Aras smiled warmly as Rhea nuzzled against her cheek. For some reason, it made her feel warm inside ... and very, very happy. She wasn't homesick for her father anymore ... she wasn't worried about Corrah ... she wasn't even worried about Ruran. She was just plain at peace.
She looked up as Corrah told them to rest. Her breath was surprisingly not too bad - she was only a little short on breath, and she seemed to have made out better than her siblings. Perhaps it was because she'd been distracted, and hadn't really been worrying about it ... she couldn't tell. At any rate, she decided, it didn't really matter why she wasn't as affected as them, it only mattered that she wasn't.
She followed Rhea over to the brook and smiled at him. "I'm coming," she called up to him, somehow understanding, without him saying anything to her, that he was waiting for her.
Corrah glanced over at Armus and gave her a pointed look, and she moved to speak with him softly for a moment. After only a short conversation, she nodded to him and disappeared into the trees, and Corrah looked at the children.
"Take all of the time you need," he told them softly. "And be careful ... Ruran, you are going to make yourself sick."

Rhea smiled his tail wagging a bit. He was unaware of the comfort he could bring to Aras.
He just waited then walked to the spring with Aras. He lowered his head to lap up the water and smiled up at her.
Kanis felt herself falling into a light doze.
Ruran stopped drinking though he wanted more and sighed, "I won't not want to drink after the wolf drools all over it anyway." He said and moved to sit in a shady spot.
He could not help but wonder where Armus was running off too.

Aras looked over at Ruran, hearing his comment, and she frowned at him.
"What's your problem?" she asked him, folding her arms across her chest and standing protectively in front of Rhea. "Just because he's different from you doesn't mean anything. Don't be so mean, Ruran!"
Her teal eyes flashed dangerously, her jaw set in anger.
Corrah felt the hairs on the back of his neck prickle in warning, but for the moment he just stayed where he was, watching to see how this would play out.

Ruran tensed and balled his hands into fists, "You can't tell me what to do Aras...you don't have the strength to make me be nice." he glared at her. "I don't have a problem with the little mutt he will probably run off soon enough or get shot by a hunter!"
Rhea turned and moved half infront of Aras growling threateningly. He was not going to let her get hurt.
Kanis opened her eyes and sat up rubbing her head. She sighed were Aras and Ruran at it again?

Aras clenched her jaw and her eyes narrowed as she glared at her brother, but before she could say anything else, she realized that Rhea was also getting riled up and seemingly trying to protect her. She didn't want him to get hurt ... which was going to happen if a fight ensued. Ruran didn't know how to play fair - let alone fight fair.
She forced herself to relax and put one hand on Rhea's shoulder to calm him.
"Let it slide," she murmured softly, her eyes never leaving her brother's face. "He's nothing but trouble."
Corrah relaxed slightly, though he kept a wary eye on Ruran.
Armus returned just then, holding what looked like a wrapped parcel, and she looked at the children curiously. "Something happen?" she asked, handing the bundle to Corrah.

Rhea felt the hand on his head and without taking his eyes off of Ruran he stopped growling and his tail started to wag softly. He snorted his distake of the other male and nuzzled Aras' leg.
Kanis let out a breath. At least she would not have to step up. She did think it was a tad unfair that her brother never had someone on his side. He was very hard to like. And she could not help but envy the way her sister looked with Rhea.
She sighed and looked down.
Ruran smirks, "You don't know trouble yet Aras...but I garentee you will find out when your little flea bitten mutt is not around." He turned away from her and went back to enjoying the shade.

Aras scratched behind Rhea's ear gently, then knelt to drink from the river. The water was cool and clear, and it trickled down her throat like a refreshing rain sprinkling overhead, and she felt refreshed right away. She waded out of the brook, sitting on the bank with just her feet in the water.
Corrah frowned gently, taking the bundle from Armus. He wasn't sure anymore if this was a good idea ...
"When you are all rested," he spoke up suddenly, brushing his cowl away from his face, his scars standing out in the sudden sunlight, "I have something for all of you."

