I plan to sit at my friend's artist table and help her hawk pictures. I also plan to bring a candy dish, labeled "Free Candy: NOT laced with Jenova cells". twisted

Karill Well, when I cosplayed as Thatz, very few people recognized me, much to my extreme dismay. But I went in his first outfit (seen in books 1-3). I decided on that one since 1) it was easy 2) he was in it for the longest period of time (at the time I made the costume) 3) it was early on in the series. I should have pictures around here somewhere, if people are interested in seeing. twisted Oh, though I did carry around a sack with Nadil's head in it. i wonder how many people actually thought it was a head...

>.> Not too many, I'm sure. Like the manga, it didn't really *look* like a bundle with a severed head in it.

I'm thinking of dressing as Kitchel for a convention next year. But I've never done anything like this before. I mean, the first con I went to was Naka-con last year. >_< I'm kinda new at this. Any tips?

What sort of tips are you looking for? Ones specific to cosplay? Or general con tips?

If your cosplaying, be sure it's an outfit you won't mind wearing all day or one that you won't mind if people ask to take your pictures of. Even tough you are allowed to say you don't want your picture taken, you can get lost in the excitement and forget about not wanting to have your picture taken. Even my mom who hates to have her picture taken no matter what, let people take pictures while she was dressed up at the con we were at the other week.
If you're in a well-know cosplay, some people may glomp you! Just be prepared for those. Can't give you much more advice on that. ^^;
Hmm...general con tips - Be sure to keep your badge in a place you know you won't lose it. O.o I'e never lost mine, but I know a lot of people have.
If you're a frequent goer to the dealer's room, there's no need to actually wait in line for it to open. If you go about 30 minutes after it's opening time, you can get in there right after the line has disappeared.
Um...oh! Don't keep your money in your pocket! Doesn't matter how tight or deep your pockets are. Money will find a way out. I hate to say it, but there are theives even amongst anime fans.

>_> I've never had any trouble with my money... *shrugs*
However, I was glomped a bunch when I went as Hakkai. I don't really mind it, though. On the other hand, when I was Hojo, a Cloud kept prodding me with her (pointy) sword. sweatdrop

She was RPing (at least, I really hope, as she was giving me an absolute evil eye). Which some will do. I do (at least in my little brain), but I don't make it known unless I'm around friends. I'm too shy about things like that. redface
Good luck in your next con! ^_^ Do you have any costumes in mind?

OH wow! I got all excited when I saw those Dragon Knights cosplay. Good job to you guys. My friend and I are planning to be Lykouleon and Raseleane from volume 24. It's kind of perfect since she's way taller than me. XD She said she already started his shirt. The thing is I have no idea how we're going to do Raseleane's dress. It's so elaborate. eek Plus we're going to have to wing most of it since there is little seen on the cover. Luckly next year we're going to be in the same costume design class. So we can work on it together over the course of the year. Hopfully we can be done for next years Anime Expo. The one with the top hat is the one who is going to be Lykouleon and I'm the one dressed up as Orochimaru next to Naruto. This was from Anime Expo this year.

Ooh, good luck! I would recommend asking Nadil for tips, as she is a seamstress and she has talked about Rasalene's dress in the past. (Isn't that the most hilarious statement, when taken in a DK context? xd )
However, she's out of town right now. sweatdrop
