When they got to the restaurant Daewyn grabbed the menu and studied it intently.
"I think I'll have the crab cakes, a 10 oz dragon steak medium-rare, some mashed guapa roots, Bottomswill roast with all the trimmings, and a large mug of cactaur juice. I'll order dessert later."
After she had ordered, Daewyn glanced up and saw the others staring at her. "What? Aren't you guys gonna order something?"
*phey stares at Daewyn with her huge order and thinks to herself ,"i guess we're going all out tonight... i that case..."* Phey: " I'll have the fried remora, ochu salad... no, cross that, no salad. Some garuda drumsticks, and adamantoise soup ... oh... and a glass of water!" *phey rubs her hands together and says...* Phey: "this gonna be great!"
Naoko walks into the restaurant and sits down with her comrades, finally pulling back her hood, but letting her bangs cover her eyes just enough for it to not show, she gazes down the menu. Nothing seems appealing to her, but then again food didn't seem appealing to her at all: Naoko thought it only as a neccessity to survive.
"I'll just have a salad...any wil be fine," she murmurs.
***RANDOM PERSON POST***
Baikasu studies the menu and says, "I'll have the 12 oz dragon steak, medium, please." Then, after the waitress leaves, he takes out a bottle from his jacket, takes a drink from it, then sets it on the table right in front of himself. " Force of habit. I never trust anyone with my drinks. Especially if something suspicious i going on." He pauses for half a minute, then says, "So, how did all of you meet up?"
Naoko's eyes arch in curiousity as the mysterious blonde haired man walks in, shouting "LOVE and PEACE!" before running out.
People here are a bit odd...
She smiles at Baikasu as her meal returns, and begins picking away at the salad.
"I was in Talkae Forest when I felt my amulet begin to glow...that was when I ran into Phey here," she begins. "Well...it was more of an accident, really."
Unused to her hood being down, Naoko lets her long, dark hair cover most of her facial features, mostly around her eyes.

*as phey's meal is set in front of her she starts eating it wildly* Phey: "this is soo good! 4laugh come on naoko, you have to try this garuda leg " *seeing naoko picking at her salad phey holds the huge drumstick toward her.*
Naoko sees Phey waving a garuda drumstick at her, but she waves her hand.
"Um...no, no thanks, Phey...." she replies hesitantly. "...I'm..." What can I say to them to explain my strange eating habits? "...um...not that hungry..."
phey: "not hungry? ... okay, suit yourself." *phey stuffs the garuda leg in her mouth and continues inhaling her meal*
Daewyn pauses from her massive food shoveling to arch an eyebrow curiously at Naoko. "Why aren't you eating your food? Are you feeling sick? If you're not hungry I'll eat it for you."
Baikasu causously takes a small bite out of his steak, chews it slowly, and swallows it. Then he says, "Hmm! Not bad!" andf takes a large bite out of it. After he swallows, he says, "Quit hassling her. She's obviously not hungry." He eats another large piece of steak and swallows, "I don't trust that guy. He killed that thing way too easily."
Naoko mouthed a small "thank you" at Baikasu as she continues picking at her food, eventually stabbing the poor, wilted Bohemian salad and putting it into her mouth.
"What man? You mean Rubicant, Baikasu?" she asks.
"Yeah...him..." Baikasu replies. "He's just seems too suspicious. That behemoth was a lot to handle."
"He has his ways, I guess," Naoko tries to explain. "A master of fire must always be at his best, even if it means that killing certain creatures may be too easy for the normal bounty hunter to handle. The shadow behemoth was not a trick by him; it had been following us ever since I transported us out of Talkae Forest...or rather, it had been following me."
Daewyn, who had been paying attention to her food, now perked up at this remark. Daewyn: "Oh is that what attacked you. When it all happened I was really confused and hid quick. *shudders* There were a lot of scary noises and stuff, but I couldn't see much of anything. So do you know why the behemoth was following you?"
Naoko glances up at Daewyn before quickly looking back at her food.
"It's a long story. I'd rather not talk about it."

