Username: Alcyone Teshigahara
Character Name: Espa Sade- Psyche Aelethe-Monroe
Age: 22
Race: Human with Elven blood (A quarter Elvish)
Gender: Female
Height: 5'5
Weight: 150 lbs.
Title: Blessed Ranger of Sibyll
Weapons: Bow and arrow, double short swords, whips, grappling chains, ropes, and brass knuckles.
Alignment: None
Description: Espa has one grey eye and one green-blue eye, which is usually the first thing that one notices about her physically if she isn't hiding one or the other under a metal and leather eyepatch like she usually does to fit in when she is in urban areas. Then again, the eyepatch is usually noticed first if one of her eyes is covered. The second thing that one usually notices is her beautiful hair- an undercolor of black with numerous browns streaking it ranging from a coffee brown to a golden, honey color. There are two pieces of hair that frame her face that are platinum white, like her mother's hair. Her skin is a warm brown from being out in the sun a lot and she is usually smiling.
Her build is strong for a woman of her size but she certainly doesn't look it. She may look as though she could be a push over in a fight but as her opponents soon descover, she is built for speed and can put a hell of a lot of force in her punches and kicks.
She is also usually clad in brown or black leather with a cowboy hat on her head. Even during the summer evenings, she is almost never seen without her dark brown duster even though she may be wearing a light shirt.
Her Elven blood shows through but a little. The tops of her ears are slighty pointed and her green-blue eye is proof of her lineage. Her Elven nature has given her a disposition for archery and a bit of a kinship with the animals she hunts and her buckskin horse, Zephyr.
Origins: Western Avalana
Personality: Espa is loud and rambunctious, playful and enjoys a good joke. Even during combat, she is likely to joke around while being totally serious. She enjoys a good bar fight and will rarely back down from one. Her three friends and companions, Saruo Tremain, Rymfire Crimsonstone, and Mick Brightman, are with her constantly and treat her as one of the guys but at the same time will jump in and help her if she bites off more than she can chew.
Despite her coarse outward appearance, she is still harbors a shred of femininity. When the guys are injured, she is the first to start treating wounds and looks after them. She has deep feelings for all three and loves them likes brothers -perhaps more. She constantly monitors how much alcohol Rymfire has had to drink, keeps an eye on the womanizer Mick, and worries about Saruo's raging blade fetish a lot.
History: Espa was born to a half-elf mother (Calliope Aelethe) and a human father (Jonathan Monroe). Her grandfather is the brother of Sibyll's grandfather. Calliope is the daughter of Aesirnan Aelethe and his human servant, Sylvia, with whom he fell in love with. Eitherway, Calliope was given the Aelethe family name and her children were allowed to bear it as well. So, When Espa was born, her name was hyphenated to include her mother's maiden name.
Her father was a horse rancher whose land lay beside a vast forest, not far from a little town and the. It was here that Espa learned how to handle horses and wrangle them. She admired her father very much and liked watching him break the horses. He taught her the art of husbandry- breeding horses so that a high quality horse would be the result. She also liked to help her father break the wild hores that he brought in but out of fear for his daugther's safety, he would very rarely do this.
Her mother did not worry much. Because of her blood, Espa would very likely have an affinity with animals and she did. Her mother also taught her to use a bow, which was another inclination her blood gave her. Espa used to look up to her half-Elven mother in awe as the usually reserved and lady-like woman would take the bow from her hands, nock an arrow, stand very straight, draw the bowstring back, and let it fly, her arrow speeding straight and true towards the bulls-eye but usually landing a little to the side of the center. Then she would become the beautiful half-Elven woman she was 90% of the time and hand the bow back to Espa so she could try.
Espa was a fast learner and a good child on the whole but with one troubling tendency- she liked to "runaway". Whether it be running away to hide in a kitchen cabinet or in the forest, she liked to go on "adventures" and boast about them to all the other children at the school in town. Her parents asked her to at least tell them when she would be back so they knew that it was time to start looking for her when she had not returned by then.
Her wandering tendencies aside, Espa was also a bit of a freakish child in that she always seemed to know exactly what was on people's minds and could finish people's sentences. Her mother figured out almost immediately that her daughter had inherited her grandfather's psychic tendencies and wrote to him immediately. He came immediately to the ranch and began to teach his granddaughter how to harness her abilities which were not limited to mind reading- she could use a little bit of telekinesis, infuse an object with energy, and use chi to put an even larger dent in an object that she hit among other things. Aesirnan also taught her how to fight using an Elvish style of combat similar to a "push-hands" style that redirects and enemy's attacks and teaches you to move with them. It really was a sight to see Aesirnan in action and a treat to spar with him.
In school, she was bored and aloof but was an A student- she got the answers from reading the mind of the smartest kid in class. During recess, she would play with the boys in their rough and tumble games rather than gather flowers with the girls. She never got along with the girls at all because they teased her about her bi-colored eyes and was a total tomboy, rough housing and bragging about her "adventures". A classmate, Mick Brightman (bookworm, jokester, and language freak), asked her if he could go "adventuring" with her and she agreed. They became fast friends and big braggarts in short order. They called themselves the "Wondering Duo" and made armbands with the words "Wondering Duo" written on it with black ink. Then they learned how to spell when Conrad Brightman saw the armbands and laughingly corrected it. Now their armbands had a crossed out first "o" with an a scribbled in on top.
The "Wandering Duo" soon took on a third member, the timid Saruo Tremain who always seemed to have cuts on his body. Now they were the "Wandering Trio" and made new headbands instead of armbands, this time, spelling "wandering" correctly. The trio were inseperable and went on many "adventures". Soon they started camping and through trial and error, learned how to survive in the wilderness. They learned how to fish, hunt, forage, create shelter, and prepare food for eating. Mick's parents owned a bookstore so they were able to read books on the subject. Saruo's parents were weaponsmiths and through Saruo, they were able to get weapons and such. It was about that time that Espa and Mick realized that the shy Saruo had a latent blade fetish and the cuts were self-inflicted or at least inflicted by his crazed father who used his quiet son to test the sharpness of a blade. This made him even more introverted but when he teamed up with Espa and Mick, his personality began to change and he was at least sociable.
Since the town was located near the Temple of Fire, there were quite a few Fire Initiates and Acolytes in their school, one of which was Rymfire Crimsonstone, an orphan who had been adopted by the Fire mages of the temple and was currently a Fire Acolyte. Rymfire, Rym for short, liked Espa and her friends and asked to go on one of their "adventures". "If anything," he said," I can make a fire." That was enough to be accepted into the trio which was no longer a trio. So they made new headbands and proudly called themselves the Losers. Whenever Rym had time off from the temple, he went with them they camped for a few days until Rym had to return to the temple.
At Espa's 16th birthday party, there were just family members and 3 friends there. Her father presented her with a beautiful buckskin stallion whom she named Zephyr because of his speed. Saruo gave her a pair of short swords that could be strapped across the back or attached to a saddle. Rym gave her a gold chain with a ruby pendant that had been blessed in the temple. He also kept relighting her candles on her birthday cake as she blew them out. Mick gave her boonie hat (think Crocodile Dundee... sort of) and a slap on the a** in front of her parents. The gift from her mother was her very own Elven bow and quiver. Her grandfather gave her a moonstone choker that would help her focus her power better. Espa loved all her presents except for Mick's slap to the a** which had left a welt she said.
When Espa turned 18, she formally requested to leave the house. She explained to her parents that she wanted to wander and make her own way in life. Her parents considered it carefully and allowed her to as long as she take one of her friends with her. So she asked her friends and all three volunteered at once. They talked it over. Saruo said it would be no problem for him to leave his home- his parents had been pressuring him to open a weapons shop elsewhere anyways. Mick said his parents frankly didn't give s**t what he did as long as he didn't end up a bum or cult leader. Rymfire (by this time a Fire Adept) said that he would make the necessary notifications to the temple in the morning and be ready to go in a week.
