Ziazan yawned, stretched, and promptly went back to sleep, lazy little fatty that it was.
Faolan nodded to her. "I'm pretty awake without the coffee, love, but thanks for the offer. You know . . . you could just change in here." He grinned at her, all playfulness having returned.

Ellandra blushed and floundered for just a moment, before quickly regathering herself and sticking her tongue out at Faolan. "L-later, maybe. Th-there's an absolute minimum of a 72-hour limit before changing observation is permissable." Then she grinned at him and went to the bathroom, locking the door behind her while she changed.

Only 72 hours? Hell, Fao figured he could wait that out. He got up, scooping Zia up and took it with him as he wandered to the kitchen to find something to nibble on, leaving his shirt, jacket, and boots in the bedroom. After some searching about, he managed to find the fixings to cook eggs and pancakes, then proceeded to do just that, wanting to surprise Ellandra with breakfast.

It took Ellandra a little while to clean up properly, as brushing her hair took a great deal of time, but eventually she finished and left the bathroom - fully changed, of course - twhereupon she saw Faolan cooking breakfast.
"O-oh!"

Fao gave a sheepish grin, setting the plates of food down on the table. "Um, surprise? I'm not the best cook, but I wanted to do something nice for you."

Ellandra smiled softly. "Y-you're already doing more for me th-than you know. . . . but thank you," she said, walking over to him and standing on tiptoe to peck him on the cheek - it was about all that she could summon up her courage for on her own, but it was a step foreward nonetheless.

"Hold off on the thank-yous till after you taste it. You might change your mind," Fao chuckled, leaning down to let her kiss him easier. He moved to hold a chair out for her to sit in. After all, he did have some manners--he was raised in a carnival, not a barn.

Ellandra giggled again. "I'm sure it's n-not that bad," she said, taking a seat - and looking up at Faolan with a bit of a cross look on her face. "Oh, drat - now I'm terribly shorter than you! As if my height wasn't bad enough already. . ."

"When we lie down, we're the same height," Fao said softly, rubbing her shoulders a bit before going to sit down in his own chair. He watched her, golden eyes sparkling a little with curiosity, to see her reaction to his cooking.

Ellandra ate the eggs calmly, smiling at Faolan now and then - they weren't five star restaurant quality, but they weren't bad at all. "Y-you're going to eat too, aren't you?" She asked after several moments, looking him over worriedly.
Did his attackss decrease his appetite or was he just wanting to watch her for some reason?

Fao was slightly distracted that she liked his cooking. "Hm? Oh. Yeah, I was just thinking." He dug into his own breakfast. "We'll have some time after we eat before I have to be back. I thought you might like to show me around your neighborhood a bit, then we can get lunch, and go back to the carnival."

"There's r-really nothing to see around here. . . .it's . . . it's very dull. Very secluded. I can't even adopt the stray cat that hangs a-around here be-because of th-the policy on these apartments. . . s-so I j-just feed him i-instead." She bit her lip and brushed some hair out of her eyes. looking around at the interior of her boring apartment in her dull neighborhood. . .
Before, dull and safe were the same thing to her. . . but apparently they weren't and she was only just now becoming aware of it. "I - I spend most of my time w-wandering around the city. . . I - I used to do it for ideas, b-but. . . I'm n-not sure if writing is - is all I want to do any more. . ."

"I like your neighborhood. It's quiet and peaceful. Sometimes that's a blessing," Fao said a bit wistfully. Truth was, he didn't mind not having the bustle of the carnival around him at the moment.
He looked at her when she spoke again. "What is it you do want from life then, Elle?"

Ellandra hesitated, and sighed. "I . . .. don't really know," she admitted, looking down at her half-empty plate, an ashamed blush decorating her face. "I just d-don't know... S-sorry...."

"Why apologize for not knowing? Most people don't know what they want in life. You think I always saw myself as a fortune teller? My dad thought it would be an easy career for me because of my heart. I'm not even sure I want to be in the carnival some days." He reached over and took her hand in his, trying to comfort her.
