'What was I doing in that tree?' With all the excitement, Morgan had forgotten why she had even come to her favorite spot. She put her hands into the pockets of her robe absentmindedly. 'Oh, da... Sorin.' Her fingers closed around her brothers letter. She looked up at the tree where she was sitting, half tempted to swing back up there. "My brother had written me a letter. I was reading it." Simple enough. "What were you doing here?"

Moira watched as the younger Gryffindor settled herself on the blanket. She seemed to be more at ease, at least in comparison to the situation she had found the girl in earlier. Placing her empty mug carefully on the blanket next to herself, Moira leaned back onto her forearms and turned her face to the sky. Shutting her eyes she thought, it's wonderful to be able to sit like this. She didn't get a lot of quiet time with Edgar around, but she didn't notice enough to miss it. Opening one eye, Moira looked at Kari, "What were you here for? Down by the lake I mean."

Kari opened her eyes and looked over at Moira. "I wanted to see the water. It has such freedom. It can flow wherever it wants with no restraint except itself." She responded gently. "We have a little pond in our backyard back at home. I used to spend a lot of time sitting by it and watching the fish as they swam." She looked down at her lap and smiled.

Seamus listened as the red head explained. He was confused. The way she said it, did she always read letters in trees? Or was it just her brothers? And why trees? Weird. He supposed with what he'd seen that day, women falling out of trees was the least weird. Seamus brought his focus back to Morgan as she asked why he was there. He ran a hand through his hair, rubbing the back of his head. "Bored."

Moira smiled as Kari described her pond. "That sounds really wonderful. I always wanted to live near the water, any kind really, but I haven't been so lucky. Plus my brother, he's young still, and can't swim well. Makes my parents nervous." Someday though. She wanted a huge yard when she lived on her own. With a trellis and gardens. And a Quidditch pitch, while she was dreaming she might as well dream big.

Kari looked over, an eyebrow arched. "You have a brother? A little brother? That's wonderful. I've always wanted a brother, older or younger, preferably older, but I haven't been so lucky myself." She said, echoing some of Moira's words with her own. She smiled to herself. Oh how she would have loved an older brother. Someone she could depend on, annoy, and have fun with.

Moira beamed. "He's only six. He's great and annoying and perfect and terrible." She laughed a little, aknowledging her ability to gush about Edgar. "He's my parents pride and joy too. We're all really lucky to have him. But there sure are times that I get fed up with him and all. Do you have any siblings?" She felt self conscious suddenly, worrying that all her gushing would make the younger girl sad.

Kari smiled brightly as Moira spoke about her little brother. He sounded absolutely adorable. Kari then shook her head to Moira's question. "Nope. I'm an only child, and though it does get a bit lonely sometimes, I still like it this way." She wondered if she truely meant what she said. She supposed she did, for the moment.

Chewing her lip, Moira confided, "Technically I'm an only child too, I think. My parents adopted me. Found me really, and took me in. S'why Edgar's so much younger than me. " It felt good to get it out, although she felt bad, blurting it out to a new aquaintance. She dropped her eyes and set about picking bits of grass from her red knee high socks. They matched the red of her house colors perfectly, and she had bought many pairs. Socks were her favorite.

"I see." Was Kari's simple reply. There was really nothing else left to say about the matter. Stretching her arms above her head, she then placed them behind her head and glanced above her, at the sky.

Moira picked her eyes up from her feet and ran her eyes over their surroundings. Still no Judas. She continued to peruse, her eyes finding Seamus and Morgan. She was glad to be far off from him, his attitude in Potions had irked her. And after the incident before with Kari, Moira didn't want him to make her day any worse. Finally, her eyes fell upon the lake. She pondered what the younger girl had said. It did seem free.

After a few more minutes of looking at the sky, Kari got up and stretched her arms above her head, and stretched out her legs as they were beginning to cramp. She then sighed silently and placed her hands behind her back, stood there, and looked over towards the lake.

He was barefoot. He was shirtless. His hair had virtually no gel, and he did not have his earrings in. Looking about as normal as a boy wearing nothing but long navy shorts could, Joel was running around the grounds as he had been for the past hour and a half. Quidditch is starting up, I really need to get back into shape before I go beating things in the air. As he ran he had his wand in his hand, his fingers gripping the piece of fancy wood harder and softer in even intervals. Not only did this improve circulation, but it also distracted him from the pain in his feet. After his running was slowed to a smooth jog, Joel had to stop, his head throbbing from several blond moments (and a few open doors), as well as the uncomfortable feeling his feet was giving.
With a few soft breaths Joel looked over towards the lake, seeing two ravishing ladies. Oooh, Joel, back down. You love Sophinette. Yes....Though, Moira is a sweetheart, I should totally go say hello.
Running as nicely as he could, Joel tried to envision himself as one of the lifeguards running on Baywatch, however, that was just his imagination, he looked nothing like that.
"Hey! Moira!" With a smile, he ran over to her side, hoping that the fact that he only had jeans on wouldn't be to 'intimidating' to a single lady such as herself.

Moira turned her head to the voice that had called her name. It was Joel. "Hey. Long time no see." She had been hoping it was Judas, she was hungry after all, but she hadn't seen Joel for quite some time, and she wasn't too disappointed. She moved the picnic basket off the blanket to make room for him, if he chose to sit. Remembering her manner she quickly pointed to her younger companion, "Kari, Joel. Joel, Kari."

"Well thank you for clearing me a seat Ms.Moira. And it has indeed been a long time no see." With a wink, Joel looked over towards a Miss Kari.
Before sitting down, Joel did a rather eloquent bow and a nod, then he relaxed on the picnic basket.
"Why Moira, what has been going on since the train ride? I do believe that I have yet to get my mittens. Come to think of it, I didn't get a scarf either." Of course he was joking, yet on some scale he did indeed wish that he would get a scarf. On the other hand, the temperature was starting to warm up, so the necessity for scarfs and mittens were greatly decreasing.
Relaxing a little more, Joel leaned back on the blanket, his left leg propped up on top of his bent right leg, his hands behind his head to cushion against the ground. He looked rather normal, his thoughts were not anything improper, and his hands were to himself.
Oh good gracious. What is happening to me. It is like I have already been committed. Oh dear. Well, I can still flirt right? Yes, I may not be officially Sophie's, but to some extent I am. Right. Wrong?
Shoot. I guess I'll find out later.

"You look ravishing Moira I must say. And you smell even better." The ironic part of that statement, was the fact that his eyes were closed, and his moderately tanned skin was only getting tanner as he lied in the sun.