So they gathered at the Monroe ranch a week later and were surprised when Espa's father gave them each a horse and Espa's mother had made them leather traveling cloaks and fashioned pretty broachs of silver and onyx shaped like north stars in an Elven design to keep the cloaks closed. Aesirnan gave Espa an Aelethe family ring that would help them if ever they got into a pinch since the Aelethe family was respected among Elves and humans alike. They said their thank-yous and good byes and set out to wander.
Years passed and they soon learned that they could make money from the pelts of the animals they hunted for food. Some of the rarer animals had pelts that only nobility could afford and these animals were found easily by the 4. By this time, Saruo had become a proficient weapons-master or Steel Mage as Rym liked to call him. Mick had become quite the trickster and was referred to as Moon Mage by Rym and the Illusionist by the others. Rym himself was always working on his magic and conversing with the fire spirits, inventing new techniques and doing creative things with the flame. Espa had figured out a way to extend her body's chi to cover the weapon she was fighting with to allow stronger attacks.
It was when Espa was 20 that she met her 2nd cousin, Sibyll, for the first time. Sibyll asked Rym, Saruo, and Mick to join her Circle of Mages. Mick was surprised to find his little brother Jack and older brother Conrad as members of the Circle. Rym represented Fire and Saruo represented 'the bounty of the Earth' as Sibyll put it. Mick said Rym represented a pyromaniac and Saruo represented unashamed masochism but that was just his opinion. They didn't want to abandon their way of life and least of all, Espa. Sibyll merely told them that they didn't have to abandon their way of life and gave them each a ring that would summon them if Sibyll needed them. Besides, it was nice to have a few rangers so Sibyll made all four of them Blessed Rangers and promised to watch over them.
Nowadays, Espa and her party frequent Laburnum City where they find that their furs and other things they trap or find on their travels fetch high prices here. People from the East pay good money for animals and furs from the West and Western people pay top dollar for quality goods from the East. Either way, it is profitable and the four have earned themselves a reputation as good traders and excellent rangers.
A note on Espa's ability: She can read minds but only for a short amount of time. She has yet to perfect her ability. In addition to the mind-reading, she can mentally "blast" someone as in give them a sudden and severe migraine, send them reeling that sort of thing. She can only do this a few times per day.

Fast forward to the present and we have Asahi and Irihi Hirano who are not only twins, but excellent doctors. When they were 20, the Dark Elemental that the Teshigahara had been favored by asked a favor from them. It asked if the Hirano twins would be the next wardens of a vassal of his. One night, two bands of opposing warriors clashed over the ranch. One group was angry at the other and was furious that the Orinosuke's had given refuge to their enemy. In a single night, the ranch house was torched, the boys' parents killed. The next morning the boys decided to head up the mountain to look for the Teshigahara ninja clan. Iesada and Toshiro were welcomed with open arms to the clan. The gangs had stolen most of their horses and after a 3 month campaign led by Iesada and Makoto, they brought back the horses that had been stolen. Soon thereafter, Toshiro married Alcyone and a little bit after that, Iesada married Kohana. His youngest brother Shahai was chosen over him and in a fury, he betrayed his clan, slaying his baby brother. When the Daisaishi found out, he ordered Jusai arrested. His middle brother Tsimaru drugged him and dragged him to the Daisaishi who in an elaborate ceremony, banished his soul from his body. At about the same time, the Dark Elemental who watched over and favored the Teshigahara was having trouble with one of his vassals- Kalani. When Kalani finally went to far and betrayed his master, the Dark Spirit banished Kalani into Jusai's body. It did this with Tsimaru's (the new Kamikage) and the Daisaishi's permission of course. His name was changed to Keito, to better suit him. Since then, the Shadow priests of the clan have kept Keito as their ward for 200 years and also as their secret weapon. Presently, he is in the combined custody of Asahi and Irihi, his handpicked wardens. Keito likes Irihi a lot and is very attached to her. He will move to protect Asahi but not nearly as fast as he will move to protect Irihi. If he percieves any threat to her being, he will immediately neutralize it. Tasogare Name: Tasogare Saetayoru- Teshigahara Age: 28 Race: Human Gender: Male Height: 5'10 Weight: 175lbs. Title: Jonin Description: Tasogare has hair that is a bluish purple that gets lighter at the ends and darker at the roots, hence his name. His eyes are a strange mixture of red fading to purple fading to black. He is very strong and is revered among his equally odd-looking clansmen as being a prodigy and genius. Tasogare also has a marked lazy streak. Personality: Smart, strong, and silly. All are words that describe Tasogare Saetayoru- Teshigahara. He is a fine ninja and a good example of the quality of the Teshigahara ninja. However, he has a bit of a spiritual side. He enjoys meditation under a starry sky and finds beauty in all things. Specialty: Edged weapons (Primary: Ninja-to Secondary: Koshigatana) Special Technique: Shiden Strike (Purple Swordflash Strike) History: Tasogare grew up as the 2nd cousin to his clan's leader. Even young, he was a prodigy and a child genius, becoming a Genin by the age of 6 and a Chuunin by the age of 10. He became a Jonin when he was 17. He could've advanced in rank when he was younger but being a Jonin meant he would take on more responsibilities- something he didn't want. Despite his laziness, he was selected as the Saetayoru clan heir. When Kouji Tsukioka joined the clan, Tasogare found a good friend in him. Their skills were incomparable against each other since they were experts in different fields but they had a mutual respect for each other and loved goofing off together. Tasogare is also married to Sasori Dokugamoto, the potential heir to the Dokugamoto clan. Their marriage is an arranged one so as to help both of their situations. Sasori Name: Sasori Dokugamoto- Teshigahara Age: 25 Race: Human Gender: Female Height: 5'5 Weight: 135lbs. Title: Jonin- Temporary leader of the Teshigahara ninja team Description: Sasori's hair is a deep raspberry in color and is short. Her eyes are a deep violet red and her skin is a creamy ivory color. She is usually frowning or has an annoyed look on her face. Sasori is lithe, agile and built for speed. Across her back, she has a massive tattoo of a scorpion with a red Ħ on her back- marking her as a member of the Dokugamoto. Personality: Sasori rarely lets any emotion show on her face. Prone to making snide remarks, she has a wry sense of humor that seems to rub almost everyone the wrong way. She doesn't speak but when she does, she usually succeeds in pissing someone off. Even Alcyone can't stand her some days. Her attitude mostly comes from the fact that she is very stoic and disciplined. It is hard for her to relax and laugh since she is very mission-minded. Specialty: Poisons, throwing weapons, and chain weapons. Special Techniques: Venomous Rain and Silent Sting History: Like Tasogare, Sasori is the prodigy for her clan. She became a Genin at the age of 5 and a Chuunin when she was 9. At the young age of 15, she became a Jonin and their clan head selected an heir. Everyone was sure that Sasori was going to be chosen but the Dokugamoto clan leader chose his own 18 year old son, Iori, who was a Chuunin at the time and made Sasori his bodyguard. That way, Sasori couldn't challenge him for clan leadership. Sasori was furious and contemplated how to take the clanship from her worthless charge. It was futile. There really was no way for her to win. However, she had a hidden ally in Tasogare Saetayoru. Tasogare talked her into meeting him one night beside a waterfall. He told her of a way out of her current situation- marriage. She had considered that angle but could not think of anyone who would marry her simply to help her. Now, she had an ideal way out. They planned the charade and one year later, they were married. That freed Sasori from her duties as a bodyguard to Iori. Now, she is waiting for the chance to be able to challenge Iori and become the head of the Dokugamoto clan. Hisui Name: Hisui Kurochi- Teshigahara Age: 17 Race: Human Gender: Female Height: 5'2 Weight: 125lbs. Title: Chuunin Description: Hisui has short light brown hair that is kept in a ponytail high on her head. Her eyes are a beautiful jade green, hence her name. Her skin is a little darker than Sasori's but still a rich peach. She is small for her age but agile. Personality: Hisui is bubbly and charming. She is well liked within the Teshigahara clan. Though she lacks maturity, she has a good and strong heart- and an obsession over Kouji Tsukioka. She is more concerned about love and romance than ninjitsu and so it's a miracle that she even became a Chuunin. Specialty: Hand to hand combat and double tessens Special Techniques: Double Kamikaze Strike History: Not much to say about Hisui. She is the bright spot among the dark and moody Kurochi clan and the beloved niece of the clan leader. She studies ninjitsu only because she has to and starting learning to wield the tessen because it was a family thing. She studied hand to hand combat and excelled in it without wanting to and "accidentally" became a tessen expert. She was taught by Alcyone herself how to use tessens. When Kouji joined the clan, it was like love at first sight for her. She was 11 and he was 21- 10 years apart. He was her motivation to excel at the ninja arts. She wanted him to notice her so she did her best and became a fine ninja if not one who has her priorities mixed up. When Kouji left to travel with Alcyone, she was 14 and depressed. Perhaps, she thought, if she became good enough, she would be sent to Koukiyo to help. Her patience and hard work paid off. She was selected to be on the Laburnum ninja team.

