I have been thinking, and I think we would have a wider range of ranks to choose from if we had it branch out. On the trainee side, we could branch it out into a fighting rank and a defensive (Tank) rank.
And on the clerk side, we could have it branch out into a healing and protection rank, and a stat increasing rank.
If you didn't understand that, I don't blame you sweatdrop
Here, I try this:
When you past the general rank, you can choose a Defender or an Assassin. When you pass the Temple Master rank, you can be a Cleric or an Oracle.
I can't think of any good clerk names.
If you understood that... Kudos to you...
And now that I think about this, it seems to complicated. Nevermind ._.
. . . And be happy. A bit to complicated for me, sorry. I kinda want to stay with the one name only ranks. sweatdrop

TS_William instead of trainee can it be apprentice that's not a bad suggestion... but i think that would throw the clerk side off if we just added it. for replacing it i dont know... it certainly sounds better than trainee.

Apperentice sounds like something of a blacksmith and the magic side. sweatdrop disciple (sp?) maybe that would work?

TS_William is now over 100 posts. (i think we'll just post new battle ranks in here for awhile...)
and new battle ranks to be considered to be added to the list are
(for the fighter side)
guardian
Apprentice instead of trainee? (need more discussion on this)
(for the magic side)
Holy Mage
Prophet
Oracle
Acolyte (not too sure about this one)
obviously we need more fighter ranks, we also need to figure out where exactly some of these would go as guardian and acolyte are lesser sounding than a general/temple master

Oracle/Prophet should go in about the rank 5-7 area
apprentice sounds more like a non-generic name, couldbecome either mystical or material in combative powers, i say it sounds better than trainee...perhaps we should use it
Holy mage would be the top-notch mystic class hands down
as for melee:
Guardian sahould come a ways before the general-class rank
i think rank 4-6 area should be fine
melee suggestions:
Vanguard - a fornt-line unit designed for pounding the enemy to pieces - a rank 7-9 area
Tactician - though not commonly seen warrior-like tacticians make the calls on the fighting plain, making them necessary, i say rank 8-9 area
