Thorn got into the elevator with the others, her head now throbbing after trying to stare down the guard. She had been just fine until now, and now it felt like her head was gonna split in half. Great, just great; well, at least they're finally going to be getting some answers around here. The way they were being treated, the pain, the fear.........all of it was wrong, and Thorn wanted to know why it was implemented and NOW. This was a school, not a torture chamber.
Her headache lessed quite a bit by the time they got into the cafeteria. Thorn chuckled; it looked just like the one back in jail, but with much tighter security. Her eyes first rested on the two people in the seat, both looking as worn as she was, before her eyes rested on the balding old man that seemed to be in charge of this whole facility; he better have a d*mn good reason for his actions, or she'd give him the ol' backhand! No human was to be treated like this! She stood with her arms folded, ignoring food and drink, as she awaited for the old bat to speak.

Jack turned toward the entrance, not really wanting to focus on the doctor or on the serum masquerading as tempting fruit juice. He was half expecting to see more students coming in, but there were still only the handful that he had noticed a moment before. This was the smallest school he had ever seen. Not that it really was a school anyway, he reminded himself. Jack noticed that most of the other students were his age, and they all looked just as bewildered and frightened as he did. A small blue-eyed girl with short-cropped black hair and pale skin sat down a few seats away from him, and a taller, stronger-looking girl with dark features stood behind her, as if the two were already friends. Jack took some comfort in this. The building may be hell and the doctor Satan, but at least the others here weren’t all demons. Jack looked over at the girl with the short black hair. She wasn’t touching the glass in front of her yet, but Jack still felt obligated to warn her somehow of what it contained. She wasn’t looking at him, instead seeming pre-occupied with the imposing doctor. Jack frowned. He didn’t want to say anything and attract unwanted attention to hi myself, but then how would he get her too look? He finally settled on staring hard at her until she felt uncomfortable and got pissed off. It took almost half a minute, but suddenly the girl turned her blue eyes on him, looking a little irritable as he expected. Jack gave her a little nod and kept staring, hoping to any gods that might be listening that she would get his crazy eye-language. Then he glanced at the glass and shook his head. He repeated his gesture a few times until he felt that he couldn’t risk it anymore and quickly looked away, pretending to inspect a very interesting piece of fruit before flicking it back into the bowl. He didn’t trust those either…
-------------------------
Dawn heard the loudspeaker crackle again, giving the final warning for student to be in the dinning hall. She opened the door and made a wide gesture to the pink-haired girl. “Come now, we mustn’t be late!” And, feeling like the white rabbit as she did so, Dawn hurried the other girl down the hallway, through the elevator, and into the dinning hall, muttering how they certainly could not be late on their first day. She said nothing to her father as she came in. That would be breaking his rules. He didn’t want it too look like he had any attachment to someone when he was doing important meetings, and he certainly didn’t want her drawing attention to herself. Dawn plunked down in a seat next to Alice, pulling the seat out next to her in turn so that the pink-haired girl had a place to sit. She smiled and folded her hands on the table, staring up at her father with hardly contained excitement and pride. Not once did she notice that she was the only one that looked like this.

A guard escorted Damien to the dining hall, which seemed to take an eternity. As they walked along the desolate hallways, Damien began to space out, much as he always did, but in this instance, he was getting lost in his thoughts. Everything seemed like a dream. The flourescent lights hurt his eyes, so he closed them, and when he did, he became dazed and began to stumble. The guard had to correct him several times. At last they arrived at the dining hall. The guard opened the doors and all the students within turned to see Damien enter the room. He raised an eyebrow, wondering if all the others were feeling the same as he was. Casually, Damien took a plate from the table and moved it down away from the group, and took his seat. His gaze moved down the table, intentionally avoiding the stares from the students, to the front of the room. There he noticed an important looking old man. As he studied the man more closely, a vision, like his dream, happened. This troubled Damien. Why was he having these visions? It seemed the answer would become apparant soon enough...

Not really paying attention to what she was doing, Charlie took a seat across from the boy and girl who were already there. She was too lost in her own thoughts to pay attention to whom she sat next to.
After a little while, she could feel someone staring at her. Not willing to let him or her win, Charlie kept her eyes down until she couldn't take it any more. If this were another time or place, Charlie would have snapped at him, shouted "What the hell are you looking at?" and stormed off before the other kids' laughter could reach her ears. As it was, she couldn't do that for fear of the guards and the stronger fear of the man at the front of the room, so she merely snapped her eyes up into a glare, and found herself making eye contact with the boy she had sat down across from.
Then he did something that Charlie did not expect--he nodded briefly and kept staring. Charlie raised her head and also kept staring--in confusion. What was he doing? was he trying to tell her something? Then his eyes flicked down and he shook his head. He did it a few times more, and Charlie followed his glance down to his glass. Is there something wrong with the food? Charlie tried to catch his eye again, but to no avail. He was looking to the nearest fruit bowl with what seemed to be the greatest interest. Charlie gave up and let her mind wander...and it wandered to the boy across the table.