Username: Played by Degobah46, but written by Alcyone Teshigahara Character Name: Mickael 'Mick' Ansen Brightman Age: 22 Race: Human Gender: Male Height: 5'10 Weight: 170lbs. Alignment: Darkness (sort of) Title: Moon mage of Sibyll's Circle; Blessed Ranger of Sibyll Weapons: Magestaff, wires for cutting through people or controlling their limbs (explained in bio), whip Description: Mick has long, platinum white hair and pale grey eyes. He is tall, thin, strong, and his skin is tanned rather dark from being out in the sun a lot. His hands are calloused and he has a few scars scattered about his body. More prominent is the white crescent moon birthmark, points to the left, on his forehead that he usually keeps covered with a headband or hat to prevent gawking. At the base of his throat, there is a round white spot. On his solar plexus, there is a perfectly round white birthmark with dark edging and just below his navel is a white crescent moon birthmark with the points to the right. On the palm of his left hand is a round red spot and on the palm of his left is an odd round blue spot. On his left foot is a black spot symbolizing the new moon and on his right foot, there is a second eclipse. Personality: Mick is a trickster by very nature. He is an illusionist and loves tricking people and joking around. One might think this would make him popular but it doesn't. Since he chose to hang out with Espa, Saruo, and Rym, the other kids lumped him in as a loser. Besides, he was rather freakish anyways, they thought. What kind of boy plays pranks and plays with puppets? In addition to being a pain in the a** and the class clown, Mick also has an adventuring spirit which drew him to Espa. He and Espa are very close and have an odd understanding of each other. Being close to Espa gives him a sense of security and serenity for whatever reason and he is very protective of her. He is also very intimate with his friends and has no qualms about slapping Espa's a** for the hell of it or telling a guy that he wants to ******** them just to get a rise out of everyone in the vicinty. He has little inhibition and very little restraint. He throws himself whole-heartedly into any venture whether it be a practical joke or a long-term commitment. Origins: Middle Avalana in the town near the Fire temple. History: Mick was born the raucious middle child of two quiet and kind parents, Ryan and Sarah Brightman. His parents owned a fine bookstore in town and their home was on the third floor of the store. Mick loved the bookstore and from an early age, showed an interest in reading. He loved adventure stories and stories about heroic knights who'd slay dragons and bravely battle evil sorcerers. His elder brother Conrad shared his interest somewhat and was able to direct Mick to the good books. Being a helpful sort, Mick would help out his parents in the store but tended to goof off a little bit more than he should. His father lost count of the number of times he plucked his seemingly insane middle child off the rolling ladders for the bookshelves. And if that wasn't bad enough, when Jack, the youngest brother, was born, Mick seemed to gain a cohort in crime. A quiet child by nature, Jack was easy to manipulate by his older brother and the two of them got into all sorts of trouble together. One day, a puppeteer came into town and put on a puppet show for the local kids. Mick was amazed by the skill of the puppetteer and the detail in the man's marionettes. After the show, Mick started to read up on puppetteering and started to make his own crude puppets. With time, his puppets got better, as did his puppetteering skills and he started putting on little shows for his parents and brothers. When he started school, he quickly became popular among the other children for his trickery and the fact that he was always goofing off. However, he could easily see the kind of people these kids were. At first he doubted it but it became more apparent when he made a new friend, Espa Aelethe-Monroe. When he met her, she was boasting to the other kids of an adventure she had where she frightened off a big bear. The only children that would listen were the younger ones because they were easily thralled by the outspoken, part-Elven girl with the eyepatch. He started to make a boast about a practical joke he'd pulled off on his elder brother that never happened when Espa spoke up and blew holes in his story with a few simple questions. Slightly embarrassed, he looked at her as the kids went away. He expected a sly retort from her but she merely smiled and extended her hand to him, asking him if he wanted to go on a real adventure. He readily agreed and from then on, they were inseperable. The other children did not like Espa at all and now that her and Mick were good friends, they started to turn their back on him. Mick didn't care though. He had found a fun and loyal friend who was worth more than all of them put together. He and Espa called themselves the "Wandering Duo" and together boasted of their adventures. Not long after, they added Saruo to their group. The poor kid was being picked on by the local bullies and Espa and Mick stepped in to make the fight fair. Mick was shocked at how low Saruo's self-esteem was and he and Espa made a joint effort to improve it. They asked him to go on an adventure with them and with what took little convincing, he agreed. After that, they became the Wandering Trio. When Rymfire was added to the circle of friends, it put a new spin on things. Rymfire was literally, a totally new element to their little group and that tended to throw things off. For one, he was a weirdo, and two, he was as secretive as Saruo. It took some time to open him up just like it did with Saruo but jokes and tricks could only go so far. Finally, a round of secret-sharing was done on one of their camp-outs which relaxed the friends and helped them forge an even stronger bond. Espa spoke of her Elven heritage, mental abilities, why she wears an eyepatch, and her "push-hands". Saruo could barely speak so Espa told them of the unwarranted violence his father had inflicted upon him constantly and Saruo later spoke up about his love of metal and proficiency with manipulating it. Espa also explained about Mick's illusions, slight of hand and his pranks. Then Rym told them about his tattooes, his heritage, everything about him and bared his soul with the rest of them. Mick then explained his birthmarks. "On my forehead, I have the waxing moon so that my knowledge will grow. On my throat, I have the full moon so that my voice will be strong and never waver from my illusion. On my left hand, I have the harvest moon so that I am warned of danger. On the right, the blue moon so that I have a second chance, always. On my chest, an eclipse so that my power may grow. The waning moon on my abdomen is so that I can control myself and ebb the tide, for every power needs a restraint. On my left foot, a new moon so that my power may be rejuvenated. On my right foot, I have a second eclipse," he explained calmly. Mick was very aware of his power and when Rym's eye blew out from a power surge a year later, he acted and tried to ebb the tide of flame but only incensed it further. When Espa managed to submerge Rym in the water trough outside the tavern they were drinking at, he helped hold the struggling and thrashing Rym underwater until his inner fire was subdued. Rym was in bed for weeks. The Fire priests had to redo all of the metal grafts in his skin and all the tattooes- which was as painful as when they first put them in. This time, they did the area around his scorched eye and put thin metal grafts with a carefully-laid spell around his left eye to prevent a flare-up from there. His friends were at his side the whole time and didn't go camping for a single week until he was better. Espa even made him an eyepatch like hers with an adjustable strap. For awhile, Saruo and Mick took to wearing eyepatches to make him feel better. "You know, that eyepatch makes you look sexy Rym!," said Mick feigning seriousness," I think I want to ******** you." Rym choked on his oatmeal and then tried to fend off Mick's joking advances. Espa pulled him off Rym and started scolding him. Saruo thumped Rym on the back and Rym smiled. Mick was glad that Rym was smiling again. When Espa made her announcement that she was going to leave home and truly wander for awhile, Mick didn't hesitate to accompany her as did Saruo and Rym. Of the three, he felt closest to Espa and wasn't about to let that adventurous young woman go. They had grown up together and had been friends for a decade. As they got older, he realized how much she meant to him, truly, and decided then and there that he would follow her to the ends of Gaia. Well, following her meant that he would become a member of Sibyll's Circle and one of her Blessed Rangers. He was surprised that Sibyll had already found his little brother and big brother and added them to her Circle. He had known since he was a little boy that he and his brothers had been blessed but by whom, they didn't know. He and his brothers formed a group of their own- the Celestial Triad. Conrad represented the sun, Mick the moon, and Jack represented the stars. It was a thrice in three billion blessing and the Brightman brothers were lucky to all have it. He still travels with Espa and his friends and they have gotten into the fur trade, which has turned out to be rather profitable. Mick usually puts on a small puppet show for the kids in whatever town he is in so that he can support his hobby. The others had their special abilities and weapons and such. Mick developed a way to use wire and clear filament in combat. Silky soft strands of metal that if pulled too tightly around something would slice right through it. They fitted in well with his illusions and trickery because he could string them anywhere and one anyone. He got the idea from toying with his puppets and accidentally ensnaring his finger. He soon developed a way to use the strings in combat and is developing his so-called 'combat-puppetry' constantly.

