((I would have laughed, such an un-glorious death in the middle of such events.))
Raymond by now had reached the top of this particular homes large staircase, and seeing as nothing had blown up or burst into flame he assumed the stove had cooled off and the food hadn't caught fire...yet anyway. As he finished the last few steps he could hear his sneakers slap against the thin layer of water that had flowed down the stairs. Presumably he was looking for a bathtub or a shower, but just to be safe he kept his rifle ready, just in case some waterlogged robot decided to jump out and attack. Hell, after that last one Raymond preferred to be more careful.
"They were in the middle of their daily activities...they really must not have seen in coming..." he said to himself as he checked each door he came across, following the trail of water. Finally he came to the door he was looking for, third door on the right. With one hand he turned the knob and let the door swing open...

And Allen would be gone, by this point. Down the road, and heading to the Temple district. Sure they'd passed through there already, but they hadn't looked closely, and with this place's history his instincts said there had to be something there.

((It doesn't get any better.))
And the door would give token resistance. It was locked, it seemed. And there were strange sounds coming from withing.

And once everything was back in the bag; how did she fit all that in there anyways? Oh well, she was a woman and purses were black holes, she'd follow behind Kael at an easy pace. She'd run if she needed to run, and not until then. Conservation and all that. Come to think of it, she was getting hungry. This time, she reached into the backpack, she also had handy, and offered him an energy bar and some water. "We've not eaten yet, this might keep your strength up."

((Lovely, I had to go off exploring when alone.))
Noises...strange noises, lovely. Now such was a time that required a decision. Inside there could have been any number of things, from perhaps a survivor to something less friendly. It could have been a dog or similar animal, but the question remained just how to handle the situation. He could bust down the door or simply give it a nice spray of bullet fire, perhaps killing whatever was behind the door, but what if what was there was friendly? He couldn't choose, so he choose a third option. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out that radio that he had been given earlier outside the city, and he brought it to his mouth and pressed down on the talk button.
"Three days three days, this is Raymond, If anyone can hear me I believe I have something alive out here in Richville, a few houses down from our soon to be base at the end of the street. I will proceed if needed, but I would prefer some back-up. Over." he said, letting off the talk button. He still had his rifle trained on the door, just in case.

Joseph received a message over his nav-wrist.
"I'll hear you in three days Ray." Joseph said jokingly, "But I'll send someone over quicker."
He looked around before spotting Gambion.
"Hey you, over there." He shouted at Gambion, "Didn't catch your name, but there's some trouble a few houses down the street. Our boy Ray is in there, you want to give him some backup?"

"Yeah, I'm on it."
Gambion unclasped his cloak from around his shoulders and just dropped it on the ground. He had torn strips off of it to bind his wounds, but those were useless as well so he undid them and piled them on top of the cloak. They wouldn't restrict his movement there.
He set off at a quick trot down the street, twisting his shotgun it its holster and popping it out. He cracked the barrel open and loaded in two shells. It was close quarters fighting inside a house, and shotguns were good at close quarters stuff.
He slipped in the door after Ray, and quietly looked around. He had no idea where Ray was in the house, but if it was him he would be investigating where that water was coming from. Gambion was a bit worried about the smell of gas, but it seemed to be getting lighter.
Still...
He turned and waved a hand a few times, each window in sight unlocking and sliding up to vent the house, then he followed the running water upstream to Ray.

"One of the guys is on his way, Ray."
Joseph continued to watch the robots work.

Footsteps...his back-up perhaps? Turning his head he pocketed his radio and watched as a familiar face came up the stairs. Thank god.
"Nice to see you man, I believe there is something inside this room, and it doesn't sound entirely human." Raymond said as he motioned to the door his gun was pointed at, returning his now free other hand to his gun.
"I was thinking of kicking the door open and finding out just what is inside, but it may prove dangerous. What do you think?" Ray asked, wanting a second opinion.

"No one else coming, eh?" He glanced around, just for confirmation, and stood up, stretching and straightening up, stretching his back out.
I'm not sure if that's disheartening or relieving.
And then, his mind was completely sidetracked by a new and very tempting distraction. Food, that was.
"'ey, thanks."
He reached out and took a hold of one each. Rather than rationing them, Kael took one long swig of the water. Then came the energy bar, eaten quickly, and one more swig of the water.
Too much to drink could slow him down though, so the water was getting tucked into his pouch, leaving it bulging near bursting, while he stuffed the wrapper of the energy bar in a pocket. That wasn't heavy enough to slow him down.
"So," he shot a smile rather than mixing thanks, greeting, and apology, and started meandering off toward the next land mark- the next big dome that he'd spotted not very far away from them. It was only a short walk, yet none in his group had investigated, and considering the prominance of the things, he had to take a look. The palace had been torn to pieces already, but if he moved fast enough he might have better luck. For sake of endurance, and the lady, he limited 'fast enough' to a pretty brisk walk.
"'fraid my memory's not too good when I'm distracted, and I was a bit busy earl'yer. Did I catch your name miss?"

"You try talking to it?"
That was always a good course of action. If things could be talked to, most of the time they could be reasoned with. Of course, with the two of them standing right outside the door talking, it didn't seem like whatever was inside would be talking back.
"Of course, now that there are two of us we can be prepared to detain whatever is inside there right when we open the door. Here, go ahead and kick the door open, and I'll be ready to take care of whatever is inside."
He was getting prepared for a lot of things. If it jumped at them and seemed too dangerous, a shotgun blast point blank would be useful. If he didn't think that would work, he could unleash a GTFO.

Lah came dashing from the direction of the Echo Woods, parachute-filled backpack in one hand, making a beeline straight for the command-center-in-construction, pausing a moment outside just because he was certain he would be noticed. That kind of running didn't put him out of breath or anything, he was a pretty fit guy.
"Uh... found some interesting things."

"I haven't, However I figure if we've been talking out here for all this time and it has not decided to join in in the conversation it probably doesn't want to talk to us." Ray added as he made sure his weapon was ready, sights were set correctly and the safety was for sure off.
"So on three I'm going to kick the door in...ready?" he said, moving his own finger to the trigger of his gun. The time was now.
"One...two...THREE!" he said with emphasis, and raising his leg up he kicked the door, hopefully throwing it open. The kick certainly had the force behind it, all he could do now was hope whatever was behind the door wouldn't try to eat them.

"No, but I think I know what happened to them, or at least what somebody else knows." He nodded to the parachute pack.
"Five people dropped into the woods back there at some point, if the things I saw there are correct, and one of them knew something about... It makes sense, at least. Something got rid of the people here somewhere... The one guy... whatever I saw, he said it was a force that destroys the bodies without leaving any sign of destruction."
Lah hefted the pack again. "Just before whatever light show I got started, I found one of these stashed under some snow, so... It makes sense, at least."
