Kaigen smiled, glad that Nani agreed to spend some more time with him. There was something about her that tugged at him. "That's great! umm, I mean . . . where would you like to go? For a drink? Maybe even just for a walk, ne"
Kaigen realized he really should have planned ahead just a it further, now that he was there, making a legit idiot of himself. Before it was a bit of a show, but now . . . he really was being a loser. This is what he got for being out of the game for a hundred years. He couldn't bring himself to so much as try to talk to anyone since his wife died . . . while he was still human. Then again, he wasn't half bad for so long a gap.

She blushed, nodding slightly as she followed him out of the room. She wasn't sure where they should really go, there was a lot she could think about. She knew many people enjoyed going to get a drink after work but she wasn't much for alcohol, the only problem was that she didn't know what else they could do. He seemed to like the idea and she didn't want to be rude, she could probably stand one drink, she was just afraid of any more. Unlike some, she just didn't like alcohol. It wasn't a small tolerance, though she did have a low tolerance for the liquid, she just didn't like the taste unlike some people might. She wasn't sure what else there was that they could do, there weren't any places she really wanted to go for a walk, except the garden, but she was afraid she'd bore him if they went there, she was never very exciting around flowers, she just didn't blush quite so much. Perhaps it would be best to go somewhere that he could get a drink and she could settle for some tea, like the shop in the fourth division, where Nani typically went for a relaxing drink of tea, and she could stand some form of clean alcohol in her tea, she just didn't want to taste it. "I-I guess I could go for a drink... It's been a while." She replied softly, bending over to dust off her pant legs as if out of nervous habit, though her finger poking tended to be more of a nervous reaction then straightening her clothes out. She was just a little unsure what to do when the man she'd just met was offering to take her out for a drink. It really didn't help that she was partly afraid of him, being as tall as he was.

Kaigen cocked his head to the side a bit as he thought of where they might go for a drink. he hadn't exactly been smooth, but he managed to ask a cute doctor out without fainting, so he chalked that one up as a mental win. "Isn't there a tea shop around here . . . do you suppose they have sodas there?" he wondered aloud, since Nani would know a lot better than he would. Soda at a tea shop was odd, but he couldn't help but ask, "I'm a sucker for strawberry. Well, I say there's no better way to find out than to go see, hm?"
He smiled brightly, so much so that he may have well been Cheshire((the cat, not the RPC)).
"Whaddya say, Nani-chan?"
PostPosted: Fri Apr 10, 2009 8:05 pm

Nani looked up to him, nodding slightly. Perhaps the Kaiteki had Soda, she didn't really know, she'd only ever ordered tea so she didn't know what else they had but tea, alcohol and what few snacks they'd serve with it. She continued to dust herself off for a moment before looking back to him and smiling slightly. "Well there's not a lot there as far as I know but it's worth a try. I'd be happy enough to have a cup of tea though." she replied softly, looking back to the floor as her face turned a light shade of red once again as she had before. The thought of his second comment, the one that followed his question. What did he mean he was a sucker for strawberries exactly? She was probably the color of a strawberry at that point, well that was embarassing. If she wasn't the color of a strawberry before then she was at that thought. Hopefully he wouldn't mind if she just stared at the ground for the rest of the time they spent together. "Umm... are you sure you want to go there Kaigen-san? Th-there might be somewhere a little... fa-farther from here? I-I m-might have to g-go back to w-work being th-this close..." she suggested quietly, unable to keep herself from studdering at the thought of going outside her division. That was something she rarely did, leaving her division was just unthinkable to her. While she knew her taicho and fuku-taicho had to leave on occasion for things that were important, she never found need so, to be honest, she was a bit afraid to leave. She cared a lot for her division and the injured who entered, if she wasn't there to help when she could be found she'd feel bad and having never really left the division unless forced, she usually did enjoy helping people quite often. She just hoped he didn't take her seriously.

Division 5 - Seat 3

(Sorry I got to ruin your Rp Guys.)

Yin had appeared at the entrance with shadow over his shoulder. He quickly gave him over to one of the nurses. He didn't have much time, he had to make it to the trial. "Don't Die Shadow...." Yin said disappearing.

Kaigen was the first to sense Yin's appearance, and the first to say anything about it, " . . . ********." The fact that Yin dropped off one of their fellow shinigami in a beaten state meant one thing . . . Kaigen and Nani weren't going anywhere together, at least not for quite a while.
With a sigh, Kaigen placed a hand gently on Nani's shoulder, "You should help him . . . we can go when you're done."
He took a few steps back then, letting Nani have room to think and act. He'd even help if he could find a way to, though that seemed unlikely unless she needed an extra source of Reiryoku to channel.
Kaigen could kick fate in the face for this one, but for now, he'd just take up as little space as possible while Nani worked her magic.

