"Well. It's a part of the mountains. I'll just keep quiet. You'll understand when you see it." Nodding at her slightly, Axel was amused with himself at his inability to describe the location at least. There were a lot of things that Axel knew about and the landscape was one of them.
They were getting closer. "We're almost there. I don't want to spoil the surprise." He chuckled at her impatience. "We'll get there eventually so relax." Grinning once more, Axel kept walking at the same pace wondering if she would be bothered by that. He watched the trees go by and they were starting to thin. The mountains would be right in front of them in no time.
And then in appeared. They were approaching the base of the mountain and a cave came into sight. Nudging her to look at the cave opening, Axel remembered it quite vividly the last time he was here. "That, is where we're going. Hope you're not afraid." He said jokingly and grinned again at her.

It was the mountains. It wasn't the mountains and then it was again. Seraphia snarled slightly. It was starting to make her head hurt. Needless to say she was grateful that he wasn't going to say any more. Curiosity was not worth a headache.
At least it would be satisfied, eventually. She sighed a little. Somehow 'eventually' and 'almost there' didn't seem to fit together. The scenery, however, was shifting and giving the blonde mare a nice distraction from her impatient thoughts. The trees were growing further and further apart and before long she could see the rocky mountain bases.
She blinked a few times as he nudged her towards an opening in the rocks. This was where they were going? With her brows knitted together in mild confusion she looked up at him. "This is the place?" She asked sounding rather uncertain. Her wings ruffled as she turned to stare at it. It didn't look all that special to her. It did look dark.
She didn't think she was scared but the little voice in her mind was panicking. She silenced it and banished it to a corner before slowly stepping towards it. Whatever was inside had to be amazing, right?

Frowning, Axel heard her snarl and looked at the cave. "There's nothing wrong with it. It's dark but it holds something really special." He looked at her skeptically wondering if she would believe him or not. He didn't want her to be scared but he really wanted to show her this.
"Yes... this is the place." Stopping, Axel felt her tension and he looked at her with a concerned expression. "If you don't want to go in we don't have to." He would never make her do something she didn't want to. He looked at the cave once again and he remembered the treasures that lay inside.

"Inside?" Her expression shifted quickly to the look of a confused child. Tilting her head to the side she examined the cave once more. So the cave itself was not the special thing but what was inside it was. Golden eyes drifted sideways to look at the spiky headed stallion. The look on his face made her turn completely to look at him.
"I have not changed my mind." She said firmly glancing at the dark opening once more. "I still wish to see what is special to you and if that means stumbling through the dark then I will." Somehow just voicing the thought of wandering around in the black made her stomach churn. She wouldn't just back down though. She truly did want to see what was special too him.
"But..." She moved around behind him and nudged her face under one of his wings. "...You lead..." It was almost as though she believed the dark wouldn't be there if a certain Flame was leading the way.

Looking at her carefully wondering if she would be alright going into the cave. "Okay... well, if you want to go back out then you just tell me... It's not too far into the cave." Chuckling at her last comment, Axel nodded. "Yes, I will lead." Raising his wing, Axel placed it over her and pulled her in close. He would never leave her side.
Moving towards the opening of the cave, Axel looked into the impenetrable darkness and wondered if this was the right thing... Shaking the thought out of his mind, the stallion moved into the cave. Eyeing the walls, he noticed some familiar characteristics but they weren't far in enough. "A little bit farther..." Smiling down at her, Axel wanted her to feel more comfortable.

"I won't be backing out." She said stubbornly leaning a bit more against him. If it wasn't too far she would be fine. It wouldn't be anything hard. Her beloved Flame would be right there showing her the way. The moment they stepped into the darkness she started to have a few second thoughts. She bit her lip hard to send those thoughts fleeing from her mind in terror. She was going to be fine. It was only a little bit of blackness, on all sides.
Golden eyes shut quickly as Seraphia pressed more against her guide. She wouldn't back out but if she couldn't see that she was so far from the sun she wouldn't be so scared. The effect of having her eyes shut was actually less disorienting then having them open so far the time being she calmed. It was like sleepwalking she supposed.
When she heard his voice echoing about her she smiled. With her eyes shut, this was a pleasant dream. She relaxed but didn't move any further from his side. She was quite comfortable where she was even if it made walking slightly awkward. "Just tell me when we're there." She murmured softly sounding surprisingly peaceful.

