"Japi wants to see me huh? I hope everything is alright. Last time she called on me for help things got...interesting." As the druid walked he was opening and closing his treant arm as if grasping air. He was trying to gain familiarity to Gaia's elements again.
"I'm sure its not that dire, but only one of your abilities could help her at this time." Things are going to get interesting.
The odd pair reached the door, knocked, and waited.

Thump thump thump thump thump. The padding of Japi's tiny bare feet fell heavily on the other side of the door. Shh-thump. She must have had trouble slowing down and slid into the door.
The door swung open. "Hello?" she asked quizzically, eyes widening when she realized who it was. "Krillo!" she squealed as she flug her arms around him, having a little bit of trouble with the very large tree-appendage.
"I figured Sekenre would be able to get a-hold of you better than I could. Come on in!"
She looked out the door and then turned to Sekenre. "Where'd Addy go?"

Krillo was a little startled by Japi's affection, lightly embraced her, back away from her a tad and gave her a shallow bow. "Its good to see you again, Japi."
To Japi's question, Sekenre merely responded, with what could only be described as 'a look' on his face, "Oh, she's off playing with some butterflies."
It was a little taxing not to laugh.

Japi laughed at Krillo's attempt at formalities but gave him a slight bow in return. "Good to see you too."
"Butterflies?" Japi had no idea what he was talking about. She knew Sekenre's affiliation to butterflies--the one good impression his father left on him--but she certainly couldn't discern his meaning. "Okay...."
She turned back to Krillo. "I guess I should introduce you to my kids before I explain the details," she started, walking through the house to the back door, beckoning with her hand for the two to follow.

The pair followed her to the back.
"Its going to be interesting when she sees what butterflies Addy is playing with..."

"Hi Mommy!" Lilly exclaimed when Japi emerged from the house. "Look at all the butterflies." she pointed. "But none of them are interested in my Asters or Sweet Peas or Sunflowers." she would have listed off the other butterfly attracting flowers she had, but she figured her mother had gotten the idea.
It was then that she noticed the druid. "Hello," she waved shyly.

"Hi there sweety," Japi replied to her daughter. She looked at the butterflies the girl had indicated, swirling about her other daughter.
Looking closer, she realized they were definitely of Sekenre's making.
She was about to ask him what was going on when it happened.

When she heard her mother's voice, Addy fidgeted. Another butterfly found her a moment but backed off before it could land. Should she make a break for it? She opened her eyes slowly...
...and saw all the butterflies.
And that was just a little too much. Her concentration broke completely and all of the butterflies headed straight for her. She couldn't even move. She let out a squeak of fear as they dove for her.

ENOUGH. The word was not at all spoken or yelled. Instead, all in the area felt the word. It felt cold, still, ancient. It was a command that only the strongest of will could disobey.
The butterflies were still and with a wave of Sekenre's hand, they were gone.
"Its okay Addy, you can get up now. They're gone...for now."

What now? Run? Hide? Go for mother? No.
Addy stood up and immediately dashed over to where Sekenre stood and threw her fist toward his gut (a straight punch for one of her height). "What the hell?!"

Sekenre never moved but Addy's fist hit air. To Addy, contact was made with something. Sekenre's face was emotionless and showed no effort at creating the invisible force that stopped her fist inches from him. "Hell? Darling, you know nothing of hell." The area started getting dark and cold though it was still early afternoon. Sekenre's brow furrowed and he sent Addy tumbling back about ten feet. "NOW, Compose yourself child, lest I lose my patience, and even worse, become angry. First you shield the mind, then you shield the body, then it gets interesting. I'm surprised and even proud you lasted as long as you did; you show true promise, but you're going to need to keep complete focus even with distractions. I pray you never have to use these abilities to defend yourself, but in this family, who knows?
Now, I'll drop my guard, and if you still wish to connect with your fist you may, just realize the consequences that may and will most surely follow."
The skies lightened and the warm air returned. Sekenre just stood there waiting.
This is getting interesting. I better prepare a healing seed just in case.

Japi just looked at Sekenre, only slightly displeased. "You've never had a kid, have you, dear?" But she left the situation alone. They were still on the premises of her home and if for some reason it got ugly, she could still draw on the power from that room, though the front yard would have been closer.
But when Sekenre caused the clouds to darken, she began to worry. They were still in Gaia too. And that posed a whole new set of problems. While Gaia was used to a certain level of magic in some instances, it still had a slight problem with it. "Sekenre, might I suggest an alternative training ground?"

Addy didn't take up Uncle Sekenre's offer and instead just glared at him. Damned if she wouldn't be able to prove to him that she could do it. But instead of masking the feeling, she let it flow out of her.

"I see then, you've made your choice. Good. We'll continue later tonight. I want you to rethink what happened with the butterflies and see if you can't figure it out." He turned to Japi, "Why? Is there a problem out here? And yes Japi, I've had children; three boys, but because of what I am, I found it was better to leave them with their mother. I did visit them in my own ways."
"Sekenre, hear her out, perhaps a better training ground would benefit you both."

It was odd to argue with Sekenre again. It had been so long since they let their conversations become serious. But this was definitely a serious matter. She decided to let his treatment of Addy slide. It was probably for the best and she could sense her daughter learning and growing from the experience.
As for the matter of location, she took a deep breath to remove the anger from her voice. "Yes," she said now calm. "Gaia isn't a place of magic like we're both used to. It would be better to do all this inside."
She opened the backdoor again and indicated that they all should follow, even the children.
