As if it was a signal, Shinn gave a big yawn and Azrael turned toward his son. "Get some sleep Shinn. I'll get you up so you can talk to them in the day." He said.
Shinn nodded to his father and let Miluiel finish petting him before he stood up and bowed to Miluiel. "It was nice to meetcha', Le'elia!" He said before he went off into the family den.
Azrael watched him go off and then smiled. "He's a good cub. A bit curious, but good natured." He said. "He has the same coat as his mother." Azrael then bowed his head sadly. "But... I can't raise him here. The forest is dead, and I will have to move my pack somewhere else. We have more than enough food to last the winter here... but the animals have fled or died. I can't teach my son how to hunt, if there is nothing to hunt." He said looking into the flames of the fire pit.

Shera would continue to sleep as she seemed to be resting peacefully. Her body was still as the night itself. Her inability to move only growing with it. Her fever seemed to keep color upon her cheeks being red as a piece of fruit as her temperature slowly would drop a bit. It would not be enough however as she seemed to be having a hard time still with staying cool and warm at the same time. She would shiver from time to time, while at the same time tremble cause of the fever. She was fighting to survive this as best she could.

Miluiel waved goodnight to the pup. Once he was gone she looked at Azrael. "He is a wonderful child." The elf agreed. "He's very sweet." She closed her hand into a fist, missing the pup at her hand. "Would it be alright if I asked you what happened to her? I don't want to hurt you, or make you hurt. And I have only just met you, mere hours ago. I am sorry, I hope that there is still a place for you to go." Miluiel sighed. "Forgive me." She said looking into the fire.

Azrael bowed his head. "We were attacked. To this day, we are not sure by who... but we were attacked. She died taking down every last attacker..." He said to Miluiel. "He was barely old enough to chew his own food. My sisters have helped me raise him... but in his heart, he still misses her." He said softly.
Azrael looked to Shera. "There is little more I can do for her." He said concerned, but letting what needed to be, be done. "I know the use of some herbs but... I'm not a shaman. I know what I know because the others in the pack view me as the Alpha, as well as leading my family. Its the best I can do." He said, his tail resting limply on the wood floor.

"Oh dear, I am very sorry to hear that." Miluiel said reaching out to touch his arm in a calming way. "I see, I am sorry." Miluiel sighed, "I guess I was lucky then, I got to know my parents a bit before they were killed. It sounds like you have a good strong pack."
"You're doing a wonderful job, for what you know you are helping. She will recover with time. "Do not worry, the night is young, she will be alright."

Azrael sighed. "Thank you." He said to her. "We are a small pack, so it behooves us to be close and strong." He smiled at Miluiel. "Would you like something to eat? There's not much that is fresh, all we have is dried meat." He said apologetically.

Shera started to wake again as she opened her eyes. A moaning sound could be heard passing from her lips as she put her hand to her forehead. Her head ached from the fever that burned her. She didn’t know what else to do as it seemed like she would be fighting this fever awhile till she found that she had the strength to use her magic. She’d begin to use that very thing. Her magic might help speed the healing process along as she started concentrating enough to heal her body and ease the fever away.
A gentle glow would escape from her hand where it was on her forehead. It seemed to be the same light that was used to heal the tree now being used on her own body to heal it from the fever that tore through her body. She’d breathe a little heavily cause of this use of magic but eventually her breathing eased as her fever seemed to reduce to a mere cinder. She no longer was sweating anymore as she now laid still.
Her hand then would move to her side as she opened her red eyes having troubles seeing for a bit after being so feverish. “How long…have I been out?” Those were her words as she laid there. She knew that she might be able to help the forest the moment she recovered, but not a moment sooner.

Azrael looked to Shera. "I would say that you were out for about... an hour or so, I think. You seem to be doing better than you were earlier." He said to her. "That is an improvement. But you should still take it easy for now. I'm not the best at reading human expression, but you do still look a bit ill." He informed Shera.

Shera only nodded as she knew his words to be true. She needed to rest more, but not in the sleep sense. Her body needed a different kind of rest now. “I’ll be fine soon as my magic recovers. I may be able to help the forest about the village once I recover.” Her words were soft, but they were truthful in sound. The reason for her coming so far into the forest now revealed.

Miluiel nodded, "Yes, I would say you look better, was that your magic you just used on yourself?" She was impressed, she wished her magic, or abilities, were like that. Looking from Shera she smiled at Azrael, "That would be lovely, though I will only have a little bit, I don't want to take too much from your stash for your family, especially if I am to leave tomorrow." She wasn't sure if she was still suppose to leave in the morning, but she would see about that, hopefully at least she could offer them something in return for their kindness.

Azrael stood up. "Miluiel, I can sense that you are a good person. You do not have to leave tomorrow if you do not want to." He said to her. "And it won't be of too much strain. Shinn likes you, and you have shown me that you do not bear a grudge against me, my pack, or my family. You are welcome in my home." He said to her.
Azrael looked at Shera. "If you can do anything to help the forest, I would be very grateful to you. To give us some semblance of life would be more of great help." He walked into the back and came back with some of the dried meat for the two guests. He returned and smiled. "It is not a strain at all, as I have observed that elf and human appetites seldom compare with that of a werewolf's he said with a smile, handing each a cloth with a few long and fairly wide pieces of meat. "Its been cooked and salted, so you can just eat when your ready."

“My magic…Yes, it was my magic I used just now.” Shera would say this to Miluiel as she laid there. Her eyes continued to focus. Her ability to heal seemed quick, but not when she had now a slight fever to battle still; she was able to get rid of the part of the fever that was causing her the most troubles. Shera only hoped that soon she’d recover enough to finally get up and move about. Her body was still very weak and probably would be for some time. Shera would take the meat and eat it carefully. She knew she had to get some strength back before too long. It would not be wise to go without food for long. “Thank you. I will do my best to aid the forest, but I need my strength back first.”

Miluiel nibbled on the dried meat as she thought. "Thank you very much for the invitation." She said smiling, "Though I do hope that if I did stay that I could help you with something around here." She meant it. She wanted to help, to repay them for their kindness. She wrapped up the rest of the meat, only haven eaten a couple bites. That was the appetite for an elf with meat. "Thank you, it is very good." Miluiel complimented. "And thank you so much again for you offer."
Smiling at Shera, Miluiel nodded in agreement. "It only takes time, rest and you will be feeling much better by morning."

Azrael smiled, "Do not rush yourself. We need the forest, but it will do us no good if you are ill." He said to her. Azrael chuckled at Miluiel insistence at having something to repay them. It did makes sense to have something to do, but most of those things were already able to be taken care of. Suddenly an idea occurred to her. "If you could teach Shinn, about the other peoples of the world and of other things that are beyond his reach, then it would slate his curiousity as well and teach him the knowledge that might come in handy when I am not there with him." He said, he knew that Shinn liked her and he was a sponge when it came to knowledge.