*without looking up from her plate phey says..* "the dumb beast probably thought of her as a tasty treat." *she chews on her fried remora* "on to other matters... where do we go next?"
After Shao checks out his room and lies down for a while, he goes to join the table. People offered him food.
"No thanks, I'm not hungry...I'm just hear to listen and talk because it seems like there's a lot to know (*mumbles* 'and taking advantage that Rubicant isn't here...'). And yeah I think it's time you tell us if you know where to go next, Naoko"
Naoko pushes away her meal, already feeling the dizziness of eating. She sighs and looks into her glass thoughtfully.
"Well...I know that there's a temple just outside of here. We could go check that out to see if there is a puzzle piece to solve," she says. "Although...the temple is in ruins...there could be some clues to find out what these amulets are about. I mean, I barely know what they are for except that they contain the mystery of a seal...."
She rubs her temples as if they were annoying her. "We could start off there for tomorrow. It's a bit dangerous but nothing that we couldn't handle easily."
She gets up and pulls up her hood, setting down some gil onto the table. "Here's my pay for my meal. I'm going to rest for a while; my eyes are killing me."
It's not my eyes...I sense something else, she thinks to herself before leaving the restaurant.
In the dark recesses of the underground, a creature smiles sinisterly.
Baikasu leaves enough gold to cover evryone else, including a generous tip, then says, "I don't know about you, but I need some rest. If you need me, I'll be on the roof of the inn. Nice to meet you all. I'll see you in the morning." Then walks out, goes to the inn, jumps onto the roof, then gets ready to sleep. With pistol in jacket, held in his hand. Just in case.
Daewyn finished her last bite of dragon steak and looked over at Pharoah. Daewyn: You ready to go back to the inn too? I'd rather not go alone.... Daewyn wasn't usually this dependent on others, but that whole behemoth thing had her shook up still. And besides, she liked Pharoah; she was the first person to stick up for her in a long time. She reminded her of her big sister. "I wish you were here, sis..." she thought to herself.
*Phey swallowed the last of her meal.* Phey: "yep, i'm ready. you can stay in my room if you want, the bed is pretty big so we can share." *the two get up and leave for the inn*

Naoko walks into her room, shuts the door quietly behind her much to the inn owner's dismay (she wanted an excuse to throw Naoko out beside her race), and plops on the bed.
So tired...the food didn't help, either... she thinks to herself as she takes off her cloak and boots.
She unhooks her katana and sets it next to her on the bed before lying down in a comfortable position. Softly whispering words of her native tongue, she lets the dark void around her turn off the light and comfort her inside. Too many things had happened today, too many things that were beginning to flood her mind. She didn't want the sudden turn in her life so soon, happy with the solitary life she once led for the past 16 years after her village had crumbled. The temple she had been referring to the others was the temple of her home village. It had been ravaged by the Melbane massacre and many memories still lingered there, but Naoko had no other choice.
She curls into a fetal position, remembering her brother's mocking voice, and wondering to herself of his last words:
That prophecy our mother told us is false, you know that.
If the prophecy wasn't true, then how did that explain the amulets?
Shao leaves the table and goes to his room. He doesn't even know why he needs a room. He knew he wasn't going to be able to sleep tonight...he hasn't had a good night sleep in a LONG time.
He enters his room and looks out the window...the moon, still round as ever, looks so big that it's almost fake. Shao hears a very soft whisper coming from the room next door. He does not know who is next door, nor what they're saying, but it seems as if he's not the only one not being able to sleep tonight. He wonders if ANYONE is able to sleep after that attack...
Then he thinks about Rubicant. Whenever he thinks of this guy, he just gets a bad feeling.
The air is just too still tonight. Shao needs to move or he's going to be real tense. He slips out the window and expores the big town from the tall heights of the rooftops. He does not return until dawn.
Baikasu says to himself, " I wonder if anyone knows anything about the destruction of my hometown. I'll have to ask this group later." Then gets up and startts to walk around town." I think I'l patrol the city, since I can't sleep." He jumps off of the roof, and proceeds to do so.