At hearing Kaigen speak, she spun around to look at Shadow, placed so pathetically on a nurse who obviously couldn't support his weight. Nanibit her lip for a moment before turning and nodding to Kaigen apologetically just before running over to help. Quickly, she and a few nurses moved Shadow onto a stretcher and into another room, Nani examining his wounds a bit more clearly while they moved. There were a number of injuries on his body, but all appeared to be previously healed, there was no sign nor reason for his collapse. She couldn't do much for him without knowing what was wrong, and when she couldn't catch up to who had left him and he couldn't tell her in an unconcious state, she was a bit stuck. Yes her medical skills were quality and any human doctor wouldn't stand a chance at being better than her, but she was not up to par with her Taicho or Fuku-taicho. While she was capable of many of the same results, it was difficult for her to diagnose things like this with no means of information or reason. She was just going to have to do her best.
After stopping in an empty medical room, the young girl was quick to set a morphine drip in his left arm and do a thorough check for any causes. Still having none, she instructed the nurses to quickly find some means of life support. Shadow still had a pulse, it just wasn't as strong as she liked and if anything she was afraid it was a mental condition. Without wounds to treat, the best she could do was get him set for anything, run a few tests, and wait it out, and that's exactly what she did. Once she was sure he was properly set she ran a few tests and sent them to the med lab, though she knew it would be a few hours before they got results back. Once she was sure she'd done everything she could, she made her way back out into the hallway, down the hall to the restroom to wash up, then back out to the waiting room, expecting that in the hour and a half that had passed Kaigen would be there instead of standing by the door.
Once in the small area, she let out a soft sigh and sat down in one of the chairs, pulling her knees to her chest. She wasn't exactly prepared to leave yet, she wanted to wait to get the lab results back for the boy, or at least wait until he woke up, whichever came first. Either way, she wasn't planning to leave her division now, not without knowing what was wrong or how to treat the boy. She only hoped Kaigen would understand, they could always go for tea in the hospital cafeteria in the general sector.

Kaigen waited about a half an hour before walking down the hall. He peeked in, though he probably shouldn't have, to see what was going on, and found Nani still handling things, so he headed towards the waiting room. He picked a chair facing away from the rooms and slumped down, thinking maybe he could catch a bit of shuteye until she got back, and so he did . . .
An hour later, Kaigen opened his eyes as someone sat in the chair diagonally behind him on his left, and he sat all the way up, grasping at the air as he stretched his groggy body as far as he could, popping a few joints for a satisfying feeling. Leaning back over the chair behind him, he finally figured out who sat down and smiled. He leaned all the way back to get a clear view of Nani and spoke.
"How is he?" he asked, liable to startle her a bit as he just kind of came out of nowhere.

Nani jumped at the sound of his voice. After having stood through the silence of the other room, where the only sounds were scurry and anticipating breaths mixed with racing hearts, hearing someone's voice was enough to scare her, having it come from behind her all of a sudden only made it worse. Her heart skipped a beat at first, but as she turned to see who it was, it thudded against her chest, turning her face a bright red and banging a thudding in her ears. Simply by reflex, she raised a hand to hit him before her brain could connect face with name. Once she realized who it was, it was a bit too late for her hand had already made contact with his cheek, however light the hit was. Slowly, shaking slightly, she pulled her hand back and raised it to her mouth, staring at him as her face grew an even darker shade of red. "I-I'm so sorry... y-you st-st-startled me and I... I'm s-so sorry, I really didn't mean to K-Kaigen-san..." she appologized frantically, stumbling over nearly every word she tried to say. How stupid she was being, and all because he'd only been concerned. Sure he scared her, but that didn't mean she needed to hit him. Turning around slowly, she sat down again, pulling her knees to her chest once more, holding her legs with her arms, and resting her chin on her knee. She'd do her best not to think about it, he'd asked about the patient after all.
"He seems alright... I don't know exactly what happened but he's stable for now and... w-well I'm waiting for some t-test results... then we can go." She answered softly, moving to hide her face against her legs. "Assuming you still want to after I hit you..." she added in a hushed tone, hoping he wouldn't hear her. She really didn't want to miss out on a chance to go out with someone, she'd spent far too long in the four walls of the fourth division, she really needed to get out a bit more. She didn't want him to think she didn't enjoy his company in anyway, she thought he was sweet and kind, the problem was she was a nervous reck and as jumpy as a frog with a pot full of flies infront of it. She didn't want that to turn anyone away, she was simply afraid that with someone like Kaigen, who was huge next to her and probably had so many better options, she'd be left lonely still.

When Nani slapped him, Kaigen toppled backwards, ending up on his head in the chair next to her, his legs up in the air. "Hehe . . . hello to ou too," he replied simpl, not letting such a little thing get to him. It wasn't a serious hit, and he didn't even take most of those to heart anyways.
"Don't worry, I'm resilient," he said as he knocked on his own forehead, "and I waited here this long, didn't I? You're not getting rid of me that easily, Na~ni-chan."
He swung his legs foward, flipping off the chair, using his hands to brace himself before landing on his butt on the floor next to Nani. Then he did something that bordered on obvious . . . he slid over a spot so that he would be in front of her, and rested his head backwards on her shins, curling his legs inwards in 'indian style'.
"You gotta be more liberal, Nani-chan . . . if all the blood is in your face, that might cause complications, ne?"

