But an angel's wings are attached to the angel anyways. You're going to ask him to tear off his wings and give them to you?

Some wings, not his. And not pigeon wings either, that could be a loophole.

I'm thinking they come in a box. And the printing on the box was designed by the same guys who did the Apple adds.

...Okay, this has gotten way off track. I think the original topic was incest/rape exceptions?

Nah, I'm pretty sure it was on "Theories of Angelic Locomotion and Freedoms"

Srsly though, if anyone wants to go back to the original intent, feel free and I'll join in. But I see no real harm in allowing a bit of lighthearted talk about random things.

Edit so as not to break the precious rules again- NO U.

Sure, but do it in the hangout thread. That's the reason we have threads; If we wanted to wander from topic to topic, we'd be /b/.

The rape/incest thing is a tough one, but here's a way to look at it:
Killing the baby doesn't make you clean. Actually, it puts you at the same level of the rapist because the rapist ruined your life and now you've just taken a life. Also if the victim had the baby, thanks to advances in forensic science, they could use the baby's saliva for DNA testing and identify the rapist. As for *****, those dirty, rotten S.O.B's (a term from my grandpa) use secret abortions to cover up their crimes.
I think we should putting rapists and ***** in prison, not killing babies.

I dont think that way whatsoever ........ If your raped you should punish the child for someone elses wrong doing .....

I hear this a lot, but I don't understand why DNA testing can't be done even if there is an abortion. I mean, I understand why things like the morning after pill or the abortion pill would make it so DNA testing couldn't be done, but in the event of a surgical abortion, I would think that DNA testing would be possible.

Anyone care to enlighten me?

You're right. Thanks to forensic science, we can do a paternity test while a woman is still pregnant. We can find DNA off of a dead adult, I don't see what would stop them from doing a test on a dead fetus.

Welcome back, by the way!

Many women say they were raped but really are afraid of unplanned pregnancy. BUT if you take it to court and 12 jurors say, "yes, this was a rape" you can get an abortion. Personally I think it's still wrong though.

This is such a difficult argument, because it is insisting on one person's life over another, and the circumstances are contingent on people's willingness to go through with a pregnancy that was forced on to them instead of being a choice and a gift they've made and brought into their lives.

Legally it makes sense, too, because it is almost self-defence-- the actions done to the woman were done without consent, therefore, it nullifies responsibility (if you wish, and if you agree with this assertion) in the non-consensual pregnancy.

Not an easy situation to think about but one that gets continually addressed.

I just wish it would stop being the focus of pro-choice arguments. It's such a tiny percentage of overall abortion, it's barely worth mentioning.
