Another thing that might help learn a new langauge is having a pen-pal or something like that who actually speaks the langauge fluently, so that you can have real pactice writing the langauge and somebody to help with what you get wrong. They could also be somebody closer to your age than a teacher, or a textbook, to help you learn a more...working vocabulary than what you'll get in a textbook.

Proudly_Jewish awesome pirate I did all of the things you listed when I was learning French, and I became fluent in French in 3 years! surprised proof that your tips work razz That's precisely what I did while learning French, and I became fairly fluent in French in about 2 1/2 years...

Yes it is...my friend has been teaching me a little Japanese but it is way harder than Spanish. I'm not sure it's as interesting to me as, say Italian would be...