Username: nightingale Name: Nightingale Race: Human Age: She doesn't know for sure, but guesses herself to be in her late teens or early twenties. Height: 5'2" Weight: 115 lbs Title: Minstrel (though she prefers songstress, otherwise she imagines herself prancing around in a foppish, feathered hat with a lute in tow, baling on about forlorn love) Alignment: Dark Weapon: A six foot glaive and a small, concealed dagger Description: << a picture of Nightingale (in her performance costume) that I finished >> Gale's of an average height, perhaps on a bit of the short side. She's somewhat waifish with a slender, willowy build, but can generally hold her own in a fight. Her hair is black and wispy, just a little curly, the longer part of it gathered at the nape of her neck with a length of red cord. It falls loosely to below her waist, the fringes touching the back of her thighs. The front part of it is shorter and falls haphazardly around Gale's face. Her eyes are fairly dark as well, and in certain lights seem to have a crimson sheen to them, although it is a fleeting characteristic and the onlooker will wonder if it was ever even there in the first place. Her skin is fairly pale and sunburns easily, something Nightingale hates and goes out of her way to avoid. Her garb is what you'd expect of an entertainer-- a little on the showy side. Over a black, thin strapped chemise lays a silky, soft, crimson dress. It ends above her knees for ease of movement, and is shoulderless. A large bow cinches her waist and trails behind her, and she wears a pair of flexible thigh-high boots, specially made for her to be sturdy, steady, and showy at the same time. They're black and lace up the sides with crimson cording. A few silver bangles here and there add a little glint and sound, along with an elaborate beaded hairpiece that she only wears when she's working. Otherwise, Nightingale keeps the jewelry and other hindering aspects to a minimum. Between her shoulder blades is a small, black, winged tattoo. Personality: On the surface, Gale seems like a serene, composed, serious sort of person. In an unfamiliar situation or within a group of strangers, she is just that. She won't speak much but observes everything, carefully filing away bits of information for later use. Those who don't know her may be put off by her seemingly apathetic exterior. However, she is something different to her friends and to her audience. For the audience, she puts on her act of the lonely, poetic, tragic traveling minstrel. Or perhaps the lively, vivacious gypsy-esque girl. She takes on different personalities depending on how she feels the customers will react. To those that know Gale well, she is still somewhat of a quiet person. A little introspective sometimes, but still a girl who appreciates a bit of humour and a good sarcastic remark. She's quick to smile and maybe even laugh, especially when she's drunk, as she can't hold her liquor very well. She's not one to take a position of leadership unless she's forced into it. But whatever duty falls to her, Nightingale will carry it out dutifully. For the ones she cares about, Gale will risk everything. She's a loyal friend and a fierce protector. But she's slow to trust, so one often will feel the icy part of her until she is sure that you are trustworty. After that, she is an unwavering companion. A betrayal is devastating and leaves her confused and deeply wounded. History: Of her origins, Nightingale has no idea. Her earliest memory is that of opening her eyes to an intrusive, bright sun and finding herself strung up to a farmer's fence in a field of ripening wheat. Like a scarecrow. Panicking, she tried to recall her name, a face, anything to keep her from becoming hysterical. But she remembered nothing. At the time, in the middle of a desperate struggle against the fence, Nightingale discovered the first of her peculiarities. She was a shape shifter. A limited on, albeit, but it still saved her from exposure in the field. She had the ability to change her form into a small bird. A nightingale, to be precise. This is what she decided to call herself for lack of her real name. She easily slipped from the ropes that had previously held her tight and escaped. A limited shapeshifter. The only full form she could take was that of the nightingale bird. After time she developed techniques to do partial metamorphoses. Her favored form for theatrical purposes is to take the wings from the bird form only-- massive, black feathered things emanating from her back. She learned to control this form while in the care of a travelling troupe. They put her up as one of the main acts and christened her as the Dark Angel. Her stage name always made Gale laugh. If only the audience knew that she was not any part angel, and just defective bird. But business is business. The troupe flourished. Nightingale honed her innate musical predisposition, moving up the ranks to minstrel quickly. She also became decently good with the glaive. While she hadn't originally taken it up for actual martial purposes (at first just for performance feats), she found it very useful for discouraging roving bands of thieves from pillaging the troupe's wagons. However, all good things must come to an end, and Nightingale left the troupe one windy harvest day, to explore and maybe find something in regards to her past. All in all, she'd spent five years with the troupe, who saw the girl off with tears and gifts of food and coins, and a keepsake or two. She forever has a part of them with her in the form of her tattoo. To bring in more customers and to advertise their own fallen angel, the troupe had renamed themselves the Dark Wing Troupe. To celebrate, at the time all the members had gotten themselves marked. Now it was a pleasant reminder of people who cared about her. Not long into her travels, Nightingale ran into a certain lunar elf. He seemed as lost as she was on his own. The two agreed to travel together to the next town, but found themselves drawn into trial after trial, from sand dragons to fires to faeries. More than once they almost got themselves killed. They met new friends, were threatened by new enemies, and generally had a grand old time of fighting, healing injuries, and escaping by the skin of their teeth. Of course, he and she developed a close bond after all that and fell into an easy relationship as lovers. A new experience for them both, but the managed well enough and currently travel together now, looking for her past and his missing father. Name: Elisabeth Von Reculia Age: 27 Race: Human Gender: Female Height: 5' 7'' Weight: 120 Title: Mage of Light Alignment: Light Weapon(s): She carries upon her person only a staff and a few small daggers. As she usually isn't molested, due to having personal bodyguards and the like, she doesn't see much in the way having any reason for weapons on her person.