Daewyn got up quietly and stretched her back. She had slept well last night, and now she was ready to tackle that temple everyone was talking about. She looked down at the amulet still hanging around her neck. "I wonder what you can do? It must be something special, and powerful, if these warriors all possess one. So how did someone as weak as me end up with one?" Daewyn quit wondering about it and got dressed, then quietly left the room, trying not too wake up Pharoah at this very early hour, and went in search of some breakfast. About 30 minutes later she returned to the inn with breakfast for everyone: bread, pasteries, coffee, and water. She took it to her room and set it down on the table in there. Pharoah was already awake by the time she returned. "Good morning Pharoah! I thought I would get breakfast since I was up first. You hungry?"
from Shao's room he smelled food...he remembered that he didn't have the appetite to eat last night and now he was really hungry... Sho opened the door and saw that a few rooms across a door was open, so he crept over there to take a peek. He saw Phey and Daewyn eating breakfast. Shao didn't want to be rude but he was really hungry..
He asks shyly, "Excuse me, Phey, Daewyn? Do you mind if I join you guys?... sweatdrop "
"Not at all!" Daewyn smiled. "I bought breakfast for everyone. It's kinda my way of saying 'thank you' I guess. Anyway, help yourself!"
Daewyn grabbed a pastery herself and started munching happily.
"Thanx!" Shao zips to the table and starts eating, hoping no one heard the loud rumble of his stomache...
"So Daewyn..." *munch munch* "I don't think I've asked you why you possess your amulet yet...I'm interested in learning more about how each person got it in hopes of finding some kind of connection. Because all of us who possesses an amulet seem to all be running across each other....ther must be some reason for this."
I...well...it's kind of embarassing, but I stole it. I have to steal in order to eat, and well....This mean woman came by the other day. She kicked me and called me a "wretched urchin." I got mad and when she wasn't looking I took the amulet that was hanging around her neck. *laughs* She didn't even know it was gone! I was gonna see how much I could sell it for, when it started glowing. I got this strange feeling that I should keep it, and that's when I saw Naoko walk by. I could see her amulet glowing too, so out of curiosity more than anything, I followed her. The rest is history. So what about you? How did you find yours?
*Rubicant returns from his trap setting and smirks to himself, seeing Baikasu on the roof of the inn, he lands beside him with a quiet thump. Immediatly, he hails him to not get shot*
Hail... Good morning, how do the others fare? Sorry I took so long, i got caught up fighting a Forest Nantuko. Have you all prepared to head out to wherever it was you were going? Am I still invited?

"Well..." *takes out his amulet, swirling of blue light inside*
"I got mine from someone I knew...I am told that it will one day lead me to where I will find... the person...it's quite complicated. For te many years I've possessed this amulet, it has never glowed like this before...but there have been some recent events...I met this person in the forest that seemed to know what this amulet does, but he did not reveal anything to me. He simply told me to follow where the amulet leads me and I will soon find an answer..."
Naoko slowly opens her eyes and lets her void of sleep disappear.
It's already morning...
She quickly gets up and ready, not even bothering putting on her cloak anymore since she figured that her companions were used to the strange color of her eyes. She hears talking downstairs and silently listens for a moment.
"He simply told me to follow where the amulet leads me and I will soon find an answer..." came Shao's voice.
What are they talking about? she wonders.
Dismissing the thought, she continued her way downstairs, careful to not make eye contact with the owner, and entered the eating area. Daewyn and Shao's heads turn upon her entrance. Naoko immediately flushes with embarassment, unused to the attention, and regrets not putting on her cloak.
"...Good morning," she mumbles before quickly taking a seat next to Shao. She brushes back a stray lock of hair out of habit.
*Rubicant senses everyone start to rouse... he thinks 'damn... there goes this mornings chance... i need to get this over with... sigh* let's hope those traps work...' Rubicant calls down over the inn roof to the others.*
HAIL! How goes it all!

Daewyn looked up to see Naoko enter the room.
"Good morning Naoko! I brought breakfast, you're welcome to have some... if you want."
Naoko smiles and takes a slice of bread. She hears thumps above them on the roof and sees Rubicant. She waves.
"Good morning, Rubicant. How was your night after the fiasco?"
My night was fine, i went out hunting, I thought i'd be late, i got caught up fighting a forest Nantuko, ya know, the big mantis things? But i guess i'm on time...
Naoko nods. "I see...it doesn't seem that Baikasu has returned yet.."
"I'm right here. He woke me up.*points to Rubicant* Morning, all." Smells the food. Then jumps off of the roof, goes to the table, and asks, "Can I have some?" Then, realizing his hand is still on his pistol, he puts the gun away." Sorry. Just woke up."
*Daewyn smiles at him* "Sure help yourself, there's plenty for everyone. So Naoko, when are we leaving for this temple?"

