My band is half immature slackers, and the other half is the one with the talent. This is my band: Flutes: quiet in class, but have a big personality! Clarinets: some popular, others just quiet and invisible! Saxophonist: No talent (no offense to who I am pertaining to), a show off, plays good but a slacker, quiet player, popular kid, then me(1st chair)! trombones: big personality! tuba: immature slacker! percussion: mostly slakcers that dont care about anything! Trupmets: Half quiet half loud! Bassoon: has talent!

Well, I play flute and people say "Don't yell at us, yell at them! They never have the right angle!" It's hard. And it's not how strong you are, it's actually the direction the air flows out of your mouth. But here:
Flutes: the best >< Clarinets: talkers. Saxes: the worst, i'm sorry. trumpets: omg, so loud. trombones: don't care. tuba: one doesn't want to be there, the other you can't even tell. percussion: stfuuuu.

I have played trumpet for 4.5yrs (1st/2nd/3rd chair) and I have so far been the only female in my classes, no matter the school. A good many of them are really loud with somewhat big egos and a good many of them cannot play (save 2 or 3 people) like what their stereotype is. What the wierd thing is, is that I am the complete opposite of the stereotype, a quiet introvert who plays very quietly usually. Sometimes when they get real bad, my BD will look at me, all exasperated-like, and say something along the lines of "How do you put up with this crap?!" But the only reason I am a trumpet player is because I started out one to eventually transfer to french horn, which I already have done n_n. The only others I have seen are at concerts and all-county band (which means you cant really hear me at all in normal band lol) .... and we are all unique, yet somehow alike o.o we are a hard bunch to figure out though >.> And the thing about flutes is that I always thought them as sort of a ditzy people which seem to have a knack of hating me lol. Except for one I have met, who is like the one of the nicest people, and doesnt fit in with the other flutes..... And saxes seem to remind me somewhat of the french horn people, yet they are more exaggerated in their actions and are louder (like to attempt band/world domination)

Heres the stereotype ive found true when it comes to our band Trumpets: Boastful, full of themselves, too loud, very parent like... Drum line surprised bnoxious jock boys, full of themselves [[for a good reason]] Flutes: Gossipy girls who think their lives are ending every other day, cuties Saxophones: pompous, loud, pretty smart Clarinets: giggly girls who laugh to much, hotties

My band is sorta like this: flutes- uuber girly most of the time clarinets (me!)- the girls love any attention cuz most aren't very hot (except for me of course! XD jk) , guys hang with all girls or eachother. saxophone- loud, funny, but can't be serious EVER Tuba- fun to be around but let's the people talk to them trombone- either super crazy or super quiet with a crazy personality trumpets- thnik they're fantastic and sound even better if they overblow, willing to play constantly without slacking though percussion- hidden in the back so they never stop talking and goofing off. Some are really good percussionists but just can't shut up!

My band:
Flutes: tomboys (i'm the only actual guy) and perverted...i feel so awkward hanging around them cuz of what they tlk about and me being a guy
clarinets: bitchy
saxes: hyper and scatterbrained
trumpets: never shut up
tubas: very butch even the girls...all of them r real tall 2
mellophones: blah
baritones: show-offish
color guard: hott smile (my gf is in the colorguard) and very girly
percussionists: (not including battery) show-offish, slutty, bitchy sometimes, very social
battery: the "drummers" or "hooten-annies". Very retarded but hilarious. Never shut up but bd doesn't have to tell them cuz he cant breathe from laughing so hard. they make real dumb decisions (i dont' mean drugs or sex but like daredevilish) and they are always drumming on sumthing, especially the senior snare drummers

My band= flutes- preppy control freaks
clarinets- ME! ^-^- quiet in band, usually smart and kinda on the emo side, and don't want to speak up because they don't have confidence, but in marching band, they're tripping without the drugs :]
saxophone- smart and funny, slightly immmature, but what bandi isn't? make horrible hallway locker buddies.. (jk victor I <3 you! )
Tuba- nice and considerate of others..most of the time...they'll help you out
trombone- Emo nerds
trumpets- fantastic preppy-ish people that never practice EVER and fail at their parts excpet for 1 or 2 of them, and STILL think they're the shiz lol
percussion- Most immature out of the band, drugies, but some of the coolest people EVER! ^-^