Lance got bored of waiting for whatever the hell the geezer was waiting for and reached into his jean pocket. Wait, it was gone! Lance began patting his pockets, slightly panicking. He stopped, and reached into his shirt pocket. Amazing that they let him wear this... maybe it was because it was pretty much a school uniform already? Or maybe he missed the uniform they gave him... oh well. Lance removed his hand from his pocket and opened his hand. It was his zippo, and it wasn't supposed to be in that pocket. Lance glared at a nearby guard for no reason and began toying with his zippo, first rolling it around his fingers, then opening and closing the lid. Honestly, Lance was surprised that whoever was in charge of this place didn't take it away. Whatever, their mistake.

Brynn Syvra just stared at the opposite wall, listening to this girl, this Dawn, try to talk to her. Mentally, Brynn was giving Dawn kudos for sticking around despite the fact that Brynn hadn't said a word to her. As Dawn finally got her to get out of her bed and Brynn pulled on a pair of jeans that fit her figure surprisingly well, she debated on saying something to Dawn. She decided against it, however. My refusal to speak seems to concern her and intrigue her. I just might have to talk to her. I don't know why, but she's interesting. As Dawn lead her to the dining hall and then pulled out a chair next to her, Brynn debated sitting down, but she did, her pink hair spilling over either side of her seat. She noticed that Dawn knew her way around and she knew the girl sitting next to her quite well. Even if I don't particularly like this Dawn, which is impossible, because she has something about her that interests me, she will be useful when getting to know the secrets of this place. She also noticed Dawn's expression when the old man, or Dr. Gerard as she had overheard, and assumed they had a relationship of some sort. It wasn't sexual, she knew that. It was more affection than lust. I will find out later. She kept her face forward, but her eyes roved that hall that she could see. She noticed a boy trying to gesture to another girl with short black hair about something to deal with the juice and then he began to inspect his food. She watched him a while. He seems to know something about this stuff that we don't know. I wouldn't have trusted this place's food anyway. We were drugged when we got in here, who's to say they won't keep it up. She soon began to be bored, so she went back to staring at Dawn, looking her up and down without so much as moving a muscle. There is no doubt. She IS interesting.

When Torri heard the announcement, she slowly stood up, stretched and made her way toward the door. As she peered out of the window in the door, she noiced several students heading to one place. She silently opened the door and slipped into the hallway, following any student that seemed to know where they were going. She never got close to anyone she followed, but they were in her sightline. She wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone, if she ever actually talked. So let me rephrase that. She wasn't in the mood for anyone to talk to her. So, when she reached the second floor dining hall, she found an area where people seemed scarce and seated herself. Whatever the person from the announcement had to be pretty darn important to call everyone together, or they were just pulling out the welcome wagon. Whatever it was, Torri would rather be in her room. As much as she wanted to know what's going on, she felt tired and exausted even though she just woke up not fifteen minutes ago.

Leila woke slowly. She gently pushed herself up into a sitting position. Her body withered in pain. Her head fell into her hands as she angerly tried to brush tears away. There were bruises forming all over her body, and a cut on her head was bleeding a bit. She staggered to her feet, trying to keep her balance and then staggered and swayed towards the doors. Her clothes were all torn up and her hair was a mess. She frowned as she pressed up against the door. She felt someone on the other side pushing the door open quickly. She fell backwards onto the ground and cried out in pain. A guard came in and loomed over her. "It's time to go into the dining hall" He grabbed her arm and pulled her to her feet, pushing her out the door and down the halls. "OW" She murmered. He obviously didn't listen to her because he dragged her all the way to the dining hall. When they reached the hall, he opened to door and told her to sit down. She obeyed hesitantly. She found a seat towards the back and away from the others. Ahead there was an old man who appeared to have some authority in the place. She frowned even more, but was quiet. Waiting. Waiting for something to happen.

