To me, it was pretty close, but here's my top 3:
1: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil (TH6)
2. Imperishable Night (TH cool
3. Perfect Cherry Blossom (TH7)
With an honorable mention to Phantasmagoria of Flower View (TH9) since the multiplayer is always a blast biggrin

Hm.. I would have to say out of the traditional, I really like Unidentified Fantastic Object the most. Then Megamari~. Oh lordy, I love that game!

Seems that a lot of people like IN. I guess it's because of all the extra unlockable features (replay value). Personally I like UFO because it's my 1st Touhou game, 1st love and all.

Well as an outlier I'd most certainly have to say Mystic Square, granted it sometimes made me want to smash something in frustration. After that it's between EoSD, SWR, and IN for second.
Ahh, though I must admit, as far as fan made games go I'd have to go with Concealed the Conclusion for it's sad little late and evil fascinating collection of spellcards. Reimu's final spell rush makes me cry. gonk

Hmm...out of the Windows games? Mountain of Faith. Out of the PC-98 games? Mystic Square. There's just something about that makes me feel all happy and frustrated inside.

I like EOSD. Though I do think the difficulty can be really frustrating at times. : /
Perfect Cherry Blossom was alright. It's not my favourite.
I dunno about MoF. It runs pretty slow on my computer (around 33.0 FPS)
but the Extra Stage plays 58.0FPS
so I always play the extra stage on MoF instead of the game itself. xD

getakichi I dunno about MoF. It runs pretty slow on my computer (around 33.0 FPS) Run custom.exe (or custom_e.exe if you have the English patch) and set the color depth to 16 bits and the frame skip to 1/2. It worked for me.

1.Highly Responsive to Prayers (Konngara!!~)
2.Lotus Land Story (Yuka~)
3.Mystic Square
4.Story of an Eastern Wonderland
5.Phantasmagoria of a Dimented Dream
(The rest of Touhou games are all listed as un-favorable for me then, Except UFO, I like it)
I also really love the Seihou games- But I'm not sure that would count here.

My first game ever was Perfect cherry blossom, I love swr but I have to play it with y friend, Forgiving Memories, not verse the comp because that's boring and easy.
Imperishable night is friggin epic >w<
