"There's no way for me to be 100% sure... Tends to vary with biology and such." The teen answered. "Usually about 15 minutes, give or take."

Which was enough for them to at least get a comfortable lead.

"Not bad," he surmised, and left off speaking after that. Fifteen minutes should be plenty, assuming that had been the only guard after them. He hoped it was, though he was sure they'd run into more sooner or later.

For now, they just needed to keep moving until they got farther along this stretch of woods, and figure out where would be best to go next.

At a fork in the path up ahead of the Fa'e, a courting couple walked, enjoying the early evening. The pair looked to be in their mid-teens. The girl was a year or two younger than the boy and had her arm bound up in a sling. She walked slowly, as if the arm wasn't her only injury. The young man occasionally helped her when the path became uneven.

When Sei spotted movement once more up ahead, he have a quick tap to Mik's shoulder to catch his attention, and started to walk off the path. If they swerved just a little bit off, the darkness would most likely hide them as long as they stayed mostly silent.

Beside, it looked like they where getting to a fork, at any rate, and would need to decide on something. An inquisitive glance from his companion would let the angel know that it would probably be up to him to decide again.

...oh no, that was bad! Not that it couldn't have been worse, like another guard or something, but running into anyone was definitely something they didn't want. Mik was quick to heed Sei's warning and get off the path - and not just off the path, but tucked into the woods they'd been skirting.

He was not taking any chances this time.

The Fa'e were lucky with this couple; the path here was not very well kept. There were several dips and places where the bricks had shifted up, making places where it would be easy to trip. The young man's attention was on the girl and all of her's was on the path. "Maybe we should go back and take the other way," the boy suggested.

"No, it's alright. It's the easiest way home and you're here to help me," the girl replied. Their conversation ebbed away as they passed Mik and Sei, never noticing them.

Whew.

It was only when the voices had completely faded from his hearing that he dared to speak. "Which way from here, then ? There was a fork a bit further ahead where they came from, I think."

There was only one problem, which occurred to Mikhail just as the couple went past - the guard they had left behind. If they noticed him, they were going to have problems all over again. If only they'd hidden him! It had occurred to Mik briefly, but he'd been worried about taking the time to do it. Now he was wishing they had.

As soon as the couple was a safe distance away, they needed to get going again...but this time, there wouldn't be any trees to hide them. There really was no other option than to cross a long open space, and with the way Sei ran, that worried him. He could see what looked to be a much smaller patch of trees, uncomfortably far away, and it seemed to be the only choice.

"That way," he answered, pointing. Fork in the path where the couple had come from or no, he wasn't comfortable with staying on it when there didn't seem to be any cover to be had. His mind made up on the matter, he ran for it.

Running across the open area put Mik just within sight of a gathering by a wall-gate. A group of off-duty servants were having a small celebration amid the well lit buildings. The stretch of space between the two sections of trees was almost empty, a few bushes in the grassy area and most of them by the buildings.

The woods Mik had spotted were more of a stand of fruit trees. They would give cover, but nowhere near as much as the dense pines the Fa'e were in earlier.

There was some sort of gate in front of them, it seemed. A wall-gate. Which meant both good things and bad things.

The potentially good was that they hopefully where heading in the right direction.

The bad, however, was that there was likely more guards here. Dealing with one could have gone worse - but who the heck knew how many where inside, or nearby...

The fa'e did his best to follow Mik, slightly more careful as he did not have the advantage of speed - not hesitating to fall back a little more to benefit from more shade to cloak his movement, calculating risks and possible outcome nearly on the fly. He should have brought his hoverboard, as he was really starting to feel like a rock next to his companion...

...No, that would have made way too much noise. Damnit.

Mikhail noticed the lights in that direction, and the grouping of figures, but there was nothing to be done for it now...even if they'd kept to the path, they probably would have ended up in sight of it. He didn't waste any time second-guessing himself, just kept running. He knew by now that Sei would fall behind him, and he let it happen. He didn't mean anything by it, he just figured that the sooner at least one of them could get out of the open, the better; and Sei had a much less conspicuous silhouette, anyway.

One of the revelers wandered out into the grass, weaving drunkenly. He stopped at a bush midway between the teens and off to the side. Swaying, he spotted Mik first and blinked rapidly at the angel. Something was off about that shape or he was drunker than he thought. "Hey, whe're you two runnin' off too?" he called to Mik, slurring his words.

Shiiiii-

Sei had ducked behind a tree further back, his first reflex being to go for his guns, but he stopped himself before shooting. From that angle, the flashes of lights would be all too visible for the rest, potentially alerting the rest of them...

...Though there was something seriously -wrong- with the way that man walked...

If he kept on following Mik, he would probably end up somewhere where the trees would allow him enough cover to shoot without it being too visible.

Through, maybe...

One orb detached itself from the rest, undoing the sheild and went rolling in the grass toward the man. If he was drunk like the blonde suspected, he might not think anything odd by an odd fall... Tripping on a rock, perhaps.

And it would, at least, buy the angel time.

s**t! This was bad - couldn't they catch a break already?! Figuring he'd be better off responding than not, he called back only loud enough for him to hear, "Stuff to do!" and bolted.
