He raised an eyebrow. "But I like to hear about you," he laughed. He wondered how much he should tell her. "Well, yes I do like to help people. When I was young, I decided to help fight for justice and those in need. The place I used to live was...filled with evil." He watched her expression to make sure she wasn't bored already.

"That's very noble, like the Warriors," she said, nodding, then closing her mouth so she wouldn't interupt again. Her eyes glowed with interest, this was beginning to sound something like the Clans when they first ran from Twolegplace, only he had done it alone. She had a new reason to admire his will to help and fight.

He smiled at her comment and continued. "I continued to uphold justice under a secret identity. However, I got into some trouble when I tried to stop the wrong bad guys. The rich, powerful kind. People of the city began to think that I was the bad guy. That I needed to be stopped. So I had to leave..." He decided that he didn't need to tell her all the specifics. "I came to Namiah to start over. To help right the wrongs here." He sighed. "But Namiah has proven to be a very safe place with relatively little evil," he finished with a laugh.

"Yes, a very safe place," she sighed, knowing one of the reasons she would have a hard time settling down here was because she wouldn't be able to make much use of her skills as a Warrior, only able to fight with claws sheathed. In that way they were kind of similiar. She smiled again, the act losing some of its crook as she began to accept it, "Well, I'm sure no one will accuse you of wrongdoings here." She frowned, confused as to why someone would do that in the first place, "That seems like a great injustice, there was no convincing the people that the rich guys were the bad ones?" Then she scowled at the thought, "Mousebrains."

"Mousebrains?" he laughed. "But no...not without telling the world who I really was." He wasn't sure how to explain to her that he only fought evil in a disguise. So he decided to let it go. "So I'm trying to do my best here." He smiled.

"Oh," she said, not really understanding what he said. She cocked her head to the side to look at him, her curiousity making her loose the question before she really thought about it, "Didn't you leave anyone behind in the evil place?"

His face suddenly turned upset and distant. "Yes," he gritted his teeth. "I didn't want to leave. I had no other choice." His expression softened. "But I'm determined to start over. I can never go back, so I want to enjoy my stay here."

"You're taking this a lot better than I am..." she commented, staring down at her hands, "Brambleleaf would probably be flicking me in the face with her tail right now." She sighed and looked up again, "I guess neither of us can go back to what or where we once were..."

He nodded slowly, an almost sad look on his face. Then suddenly, his mood seem to change. He looked up at Brish, his eyes narrow for a moment. Then he smiled. "Then we should stick together. We seem to have more in common than I thought possible. It's...comforting." He stared at her for a moment longer, then turned his gaze to the ground, shaking his head slightly and chuckling softly to himself.

Brightshadow arched an eyebrow at him, returning the smile with a grin, "Al right then." She smiled a little more softly and glanced at him sideways, then looked up to the clouds drifting lethargically across the sky, "I find it comforting, too." Looking back at the beginnings of the raft she wondered what they were going to do with the materials they had collected. "Should we finish the raft for fun? Or try to make somthing else?" she asked, bringing her golden gaze back to Oliver.

Oliver too looked at the materials they had gathered. If nothing else, the wood would be good for building a fire. But with this weather, it didn't seem they'd need one. "Hmm...Do you know how to make anything that requires two large logs?" He couldn't think of anything else offhand, but he kept his mind working. They could always make a raft to simply enjoy sailing.

"Uh... We could try to make a tree fort?" she said, not sure if they'd really need two logs, or possibly more than two logs to make one, "What would you like to build?"

"A tree fort could be nice." He did like the sound of having a place to stay outside. He felt quite comfortable in the woods, and was finding the idea of staying out here more and more appealing. Plus, he didn't want to have to explain to Brish that he lived in an 'apartment'...like Twolegs do. "I think we might need more logs for that though. I don't mind searching if you don't," he added happily.

"I don't mind," she said enthusiastically, thinking deviously of how to make a complex fort that could resemble the dens of her Clan. But then she decided against it, realizing it would be Oliver's tree fort, too, and the amount of wood it would take to replicate her Clan's camp could very well equal a good chunk of the forest. She looked around, trying to find a nice climbing tree, "Usually oaks or willows work well for tree forts."

Oliver nodded in agreement. "I haven't seen any willows real close by. Some pretty good sized oaks. We could always search out a different spot though." He paused to look around the area. "How big do you think we should plan on making this?" He wondered how far off the nearest water source was. If they planned on spending any amount of time in this fort, they would want water close.