Origins: Western
Description: Elisabeth has long silver white hair that flowing down her backside, tho she is only 27. It is full and luxerious but it came from a grisily price, the cause of an magic experiment gone astray. Her eyes are a deep green which seem to hold too deep a sorrow for her age. Her features are soft and delicate which can often belie the determined glint her eyes gets when she wants her way about something.
Personality: Elisabeth is a quiet personality, but it is a quiet strength. She has known great pain as well as great joy. They never truly balance but she doesn't regret it, it only pushes her to do better. One day the scales will balance that she promises.
History: Elisabeth was born to a what could be be described as an impoverished noble family. Her father was an eccentric technomage who liked to combine technoclogy with magic but was rarely successful in his ventures. Her mother was a beautiful if shy young wealthy noble woman who fell in love with his genius. They were happily in love but ran through her inheirtence within a few years of Elisabeth's birth so were gently poverty striken until her grandmother promised to bring the child up. They agreed so lost in each other and her fathers inventions they barely even noticed she was gone.
She however had her father's penchant for magary tho she had no interest in technoclogy except as how it could be used to benefit her. So she dabbled in it, a spell for lighting a room going array and instead ended up infusing her body, making her hair turn into the silver shade it is to this day, she found out there was a side benefit to this and no longer had a need for a focus for her spells so all, tho she had lost her mother, father as well as her grandmother in the accident as she was trying to show them the spell. It almost destroyed her but she carried on no matter as she always had.
Elisabeth was presented at court and served as one of the ladies in waiting. She was 19 when an older man was brought before the court and publically disgraced. He was accused of slaughtering many innocents as well as the enemy. It would see only she could see the pain of loss within and when he was stripped down before the court and set out on the green field outside of the castle, she went to him and wrapped her own cloak around him and led his broken man back to her quarters, tending to his soul listening as he cried out his rage and sorrow.
Listening as he told her what he remembered tho it wasn't much. However she could sympathize and was angered at the world that would blame a wonderful man such as this for what he had done. In her innocence she had fallen in love with his quiet dignity as every thing was removed from him and she romantized him and comforted him in the only way sometimes it is possible.
He was aghast when he came to the following morning, he was after all 3 decades her senior and insisted on marriage. She was a ward of the court and they would never allow her to have anything to do with him. So he was rather astonished at her quiet acceptance once he realized all he had told her and asked her to elope with them. No matter what she did she was ruined anyways and she helped him get through the dark days ahead until he found focus with the idea of a rebellion.
She personally has nothing against the east but will fully support anything Alexander decides, her support to the group more stragetic and knowledge of the nobility and movemnts. No one outside of the rebellion even knows she is married and she has fended off the tries for alliances until she was finally considered an old maid. So she remains a good portion of the time at court gathering information for him, tho she has a lot more freedom than most ladies.

Name: Lupine Lenox Milliard Francisco Agiler Ton ache Billiard the 5th ( But you can call him Lupin) Age: 34 Race: Human Gender: Male Height: 5’6” Weight: 169 Title: Hobo Joe, Dirty Old Man, Pervert, Street urchin, anything else you call a perverted homeless person (ex Master Swordsman) Alignment: Fire Weapon(s): A walking stick and a retractable metal pole rapiers length Origins: Western Gaia. Description: The years have not been so kind to Lupin, but then no one else truly is. His hair is beginning to turn a gray away from his once black sheen. His forehead is starting to crease and wrinkle and facial comes from all over since he has no means of shaving. His hair is not combed and spread out all about his head. His clothes are a thrown away rug put over some old clothes he found in the dumpster once. His smile is a bit yellow but still has a pleasant feel to it. The only thing that had not changed where his eyes, an almond color that no one could ever forget. Personality: Lupin is a perfect Gentleman, when the women are watching. When they aren’t he’s a pervert and is always looking for some form of excitement. Whether it's a cheep thrill or exciting over night adventure running from the city dwellers. He enjoys his life despite his condition glad he no longer has to deal with his past. History: Lupin was nobility from the start, born with a golden (maybe even mythril) spoon in his mouth. Having one of the richest family’s of Gaia quickly made everything available to him, whatever he wanted was his. This made him grow up a bit spoiled but not completely for his odd fascination with blades kept him somewhat tolerable. From a small boy to adult he grew up always trying to master a blade of any kind, western eastern and even some of invention. Though he always favored the rapier he still continued to learn more about all other blades. If his attention from blades could not be diverted by women, he could have been possibly the greatest swordsman alive. Then again when he came of age his mind was changed from blades to women quickly. It was his weakness for women that put him in this position to begin with, up until his mid twenties he had been a wild child as some say. Breaking the hearts of many maidens always going from one to another no one ever seeming to tie him down. There was once when force was tried to detain him from leaving a woman, but guards could not stop him. He believed that’s how his life would be forever enjoying night to night until he got old and started a harem in the east, just like a sensible man would do. But those plans quickly came to halt when he met a woman he could not woo; it drove him mad and filled him with a new passion. He forgot all other women and thoughts of anything else other than this single woman who could resist him. She eventually opened up to him and they were wed, it was the happiest moments of his life. Three days later he was divorced and had all his money stripped from him. He barely had enough time to blink before he was out on the street as a homeless bum. He often wondered what went wrong and tried to return to previous women he had met. None would have him, it seems he was only like for his money. Or that they wouldn’t deal with a poor person no matter how great a lover he had been. Thoughts of revenge came back to his mind to return to his old life, but the more he thought about it the more funny it seemed to him. He had only been liked for the size of his wallet he thought himself to be invincible, when he was proved he wasn’t invincible he lost that wallet. He bowed his head and accepted his defeat believing the women earned her gold for such a great task of bringing a man such as him down. From there on he disappeared from the world and lived as a humble beggar scraping by as he could. Know he came by Labrum after years of homelessness hoping to see what exciting things and women he could see in this melting pot of a city. Previous RP's you’ve participated in: WoG Approved by:

Name: Elllisandra Nigeel Age: 26 Race: ElF (or at least as far as she’s concerned) Gender: Female Height: 5’8” Weight: 113 Title: Mage of Water (specializes in Freezing) Alignment: Water Weapon(s): A walking stick, small jugs of water she carries for emergencies Origins: Western Gaia Description: It is easy to tell this woman is elven by the ear’s that she has no fear of hiding. Her features are soft and delicate witch is a trait in most elvish women but her hair is cut and short. Hear teal hair barely makes it down to her shoulder a hair style that almost unheard of amongst elves. But she doesn’t care and it’s obvious that she doesn’t when all catch her sharp glare from her goldenrod eyes. She always has around her neck no matter what the circumstance a necklace that was given to her by her mother. It shines a bright gold and she believe is enchanted a bit. Though she does not know what it does she guesses it helps her concentration and leaves it at that. She usually seen wearing a custom tailored over coat she designed herself. ((I have no other words to describe that’s why the picture is there)) Personality: If seriousness had a personification it would be her. When she is given the task at hand she sees to it gets done. She can’t tolerate people who slack off or celebrate menial things; in fact she can’t really tolerate anyone. She despises all being that walk on two legs even her own heritage, but hates most of all Easterners. But her personality isn’t so simple even though she hates people she fears most of all to be alone, so this causes a conflict within herself to surround herself with the beings she hates most. History: Ellisandra was a poor misfortunate child from the begging, she grew up in run down town long ago abandon by most civilized folks. She lived in a town that was run by crooks and thieves and hideouts for murders. But that didn’t stop her from being somewhat happy, for although she was an elf and looked to upon with pity she had her mother and the spirits. Her mother and the water spirits around her were her only haven from the insanity that happened around her daily. When Elly’s mother found out about the spirits that kept her company Elly’s mother was overjoyed and glad her child hadn’t gone insane. She herself being a water mage helped teach her daughter how to use and communicate well with the spirits. Elly enjoyed the teaching and the stories of when her mother went to a school far away from where she lived. She never thought a place could exist and wanted to go so much but already knew enough of the world that she knew they could never pay to get there. The happiest day of Elly’s life was when her mother told her she was going to take her to the Water Temple to learn from real teachers. Elly