Nani giggled softly as he went through his childish antics, moving so close to her and resting his head against her leg. She watched him silently for a moment, the blush fading slightly from her cheeks, though it did not disipate completely. She watched him for a moment longer before slowly bending over and looking at him, looking down for once, something that didn't seem very common for him. She smiled at him slightly, her pink face slowly losing tint. "I... I guess there's plenty of blood in me... I-I never feel light headed..." she answered softly, slowly releasing her legs and putting her feet down, being careful to keep from stepping on him in anyway. She hoped he wouldn't mind, she was trying to keep from hurting him to make up for having just hit him. "Once I see the lab results we can go, okay? I don't mean to make you wait like this after all, it's unfair to you, I'm sure you've other things to do." She added, smiling at him slightly though her face was a light shade of pink once again. She wasn't sure what to do, they were kind of there until she got some data or the boy woke up, either way, they were kind of stuck. She didn't want him to be stuck there with her, it wasn't fair to him, but at the same time she was happy he came and stayed, she'd have someone to talk to while passing the time, something she didn't get very often.

Kaigen made it easier for her to miss by leaning forward as she put her feet down. He leaned back once again as she said a bit more on the tests she had run on Shadow. "Nah, it's no big deal. It's my day off anyways, and my social life is a bit . . . lacking, so I'm not missing out on anything by waiting here . . . in fact, I'm gaining something, ne?" he replied, meaning what he said. He asked her for a drink so they could talk, and waiting around offered the same opportunity, so it wasn't half bad. Besides that, he was physically closer to her than he would have been at a table.
"So . . . what should we talk about?"

She shrugged slightly, smiling at him before moving her hands to her hair, pushing a few loose strands back behind her ear before pulling her braid around and removing the little white ribbon from the end. Slowly, gently, she ran her fingers through her hair, letting it come untangled before seperating it into three equal groups once again. She took a moment of silence to just rebraid it, being sure to get everything back in place as it should have been before tying the ribbon back on the end and looking back to him again, her face a bubblegum pink and her smile as genuine as the moon itself. He wouldn't mind her face always being the color of candy, right? She could only hope so, it was unlikely that would change after all. Maybe, in time she'd get used to being around people so much, but after spending all her time in her division for so long she wasn't used to people other than her taicho and fuku-taicho and when one of them doesn't talk and you're afraid of a woman who controls your entire division no matter how long she'd known her it was hard to keep from being afraid. "I know what you mean... I avoid days off just so I can work. It's probably odd to you, but I do it to help people. There's a reason I'm in the fourth division I guess..." she muttered honestly, looking up to glance around her division a bit longer. After a moment, she looked back to him, holding her sweetest smile on her lips. "So... since we can't leave the hospital right now, would you like to at least go over to the general sector? There's a cafeteria. The foods not that great but the tea is tolerable at least." she offered, standing and offering him a hand to get up though she doubted that, in size comparison, she stood a chance at really being of any help, she'd probably fall forward on him if he actually pulled her to stand up.

Wake up. Wake up, Shadow!

shadow grumbled in his sleep, his body twitching as it responded.

Shadow! Soma is under trial! If you stay here, he will surely be found Guilty! You must stop that from happening! You MUST WAKE UP!

As the voice exploded into his head, Shadow shot up straight, his eyes blurred as he fought to remember what happened. The memory of the boy began to resurface, but the pain began to return, and Shadow forced it from his mind. He saw that he was attached to machines, and he knew exactly where he was. He smirked. 'What else would they have thought to do?' Having passsed out, he knew that the most logical place to have taken him would have been Division 4's Emergency Room. Shadow wished he could tell someone what had happened, but he knew so little himself, he was sure that it would be pure gibberish to others. But at that moment, the words from before echoed in his mind. Soma is under trial. Gripping the sensors on his body, Shadow ripped them off savagely, and climbed off the table.

He staggered, but caught himself before falling on his face. Vision blurring for a moment, Shadow shook his head in an attempt to clear it. It helped, a bit. Growling, Shadow saw his possetions against the wall in a container, and hurriedly grabbed them and dressed. He knew that pulling off those sensors would set off an alarm, and he had to leave quickly. Shadow finished dressing, and made his way out of the room, and towards the main exit.

"Well, I was training when I hurt my arm . . . in the 11th division, days off are still filled with fighting. I'm not quite sure I was placed in division 11, to tell the truth," he replied, letting his own awkward moment pass before Nani spoke again.
"That's OK with me, Nani-chan . . . " As long as we can be together. That's what he wanted to say, but he couldn't do it for fear of being waaaay too forward. They'd known each other for less than two hours, there was no way he could say it.
He was going to just stand up when he spotted Shadow walking towards the exit. "So damn troublesome . . . " he muttered as his head dropped dismally. "Nani-chan, your patient is trying to leave . . ."
