"Ah, I understand. I wouldn't mind mending, though, once I get the hang of it after a few runthroughs." Kara answered as she picked out some threads to match the fabrics.
"As for as likes and dislikes, we as G.I.R.L.'s are not necessarly programmed with any. Rather, we use the experience of what we see and come in contact with our senses that slowly decide such a thing. We do have our strenghts and weaknesses as far as talents, though. However, those too are learned in time. It's all one grand learning experience to test our abilities in the real world, and to provide service to whom we are supposed to." she explained, as she could hear various noises of a usual family coming from downstairs. Simple things such as footsteps and noises. She'd have to get used to it, though it shouldn't take too long to do so.

Ryo smiles at that. "Makes sense. Just like any normal girl, or any person, really. Well, good; we'll figure out what you like together. And if we do something you don't like, you'll have to tell me. I want us to get along." Ryo picked up the sewing machine to carry it into Kara's new room, then came back for the box of fabrics. "Same thing with the rest of my family. I don't want them making you do anything you won't like. You don't have to, okay? You get to decide. My mom will expect you to listen to her, but I'll make sure she doesn't tell you anything ridiculous."

Kara can't help but chuckle at Ryo's innocence on such a matter, but it was a polite chuckle, more as if an idea she never thought of before.
"As lovely as that would be, it's not QUITE that simple, Master Ryo." Kara said, and took hold of the box of picked out fabrics and follwed him. "See, as a G.I.R.L., I am programmed to do as you or any chosen family members ask, as long as you are in good relations with them. It's not really my CHOICE in the matter, so to speak; it's in my system's programming to obey whatever it is that is asked, unless our system alarms go off. That's why there are many of us taht are purchased for large company owners as well, or those out of town alot as well; cleaning needs to be done, pets fed, children of single parents to be taken care of. We are simply like glue, for we sometimes hold things together." she answered as she sat the box down on the, looking at Ryo now.

"You said chosen family members. If I choose for you to ignore them and do as you like, then you can, right?" Ryo smiles; it was at his expense, but she had laughed. Just a tiny one. "Or does it not work that way? Well, I suppose that would still be alright. I think I can trust Jeimu and Sachio, any way. They aren't bad, really. My sister is just goofy and my brother, ugh... spoiled rotten. um. Don't tell anybody I said that." The last part he adds with a small amount of embarrassment.

"W-well, that wasn't exactly what I meant." Kara answered, before taking out the fabrick one piece at a time and began orgainzing them on the desk. It looked so much better organized.......was this a like, or a habit?
"By chosen, I mean those that mean alot to you, such as your siblings and your mother. Those that the bond goes across without words. However, as you mentioned before about the one in the room across from here, you share no strong ties with him by words nor by actions, therefore I don't serve him unless you or one of the others asks a favor of me to do so. However.......I dunno if I am physically able to, seeing as my gears are sensitive to whatever is in that room...." she said, her tone now apologetic.
"...but if one of them asks me to, then it's my duty to put my problems aside and to serve, because it's someone I'm supposed to serve's favor asked of me." she answered. As the boy went to his last sentence, she giggled slightly. "It's ok; normal sibling answers and thoughts." she pointed out.

Lea followed Keith through all the rooms to the basement, looking closely at each one of them. She decided that the house was nice, and she liked it.
They reached the basement, and Keith pointed out the bins of decorations to her.
Lea looked through the bins, and finally chose the light blue ones. "I like these," she said decisively, as if deciding to like them for the first time. Which she was.
She smiled up at Keith, waiting calmly for a reaction.

"No one will ask you to do anything for him. I'll make sure of it." For a short moment, Ryo's expression was uncharacteristically cold. He really, really did not much like Steven at all. But in a short moment his usual, easygoing smile had returned. "Hey, I'm going to go nab breakfast before those two eat all the pancakes and the batter box along with. You want to come with? I mean, I know you don't eat, but unless you wanted to get started on your projects you can just hang out with us."

Kara was speechless for a moment as teh boy for a moment, looked a bit cold. Not in body heat, but in expression. But before she could make more out on it, it disappeared as quickly as it came, as he smiled and asked if she wanted to join them.
"Sure; it would be good for me to know the likes and dislikes of the others as well." she nodded.
((Ahaha, run for lives! She plans to cook! xd ))

"Haha, that won't be hard to figure out. Shall we?" Ryo takes her hand again. He's sure she doesn't need to be led around, but he enjoyed it. He liked the contact, the feel of a small and feminine hand inside his. And if that wasn't good enough reason to purchase a G.I.R.L., then... well, why the hell wouldn't it be? his smile wider now, Ryo happily leads Kara back downstairs where the pancake feasting is well underway.
"I saved you some, Ryo." His mother points to a plate that Jeimu is feinting at with a fork. "And your sister had better not touch them. Do you need anything? Batteries or something?" The last bit asked of Kara. She's not being snarky this time, but is genuinely unsure what one even offered a G.I.R.L.
"I told you, mom", Jeimu piped up. "She's waiting to get me a soda." Jeimu could drag this joke on forever and don't doubt it. She grins at her mother, who shakes her head in disbelief.

Kara let Ryo lead her back downstairs and back into the kitchen again, where the kids were already digging into pancakes. She noticed that teh sister Jeimu was pretending to take them; now that wasn't very nice!
Upon the woman speaking to her, she shook her head. "Ah, we don't eat batteries or anything; we just recharge once in awhile (it's how we "sleep", as you humans put it), but we require no food or drink." she answered kindly, indicating to a spot in the back of her neck, where a plug would fit in. Again, that was in the box somewhere; a recharge cord; it was just like human sleep, only without dreams.

The mother nodded. "Alright, then. You kids stay out of trouble and clean up this mess when you're done." She ad Steven, the only ones without pancakes but with grilled cheese sandwiches and soup instead, head up the stairs. Ryo sits at the plate of pancakes, playfully swats at his sisters hand and digs in.
"Oh, go ahead and sit down if you want." Ryo offers, mouth full of pancake. "She's a robot... I don't think she'll get tired of standing up." This from Sachio.
