(( For my future reference, who is Kikaru sharing a room with? ))
Kikaru bowed again. "Thank you." She waited until Kyoku walked away before she turned and slid open the door to her room, walked in and slid it closed. She looked around, there were two palets on the floor so far. "Pretty..." She whispered and put her bag down on the floor beside her and walked around to look at the rest of the room.

kairisesshy ((for reference, we have one bathroom downstairs, no sinks or such in ouor rooms 3nodding )) Kyoku smiled and picked up the towel calmly. "Kikaru, your room is this one here, second room to the right." She motioned down the hall and then turned to Mameo. "Come with me Mameo-chan, i'll help you with your hair." with a calm look o her face she took Mameo's hand and led her down the hall to her private bedroom. Mameo nodded, quite embarrassed, "I'm sorry, onee-chan." Then she followed Kyoku into her bedroom and tugged at her own hair and at once began talking quitetly but huried, like she had to explain. "Mama says I'm cursed and she makes me dye it every morning in ink. I don't know why she hates it, she says the devils have cursed me and that it is my fault as I was born when my papa was away at battle, I was born the day he lost his leg... she says it's my fault... but I didn't mean to, I didn't mean to..." she said, her face turing red and silent tears falling to the carpet like rain. She tugged and pulled at her wet hair, hoping to make it somehow go away.

Kyoku walked over to her makeup stand as Mameo struggled to explain her hair. "Come here Mameo-chan" Kyoku's voice was soft and gentle as she pulled the girl infront of the covered mirror. "Your hair is not a curse and your mother is wrong." Kyoku then bent down and snatched away the square of silk that had been covering the mirror revealing the reflection of Mameo tugging her hair. Pushing Mameo gently to her knees, Kyoku took out an underused hair brush (her hair is always done up, why she would have a brush i dont know XD)
"Your hair is beautiful, you dont need to hide it." Slowly kyoku pulled mameo's long red hair fron her hands and began to brush it till it was smooth. "And the only reason your father lost his leg is because men are fools that think fighting solves everything. Does your father blame you? Devils havent cursed you, your hair could be a blessing if you used it right! What man could ever forget you? That beautiful geisha with the stunning hair..." Kyoku continued to talk soothingly as she styled mameos hair till it was up in a simple yet lovely complex of coils.
"Here, why dont you have these. i cant wear them anymore and they would certainly look stunning in your hair." Kneeling down if front of a dresser she pulled out a small black laquered box. Opening it in front of mameo she revealed a red velvet lining that craddled a gorgeous green laquered comb with emeralds and sapphires set in a flower pattern. Underneath the comb were two matching floral kanazashi (the stick with lots of flower cascades) The securing sticks were made of green jade.
"These were a gift when i was a maiko from my older sister. She's passed away since then, and only a maiko can wear them. I think you should have them" Delicatly, Kyoku set the box down in between them so it was facing Mameo.

After a while of examining things, Kikaru went back and picked up her bag. She sat down on the edge of her pallet, and set her bag down beside her. She undid the clasps that held it closed and pulled out a hairbrush, before setting it in her lap. She reached up and uncoiled her decent length hair. She picked up the brush and began running it through her hair carefully. As she did this she hummed softly to herself.

It was beautiful and probably worth more than her whole house had been. She smiled and turned around complusivly hugging Kyoku. The she suddenly remembered her place and she withdrew, bowing slightly, "Thank you Onee-chan." Mameo reached up to her hair to put it in and realized she had no idea how to. She look at herself quizally in the mirror.

Ryoko stood in the hall a bit confused because her Onee-chan had not showen her where her room is. "The short factor has done it again....She forgot about me" Ryoko said to herself as she walked down to her Onee-chan's room and taped on the door lightly. "Please forgive me for bothering you, but I was not told where my room is?" she said as she steped back to wait for a reply...

"While you decide what bed you want, I am going to fetch my belongings." Iyasu said to Momo before she left the room. Getting things sorted out in the okiya will be very interesting indeed. There seems to be only one geisha in the either entire okiya. However, Kyoku-san will able to train each maiko will be a great feat!
While walking down the hall to the stairs she glanced into each room to see everyone. Each one of the girls seemed very nice, which is good. She hoped it would remain this way, being kind to one another. It's the competition that tears sisters apart, however it is the mother that brings back together.
If Iyasu ran into anyone along her mini journey to the stairs she bowed to them (to be polite) and continued on her way. As she came to the landing of the stairs she raised the hem of her kimono just enough to walk down the stairs. At the last step she looked around the first floor. The young lady gathered up her belongings, after exploring the first floor, and went back upstairs to her room.

Kyoku's lips parted in a wide smile, lighting her face up. "I'll help you with that little mameo-chan." She paused though, when she heard the soft tapping on the shoji doors. "Just one second then." She stood up in one movement, lifting her body straight up into a standing postion. Walking silently to the door she opened it some. "Yes, im sorry i must've forgotten in all the chaos. Here let me show you." Glancing back to Mameo and telling her that she would be back in a bit, Kyoku stepped out and walked down the stair with the new maid in tow.
"This is the recieving hall..." She gestured towards the main door and the small closet where the shoes were kept. "When someone comes to the door, go and greet them, take thier shoes and then take them here." Again she pointed towards another, larger room. "Seat them and ask if they would like any tea." Kyoku looked back and smiled "This is our personal room here.." She slid open the screens and walked thru the multi-purpose room. "Feel free to relax here if you happen to have some free time. Behind here is the kitchen and that door to the left takes you to the maids quarters, which is where you will stay along with any other maids." Smiling once more kyoku opened the doors to the hall that had the rooms along it. "Choose whichever one you like and make yourself at home. I'll leave you to get settled then."

Mameo nodded and sat and looked at her refection as she waited patiently for Kyoku to return. She twired her fingers in a small strand of hair that had fallen in her face. She looked in the mirror and began to make funny faces and squinted her eyes and looked at the deep green mist that looked back at her. She sighed and got up and tried to do a dance she had seen a geisha do before and was dumbfounded at how the steps came so easily to her. She feet moved so lightly, and her movements slow and graceful but powerful, moving and beautiful.

She lugged her belongs up the stairs and into her room down the hall. Iyasu noticed as she entered into the room that Momo had decorated her half of the room a little. It looked lovely. However, where was her room mate?
The other maiko set her two, semi-heavy suitcases on to her bed and began to unpack. She opened up one suitcase and found only clothing. Iyasu set the suitcase on the floor and opened the other one on her bed. It revealed a comforter and a few other items for her bed. She took the items out and made her bed.
The hazel eyed girl collasped onto her bed and pondered where her roomy might be. She was probably socializing. Which is what she should probably do as well, however the bed was so comfy that she decided to lay there a for while (ten minutes or so) and rest. The fun may begin tonight at the tea house.
