-Clang!-
"Miss, you'll have to move. We can't have you being so close to the elevator shaft with the doors open. Liabilities and such."
Namini frowned as she peered cautiously in the darkness a final time before one of the officers gently pushed her aside, antsy because of the fact that she could see the shining metal top of the elevator chamber trapped in the shoot pitifully. Rejoining the small group of apartment residents waiting excitedly to see who had been trapped in the elevator, she reached inside her purse and stared at her cell phone. Should I call David? she questioned herself, continuing to hope that no one had been injured or fallen ill as she flipped the device open, skimming her phone list. But once his name had been highlighted, Namini furrowed her brows together and slid the phone back to its original position in her purse. She had to trust her brother .. for once.
-Thud!-
David felt a sudden shock run through his chest as he glanced curiously around. What was that suspicious feeling? ...Oh well, it quickly passed but it left his body aching once again. Thank god for Anita's tissues though. With the removal of the blood and sweat from his face and torso, David felt somewhat relieved. But still, the heater continued to hiss violently and--
-CLANG BANG THUMP!!!-
"DAMN!" the man yelped in surprise as their cage struggled to regain its composure once again. That's when he heard it. That beautiful noise!! Looking up, he squinted as the lights began to bzzt and zip! as their strength returned. Light had been restored but to David, it was like a gift from the Heavens! Jumping up, he was filled with a newfound energy as he quickly turned his attention to the door.
Please. PLEASE. If there is a God, let that door open. If there is a God, pleaseeeee let there be some blessed stander by equipped with an Aquafina! he thought excitedly.

Josh was tossed a bit off balance as the elevator tumbled and roared back to life. He could hear the buzz of the artificial lighting and his eyes strained against the sudden brightness illuminating the cabin. On the bright side, there was light. On the not-so-bright side, he could make out everyone and everything in the elevator. They had managed to do a number on the mirrored wall. Josh cringed as he noticed the cracked and splintered glass overlaying the spoiled floor. He wiped off the last traces of blood garnishing his furrowed brow and crumpled the mess of tissues in his hands. The boy reached for his shirt and folded it up hastily. He tucked it away under the arm that also held the heap of sullied Kleenex. So it would seem that they would be free in a matter of seconds. Hopefully…
‘THUNK…. CLANG-CLANG…. crrrreeeeeaaaakkkk'
That noise sound like pure bliss to Josh’s ears. He perked as his notice the thin shaft of light peeking out from the doors. They were opening. That’s right, opening! The boy hurriedly sat up and gazed at the doors with childish glee as if it was Christmas all over again. He could feel he cool air streaming through the thin channel the rescue team had made. It was pure bliss! The rapture only grew as the opening expanded revealing frenzied personnel and worried officials. However, the only thing that was on the boy’s mind was freedom.

The last loud thunk and jolt of movement nearly sent Ani falling to her knees, but she grabbed the waist-high bar in front of her to keep from doing that. Quickly she fumbled with her tank top, only looking for a split second to make sure it would be going the right way before pulling it on lopsidedly. Bright light made her wince and she hunkered down, hanging her head to keep her bangs in front of her eyes as a shield until the adjusted.
Cool air.
More light.
The colder air was cutting through the heat like a knife, moving through the narrow opening like ghostly tendrils, lightly touching each of them in its path. It moved along their exposed skin, giving immediate relief and drying any sweat that lingered or was being freshly made.
Picking her bag up and returning to a stand, she feebly adjusted her tank top so her stomach was covered a bit more. There were people. A large group of people, and not just the workers. There was one girl that stood out, though. She looked a little like David... that must have been his sister, Na..Namini! Yes. It seemed in all of the disgusting heat and commotion, she actually had paid attention. What a miracle. And there, right before them: Freedom.
It was over. The heat, the fighting, the trauma, the awkwardness. ...or maybe not. Both of the boys were still quite undressed. Explanations? No, that wasn't necessary.
Ani adjusted the strap of her bag on her shoulder and started to move into the crowd. She spotted her friend from before, but decided she didn't want to chat right then, and her game could certainly wait.