He was glad that she seemed more comfortable. Out of the corner of his eye, Axel began noticing what he was looking for along the walls. The cave didn't go very far in and the pathway eventually ended and led to a small circular area. There were large stones everywhere glittering as the weak sun rays touched them. Against the wall, large crystals exposed themselves as he stopped in the middle of the room. "This is it..." The sight took his breath away every time.
"I'm not exactly sure what kind of rocks they are but... they're beautiful." The sun barely reached here but the little light that did made the crystals look beautiful. They were all over the walls and large pieces lined the floor. There was nowhere else like this.
"I hope... this was worth coming in here." That would have been a waste if Phia didn't even like things like this.

'This is it.' Seraphia took that as her cue and very slowly opened her eyes. The first thing she noticed was that it was not quite as dark here as it had been when she had closed her eyes. The second thing she noticed was that she was seeing spots. She panicked silently for a moment until she realized it wasn't her eyes.
"This is..." She said slowly slipping out from underneath his wing as she stepped closer to the walls. Her eyes shimmered in wonderment as she looked all around her. Gently she streched out her head and pressed her cheek against one of the chunks in the wall. The cool feel of the crystal sent a chill down her spine and her wings ruffled a little.
A thin smile spread across her lips and her eyelids closed partly. "This...is well worth a trip through the dark." She said turning her head to peer at the stallion through a thin veil of hair. "How is it that the most wonderful things are always waiting for me in the dark?" She tilted her head to the side allowing her bangs to fall away from her safe giving a better look at her eyes as a more alluring smile settled across her features.

For once, Axel felt a smile appear on his lips. It was the first time he really smiled when he was with Phia. He didn't smile often and it had to be a very special moment. He was glad that he seemed to redeem himself to Phia. And this proved that he would never let anything harm her. He was glad that he decided to show her this place. Even now, Axel couldn't help but look around and admire nature's workings.
"I am really glad you like it." His smile had lasted longer then normal but it eventually disappeared and he turned his head to look at her. "There's just something really beautiful about this place even though it is in darkness." Nodding, Axel really was just taking in the moment. "We can leave when you wish."

"That may very well be an understatement." She murmured as golden irises feel on green. She had never seen anything like this before in her life. This was largely do to the fact that she avoided areas that lay beyond the sun's reach for the most part. She had to agree with the red-headed stallion; there was something beautiful about this place. Yes, it was rather dark and even a little bit chilly but in almost every direction there was a breath taking sight.
Seraphia allowed her eyes to wander around the enclosure. They paused for a moment on what she assumed was the exit. It wasn't beautiful that way. She shuddered lightly thinking that they would have to go back that way eventually in order to get to back to the sun. For the life of her she couldn't quite figure out why the journey to anything always seemed so horrible even if the destination was good. Why couldn't they just stop being horrible? She glowered out at the dark silently promising to kill it if it did not stop being dark. It only took her a few moments to return to her previous demeanor after delivering her promise and her old smile returned to her lips.
"I think...we should stay a bit longer..." She said turning her face away from the darkened passageway. "If that is alright?" The winged mare was well aware that he had said that they could leave when she wished but she still felt as though she should ask.

Grinning crookedly, Axel thought about the first time he discovered this place. It took his breath away and he spent several days here before re-emerging back into the world. He saw this as a representation of himself and it gave him hope; even in this darkness, he could be something good. "I can't even begin to express how glad I am that you like it." He was worried that she would run at the sight of the cave; he was so glad that she trusted him enough to go inside.
"Whatever you want." Axel replied while nuzzling her gently. That slightly surprised him because it was still... very dark in here. But everything seemed perfect because he was where he felt most comfortable and Phia was by his side. The combination couldn't have been any more amazing.

She could see no reason not to like it really. It was beautiful. A bit dark and getting in was no laughing matter but it was beautiful and well worth it.
She smiled and leaned against him at the touch. Her eyes sliding shut part way. "Just a little longer...so I'll always remember..." She was far from worried about forgetting this place. The moment she had opened her eyes the sight had been engraved in her memory. Every second longer she spent in the crystal filled area the better things seemed to get however. She didn't want to put an end to everything.
Her hunt could and would wait. It was okay. Her job wasn't as important, right?
