Something about the way she said it persuaded Korai not to push her for more details. "Come on, you guys," he said nodding back the way they'd come. "We're out of here."

Arron nodded and seemed to relax a little. They were finally leaving...The earth was giving him the creeps...
Irvine frowned. "Why?"
Mirage shook her head and started to walk away from the forest. It wasn't safe here...it simply wasn't...

"Because I'm not comfortable trying to take on something we can barely sense and can't see," Korai responded nodding again in the way they'd come from. "Come on, we can speak with father about it when we get back. Maybe he'll know what it was..."
"More likely he'll ground us for coming out here in the first place," Sorin muttered even as he started back down the path. Even he knew that when Korai got into these moods he meant business.

Irvine sulked but didn't argue anymore....He knew when to stop.
Arron took the lead, anxious to get away from the eyes that watched.
Mirage took a look back, sighed softly and turned back around to follow.

***A Few Days Later***
"Sorin, watch your back!" Korai called ducking just a split second before his attacker's blade passed through where his head had been moments before.
"Ha! Watch your own!" Sorin called back grinning at his own opponent. He loved it when he was paired up against Arron - it was kinda like shooting fish in a barrel. "You sure you know how to use that thing?" he asked his little brother lazily yawning.
"That was a little too close that time, Irvine," Korai remarked running his hoof through his mane, noting the tips were a little singed. Just another day in sparing practice.

Irvine smiled softly as he picked up his blade and charged his twin from behind.
Arron scuttled over to Korai with some water.

"Hey, Hey, HEY!" Sorin yelped swinging his own blade around to block, sparks flying off the two shafts of lightning. "No fair, you're suppose to be sparing Korai!"
"Calm down, Arron," Korai said shaking his head. "I'm fine, just a bit singed." Still he took the water his brother offered, pulling it so it gracefully flew through the air and coated the smoking tips of his mane. "How are you doing? Sorin's not being too rough on you, is he?"

"Nah. I'll eventually kick his butt one day." He grinned. Sure it was a long shot but someday right?
Irvine laughed. "Well technically we're suppose to spar each other."

"Aw come on," Sorin muttered. "This was suppose to be my easy day." The teen flashed a grin at his twin suddenly yanking back his sword and spinning around, "Guess I'll have to make it a fun day instead!"
"That's good, Sorin needs a little sense beat into him every now and then," Korai laughed. "You know, grandmother's brother is reputed to be a weapon's master of sorts. Maybe we should look into finding him, we might be able to learn something from him."

"You think so? What if we never find him? Then what?" Arron asked tilting his head.
"You simple continue to find anyone who can teach you what they know," came a soft sweet voice.
Irvine laughed. "It's never an easy day, Sorin. You should know that by now!" He readied his stance.

Korai looked over to see the same girl they'd met in the forest the other day watching their practice. "Indeed," he agreed. "We'll keep looking till we find someone and keep training until we are masters. Their are many great warriors in the valley, many of them pledging to the same herd leaders as we do. We'll find someone."
"Just because they're not easy doesn't mean we can't have fun!" Sorin laughed leaping at his twin engaging in mock battle. "En garde foul fiend!"

Mirage offered a small smile in Korai's direction. "Plenty of warriors. So there'll b e plenty of techniques to learn."
Arron giggled softly before he peeked over to the other two sparring.
Irvine grinned and blocked his brother's attacks. "oh really?"

Korai rolled his eyes not noticing the smile. "You two had better not hurt each other again. I'm not healing you this time, I mean it," he said repeating the blatant lie. Of course he'd heal the little numbskulls when they'd hurt themselves, after giving them both a good smack for their efforts.
"Take that, you vile vampire!" Sorin laughed stabbing at Irvine. "You shall not defeat me!"

"Guess again hunter!" mocked Irvine as he blocked and jabbed after.
Mirage watched the two mock each other. They were merely horsing around but she couldn't help but shudder a little at the mention of vile vampire....and it made her a little sad...