Rhea nuzzled the hand and moved to follow Aras laying down next to her. He placed his head in her lap when she sat down. Though hearing Corrah's words he turned to look at him shifted on hand to rest on Aras' thigh.
Kanis turned, "Something for us?" She walked over towards Corrah. "What is it masters?"
Ruran raised head and stood up walking over towards Corrah. "I am rested sir..."

Aras had just gotten comfortable when Corrah called them over, and she looked down at Rhea curiously.
"Do you know what this is about?" she asked him softly as she stood slowly to her feet.
Armus moved to sit next to Corrah, on the ground beside the rock he was on, looking very much like a student next to her master. But she was smiling brightly - albeit solemnly - at the children, which seemed ... somewhat out of place.
Corrah nodded at Kanis and Ruran, then looked over at Rhea and Aras. "Come," he called them softly.

Rhea shook his head. He was enjoying Aras letting him close. He sighed and stands as she did.
He heard Corrah's comand and fearing getting yelled at again he trotted over towards the alpha's and the other pups of the pack. He sat down and his tail wagged softly.
Kanis stood with her arms behind her back waiting for what would be happening.

When the children were close enough and all paying attention, Corrah began to unwrap the bundle in his arms. He untied it slowly, carefully, as if the contents were fragile, and once it was open he spread the cloth and held it up.
Hanging on the cloth, tied to it, were several long, sharp pairs of knives - assassin's knives, they were called - and each set was different, either in colour or design.
"These blades," he said softly, her icy blue eyes glowing softly, "are for you ... once you have progressed enough in your training. Aras ... Kanis ... Rhea ... Ruran ... you will train with these eventually, and at that time they will become your own ... but until that time ... they will remain something to look forward to ... perhaps an incentive to do what I ask for the moment, even if you find it dull."
He looked pointedly at Ruran through half-lidded eyes.
"But ... you must also remember ... that I will not tolerate trouble," he warned. "So."

Kanis' eyes grew wide, "They are for us one day?" She could not believe that Corrah would give them such wonderful gifts. Even if she thought a sword would be her best weapon a dagger was always good to keep close, she would be honored to one day rely on just a beautiful gift for her survival. She just wanted to reach out and touch the handle but has her hand moved forward wanting to just stroke the flat of the blade or the beautiful handle she moved it to wipe at her eyes. She didn't know which of the blades he would gift her with after all.
Rhea tilted his head looking at the blades he had never seen such things well not that were not strapped to Corrah's back. He smiled and leaned forward to sniff at them his tail wagging softly.
They were very pretty.
As soon as the blades were unveiled Ruran's eyes did not leave them. He looked over each one and when his eyes fell upon the two blades marked in red patterns he knew he had found his. He could already see them covered in his enemies and even his family's blood.
A wicked little smile crossed his face as his dark mind drifted off. And he nods, "Very nice incentive sir.."

Aras's eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped with awe. They reminded her a very little bit of the knives her father used, though his didn't look nearly as deadly - or, at the same time, as beautiful.
She couldn't believe they were for them.
Corrah nodded at the children, his eyes stern as he looked at Ruran.
"Then I trust," he said softly, "that I will have your full cooperation in everything that I ask ... and that I will not be spoken back to ... and that there will be no trouble."
Armus watched Ruran carefully, curious to know how he would react to that question. After all, it was so obviously directed at him ...

Rhea sat back after sniffing at the blades and he looked up at the alphas. His tail thumping on the ground he was ready to begin.
Ruran nods, "Yes sir." he said flatly again. Though he knew well enough that accidents did happen...and he could not be blamed for them.
Kanis nods as well, "Yes sir" she seconded having been looking again at the blades and responding automatically to the question.

Corrah nodded and rolled the daggers up in the cloth again, tying the rope around it once more.
"Then we will begin," he said softly, though his tone was firm, "with endurance and strength. Have you all rested enough?"
He handed the bundle back to Armus, who disappeared into the trees once more.
Aras nodded eagerly. "I'm rested!" she said brightly, and indeed she did sound quite energetic. She looked over at Rhea. "What about you, Rhea? All ready for some training?"
