"I agree," Keno said in reference to Carl's remark, "but I wouldn't call it my favorite. Call me picky, but I've seen better. The fights I most anticipated went virtually nowhere; particularly this one," he pointed to the standstill fight between Red and Soneko, "and this one," his finger moved to hover over the match between Christiania and Yo-ko.

"It was just dumb luck I guess that two water specialists got paired up, but it would have been a nice bruised ego to bear witness to one way or another. As for Chrissy, I haven't actually seen her fight except once. She was a novice then - barely new her way around her own body - but I'm to believe she's improved. Now would have been as good a time as any to get things under way."

With a disappointed sigh, he returned to the matches that were now drawing to a close. As it stood, Red and Yo-ko, who might have pulled an impressive feat by going all the way without a moment's rest, were probably now in better shape for Round Three than the others. It seemed there was a balancing weight on the fact that they were both destined to face one another. With any luck, they'd prove to be entertaining.

"If things go my way, I would say my favorite fight will take place during the finals, but first we have to see who advances."

Nodding in agreement to their comments, truthfully she hadn't seen any of the fights of the competition in real time. The only fight she had something invested in was currently underway and even that she wasn't watching.

Noticing Carl calling up a film at will she tilted her head studying what he had done. Rising from her seat she pointed at the screen and proceeded to rewind the footage of the Red vs. Sol battle.

"My god this facility is incredible!"

Rewinding the film back and forth, she proceeded to do so with a few other screens before realizing what she was doing. Pausing she regained her composure closing her eyes and adjusting her glasses.

"I swear this place will regress me back to childhood."

Returning her view back to the content she played some of the fight between the Kitsune and Egyptian.

"Red has definitely improved since when I sparred with her. I dominated that match, but I have no idea if I could win at this point."

Flipping to a few of the other matches, the one between the holy magic user and the mysterious fellow was catching her eye.

"I think the biggest contenders could be from this group personally. Round 3 will be best one so far I predict."

Unks

::Before Unks could see the damage done by his and Kendo's final attack he was covered in a white blinding light as was Keno and teleported to their next destinations either it be the reception hall, or the third arena for the third round.

When the light faded the Saiya-Jin found himself back in the reception area where he had to wait for the first round. He sighed softly to himself knowing that he lost his match. A smirk appeared on his lips and he laughed lightly. He wasn't upset, maybe his pride was bruised a bit, but that is all.

"Ha it seems the old man got me this time. It's o.k this just means I need to continue and better myself. Now then where is my wife. . .?"

Unks sensed out Pith's energy and she was with Keno, and Carl it seems. He looked to the area where all the monitors were and made his way over to the doors and entered the room to see the three of them sitting and watching the monitors::

"It appears Kendo is quite the wily one," Keno said in greetings to Unks with a cool, unfocused tone of voice. He didn't turn away from the monitors for a moment, as Round Three had picked up where Round Two had left off, but it should have been obvious if nothing else that Unks was welcome to accompany the group. Of course, he had the choice of four other rooms, but they'd all be showing the same two fights. It really just depended on whether he felt like keeping company or not.

Extending his right hand palm up, a new plate of food appeared before him, piled with several different types of fruit; apple and orange slices, a few white, black, and red grapes, a kiwi half, some mango cubes, watermelon triangles, cold plantain, and some strawberries. He went for the kiwi first.

"You did a pretty good job, considering you went up against a sage." With a brief smirk, he motionlessly returned his attention back to Epithany noted only by the inflection in his voice that suggested his audience had changed.

"The kitsune girl is impressive. I recall her being a lot more feral in the past. For better or worse, she seems to have grown into herself since being forced into independence...in a manner of speaking. She might actually give that fox boy a run for his money. His talent is amazing, but I think his youth will catch up with him soon, if he's not careful."

Just barely feeling the force of his latest opponent's final strike, Aurorion was suddenly enveloped in a blinding white light that even his closed lids could not help with. As the light faded, he blinked his eyes a few times to regain his visual perception; it seemed he was once more within the hall he had begun ********..." he grumbled, smacking the floor with his fist as he sat there in the same odd position he had finished the fight in. He was none too happy, and knew he could have performed better; already, self-critiques of his decisions in that battle were swiftly moving through his mental capacity.

"Ah well," he murmured as he began to stir. Pushing himself up, he looked about at himself; he didn't look too scratched up. He would have a few bruises, that was no doubt, but nothing he hadn't before coped with. Looking about his surroundings, he noted a few people and what seemed to be a highly advanced set of videos running. In the frame of one, he noted his previous opponent.

"There you are." He moved over to view the fight.

The matches marched forward. Semifinals began and both X and Red had moved forward. X was matched against Epithanys master, a grand sage, or something to that effect. Yet, somehow, he seemed to be more inclined to pull X into close combat. Carl was rather confused by this tactic, moving to where your opponent is strongest instead of where you are is rarely an advisable tactic, yet it didn’t seem to be going too badly. Red, it seemed, had the upper hand in her fight against Yo-ko, but with that much magic twirling around it was often hard to tell.

Watching X on screen, Carl saw the sudden advancement Kendo made out from the dust and pointed to one of the screens. As he blow landed on the masked mans face, Carl let out a light laugh. With the mask tumbling through the air, the screen slowly panned over to the mans face. As his appearance began to set in and the other viewers began to recognize him, Carl spoke in a manner that seemed rather abrupt, even for him.