With the creeping entrance of crisp, absolutely refreshing summer air, David felt his heart leap out of his chest. There was a God!! He was also so happy he could cry but with the unveiling of a small crowd, the man's pride and previous stature returned. He exited with nothing more than a relieved grin, scanning the noisily applauding group for a familiar face. David quickly spotted her for she was the only one to start crying. Like the others, freedom had been on his mind too but his dear sister had been in his heart, somehow controlling his thoughts today and assisting in creating an ordeal he'd rather forget. Opening his arms in anticipation, David quickly frowned as he saw how worried Namini had been. Oh no, not over him, but over all three. Anita was her first prey, though the girls hadn't even been introduced to one another.
"A-Ani!" Namini stuttered, basically hug-tackling the girl whose name slipped her mind. She knew it had to be longer but those three letters were all that came to mind. "Are you okay?!"
She could have cared less how awkward this was for Anita, for Namini was just so thankful the trio somehow made it out alive. Her overactive imagination seemed to have gone through a million, deadly scenarios in which the three had managed to die from lack of oxygen or that...she blushed. Squeezing the girl once more, Namini's cerulean eyes looked past her and locked onto her next victim. No, not her brother, who began to feel a quiet jealousy raging within him, but Josh. Jumping energetically from the utterly surprised girl, Namini then latched herself onto Josh as David felt a protective chill run up his spine, narrowing his eyes on Josh's hands. Once completely out of the elevator, he waited impatiently for his sister's affections.
"JOSH!!" she squealed, tears still spilling from her eyes. "Are you okay, too?"
Beginning to hiccup, Namini suddenly took notice of the frown on David's face and waved cheerfully at him and the man couldn't help but smile. He'd get a hug eventually, all he had to be was patient.

Josh was the last to trudge from the confines of the elevator. He took his time in order to appreciate the ravishing feeling of the chilled air against his skin. So this is what heaven felt like? Josh was just about to make a smooth getaway, avoid taking claim for the shattered mirror, and begin his way home. He would have, if it wasn’t for sudden weight clinging to his chest. The boy looked down and auburn pools met tear stained seas. The poor girl’s eyes looked completely water logged! Namini looked more upset then the three who had just gone through the entire ordeal. Josh took action, his body moving faster than his conscience. He reached out his arms and gingerly wrapped them around her hiccupping frame. His voice poured out soothingly, “I’m fine, but I should be asking the same thing to you. You don’t have to get so upset over me.” He took one of his unused tissues and made a move to dab at her puffy eyes. His negligible injuries seemed forgotten as his charm gushed forward. “I’ll feel a lot better if you give me a smile.” His own lips broke into a charismatic smirk.
Suddenly feeling modest, Josh broke from the chaste hug and slipped his shirt back on. It was probably best that Namini didn’t witness the bruise adoring his stomach. He would prefer not to explain his battle wounds and upset the girl further. Plus, Josh was becoming uncomfortable from the attention they were receiving from the accumulating spectators. He could only handle a scant amount of people seeing him half nude in one day, outside of sports that is.

Anita was nearly thrown back into the elevator with how hard she had been hugged by the girl, running at her. For several moments of the hug she was dumbstruck--too dumbstruck to do anything but stare wide eyed into the crowd past Namini's curly black hair. Almost at the last moment of the contact did she raise her hand and pat the nearly sobbing girl on her back, "I-I'm okay..." Confused, though. She couldn't recall just when David had told his sister what her name was, or if he had at all.
It didn't take long for Namini to let go, though, and move on to the next person in line: not her brother. She seemed to be going in order of least familiar to most. Josh was the middle man. She was so tempted, still. To just find her way through the large crowd to a stair well and leave without worrying about this anymore. She had their numbers if the need ever arose, but... something about doing it didn't seem quite right when this stranger, this girl had been so terribly worried of her. Some one she hadn't even met.
No. She would stay. She would wait. Wait through the crowd that continued to stare and make comments and murmur to themselves while the people who had worked on getting the elevator operational once again were beginning to move away from the large group that somehow seemed to keep growing at an alarming rate. Was everyone from the building gathering around this one elevator?
"Ani?"
Teddy.
She made eye contact briefly but gave him a dismissive wave in the mean time. Now he knew she was fine, and that was all there was to it. She would catch up with him later, but now... Ani glanced briefly at David while Namini was checking up on the younger male; his expression was sour...for a moment or two. Namini, whatever look she had given him, had caused it to turn right around. And for her, too.
This girl's relief and happiness was infectious.

