Kel rose early as usual. He spent the morning down in the smithy finishing up some weapons for some of his current clients. Most of what he did were finishing touches, sharpening blades and spikes, polishing armor and shields, and throwing in an enchant or two.

Maryl was awakened by the sunlight hitting her through the window. She had some difficulty, but eventually managed to drag herself out of her bed. She rubbed her eyes and walked over to the door, leaving the room and making her way downstairs. She took a seat on the couch and began to contemplate her situation.

Seth rose a bit later than usual. She was still distraught from yesterday's events, but willing to get moving and hopefully in the right direction. Slowly, she walked downstairs, making a turn for the kitchen.

Maryl turned her head hearing steps comming from the stairs. She got up off the couch and walked over to the stairwell to find Seth. "Sarah? What are we going to do today?"

Seth cleared some hair away from her face, sliding her hand behind her ear. There was still some sadness in her voice, she was at a loss for what to do. "I don't know, Maryl. My first possible lead is gone. We'll have to find out what the individual governments are up to before we can form a plan."

maryl steped forward, reaching in and hugging seth. "Please, don't be distraught over that mad man. You saved our lives. One person can't start a war by themselves. I'm sure there were others around him in the earth nation who had some idea of what he was planning."

Seth forced a smile and sighed. "You're probably right. We'll have to go back to Terra Tanta. First I want to have a look at the arena. It's a long shot but maybe there's some clues there." She began feeling a bit better as she nodded and her smile became more natural.

Seth laughed a bit. "Actually I was thinking this afternoon. I probably better help dad with the chores today first."

Maryl giggled, "Oh right. I'll help too, He did take me in after all. I don't want to seem like a worthless moocher." Maryl let go of Seth and turned to the stairs. She began walking up. "I'm going to go get dressed first."

Kel looked up from his grinding wheel hearing approaching footsteps just below the buzz of shearing metal against stone. He raised his mask and turned to see Seth standing nearby. "Ah, what's the good word?"
"We cleaned up the house, dad." Seth clasped her arms behind her back. "I was going to scour the arena for some clues before going out to the Earth nation again."
"Good stuff. Want me to come?"
"Really?"
"Yeah, I've got a bit of time now. Though it'll be a good idea if I can harvest some materials from the central mountain range too."
"Oh, ok. Do... Do you think you could make a weapon for Maryl too?"
"Does she even use one?" He scratched his chin.
Seth turned back looking toward the door for a second before returning to Kel, "I don't know."
"We can talk to her about it later." Kel stood up from the grinding wheel. he placed the axe he'd been sharpening on the table nearby.

Maryl finished up her chores and waited quietly at the landing by the front door. She sat down and took a moment to flip through her spellbook. She heard inaudible conversation from the open smithy door but not enough to distract her at the moment.

Kel and Seth approached the front door fairly well armed and prepared for the trip. "C'mon Maryl." Kel opened the door and held out an arm to usher the kids out before he stepped out and shut the door behind him, locking it. "So, the arena first?"
"Yeah, dad." Seth walked down the porch and jumped up into the air. "Could you carry Maryl?"
Kel shrugged and lifted Maryl by the back of her collar, tossing her into the air, and catching her on his back. He jumped up and took off flying after Seth as they headed toward the arena.

Maryl went along quietly ahead of Kel but shrieked when she felt the quick tug and got tossed into the air. She held on tight as a reaction to her panic as they started flying. Her familiar jumped off the top of the roof with a single raven caw as it fluttered after the three following them to the arena.

Kel returned home, entering from the back and heading into the forge. He walked ungracefully to a table and set down all the orders before taking a moment to look around and listen. It was strangely quiet. "I guess Seth took off for something again." He shrugged and moved to the storage room to collect materials and begin working.