I always see the following:
Flutes: REALLY competitive with each other, and cocky. Percussion: Lazy and always off-task. Saxophones: Pranksters and clever. Double-reeded: Can be cocky, but usually pretty quiet and out of the way.

lets see: flutes: mostly girly girls, if there is a guy, then they must be gay or working on it tuba: almost big enough to be in football, but band won trombone: all horny trumpet: annoying and irritating clarinet: dumb, but there are a few smart people baritone/euphonium: just kinda there... but not percussion: oh, don't even get me started on that one! xp
not all of these are true, it's just in general what tends to be the case in my band. Some of the stereotypes cover some people, but not all.

Well as far as my band goes/went::
Flute - Petite girls & one gay boy that can play but just can't be heard. Piccolo - Self centered and thinks she's the only woodwind that can play. Clarinet - Really nice boys & girls. Usually aren't heard unless playing alone but still good musicians. Bass Clarinet - Players that are wasted when having to double tuba parts... Alto Sax - Jazzy, and really good or bad players. Tenor Sax - Really loud or really quiet when playing. Bari Sax - Either Lazy or a raging b***h. But all of them can play. Trumpet - Really good players (private lessons). Or.. They just can't play and chose to stay on that instrument through middle school & high school. Horn - Usually sweet if they're females. But the males are usually douches. (The ones that can play) -- Overall good players Baritone - One of the first sections to have music memorized.Loudest & Smallest section. (Don't know if that will continue this year) Trombone - Usually the quiet players or they get stolen from the baritones... Tuba - Don't have enough air to support the instrument, then they complain about the weight... Battery - Cocky... Lazy Ex: "WE HAVE THE HARDEST JOB." -flop down and be lazy- They're usually the last ones to have their music memorized. In Indoor & during marching season. Front Ensemble - They usually have really good players (piano -> FE) or players that are in the process of learning but they usually have a good attitude.

My band is pretty chill, in general. Most people will talk to everyone else - except those really weird kids that can't play their instrument to save their lives. haha.
Flute - Cool preppy girls with crusty girls in the last few chairs. Clarinet - All really chill, nice girls. First clarinets are talkative... from there on very shy. Alto Sax - Minus the first two chairs, none of them seem like they want to be there. Tenor & Bari Sax - It is VERY apparent that none of them[except the obvious first chair] want to be there, and are more than likely there to get out of gym. Trombone - Not very loud. Sort of just a chill section. Tuba - Super rad kid. Everyone chants "Tuba, tuba!" when he walks in the room. Yeah. Baritone - Only one player. Nobody knows why she's really there. Bass Clarinet - One really good, one really bad. Generally a pretty quiet section. French Horn - He's pretty good most of the time. Slightly odd but not too over the top. Trumpet - Our trumpet section is... interesting. It's got all of the trumpet stereotypes in one. We have the egotistical bigheads, the crusties that sometimes struggle to hit a C in the staff and make the the rest of us wonder if they're really trying, the girls that are just there to get out of gym, and the one that has a passion for playing the trumpet and is petrified by the thought of sitting near those that don't even care, or being under them seating-wise. Percussion - A select few are really good and could play anything, the rest either suck but try or just don't care. They shout random things during band and are sort of just jerks. So. :/
That's about it. :3

percussion: funny and friendly, or loud and annoying flutes: the most stuck up (relative to seating position and such). they can be the nicest people outside of band, but they are by far the most competitive. trumpets: loud usually nice though

Our band is..interesting to say the least
Flutes=preppy jerks and their egos are fed by the bd Clarinets=cocky full of them selves underacheivers Percussion=obnoxious and enjoy playing loud if they aren't playing the right thing but chicken out when they do have to play the right thing rolleyes Low Brass=never pay attention always think they are right/god's gift to the world mean to everyone and even one another Saxes=a mixture of nerds and underdogs Bassoon=there's only one but he's a sweetheart(he graduated this year, I'll miss him and his mad skills) and our hodge-podge Trumpets= We're everything...A few are nerds, one is a ditz, another thinks she's the fashion police(gag me xp ), another is a cold-hearted b***h(she abuses me for no reason), and one of them is a little band emo*coughs*not me*coughs*
We're like a fruit salad, without one section we just wouldn't be right
