Idhril watched Joruri closely as he tore the scrap from her dress, and she couldn't help but get the feeling that something ... was going on in his mind. Something that she didn't know about, something she couldn't help him with ...
And it made her ache, more than the wounds that ravaged her body.
At his question, she nodded. "Yes, Joruri," she smiled softly, "if you want, I would like to sit in your lap."
She felt so much safer with him near her now, and the nearer he was the safer she felt. She didn't know why it was - perhaps because he had saved her from the storm, or perhaps because she had saved him from the tree ... but for some reason she just felt a connection to him.
She scooted over to him, trying to sit in his lap without having to put too much pressure on her injured hands.

Joruri turned to look at her, "It is what would be best for mistress Idhril not what Joruri wants or not." he tried to smile at her and seeing her struggle he shifted to pick her up carefully, as the scrap of dress soaked and he straighten his legs.
He softly lowered her into his lap. He cradled her head against his best and right shoulder as his left hand reached in to grab the clothe and let the extra water drip back into his vase. He moved his right hand down her leg being careful of her wounds and moved to hold the underside of her length with great care. "If Joruri hurts Mistress Idhril please say so."
His wing shifted to block the storm from her view and to deafen the sound as he very softly moved the dress scrap to brush over the wounds. His touch was feather soft as he worked to clean her wounds. Even as he picked out bits of bark he tried to do it as gently as he could his eyes focused on her wounds and nothing else but for signs of discomfort from her.

Idhril relaxed into Joruri's body and closed her eyes as he began his work. His hands were soft and gentle, and even though the water stung her open wounds, she didn't wince because she felt so safe, so comfortable in his arms.
She felt her eyes growing weary. She hadn't been awake for long, perhaps only a half a day or a little more by now, but it had been a full and adventurous day, and she had used up a lot of energy. Not to mention, Joruri was very, very comfortable.
"You have very steady hands," she murmured as he picked a piece of bark out of her shin. "It doesn't hurt at all ... in fact ... it feels ... nice ..."
She closed her eyes and leaned against him, into him, unconsciously making herself more comfortable in his lap.

Joruri felt another wave of fresh blush move over his cheeks as her soft feathery voice reached his ears in praise. "J..joruri is glad to make Mistress Idhril feel....nice." he moved his hands up to her knees to work on them.
He could feel her shifting in his lap his hand stilling so that he would not hurt her. Once she was warmly snuggled against him he started to work again. Soon she would be able to sleep and regain her strength.
"Mistress is not cold?" He asked as he re-soaked the clothe and moved the cool water to her deep skin. He was always in awe with her rich skin...it was so beautiful and full of life.

Idhril was already half asleep, and despite her sharp elven hearing she still missed half of what Joruri said. All she managed to catch was a single word: cold; yet the tone with which he said it spoke of his concern and his worry.
Her smile widened, though her eyes remained shut.
"Not cold," she murmured softly, almost mumbling. "You're making me feel ... nice and warm."
No, in the safety of his lap, with his wings wrapped around her, she was warm, comfortable, and safe.

Joruri had a hard time hearing the rest of her words as they were slurred with sleep. He nods and continues to work.
Once he had finished cleaning her knee wounds he tried to remember is she had said her thighs had been scraped. He didn't know if he should look or not. Or if feeling up her thigh to check would be bad. He knew she was falling asleep quickly but he knew he had better ask. He blushed a bit, "Mistress Idhril's thigh....unhurt?"
He felt right with her weight in his arms. He wanted to protect her from all evils. He knew he could not be with her always...but he wanted so hard to take care of her.

Joruri's hands on Idhril's body were soothing, very calming, and this time when he spoke she didn't hear a word he said. Her head lolled against his chest, one fist tightened unconsciously around a fistful of his shirt, and she drew up her knees and cuddled against him, drawing warmth and security from him.
Even the burning of the scraped skin on the insides of her thighs couldn't keep her awake, and before she knew it, she was fast asleep, breathing deeply in his arms.

Joruri sat there waiting for an answer one hand still in the water. He did not feel its chill. Though feeling the young princess moved and curl in his arms preventing him from checking out her thighs made the answer clear.
Taking his hand from the water he shifted to pick up her legs in his arms. He moved over towards the wall of the cave so he could lean against it and watch the door making sure no one would come in and harm his mistress.
Her held her warmth with care in his arms. She was truly his greatest treasure. She was the strongest bond to life he had. And he would let nothing hurt her in his arms...though he prayed it would not be him that did the hurting. The parts of him that were still fractured worried him.
