- Headology: Esmeralda Weatherwax is one of the most powerful witches in the world, and has perfected the art of Seeming until it is almost supernatural. What she calls 'persicologee' is in fact one of her only weapons. Headology mostly relies on knowing things other people don't, a talent that Granny possesses in abundance.
- Borrowing: If she concentrates Granny can send her consciousness out of her body and cause it to enter the body of another living being, 'steering' them from within but not controlling them. She can maintain this state for up to three days at a time, during which time her body is unresponsive to any non-harmful physical stimuli and is in a near-death state, where the heart beats less than once a minute and her breathing is slowed to a thousandth of its normal rate. This has caused embarrassing misunderstandings in the past, and she now carries a small card with her for such occasions, printed with the words, I ATEN'T DEAD
- Magic: As an absolute last resort Granny will resort to using real magic in a fight. If she does this there is little hope for her opponent, as Granny has spent a lifetime perfecting her Art. While Granny has been of too much service to th World Government to warrant a bounty, and is never openly aggressive towards them, her magic alone could warrant her a bounty of several hundred million Beli.

P e r s o n a l i t y : Competitive, impulsive, stubborn, ambitious, has a glare that can cause a grown Grizzly to widdle itself in fear, but is still a 'good' witch, if only because no-one dares say otherwise.

Chapter I

Esmeralda Weatherwax was born to Hughnon Weatherwax and Aliss Garlick-Weatherwax on a small island in the North Blue known as Lancre. She grew up learning magic and other things from her mother, who eventually left the island and supposedly died in the Grand Line after acquiring the nickname 'Black Aliss' and going to what witches generally refer to as 'the bad.' Esme's younger sister, Alysson, left home early and was never heard from again, and her father died from being struck by lightning. After that she spent most of her time learning more 'headology' and being the unofficial midwife, undertaker, physician, and all-around general 'go-to-this-person-to-find-out-what-that-red-lump-is' person. She's recently taken to visiting nearby islands, and is in fact thinking of travelling to the Grand Line.

Olo't'seyo is an unknown quantity. He was present on his island when Lamia, the only other inhabitant of the island, came there over fifteen years ago. She was young, and he took her in and helped her survive, speaking to her in his own tongue and earning hers until they both understood each other perfectly. His knowledge of plants and animals is unrivaled, and he appears perfectly adapted for living in any sort of environment. The few times visitors have come to the island he has stayed out of sight, his tall form disconcerting to humans.

Despite his amazing abilities, strange form, and abnormal features, Olo't'seyo is not a human Devil Fruit user. He swims with unnatural speed, and cannot change form from his normal blue-skinned semi-feline form. It is interesting to note that while he bears many human traits, one thing about him is decidedly inhuman: The braid that starts at the base of his skull sheathes a bundle of flexible nerves that can connect with the nervous system of any other living being. He has never used this on another sentient, and it requires consent from both parties to function.