“Look at my boy. My, how he’s grown.”

"Oooh...I bet she's pissed." The look on his face seemed to denote a touch of deviance as Keno watched the fight between the two red headed kitsune come to an abrupt halt, with Red as the victor. She might have forgiven her previous opponent, but Keno could tell she was up to something big, but she never got the opportunity to make use of it. As though he suspected something, Yo-ko just stopped, threw in the towel, and the match was hers. That would make two perfectly good and highly anticipated matches end by disqualification. Even Keno seemed to have something sour settling on his palate as he thought about it.

"Perhaps my rules were a bit harsh." If there was anything he knew about true warriors, it was that a shallow victory was never appreciated. He felt a bit sorry for X or Kendo, who would have to deal with her and her frustrations next. Then again, she might keep it to herself and show off a bit of that professional attitude she always bore with her.

Turning his attention away, he saw one fight end just as the other finally revealed the man behind the mask. All Keno did in response was smirk at the outcome. Being the host, he made a point of knowing all of the participants, but even setting that aside, there weren't too many differences in the appearances of Cain and X. Not so far as Keno was concerned. If nothing else, the several different layers of clothing should have tipped a few people off.

"Remind me to ask him why he wanted to be masked again," he said more to Carl than anyone, though he spoke out loud. One more round to go and everything would be done. It was turning out to be quite the long day.

Carl continued watching the last bout in this round continue forward. Cain was taking a beating, almost as if he’d lost the ability to dodge along with the feeling in his arm, but he’d landed a good blow or two, something he should be proud of. Sasha, on the other hand, seemed to be doing well. His motions were fluid, bending around incoming attacks. His was a very beautiful style to watch, though it was cruely interrupted by a firm crack when his numbed arm tried to block a seemingly inaccurate flurry.

After pausing for a while as he continued to watch, Carl finally responded to Kenos trailing remark. “He said something about masking his energy signature. His face as well, I guess. But with this roster the only familiar warrior he would have had to deal with would have been your husband.” Turning to look at Epithany, he realized that Unks had joined them sometime during this last round. He nodded, though he didn’t say anything else, then turned back to the monitors.

“I hate to say it, Ms. Epithany, but if it were up to me then I’d have to say my boy kicked your masters a**.” Letting off a light laugh, something that Unks and Epithany would likely find out of character. But now as not the time for seriousness, it was time to relax.

Master Cain

PostPosted: Wed Oct 15, 2008 7:30 pm

“********!” Cain threw his arm against the wall, its sound echoing with his voice. The feeling had finally started to come back, about ten seconds too late. His re-appearance in the reception hall rather then the next ring had set him in a foul mood. This was his time to shine, and he’d fouled it up. Stomping out of the transporter, a growl rolled from his lips with every breath. He didn’t head to the food, nor to the viewing rooms. He was leaving, there was no call for him to stick around and watch the final match that he had been stricken from. He booked it straight to the exit, throwing his hands against it only to realize that the doors were only for show.

With a snarl whisping under his usually docile tone, he snapped over at Keno.
“You! Send me back to the club!”

((I don’t feel the same way as Cain! I enjoyed the fight thoroughly ^_^ haha

See y’all back at the club ))

Watching the matches in silence she motioned beside her as resting place for her husband. Smirking at Keno's comments she nodded in agreement concerning the bout between Unks and Sasha. Looking towards the Saiya-jin she patted his shoulder.

"Sometimes I forget that theres reason he calls himself a Sage. As foolish as the man can be, his skills are true for the most part. Archmage is not a title they give out easily. I should know..."

As she spoke her expression soured concerning her own predicament of only being ranked a high mage herself. Sighing she shrugged returning her attention fully toward the next rounds of combat.

The ranks had been widdled down steadily to only 4 remaining fighters. Red had steadily pushed up the ranks and had effectively fought her to the semi-finals. Recognizing the tenets of spell craft having been set at the beginning of the match she watched the male Kitsune pulled into an illusion. Before long the battle collapsed upon itself ending prematurely.

Wrinkling her nose her attention returne to Sashas bout her eye widening at the sight of the masked man from before being revealed to be no other a old companion of hers. Shocked she watched in silence no longer hearing comments coming her way.

Stretching length over Red's the fight remained steadily rough entirely focused on hand to hand combat. It had been an considerable amount of time since she had seen Sasha perform the chimera style to such a degree. Even she was not as skilled at switching stances as the elder fox. How he easily drifted between styles was always a sight to behold. Smiling fondley it brought her back to when she trained solely martial arts as a child. At the time she had wanted to learn magic, but he seemed more interested in teaching her how to fight.

Shaking her head the end of the bout brought her back to reality. Cain's sudden appearence brought a smile to her face before he shortly began assaulting a wall. Rushing from viewing room she came out within view of the tirading young man.

"Cain calm down! I was going to say, its nice to see you after so long, but not like this."

A broad frown creased upon her lips.

"Stomping around like that will only add fuel to the fire. If you wish to return so badly I can send you back myself."

Running her hand through the emerald locks that framed her faces she sighed unsure if this was really the man she had met so long ago.