come to... dining hall... come to hall come hal...
"Ow..." Hal groaned as she regained consciousness, starting to sit up and remembering just in the nick of time. Feeling about her, she discovered an open space on her right and carefully eased out from under the bed. Brushing off her jeans and jacket, Hal looked around her new surroundings. Besides a bed, a desk, a chair, and a full-length mirror, the room was pretty empty. Another door to the side was cracked open just enough to see a sink and toilet. A bathroom, then. Hal spotted a small cardboard box near a door that she assumed led outside. Curious, she walked over to it and crouched down to examine its contents. The box held a poster or two, a dreamcatcher, several crystals of varying shape and size, a paint-by-numbers stained glass sun, and a raggedy gray stuffed bunny. Hal was suddenly overcome by a wave of sadness. Oh yeah. She was at White Ridge now. The court had decided she was better off without her parents. Hal picked up the gray bunny and held it close to her. It wasn't the court's right to decide where she belonged. Her parents might not have been all there, but she loved them and they loved her. So what if she'd had some weed in her pocket?! She wasn't stupid, she knew enough not to get addicted, so- A movement caught her eye. Turning, she looked into the full-length mirror and gasped. Tiny herringbone stitches ran from her left temple all the way to the back of her head. The same pattern was on her right side when she turned to look. Along the way, stitches split off to make roads into her scalp like cracks in a windshield. The overall effect was to make her head look like a rag doll's, stitched together by some crazy dollmaker. Hal ran her fingers through her strawberry blonde hair, unable to comprehend this. What was going on? Had she gotten in an accident? But surely she'd remember that - right? Pain bloomed under her fingers and she saw the bruise she'd gotten from hitting her head. It was coming up nicely, and she could tell it would be a rainbow of colors. Right in the middle of her forehead, too. Suddenly she grinned rakishly. Who cared, anyways? She wasn't at all beautiful, being more solid than delicate and never having touched make-up in her life. The most people would say about her was that she was 'eccentric'. Hal tossed her head back and stood up. Well, now they could say she was 'striking' too. After all, who could forget a head like that? Hal opened the door and stepped out into a cold, dim hallway. It was filled with doors that all looked exactly alike. "How can anybody find their way in a place like this?" she muttered. Wandering down the corridor, she came upon a set of stairs. "Guess I might as well see what else is in my new home," she said out loud. She began to regret taking the stairs halfway down. The constant, subtle pain had morphed into nausea. Hal stumbled out of the stairwell, her eyesight blurring, and tried to find a bathroom... Wait... was that?... it was! Reeling gratefully over to the trashcan, she leaned over it and emptied the contents of her stomach, which were surprisingly little. Hal wondered when she'd last had something to eat. Nausea over, she stood up- And was hit by a dizzy spell that sent her staggering through the swinging doors into the dining hall. Hal blinked at the gathered people in the hall. "Um... hi?" she managed. The double doors swung silently shut behind her.

Sally heard the announcement to go to the dining hall. She quickly looked around, wondering where that was. She saw a girl walking towards it and followed her. As she quickened her pace to keep up she got there... The double doors slammed into her face, and she fell backwards. She felt a slight wetness go down her lip, and she tasted blood. She covered her nose, getting up. She reached out and opened the doors. "Can I have a napkin please?" she called out.

((Okay I am assuming everyone is in the dining hall now.))
Alice saw what Jack was doing out of the corner of her eye. "Don't bother Jack." She said gently; Jack looked at her questioningly. "The Dr. will know who drinks the juice and who dosen't. He has cameras set up all around here. That's why we have to make him think we drank ours. When he sees who didn't drink, he'll probably just inject it into them later, once they have fallen asleep." "How would he inject them while they slept? Wouldn't they wake?" For a second Alice looked a little confused, as if she was pondering something. "I don't really know how he does it. But, I just know he does." Jack nodded and looked back up at the Dr., waiting for him to begin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Gerard watched patiently as the students gathered in. He scanned the crowed and noticed a few starting alliances, but he knew he shouldn't be concerned, for he had everything under control. Then as the final students took their seats, he began. "Welcome all, to White Ridge. Though I am sorry to have deceived you, this is not a boarding school. This is indeed my Lab, where I have taken you from your dreary pathetic lives and given you something more. A gift, if you will. When you all arrived you experienced various tests and surgeries to give you each a unique and special power. As time passes you will each discover your own power. This may come across as impossible, but you will find the truth eventually." His gaze seemed to bore into the teen's souls. As if everything about them had been laid out before him. Every thought, every weakness. The Dr. smiled, but it didn't touch his eyes, and said: "Oh, and feel free to wander the permitted areas of your new home, but I dont suggest trying to escape. As you can see my guards are well equipped. And if any misconduct should take place, there will be consequences." With the last word he shot a meaningful glance at Alice and Jack, then turned towards the door to his right, and left the dining hall, taking two guards with him. Alice bit her bottom lip, trying to resist the urge to stick her tongue out at him while his back was turned like a five year old. The air in the room seemed to buzz with resistance, it was obvious that the only reason no one had spoken out was due to the presence of the guards.