Naoko bites into her bread, savoring in its taste. Reminds me of home... Then realizing that they were all going to the temple of her hometown, she says, "Sure, you can have some. It's been a rough night for us all..." she scoots over so that Baikasu could have a seat. "Um...about today...I think it's best for all of us to be well prepared."
She lets her cup of Gaiva swirl around by itself, awaiting the questions to arise.
Baikasu smiles. "Thanks!" He says, then he sits down next to Naoko, takes a pastry and eats a chunk out of it, "I take it that we're going to this temple for information regarding these amuletes?" Finishes the pastry. Then continues on with the other food, exept for the drinks. He still doesn't trust the drinks anywhere. Instead he drinks from his own canteen. "It's very good."
*phey choked on her coffee, realizing that she fell asleep again in 'mid-sip'* Phey: "sorry *cough cough* not a morning person *sniff* *phey felt a little cramped with everyone in the same room and tried to think of an excuse to get into the fresh air* Phey: "so, is everyone ready to head out?"
"I'm more than ready," Naoko replies as she quickly finishes her slice of bread and cup of Gaiva. "I'll have to guide everyone there since I'm the only one who knows where the temple is. It's pretty well hidden...and there's a seal that I need to break before entering into the area."
*Daewyn gets up and stretches*
"All right! Lets go!"
*She picks up her bag of "supplies" and stands at the door expectantly*
"I am. How 'bout everybody else?" Walks over to the door.
Phey: "alright! we're outta here!... wait... now where did i put that..?" *phey ties her pouch around her waist and searches under her pillow to find her gun still there. * Phey: "here it is." *with her tail wagging, she puts the gun in her pocket and bounds out the room.*

*Daewyn follows Phey happily*
Thinking to Herself: I should probably get a weapon ready too.
*She rummages through her bag and retrieves two long knives; she then straps them to her wrists and retracts the blades into their sheaths, keeping them ready to retrieve at a moments notice.*
"These will do nicely!"
Baikasu reloads his gun with a satisfying KA-CLICK and says, "Alreight, lets go."
*Rubicant looks about, noticing everyone showing off... pulling out weapons... fools... save your energy... *chuckle* You'll need it...*
I'm still ok to tag along i hope? I'll just follow ya'lls lead and help as i can.
Naoko stands up, stretching out her slender arms high above her head. She rotates her head a little bit and stretches her arms again as if trying to relax herself from something.
"It's alright, Rubicant. You can come along," she says to him.
Just don't do anything that'll surprise us... she thinks to herself, smiling.
Mentally chanting a spell around her katana hidden beneath her cloak, she steps out of the inn, making sure that she bid farewell to the owner. The owner just sniffed the air and turned away.
"I'm not thanking you for staying. Just hurry up and leave," she said to Naoko.
Naoko inwardly sighs to herself: when will people ever learn? She then steps out of the inn along with the others, following them out to Rohing's gate. Something had been nagging at the back of her head; she wasn't so sure that going to Melbane's temple be a good thing at all...but she had no choice.
Or did she? ~~ More eyes, more glaring eyes, slipped out of its hiding place in the crook of the alley only to quickly hide once again when Rubicant passed by. The eyes narrowed as the group passed.
Damn the man for his interference, a voice whispered through the iris. I'll have to take care of him before getting the rest. Lips curled into a sinister smile. Everything was going according to plan.

Shao watches from behind as Rubicant talks to Phey..
Hmmmm... Shao thought to himself. Maybe I'm just being a little over-paranoid. The others seem to be getting along with him. It might just be uneasy for me because I haven't actually commuicated with people in a long time...
Then he hears a voice. "Everything happens for a reason...every person has their motives..."
Shao quickly turns around.
It's that same voice again... Shao shakes his head to try to rid of the voice. It is starting to creep him out. He feels a bit of fear, and a bit of anger when he hears the voice. Shao gets so tense he feels like he's going to go mad at any second. Suddenly Rubicant places his hand on Shao's shoulder. Shao was in such shock that he reaches in his pockets and takes out his ninja stars, ready to turn around and throw. He then realizes what he was doing and quickly puts them away, hoping no one saw what he was doing. Shao slowly turns around and faces Rubicant.
He smiles..."looks like you didn't get enough sleep last night."
Shao feels cold shivers throughout his whole body... No...this guy really isn't someone to be trusted Shao tries to force back a smile, and they go back to join the main converstaion of the group.
*Who was that in the alley... hmm... nevermind, Rubicant thinks... He resumes his smile at the group and restarts his convo with Phey.*