wondered where the money came from but knew better than that so she never asked and just jumped with joy. The day she left the town she would always remember how happy she was to leave the place and never have to return to it again, but her happiness ended there in the horrid city. After a few days of trouble near the border between East and West, soldiers stop the wagon Elly had been riding in. They wouldn’t allow Elly mother pass and started to take whatever they wanted. When Elly mother tried to stop them they turned on her and attacked her tacking her to do whatever they wanted. Elly could only stand by and watch as her mother tried to hold them back with her magic but failed horribly. The horrors she saw that night and the many nights after that would haunt her forever and maybe even longer. Her memory goes blank from there since she refuses to ember anything from that part of her life, but she knew what happened. What happened to her mother and when they got bored with that, what happened to her. Her hatred for Easterner’s became a focus point in her life, her whole life surrounded around vengeance and she used it as a tool to hone her abilities. She never went toward the Water Tower in Eastern Land but studied else where in the westlands. She became a promising student always studying always trying to do better and not distracted by anything other than her goals. When she heard about Alexander and the Rebellion he was trying to put together she joined the ranks as fast as she could. Though she can tell he is distrustful of mages whatever the reason be, she follows along side him. Hoping by being near the top she could get her vengeance faster one way or the other. Bow down to the Klit, beyotch. (NPC) Name: Klit Age: 89 Race: Elf Gender: Male Height: 5'11'' Weight: 160 lbs. Title: City Guard Alignment: Spirit of Light Weapon(s): A military-issue halberd and a short sword. Both weapons are a bit more decorative than necessary, with silver scrolling and the crest of Laburnum set in numerous places, but, to be honest, a City Guard really doesn't get much use; more of a 'look out' kind of job. The polearm can either be slung across his back in a leather harness, or, as in most cases, Klit can just carry the damn thing. It's his job, after all. The elf has probably taken the sword out of its sheath, like, once; and that was when he dropped it while going to the bathroom. He was issued both weapons the day he finished boot camp, as well as his uniform, and has gotten little use out of any of the objects since. Origins: Laburnum Description: Klit is just your run-of-the-mill elf; nothing special or out-of-the-ordinary about him. He's the kind of guy your eye just slides right past, the perfect man for a guard job. He's not so tall, not so big, and not particularily bad looking, but not good looking either. His dusty brown hair is always cut short, so that it fits comfortably if he needs a helmet, and his eyes are a rather mundane shade of pale blue. Maybe in a world where elves, with their golden skin and pointed ears, were persecuted he'd be kind of abnormal, but not in Laburnum. He always rolls out in his uniform: a orange and white checkered tunic thrown over a highly polished suit of guilded chainmail, a short kilt of black and thick leather gloves and boots keeping him from looking rather... goony. A white bandana with a steel plate set in the front is bound about his head at all times- I guess he couldn't find a helmet that fit over his ears. Personality: Just like his appearance, it ain't anything special. Klit is amiable and warm, with a bit of a dutiful edge to him. He's like the security guard at your school that some people like, and some people hate; he's friendly, but kind of strict. He'll point you in the right direction with a smile and a nod, and smack you upside the head if you're being a wisenheimer. History: Klit needs to buy himself some fireworks or something, because, yet again, even this part is boring. He came from a middle-class Laburnum family of low social standing, but they were nice people whom were generally liked in the neighborhood. Klit, their eldest son, was sent to Laburnum boot camp when he turned 80, probably somewhere around late teens in human years, and finished it in under a year. He knows the ways of war and very basic tactics, and has a nice logical undertone, but he lacks experience. The elf has participated in roughly half a dozen skirmishes in his 'illustrious' military career, and he did quite well if he says so himself. He came from a semi-sheltered childhood and lacks very much real life experience, which is kind of why he joined the City Guards. He hoped it would be full of excitement and fun, but quickly discovered the highlight of his day was yelling out, "All clear!" every 15 minutes. Approved by: Josh

Name: Alair Julianne Mi'Rena
Age: 24
Alignment: Darkness
Race: Elf
Class: Archer/Temptress
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 110 lbs
Weapon: Khursah, an ebony colored bow of a very smooth wood. It is fairly compact, and the arches in the wood are large. It has two alexandrite crystals carved into talon-like shapes on each end. It is imbued with dark energy, and sends a trail of darkness behind each arrow. The arrows themselves are ordinary, but her strong dark influence makes them much more deadly.
Origin: Eastern Gaia
Appearance: Alair has stereotypical elven features, a long, slender body, with a graceful figure. She has long, slightly curly blonde hair that hangs down to her rear. Her ears are very strange, though, even for an elf. They extend much more outward than most ears, but do retain their length and pointy nature. Her eyes are a bright grey, with very crystalline qualities in her pupils. She wears a sable-colored gown that wraps around her form as shadows hug walls. It also has a long black shawl piece that attaches at her wrists, and hangs loose behind her, flowing and wrapping around her form to some extent. She usually wears only plain black sandals with them. Her traveling clothes are consist of a form fitting top that is grayish in color, with a black over coat style top that has slits in it, with large, puffy, and long sleeves. The top is attached to a short silver grey skirt by a black ribbon sash. She always wears long, black, silk gloves beneath her clothes, so as not to taint her hands by touching things. She has the body of a temptress, and never fails to use it.
Personality: Alair is an incredibly flirtatious woman. She is not flighty, and very calm, calculating, and cool. All of her actions are well thought out, though they may give a semblance of haphazard thinking. She is usually cold, and thus she has no regrets about doing what is best for her, but it has been said that in times of great need, she will defend the innocent, but few have lived to see those times and tell about it. She realizes how desirable she is, and uses this to her advantage, making her one of the most manipulative women on the planet. Also, she is a great actress, and can simulate almost any emotion or ideal: innocence, naïveté, anger, or anything else.
History: Alair was born in a temple dedicated to the Moon in a secluded part of Eastern Gaia. She was raised to be a guardian of sorts for the temple, and to preserve the power held there. Of course, she was born with an impure mind, and thought all through her childhood of how she could obtain that power. The power was tempting her; it knew what she wanted. Of course, at age 11, she crept into the Lunar Chamber, and saw the power. It had taken the form of a sparkling black orb. She reached out and touched it, and it embraced her, caressing her body in its power. She had been blessed by it, but she had made a sacrifice in the process. Alair could no longer resist her impulses. Like the moon, her mind and spirit had become variable beings: always changing, never permanent. This plagued her from each day afterward, and soon enough, everyone deduced that she had tried to obtain the power of the Moon. She was exiled for her sinful deed, as she was a tainted soul. She was forced to wander the eastern plains, barely an adolescent, and live on her own. Fortunately, a seer, who knew all of Alair’s secrets, consoled her, and took her in. She then tempted Alair with an idea. Why not take revenge on those who condemned her? The Moon Spirit was overjoyed. This idea, this concept, this plan: it would all redeem her. She could not help but desire the death of the all who worshipped the spirit that had cursed her. And with this, she focused her tainted soul into a weapon, one that would help her kill all who stood in her way. She was 22 before she even thought of how to kill off the Moon Tribe. She knew how much work it would take, and she knew she must seek allies in Kumori, The City Of Darkness. She had trained hard for all these years, and that would not be in vain. With that, she went toward the town, knowing that what she would find there would help her achieve her dreams, and maybe even heal her tainted spirit. Her powers revolve around shadows and the moon. Her bow is more like a medium through which she focuses her magical powers, though it is not required for her casting. As would be expected, her powers are greatest when in darkness, or in moonlight. She is quite skilled with her bow, but she is not the most masterful, and is much easier to dodge than they would be in the hands of a master sniper, so she usually forms arrows from her own magic, rather than using real arrows. The Moon Spirit instilled its magic into her, allowing her to use its light as a magical tool, and it is quite possibly a reflection of light magic, as the moon’s light is merely a reflection of sunlight. It serves many of the same purposes, but has a mind of its own, and how it affects the person upon who it is used varies from time to time. Alair has learned to control it fairly well, but sometimes it even escapes her grip. The lunar powers can harm people, burning them with its intensity. It tends to take the form of ribbons of light, shooting towards her enemies from her bow, though her free form magic usually lacks a definite shape, and simply engulfs any enemies. Her dark magic is mostly limited to deception and inducing emotions, rather than actual ability to harm. The shadows she summons are endowed with great influence, and she can “force” emotions on her enemies to fit her situation. Otherwise, they cause no physical harm.

