Rika Nemendi Ok for starters why the hell would anyone make a band room with carpet!!! Thats so stupid! I have a tile floor but umm I'm pretty sure that its close to 30 years and the floor has never been cleaned, isn't that gross? Its so discusting to think about but I don't mind that much. Ewwww a carpet floor, yuck, wouldn't your shoes like sink into the floor when you walked by the brass players? None of the schools in my district have carpet floored band rooms... But in a richer community, the schools there have carpet floors. o.o Maybe they have the students empty their spit into the sinks?

OhEmGeeGhost I personally dont like going to the band room because how dirty it is!!! @_@ Imagine all that spit going into the carpet (cause where would all the spit from your instrument go,when ppl empty the valves, the CARPET xd ) and how much goes into the air it like your inhaling spit!!!! sweatdrop actually, its just water in the air. stuff other than that stays in the carpet

Never heard of a band room or actually any school having carpet besides the isle in the auditorium. Doesn't seem like the best place to have it.
I could imagine how carpet would look in our band room. The third row would be a mess since we're usually the ones who have the most spit on the floor by the end of the practice.

I have no idea how long our band room's been around, maybe between fifteen and twenty years. But I bet there's about seventy million years' worth of spit stored up in that carpet. I'm a woodwind player, and I find that absolutely revolting. It's so gross if you think about it too much. Bleh.

My school is only 2 years old, so only about 2 yars worth, but my band emptys a lot of spit into the carpet, so the spit amount is probably at 3 years or so.

ok this happened a couple of days ago. Our band's percussion are a weird bunch, especially if they get stuck playing the bells. they all like the snare drum better. anyway, one of the trombones was playing all freaky and so of course half the clarinet section (the half the never plays) was turned around staring at him. He finally emptied his valve (into the percussion section), and the percussion playing the bells behind the trombones SPAZZED. One of them especially. He was like he just flippin emptied his spit right here! And our band director was really mad at the guy for interupting, so he said all exasperatley, its not spit its CONDENSATION! the ENTIRE band just cracked up. it took forever for everyone to stop laughing. And the percussion were still grumbling later because our band room has no carpet, so the "condensation" was there for the rest of the hour xd our band is STRANGELY AMAZING 3nodding

lol i have a funny story about that once a trombon-er (hehe) didnt know how to empty his spit valve and after three weeks of playing he thought his trombone was broken because it wouldnt make a sound and the BD asked if he had emptied his spit valve. once he did the spit made a huge puddle. i swear you could swim in it it was disgusting. i rofled until i did this----> burning_eyes lol

hehe, a hard floor would be worse. when we went to district i was trying not to slip in all the spit on the stage. we get a new carpet every few years. the current one is three years old

45+ years and still the original carpet..., I can't count how many toxic molds there are in our band room and band room carpet from all the years of spit.... and our school is ancient... i'm actually surprised the newer schools still have carpet... its not really that acoustically sound or correct...

our band room has never been carpeted, thank god.
two years ago we got new tiles put in, and after two marching seasons they look a million years old. they are permanently stained with mud and shoe marks from summer band, and all the spit stains from concert season. mmmm, band.

Let's just say there's so much spit in the carpet of my bandroom, that the carpet has had it's colours washed out in uneven places. And that it is very spongey. Specially near the brass section.
