
'Cattle in a blanket?' He popped it in his mouth, his taste buds screaming at the sourness of the leaf. At least the meat softened the blow and didn't taste too bad.
Mike took his gaze to the sky again, and wrapped his arms around himself. It was freezing. Mike didn't like freezing. He could easily make a fire by himself, if he created some friction in his hands to create some sort of warmth. But he'd already caused one scene too many today. He'd go and make a fire traditionally. Mike took the piece of driftwood he'd found earlier and tossed it from the boat. Hopping out (and still clutching his bag of jerky), set out to find something else to burn, like some weeds or grass or something.
"Be right back," He informed everyone who cared. Right now, he felt so inferior to them. After all, they hadn't done anything wrong or murderous today.

Warakai laid back enjoying the feeling the sand beneath him ignoring the fouled air and the stench of the city instead focusing on the slight tang of the sea that hung subtly in the air. He quickly jumped up and climbed into his boat retrieving his sail from its hiding place a huge tear straight down the middle he unraveled the canvas and set to work making the repairs so it would be ready to put back up when Mike returned from whatever he was doing.