Name: Korison Nerumik
Age: 27
Alignment: Air
Race: Human
Class: Archer (Crossbowman)
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 133 lbs.
Weapon: Zwarte Orkaan. It is a relatively small crossbow, with a complex feature that allows him to fire fast. This feature consists of mainly two revolving rods, which pulls the wings of the crossbow back, in that the string is strecthed backwards and curves around two pulley like metal rods that whip back and connect to the wings. The wings are then loose, which Koris pulls back the primary string, the one that actually fires the bolt, back, and hooks it on a latch. Then, when he fires the trigger, the bolt releases, along with the two strings, as the pulleys are drawn back into the crossbow, and the loading strings released. It trades power for speed. The crossbow itself is heavily stained, almost to the point of being black.
The rest: I don't know. I lost my application, and I'm hoping Sey has it. If not, I'll just retype the whole thing.

Name: Antoinette le Fontaine d’Aubigny, commonly called Anna.
Age: 23 years old
Gender: Female
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 180 lbs.
Title: Paladin; Knight-Templar, affiliated with Light
Weapon(s): A long sword with the d’Aubigny crest on the cross guard’s front, the crest of the Order of the Temple on the reverse. She also bears a two-handed broadsword, four feet in length, with the same devices on the cross guard. She carries a medium-sized shield, of white, with the red Templar cross on the front. She has burnished steel plate armor, and a warhorse by name of Noel; he stands 18 hands at the withers (6 feet), and weighs nearly a ton. He has a slate-gray coat that lightens near each hoof before blossoming out into white hair that covers the majority of his massive hooves. (Noel is what we modern folks would call a Clydesdale.)
Origin: The kingdom of Gaul in Avalana
Description: Anna is tall and broad-shouldered, her build firmly muscled from many hours of weapons training and her short tenure as a weapon smith in the Temple’s smithies. She is as strong as she looks, and can put most men her size to shame. Her face is squarish, features set in typical Gallic lines. Her nose is a touch too broad, her lips too thin. She doesn’t have much in the way of “womanly curves,” but she isn’t bothered by that. Neither overwhelmingly attractive nor ugly, there is a certain presence to Anna, especially when she smiles. She is for the most part light in complexion, but the outdoors have tanned her face, shoulders and arms to a moderate golden hue.
She keeps her naturally dirty-blonde hair short – it fits better under a helm that way – and it has a slight wave to it. She’s been some time without a cut, though, so it’s gone the way of shaggy, but doesn’t look too out of place on her, and it saves the style from being too boyish. Her eyes are a rich aqua in color, and seldom stare out into space. Anna wears an intent look a great deal of the time, quick to direct her attention to strange or new things. She walks with a purpose, as if she is always on her way to something important, and never idles or dallies.
Personality: Stoic and calm, Anna is unshakable. She remains cool and collected during any situation, from political intrigue to the violence of the battlefield. She never loses her temper, even when insulted or publicly humiliated; she rolls with every punch and acidic comment thrown her way. This is not to say that she’s apathetic; the basic training of the Templar schools them to remain outwardly calm, regardless the situation. Past her training, Anna contains all the fury of a tsunami; it is simply channeled properly and efficiently. She kills opponents with a ferocity that frightens those not of the Order, and she has no qualms against torturing enemies for information. She will not, however, ever commit violence on women or children, unless said individual is deserving of the violence.
Anna has a kind of honor that is very personalized, and often is not considered honor by others. She has very firm beliefs, and although the Order of the Temple does not agree with them all, they will not ostracize her for them. For all her quirks, she is a model Knight.
History: Child of Gallic nobles, Anna comes from a long line of Knights-Templar. Since the Order of the Temple was founded nearly a millennia ago, there had always been a d’Aubigny within the ranks. It was a matter of family honor that at least one child – preferably male – became a Knight-Templar. There was the occasional woman, a daughter or cousin who did not quite fit into the role of docile housekeeper, and Anna was one of these. Her father, Lord Yves Jean d’Aubigny, did not quite disallow his daughter to joining, but he had always had aspirations that his son, Luc, would carry on the family name. It was a shock, then, when young Luc demanded his inheritance, to apprentice himself to an Adept of Air. Lady Isabelle d’Aubigny, Anna and Luc’s mother, insisted her son be allowed his choice, as Yves’s other four sons – from previous marriages – were already Knights-Templar. Unable to deny his younger wife anything, he not only allowed Luc his apprenticeship, but Anna to join the ranks of the Order of the Temple.
Anna excelled as a Knight-aspirant, proving to her father that she was indeed fit for the Knighthood. Anna’s unusual height put her on a level playing field with her fellow aspirants – all male – and after a short term as a squire to a local baron, she was Knighted and was given tasks by the Order. In the three years since she had been Knighted, she has a reputation amongst her peers as being a role-model Knight, but is possessed of such a nature that she can also be a role-model for behavior to avoid. So insistent and independent, Anna had formed opinions and ideals outside of the domain of the Temple, and a great many of these were controversial. Fair play, for example, demanded that a Knight face his opponent fairly in both skill and arms; Anna has disregarded this a number of times, especially in an incident where a lady was targeted for assassination. Instead of calling the man out, Anna had waited for him to break into the lady’s chambers, and ran him through from behind. She accomplished her mission, to keep the lady alive, but in a manner not like the Knights.
Anna is often given missions guarding women, as is befitting chivalry, much to the dismay of many of the ladies who request Knights-Templar as bodyguards. She understands her unique position as one of the few Knights who cannot fall to the temptation of worldly court women, being a woman herself, and also as a woman truly competent at what she does.
On the Order of the Temple: Over a millennia ago, the Order of the Temple and its brother sect, the Order of the Hospital, were founded as a means of defense for the Temple of Light in Laburnum City. As formidable as the Light Mages were, they knew well enough that in order to survive, they needed defenders; and thus, the two Orders were born.
The more militant of the two, the Templars focused on weapon skills and codes of chivalry. The Hospitallers were more akin to priest-warriors, forgoing bladed weapons and heavy plate armor for bludgeoning weapons and chain. Templars are the paladins of the Orders, knights who fight for good and justice, and the Hospitallers are the clerics, aiding the sick and infirm, and if necessary, fighting the good fight.
Both Orders would eventually move from Laburnum City into the Avalanan side of Gaia; the culture of Avalana better suited the mentalities of the Orders. While the Templars became an elite cadre of knights, the Hospitallers became more monastic, sending missionaries to the wilder parts of Avalana to help the peasants.
