Why did you join band? Because I was a fast learner in my middle school's drumline, and my BD recommended me to Beg. Band (6th grade.) I found my calling when I joined. Why did you pick the instrument that you did? I thought it'd be cool playing drums, and I figured I could do something with it later. What do you think you would be doing if you didn't join the band? Being a loser. And lifeless. Band is the only thing that keeps me interested. What instrument, if any, would you play if you didn't pick the one you did? I don't think I'd pick another instrument.

I joineed band cuz it sounded fun and cool when the middl school band teacher told us about it so I decided to play the flute. It seemed really fun. I ditched band last year for Drama but now that I'm gonna be a freshman I'm going into the symphonic band. And I just really love to play its so much fun.

Why did you join band? To get away from accelerated math. But also since like 3rd grade I had wanted to join. I just loved the way the band would sound when marching and at concerts.
Why did you pick the instrument that you did? If I wouldn't have we wouldn't of had any French Horns. Though later on in the year a students house burnt with her instrument in it so she changed to french horn.
What do you think you would be doing if you didn't join the band? Accelerated Math. D = Or something really, really boring. Every year it changes. Different classes at different times. We usually have band during first or last period.
What instrument, if any, would you play if you didn't pick the one you did? I would prolly pick Violen,Clarinet, or Precussion. Maybe Trumpet or Piano. I love the way they sound.

I joined band because my older siblings had been in band. My brother was drum major at his high school when I was a sixth grader, and my sister played baritone. I'd played piano for six years before, and really, there was no way I wouldn't join band. I picked my instrument, the French horn, because I liked how it looked and sounded (stupid, I know, but whatever). I probably would have played alto saxophone if not horn, but I don't think I would have liked it as much. I joined marching band for about the same reasons - my sister was in it, I'd watched all of my siblings' contests and games, and I loved marching band. I am now in college, majoring on horn in performance and education.

Lessee... I joined band because I was in 6th grade and said "Hey, why not?" xD And I've loved it ever since.
I picked flute because... actually, I have no idea why. I was going to pick french horn but for some reason that I still can't figure out, I changed my mind at the last minute. I guess it was meant to be 'cause I'm an awesome player now...
If I didn't join band I'd be very, very bored. o_o Like, half my life is spent doing band stuff. practicing, organizing, hangin out with the band director's family (I'm pretty much part of it now... o_o). Being a section leader and band president means thinking about band all the time. I dunno what's gonna happen after I graduate. D:
If I had to pick another instrument... I'd pick low brass or low woodwinds... I love bass sound. Even though I'm a flute. xD

Why did you join band? My guard instructor told me they were having tryouts for the high school. I loved what I was doing so I tried out. ^-^ If I knew all the work that would've been involved I prolly wouldn't done it, but I'm soooooo glad that I did. I would never give it up. whee
Why did you pick the instrument that you did? colorguard. because i joined it as my last period enrichment in middle school
What do you think you would be doing if you didn't join the band? I would probably be doing nothing but being a fatass and reading.
What instrument, if any, would you play if you didn't pick the one you did? Prolly percussion or piccollo, I like the high tone and the uplift that an awesome cadance can bring.

I joined band because music literally is my life. I grew up around, and i always wanted to play it I wanted to play tuba, but my brothers told me to start on trumpet and see if i wanted to move on...i dont. If I wasnt in band...my life would really suck I grew up banging drums, now i actually play them. I wouldve ended up playing that in band, but why would I if I already knew how to.

Well, My entire family had been a part of the band program at some point. So, at the beginning I felt obligated to join band. Then, after my first year in Band I was hooked. I loved being able to look at notes on a page and turning them into sweet music. I also loved being able to play all the songs that I knew. You know, like Jingle Bells. Ever since then I knew that I loved Band, and I was glad that I had joined in the first place.

To be honest, the reason I picked band over chorus was because I get allergies in the fall and the spring and wouldn't be able to sing. XD
And at the 'try an instrument!' night, I was able to make decent noise out of all of them except the frigging oboe.
So technically I could have done any instrument we had available. But I knew I was getting braces soon soooo I picked percussion, thinking braces would affect how I'd play a wind.
I wouldn't have it any other way. heart
I love proving everyone wrong by being a decent female percussionist. We're a dying breed, y'know. D:

Well, my mom wanted me to be in orchestra, but I didn't. so i compromised and joined band. If I knew marching band would be this fun, I'd have joined without having to compromise

i joined band because i wanted to play a cool instrument...since my mom made me quit my other one. Although now that i think about it,the flute isnt that cool... sweatdrop it does sound nice though and i do want to get back into practicing it. but the french horn is much cooler. I love my section more than anything. they are soo funny. blaugh but i dont really like playing the horn that much...its really hard. xp plus it was like having free lessons. Im really glad i did join band and stuck with it. i made lots of friends that i hope to keep in touch with while Im away at college this fall