Something changed in Sally's mind as she listened. The steady ache from her nose felt fantastic to her, she wanted more. She took the pinky, pulling it against its natural curve while she listened. Her nose was still bleeding, but she ignored it. She just licked away what got on her lips, savoring the taste. She looked around as she listened. A power ay? Sounds interesting. She wondered what she had, and if it could inflict any damage to any one. As her finger made a popping sound she let go, moving to pull the other pinky as she thought. She decided which one she wanted. Ice. Nice and dangerous... and painful.

Thorn had paid very little attention to her surroundings (other than when she noticed Charile turn towards the boy as he was doing something strange, but couldn't make it out). It was only when the man began to speak that her attention came back in full force........
.....and was appalled, her mind shattered of all emotion, except for anger, rage...........
Thorn was SERIOUSLY p*ssed now; what. the. hell?! So, they were taken from their not-so-bad lives, operated on WITHOUT PERSMISSION (and now the images were coming back, of her screaming and his laughter. It was the same man; she didn't appreciate someone undressing her without consent, nor causing her or anyone else pain. VIOLATION MUCH?!), given powers that so far she had not seen anything except pain...unbearable pain, and locked in a place that wasn't even a school. She clenched her fist so hard, that she could see all the veins on it as the doctor left with the two guards. Her eyes turned as cold as stone as she death glared the man as he left; oooh yes, he was going to die at her hands. She was already thinking of all the things she will do to make his pain last forever, to a point where he will BEG ON HIS KNEES to die! One could feel heat surrounding her if they got close enough.
No, just no. She was gonna get the heck out of here. NO ONE controlled her life like this, nor anyone elses'. She'd beat Satan to a plup if that was what it took. No way in any heaven, or hell, is she staying in this place for another minute. This DOCTOR had done nothing put purposely push every button the girl had, and now she was filled with so much wrath and anger, that the physical pain just subsided.
She suddenly without any warning went to one of the tables, and began beating it with her bare fists. Bit by bit, it was cracking and breaking into a distorted shape, drink and food onto the floor; she was imagining it being the man that just left. She mumbled various swears to herself as she did this, not caring what anyone thought, fighting back both rage and tears. No one controlled her like this; no human would treat a human like this. This man was a monster, and chances are his degeree was false as humbleness.
Where was justice? The Red Skies member WILL get revenge!

Leila stared blankly after the doctor, if thats an accurate term. Damnit She cursed in her head. She pounded her fist down on the table, the sound echoed in the hall. She then swatted the cup infront of her and watched as it crashed to the ground. She squinted at the guards who didn't seem pleased with her actions. She stood up and slowly walked past the guards. "Where do you think you're going?" A particularly large guard asked her as she walked. She stopped and turned to face him. "He said feel free to wander." She shot back and then threw open the doors loudly and walked out. She was furious. She was a lab rat and she felt vunerable, and that was the one thing she hated. She stalked off aimlessly. 'Exploring' her new 'home' She found a window with a ledge she could sit on and perched there looking out over the mountain scenery. It was kind of beautiful. She sat there and took in everything that had just been told to them.

Charlie was lost in thought when the girl across the table started to whisper to the boy sitting next to her, and she only caught a few words of the soft conversation: "Jack," "cameras," and "inject." Several thoughts flashed through Charlie's mind at once.
Hmmm...his name is Jack. That's a nice name...
Why am I not surprised that there are cameras in this place?
What do they mean by 'inject?' What are they gonna inject? Does it have something to do with whatever's wrong with this juice?
At this last thought, Charlie figured that she'd better play it safe and at least look like she was drinking whatever was in the cup in front of her. She still wasn't particularly interested in eating or drinking, but she touched the cup to her lips and tipped it back just enough to wet her lips. After a moment, she could feel an odd, tingly sensation where the juice had touched, and she stared with a newfound wonder at the cup. What is going on here?
Charlie's questions were answered a moment later when the man at the front of the room began to speak. His voice sent chills rolling down her spine, especially when he said that this place was actually a lab and that he had been experimenting on them. It explained so much, but it also angered Charlie. How dare he take her from her life, screwed up as it may have been, just to make her his lab rat? And powers? What was he on about? Was he on something? Charlie could feel the familiar anger rise in her throat, and she was determined to sulk for a while, maybe put in her earphones and blast "Dead!" and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" until she couldn't hear anything, and bury her pain in the music. Some gift. It's more like the German word 'Gift'--poison.
