Staring over Kanani's shoulder at the strangely flowing water, Zaphero found himself pondering something a little differently. In a way, the water's direction seemed encouraging to him; if it flowed up instead of down, they might be carried back to the surface rather than down deeper into the earth. And the fact that the water seemed to have a point of release, since there was no flooding here..... He smiled happily at Kanani. "Av kxo nukoh sud wok eik, je sud no." (If the water can get out, so can we). And who knows; perhaps it would be a fun ride. "I....go....first?"

Taking a moment to decipher what Zaphero said prior to the English, she smiled. A way out through the water! She nodded, and said, "Udt I we after." She thought that it'd be akin to a water park, though she had never gone on a waterslide before (much less one that flowed up rather than down).

Before nodding and taking a deep breath, Zaphero nodded once to Kanani with a 'wish me luck' expression before squeezing his eyes shut and leaping blindly into the water. His world turned black and his ears were full of the sound of the running water. He felt his body being blown around like a leaf caught in a tornado, feeling himself bumping harshly into rocks and other debris that he wasn't so sure about. Further in, he felt his side bang against a wall of the tunnel and caused him to open his mouth and gasp. Water rushed in, and he had just enough time to register that it was fresh water when suddenly he felt light shining on his face and the water suddenly dropped down.
Zaphero opened his eyes and saw bright sunlight shining down and water droplets flying past his head. He looked around him and was startled even more to find that he was high up off the ground, the sparkling beach at least 40 feet below him. The water he was in was jetting out of the mountainside in a stream, and looking down as he fell with the water, it was pooling in a deep, sparkling pond below. Sticking his legs all out, he cried "Whoa!" before he landed in the freshwater pond with a huge splash.
Paddling furiously, he soon righted himself and stuck his head out of the water to look back at where he had fallen. Sure enough, there was the mountain they had entered, with the water jetting out of it in a graceful arch. They must have come out on the other side of the mountain; how else could they have missed a spectacle like this? Smiling a little, he found a shallower spot and looked up at the top of the arch, waiting to see if his friend Kanani would come into view and wishing that he could tell her that it was alright, that it would be fun.
