The Bosek heard the familiar sound of chanting behind her. With an almost grotesque smirk she turned to see her opponent and the spell between his hands fizzle. Then he fell into the ground to hide again. "Well then, that makes sense. Should be a pretty easy fight, if that's all he's gonna do."
Urzula began walking toward the center of the ring and raised her axe into the sky. "Is this what you all came to see?" she shouted to the crowd. "A game of cat and mouse? I thought this was supposed to be a FIGHT!" If the crowd started to yell it could hasten the little mage's moves. And Urzula would be waiting around fully rested, and ready to strike down the waste of her time.

Having fully recovered his sight after that unexpected failure, Terran moves off to get behind the Bosek again. at least she's yelling again...seems we've got a talker on our hands....
On his way, he draws his own axe. As soon as the crowd roars, he rises up from the ground, and strikes at his opponent.

((Oh, wow, didn't see you guys were already going at it in here! Nice. Okay, a couple of things - Aidan, your turn was emerging from the hole and casting Hand of the Chamber. That was your action and movement, so you wouldn't be able to end with diving back into the hole (a second movement). You would be completely vulnerable to Urzula's counter attack. Also, I'm afraid your Critical Failure is more than a bright flash and bang. You'll lose an additional 3 Mana for the failure. Rakinu, since you haven't used your action or movement yet (not really, anyway), you notice Aidan's head still sticking up out of the hole and are free to take your turn.))

((agility (5) +combat melee (5) +10= 20 sucess!!))
Terran focuses completely on the strike, and it seems to hit! ((strength (2) +1d10 (4)+6=12 granted, it isn't much, but at least it hit.))
"Is this more what you were thinking of, troll?" Aidan taunts, as he begins to sink back into the ground

((the way i understood burrow was that it caused the ground to become like water to me, so that i merely had to stop keeping myself up in order to sink."This ability allows the character to treat the ground as though it were water to him (though he may still walk on it normally until he chooses to submerge) – therefore, it can potentially be used to circumvent falling damage by “diving” into the earth from up high"...sorry if i was wrong))

((You're right on how burrow works, but you have to understand that turns often happen simultaneously - real battles are never "you go, I go". So to try and simulate that, everyone gets one movement and one action on their turn. Sinking back down into the earth would be a new movement and since you already used one on your turn, it's not fair to let you have two.))
((Rakinu - you get to defend against the attack, FYI, with an Agility+Defense feat. You don't have to just take it on the chin. wink For simplicity's sake, we'll say you rallying the crowd counted as your turn. For that, you gain a +1 bonus to hit and defend until the end of your next turn.))
((Oh, and one more thing, Aidan. Your modifier to hit with your spells is Will+Geomancy rank. Since you're rank 1, and you have a 4 will, you have a +5 modifier to hit.))

((I'm not fully sure what's going on right now (considering I've yet to take an action and now Aidan has had two... c.c() ) but it's not a big deal. And I know I have a defense, but I'm not taking it. As I recall armor stops its value as straight damage reduction, therefore Urzula would be a pretty cocky fighter. It takes a lot to hurt her, so she'd probably purposely take a hit or two. ^^))
While Urzula taunted Aidan for running and hiding, Aidan was making progress toward an attack, if you could call it that. The little man had slid out of the ground and lunged forward in an attack with his puny little axe.
The elf's taunt almost made her laugh. "I didn't ask for a love tap," Urzula says as his blade bounces off of a strap on her armor and doesn't even leave a cut. "But at least it's a start."
When Urzula sees the little man begin to slide back into the ground again, she lunges forward and attempts to grab him before he sinks out of view again. "Get back here ya runt."
((Result=Natural success. I'll wait for the defense before I determine the result.))

WHAT! How? Well, now I see how well i learned Juna-sensei's lessons...Terran thinks. although, she never would have expected me to have to use it against such a...well...large opponent
Terran surprises himself, by actually remembering how to block...after all, it isn't like he was such a bad student...just focused on his magics...

"Slippery little bugger..." Urzula says as the little elf boy falls back into the ground. "It's like trying to catch a worm." Urzula was once again left with no avenue of attack since the creep was underground again. She leans on her axe feigning a yawn to please the crowd and began a quick chant. Secretly she performs the gestures necessary to channel the magic to turn her shadow into two tendrils. The next time the little elf surfaced, he would not get away.

Terran jackknifes away from his position, then rises, again, behind the Bosek. As his head breaks the surface, he hears a light chant, and notices the shadow tendrils coalescing.
So, she can cast as well? this IS interesting... he thinks to himself, as he begins to cast Tangle (3mp)
((will (4)+power (3)+ 8=15)) Vines erupt around Urzula...

The ground beneath her started to shift, and though her armor did not appear very restricting it did hinder her quite a bit. As the vines snaked their way up around her she did her best to leap out of the way. While doing so, her shadowy tendrils slipped through the air to attempt to grapple the Elven magician, and current nuisance.
((I'm rolling a die for defense and two for two unarmed shadow attacks: Defense failed two shadows manage to grapple though.))

((No need to roll defense for Urzula - his Geomancy spell failed...barely. Remember, you have a +6 modifier to hit with Geomancy? Will (4) + Geomancy rank (2)? So tangle failed. Sorry...you'll need to evade the shadow tendrils now and since you used your turn trying to cast Tangle, Urzula will get to act again as soon as you roll your defense feat.))
