"Well...sometimes...it's best to keep your secrets from your family. When you know that they'd only be hurt by what you would tell them. And in my family, you can't keep those secrets, because someone always finds out eventually." Alyna knew that from experience. Her whole family had been in an uproar after she had made friends with a Half-Kalona. She was only a foal, and she hadn't understood why they were so upset. Afterwards, she vowed never to see her mother's face like that again, all filled with worry and fear. That was when she started trying to keep secrets.
"But I suppose it's not so bad for them to know everything...just a bit annoying sometimes." She arched her back, stretching a bit before she lay down, brushing her back up against the bark of the willow tree. "This is really very nice, Israfel...I'm so glad you knew about this place."

He stretched as well and laid down next to her. "I am glad I was told about this place! Dustin, a Wind who lives at the teepee with my family, comes here often and he told me about it when I was a foal." he replied and looked about. He understood why the older stallion came here often. It was so beautiful and peaceful.
"That is true. I would hate to see anything but a smile on my grandmother's face. Though, I try not to do anything that would not sit right with my family. Better to just not get in trouble than to deal with the consiquences, ya know?" he said and looked down at her laying beside him. She looked so happy and peaceful and she seemed to fit in this special place.

Alyna curled up against Israfel, snuggling up against his curly mane. She was very happy nestled beside him. It felt like her world was perfect, that nothing could go wrong. "True. It is better to not get in trouble...but I always managed to do just that, whether I wanted to or not. Trouble seems to follow me around." She chuckled, remembering all the mishaps she got into as a foal. "Hopefully, my days of mayhem and misfortune are at an end. At least, there haven't been any episodes lately. Perhaps I've grown up enough not to get in that kind of trouble anymore."

Israfel chuckled and laid his head across her back. "Well, my middle name isn't trouble and I think I am the only thing following you around at the moment. My brother was the one who would get into a lot of trouble when we were little and I was the gullable one who went along with it." he said remembering the time Antirr had told him they were going somewhere and how horrified thier mother was once she found them. "We got such a scolding from mom when we got home that I didn't listen to him anymore when he tried to get me to do something." he finished and smiled at her.

Alyna smiled, and nuzzled him happily. It was so nice, to be curled up with Israfel...
"I think I was the one getting my brother in trouble all the time." she admitted, smiling bashfully. "I don't think he minded much, though, he's a very curious sort." She sighed happily and grinned at him. "You know, I don't mind you following me around. You don't look like trouble to me."
"So...about us. Where do we go from here?" she asked, her eyes wide with uncertainty. Innocent, and naive, she only knew that she was happy snuggled up to Israfel. She didn't know what else there was...but she would find out soon enough.

"Well that's a good thing. I don't want to cause you trouble. As for what do we do now, I am still not sure. I guess we can say that we are dating? If that is the right way to put it." he said thoughtfully. He liked the sound of it. He really did like her and enjoy her company. He knew that they were not mated. That just didn't happen in one meeting and they weren't planning on having foals anytime soon. "We can see each other every now and then and hang out, kind of like friends would do."

"That sounds wonderful. Except I don't think friends would do this," Alyna said, planting a quick peck on his cheek. "Which is why it's called dating, I'm sure." Alyna knew that she liked being around him, but she didn't know how long her restless spirit would stay in this one area. Hopefully it would be a while, as she was still intrigued by this stallion, and wanted to see exactly what this whole "dating" thing was about. However, she knew enough to know that she didn't want a mate just yet. She was too young, and the world held too much attraction for her. That didn't mean that she couldn't have a bit of fun with Israfel, though. There was no harm in that, surely not. After all, they both knew this was only temporary, or at least Alyna thought they did. And it was for that reason that she snuggled up closer to Israfel. Because she knew that although she wanted to stay forever, her wanderer's spirit wouldn't allow her to do that, and that one day, she'd have to let him go.