Since Phey was conversing with Rubicant, Daewyn decided to try and talk to Naoko. She still intrigued Daewyn, especially her eyes. Daewyn didn't think she'd ever seen such pretty eyes before. Using her size to her advantege, she snuck up on Naoko and popped out right in front of her.
"Hello!" Too her amamzement, Naoko didn't seem to be surprised. "She must have heard me coming, I'll have to work on my sneaking skills..." Daewyn thought to herself. She relished challenges.
*phey continues to converse with rubicant as the group exits rohing* Phey: "my hobbies?... well, i guess i have a thing for guns and um... larceny... nothing real special..." *phey looks up at rubicant to see him still smiling and quickly looks down as she felt herself start to blush.* Phey: "so ...uh.. how did you get so strong? it seems like you fought that behemoth like it w..was nothing."
Shao overhears Phey's comment, "so ...uh.. how did you get so strong? it seems like you fought that behemoth like it w..was nothing." and he shouts "WHAT??"
Phey and Rubicant both turn around and look at him...he realizes that he's a little TOO close to them...
Shao thinks fast..."WHAT...attack did you use...to defeat that monster? That was impressive..." It pains him to admit it, but it was a pretty strong attack...
Daewyn pops up behind Naoko, but she doesn't seem to mind -- she's been used to sneak attacks ever since she was small.
"Hello!" Daewyn chirps.
Naoko just blinks at the younger yet taller girl, not surprised. Spunky... She smiles back at Daewyn, trying to be as friendly as possible and get rid of the nagging thoughts of her past. Elders of towns and villages knew her eyes, but of course, they were never taught to the youth - they were never taught to stray away from her kind.
"Hello..." she replies softly before looking back to her boots, thinking of something else to say as they walked.
"WHAT?!?" Shaolin shouted ahead of them, which made Naoko snap back up.
"Whoa...I never knew that Shao could shout so loud..." Daewyn murmured.
Naoko shrugged. She didn't know, either. "I think it's because of Rubicant...personally, what Rubicant thinks is his own business."
"What do you mean by that?" Daewyn asks.
"What about Rubicant? Do you not like him either? I don't understand why Shao doesn't like him. He DID kill the behemoth for us. So where is this temple we're going to? Is it far away? What are we gonna do when we get there? Why are your eyes so pretty?"
**Daewyn stops after this last comment because of the strange look Naoko gives her.**

Naoko eyes Daewyn curiously, not sure if her questions were either out of curiosity or threatening. Taking the former, she just smiles and shakes her head at Daewyn.
"You know...that's the first time someone's ever commented me about my eyes. Most are afraid to see them, especially at night," she replies. "Anyway, to answer your first question, Shao doesn't like Rubicant. I'm not sure of the reason, but I have an idea why. He's a bit...mysterious. I don't know what he did in the Void, but he was capable of getting in there without being hampered by my powers."
She notices that Daewyn looks at her curiously, wanting more. She shrugs, "You'll find out when we get to the temple. It's...I mean, it WAS where my hometown lay...so it's not far from Rohing."
Daewyn shrugs. "I don't know why anyone would be afraid of your eyes, I like them!" She giggles and gives Naoko a little hug. "So what was that you were saying, about your hometown? You mean you used to live next to this temple we're going to?"
Naoko is taken by surprise. She's not used to so much cheerful and amiable nature. Yep....I guess her elders never have told her of Melbane...
"Actually...the temple IS in my hometown..." she answers a bit more softly than usual and looks away. "...It's more rubble than temple nowadays, but I think it could still be useful."
~~
Another shadow. Another eye observes the group parading through the forest. It's eyes narrow at Naoko's words before disappearing back to its master.
Shao notices Naoko shifting eyes and then she hides under her hood further...she seems to know what people are watching at her. Shao keeps in mind to not stare at her too often to not make her feel uncomfortable...but those eyes...they look so...familiar...
Wait...no...it's someone else... Shao hears a faint rustle of leaves and he is sure that there was someone else watching. He may not be able to detect a presence the same way as Naoko, but he has excellent hearing. He can distinguish the difference between the leaves rustling from wind or from...a creature.
Which brings him to another point..Shao has superb hearing yet he was unable to hear Rubicant approaching him, and he got far enough to even touch him...
Rubicant...this man definitely possess some unparalleled power...
Baikasu walks over to Shao and says tensely, "Can we talk for a minute? Alone?"
that attack? uh... it was ah... the 'Firey red Banzai divebomb'... yeah, that's it... It uh... takes alot out of me... so i can only do it once in a while... so i save it for times like when i run into a bunch of travelers fighting a dark behemoth in the vo... um... in a dark alley...

