Awww lucky, you get playing tests to determine that? My band is pretty biased. I'm pretty sure the grade 12s and 11s will automatically get 1st, and all the grade 10s will be stuck with 2nd. Even though I could probably get 1st with a test, I'll get auto-seconded.
I joined band three months late last year, so I got auto-seconded. (I was mad about the biased, but its my fault, I joined late)
But with the next handout of songs, I was moved up to first, I guess the BD realized that I should have been first. xP

I'm second trombone put of three (2 are seniors, and i'm freshmeat) until our baritone gets his valve trombone. gonk

They changed up our band. It used to be 10, 11, and 12, and a 9 band, but there weren't enough grade 9s so they changed it to 9,10 and 11,12.
So I'm first chair in concert band and second in jazz band, (But I'm one of the only grade 10s in senior jazz) smile