As soon as Josh's request was thrown into the air, like some kind of playful kitten, Namini reached for it, a pure hearted smile dancing across her features. She continued to smile innocently even when Josh lightly guided her aside so that he could put on his shirt, though within a moment or two afterwards, Namini felt a heat across her face. She had been hugging..he had been shirtless.. Quickly, she looked for a distraction. Her cerulean eyes fell upon her anticipating brother and she leaped into his arms, uncaring if he was shirtless. David let out a small "oof!" when she lovingly tackled him and nuzzled her tear-stained face into his chest.
"David, you're okay too right--Ohmygod!" her inquiring eyes froze when they locked on to the trickle of blood sliding down David's forehead. He put a hand to his forehead, unknowing of what she was looking at, and cursed. He was still bleeding, dammit. Head wounds were the worst. And yet, a part of him was surprised with the fact that he actually thought he would get out of this situation, home free. Immediately, David returned his gaze to his sister, hoping she hadn't fainted or began to cry again. Surprisingly, the girl fell quiet, simply staring at the wound. That's when she whipped around and looked at the other two. The crowd was murmuring and gawking at the quartet noisily, but Namini heard none of it. Rather she forced their audience to gasp in shock when she went over to Josh and lifted his shirt boldly. Ah, a bruise. A bruise that was all too familiar in size and freshness.
"DAVID!" she hissed, though her eyes were searing into Josh's face with a concerned kind of burning. The older Nao looked away from everyone nervously, even considering taking refuge in the elevator once again. "You two fought! David! Look at me when I'm talking to you! What happened?!"
The crowd erupted into a dramatic "ooohh!" as they awaited a kind of divorced-couple brawl. Instead though, David quickly scooped his sister up, tossing her over his shoulder and waved goodbye towards the others teens.
"Call me whenever you feel like gaming, kay?" he purred, winking at Anita but turning and frowning at Josh. Namini pounded lightly on her brother's back, obviously angrier than she ever expressed before,
"David Yongrui Nao! Put. me. DOWN!" Namini literally shrilled the last word, before David walked through the crowd and "accidentally" bumped her head on a descending ceiling by the staircase. The two soon disappeared with only a disgruntled "You're so noisy." left behind, the crowd in utter confusion. ...What had just happened?

Josh nearly snickered as a thin trail of blood slid down David’s temple. So he would be found out after all? Josh would have snickered, if it wasn’t for the sudden icy cold gripping his chest. He squeaked in embarrassment and made a move to bring his shirt back down. "N-NAMINI!!" Too late. Namini had already seen all she needed to see. Josh cringed as the girl began a motherly rampage through the crowd. However, her display did not last long. She was throw over David’s shoulder like a sack of grain and carried off in a matter of seconds. The only words clinging in the air were their fading cries.
Josh peered over at Ani and gave her an impish smile, “Don’t be afraid to keep in touch with me.” The boy waved as if dismissing himself and began to follow down the stairs to exit the building. He was not going to be around when the authorities actually looked in the elevator and saw the spoiled and blood stained surfaces. He would be in enough trouble when he arrived at home.

They seemed so eager to keep contact with her, it was strange. She only prayed it wasn't because of the skin she had reluctantly flaunted for them, and it was a true interest in her. In her friendship. Ani waved to David and Namini but her hand flopped back down to her side as the girl's head hit against a bit of ceiling. He should be more careful... Josh, too, took his leave and she was left in the crowd with only one of her friends.
She broke out into a jog, whirling around just to call out that she would 'call him later'. Her quest for a stairwell had begun, just as the adventure of the stuck elevator had ended. Despite the circumstances, since it was now over.. she was pleased. Two new friends with similar interests (both of them fairly attractive, though that was in the back of her mind), and even if they weren't nice to each other they could try and attempt to save face and be somewhat nice around her.
Yes. She was pleased.