*'what are those things watching us... they couldn't of been sent by... no... he's dead... I saw to that... so then... who else would be interfering with these guys, who else could know and have enough power to do anything... hmm... I wonder if Naoko knows... or if it had anything to do with her brother... Next time we split up, I'll investigate.' Rubicant wanders farther from Shao and Baikasu and closer to Daewyn and Naoko.*
I hope i'm not being rude, mind if i join the conversation?
"Why sure...mmm Baikasu right?"
They trail a bit behind the others...Shao now realizes that he had concentrated somuch on Rubicant that he was not very aware of the others. It's about time he started paying attention to others...to truly find out all the friends...and foes...
"Anything wrong?"
"I hope I'm not being rude, but mind if I join in the conversation?" Rubicant's voice filtered in Naoko's thoughts.
She snaps her eyes back to normal, barely peaking underneath her hood to turn towards Rubicant. He sure has a lot of thoughts on his mind....better not tell him that I can use my powers unconsciously...
"I don't...mind, Rubicant. We were just talking about the temple..." she replies towards their rather suspicious traveller. She glances over at Daewyn. "Do you mind, Daewyn?"
She feels a familiar aura surrounding them and stops walking, letting her eyes shift from normal color to a solid black. With her eye shifts, Naoko was able to heighten her five senses. Their tail was invisible, but not towards the void. She could see the creature from a distance, retreating back in flashes. Then, she lets her eyes shift back to normal.
A teleporter...damn... she curses to herself for not giving chase.
"Naoko? What's wrong?" Daewyn asks.
"...No...nothing," she replies. "It's nothing."
Baikasu says quietly, so that only Shao can hear, "I don't trust that guy. You don't seem to like him either. I think we should be careful around him. Keep alert."

"Finally!" Shao whispers. "I thought everyone liked him...he just makes me very suspicious. First point is that he has no amulet, and he seems like he has a reason to stick with us. Look, he definitely knows how I feel about him already, so maybe if you have a chance you can find out more about him. He probably doesn't suspect you yet...and I'll tell you anything I find out."
*Rubicant notices the teleporter as well but keeps it to himself, he wonders if he can talk to Naoko without anyone hearing or noticing... he doesn't know what these others can do, but he knows Naoko is the only one reacting to the spies... or whatever they are... He starts talking to himself in his mind, loudly, calmly, intentionally... 'Naoko... you know what they are... why are they here, what do they want? Man i wonder if she can hear me... good thing i have self-dicipline... i always stay on task, oh... wait a sec... um... oh yeah, you know who they are, you know what they want, and you know why i'm here... don't you... yes... you know it all... why haven't you ratted me out? why are you tolerating the interference, why are you with these people... why not just kill them and take their amulets? why do i keep asking questions in my head meant for someone right beside me? this is stupid... if she could hear me, she would've reacted by now... wouldn't she have? maybe she's that good... you go... hey... she's pretty nice looking to... hmm... and she seems dark, maybe even evil... and her brother, his aura... very strange... hmm... i wonder if she's single? of course she's single... she's a loner, no one understands her but her own kind... i can tell by her eyes... and not just cause they are cool lookin... hmm.... this is getting old... maybe i should just tug her robe and point off to the side with my eyes... hmm... GO LEFT! *chuckle* maybe she'll start heading left now, *chuckle*, man this is stupid... BOO! *chuckle* sigh* this is getting old... i should clear my mind... sigh* ommm... *laugh* man i'm weird on the inside... sheesh... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... that should do it... all that silence would drive any telepath mad... *laugh*...*
'So... Naoko... Daewyn... what are 'your' hobbies? *chuckle* i'm just kidden... so... how far away is this temple?'
Naoko blinks a couple of times at all of the mental conversation she receives from Rubicant, then blushes, then maintains a stoic expression.
You think too much, you know that? she mentally replies to his questions and thoughts much to his surprise. Idly listening to Daewyn's footsteps, she continues, Whatever you do is none of my business nor problem, and I don't really think that you'll ambush us out just because of the amulets...you know that they are something more than just puzzle pieces to a seal, but not quite sure what they are for.
She blows back a stray strand of hair that has annoyingly fallen in front of her eyes. And unlike you, I don't plan to kill anybody here nor betray my comrades. I've been through much trust and betrayal the years after my people's fall to ever betray anyone else. The amulets are not for personal gain...they are much more than that, and personal ambition would only hinder one's quest. Power? The amulets do not guarantee that, nor do they say they will grant power to their owner.
She sighs as they continue on their way through the thick patches of forest. The creature that just ran away is just one of many monsters that have inhabited the temple of my hometown. The eyes that surround us, however, I cannot be sure what they are. Either my brother is following me or something else. They have been looking after me for a while, but they haven't done anything to me yet. She slightly arches an eyebrow as she finally glances over Rubicant. ...And yes...I am single....why the thought?
"The temple is not far away from here. We should get there by sunset," she replies.
Her excellent hearing overhears Baikasu and Shao's conversation, but she pays no mind to it. She smiles to herself.
I'm also not your average Melbane, either, despite how I may look.
*now walking alone in the middle of the group, phey got bored and started scanning the landscape to find something to keep her occupied, her glances constantly passing over rubicant. she looked down and found a round stone and started kicking it. she kicked it once and it rolled to the right a bit... she followed and kicked it again, not taking her eyes off the stone. she kicked it a third time and as phey watched it slow the stone suddenly disappeared.* Phey: "whoa....what the..?" *phey catches a whiff an odd scent in the air* "phew... what is that smell? *sniff sniff* ".....creepy..." *phey falls back into the middle of the group and tries not to think about the vanishing stone... but out of instinct she puts her hand in her pocket and holds the trigger of her gun ready...*

"Good. It seems we are on the same side." He pauses for a second, then says, "I think it would be wise to see what Naoko thinks of him, just to be safe. I'll ask her when see's alone. I've got many things I need to ask her, and other people. Don't want Rubicant hearing anything." Suddenly, Baikasu feels eyes watching him from behind. He readies his pistol, since he had his front to the group.
*Rubicant stutters in his mind but knows better than to show any pause in his walking or change in his facial expresion. 'Oh... um... so... you can hear me... hm... well... *chuckle* i feel a bit invaded... oh well... anyway... So... you know there is more to it as well then... but do you know what they are for? You must realize i wouldn't be here if I had a choice... both of us are far more powerful than these gun wielders... and that child that walks beside us... But i must stay... and as long as i can fool the others and you won't say anything then no one has anything to worry about... You travel with these people because they have an amulet as you do... Why not work with me? I can kill them and take thier piece of the seal, and you and i... we could find out what the purpose of these things is, together...'*
Daewyn looked up at Rubicant and Naoko curiously. "I thought you wanted to talk to me! Why are you two being so quiet?!" She sighed loudly. "I'm bored! Are we almost there yet?!"
Shao looks at everyone with their hands touching their weapons and thinks Looks like almost everyone has noticed by now that we're being watched....because there are more of them now. He feels great tension arising...even if a little squirrel jumps out right now it would be dead in an instant. Our group suddenly stopped talking...for about five minutes no one made a sound...it was the longest five minutes ever.
*it was almost sunset and as the group moved forward the smell slowly got stronger. the fur on phey's tail and ears stood on end.* Phey: *Thinking to herself* GAWH! this place reeks! what the hell is that smell! *she attempts to not breath through her nose but as she takes a breath of air through her mouth the horrible smell leaves a foul taste in the back of it. she looks at everyone and sees that they apparently aren't bothered by this at all.* *thinking to herself* darn my luck to be born with senses like a dog... does no one else smell this?! ... *sniff sniff* ugh!... i can't take this nasty odor... I can't take this silence! Phey: *through clenched teeth* "does anybody... smell... that?!"