The two Orders, once close-knit, have drifted apart over the centuries. The Templars consider the Hospitallers weak and pacifistic, whereas the Hospitallers call the Templars corrupt and avaricious. Each think their particular Order is truer to the old ways of the Temple of Light than the other, and both are too blinded to realize how far they have deviated from the original edicts of the Orders.

He has deep blue eyes like the ocean depths and pale pink lips like a rose. He has pale skin like the moonlight dappling off a pond's surface. His teeth are almost prefect, except for one canine, which is longer than the others. He wears black clothing as a base set and over them he wears thin leather pants and a leather vest, to protect him from arrows and other projectiles. For armour he wears padded leather if need be. He hardly ever wears it though, as it doesn't add much protection. He likes to be able to move fast and dislikes heavy restricting armour. To those he knows he is a loyal friend and would fight to the death to anyone he trusted. Name: Sacros Age: 2 Race: Demon Gender: Male Height: 5'11" Weight: 200lb Title: None Alignment: Darkness Weapon(s): A Long sword and Bow. Origins: Western Gaia Description: Sacros has pitch black hair, slicked back ending at the base of his head. His eyes are a crimson red like the colour of blood, matching the colour of his lips perfectly. He has white skin, giving a horrible appearance to those who see him. His body is covered in dark tattoos, all self made as a tribute to darkness. From his shoulder blades erupt a pair of black wings, wrapped around his body, although when stretched out have a wingspan of ten feet.
Sacros wears black clothes all over him, draped in any which way he likes. He usually has a pair of fingerless gloves which go up to his elbows and a sleeveless black top with a white symbol on it, once again a symbol of darkness. He wears a pair of black boots on his feet and a pair of black pants. Over his body he wears a cloak covering his entire body from view. He likes it that was as he hates people seeing him and the way he looks. It is one of the things he holds against people, the stares he gets. Personality: Sacros is evil and twisted in everyway. He seeks enjoyment in watching others in pain and cutting himself up. He seems to have a never ending happiness in watching blood flow freely from a body, or cutting bodies up to create shapes. He sees himself as the essence of evil. History: Sacros was created from dark magic two years ago in the dark temple. He was inexperienced at the time of his creation and at his weakest. Although he was weak he still managed to kill the powerful mage that made him. He killed the mage as he was rejoicing and off guard. No one knew of his creation and by the time they found him all that was left of the mage was blood smeared on the wall and chunks scattered around the large room.
He was taken in by the temple and shown a way of darkness, further twisting his mind from its already crazy form. He was taught darkness from the beginning, his skill at it was innate. As his teachings continued some had second thoughts about his continuation. His hunger for violence and pain became clear as he was always capturing little animals and maiming them in some way, or killing them. His teachers continued however teaching him all they knew. Eventually the demon was adept in magic, as well as the arts of fighting.
He left the temple a year after his creation to travel. No one knows what happened to him in that year, although word reached the temple that a dark sage had been found traveling, committing murders and rape. The authorities could never catch him however as he was fast and a cunning swordsman and mage. He now seeks ultimate power, his searching leading him to powerful artifacts of darkness.

Name: Yukiko (Noriamatsu) Kaikou
Age: 38
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Height: 5"5'
Weight: 124 lbs.
Blood Type: O+
Title: High Priestess of Light
Alignment: The Light Elemental Spirit
Weapon(s): Yukiko carries no weapon on her person at any time. Her superb magical prowess is enough to defend herself and those close to her. Despite her need of weapons for defense, Yukiko is a student of Kyudo (Archery). Her Yumi (bow) is approximately 2.3 meters long and is crafted with bamboo from her native province. The string is crafted of silk and pine resin and each of her arrows have been carefully crafted out of bamboo and bird feather.
Because her duties as High Priestess of Light require her to spend a lengthy amount of time in quiet contemplation with the spirits, seeking their guidance for the good of her country she has mastered the basic skills of Kyudo and is only learning the finer points of technique as of now. However, because of her rank as High Priestess it is quite easy for her to imbue her arrows with holy energy in order to effectively cause more damage to her opponents.
Origins: Eastern Gaia, Higashi Province
Description: Lithe, graceful and pale, Yukiko Kaikou is the epitome of the ideal woman of Jiyoukai. Relatively tall for an Easterner at 5 feet 5 inches, she sticks out from the crowd of women that frequent the Koukyo and has long arms for a more efficient bow grip. Always found in light and airy white robes, Yukiko has a certain air about her which soothes those who are around her.
A distant cousin of Takiyagami Kaikou, Yukiko retained the genetics for her children?s grey eyes ? her own brown iris? having flecks of grey near the pupils. Her hair is glossy and black and already slightly fading grey with stress. The majority of the time when people see her, she is dressed in utilitarian white robes and no jewels aside from the small jeweled necklace she had received from her husband.
Personality: Loving and understanding towards both her family and her people, Yukiko was the first choice as the future Shogun?s betrothed. Growing up in the mountains of Higashi and learning to take care of herself and her current and future family, Yukiko has a quiet yet arresting aura. Not one to express her opinion unless she believed that it would help the ideal of the Light Elemental, the magess only briefly spoke to those outside her direct family and close friends; but when she did they were words to be listened to. Extremely loving towards her family and is often over protective and doting over her children, Yukiko juggles the responsibilities of the High Priestess of Light, the Shogun?s wife and mother of his heirs with the supreme control of a well bred mother.
History: Born during the cold winter months in the high mountains of the Higashi province as Yukiko Noriamatsu, Yuki, as her husband and close friends sometimes call her, had little time for childhood. Born during the worst years of one of the most turbulent wars that Gaia had seen, she lost her father and one of her older brother?s before she had turned 10. The war ended with a shaky truce and slight territorial changes in the plains during the summer of the year she was to turn 15. Her mother ran the family estate under her late father?s name and was adamant in ensuring that her daughter would have nothing less than the best that she could achieve. Having been through the traditional schooling of a daimyo?s child, Yukiko was half child and half woman? And prime to be married.
Like a traditional arranged marriage, her mother had met with the most honorable Kaikou family at one of their social festivals at the Kokyou. Yukiko, 14 and not wanting to do much more than play pranks with light spirits and be herself was quietly lead to a room in which held her mother and future family of whom she was a distant cousin to. Takiyagami Kaikou, Eldest son of Mamoru and Maiyuko Kaikou towered over her small frame and gave her a small nod. Kneeling on the ground and lowering her head, mumbling formalities and greetings to the imperial family, Yukiko felt a tap on her head and looked up. Taki, of which she was later to nickname him, held out his hand and laughed at her as he told her to stand up. His brown eyes were smiling and long black hair tied up in a bun at the back of his head. Blushing and standing up with a smile, Yukiko accepted his hand and listened to his parents, her future parents, talk to the both of them.
That was the extent of their courtship.
They married 4 years later and all the while, Yukiko had slowly risen up in the ranks of the Light Magi as though the blood that was shared between her and Taki had flared into its full magical potential. The results of their marriage were the three heirs to the Kaikou Shogunate: Yuuki, Hikaru and Sey who are currently 20, 16 and 12.
Devoting her life to her family and to her country, Yukiko Noriamatsu currently travels across Gaia promoting good will and working towards a stronger peace between the Jiyoukai and Avalana.

Name: Gaven Uricen
Age: 22
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 6' 7"
Weight: 257 lbs.
Class: Knight
Alignment: Earth
Weapons: A double-sided axe, one side perfectly sharpened while the other has a series of notches along the blade. He uses the notched side as a snag, sword breaker, and bludgeon when he wishes to only disarm or disable his opponent. It is a two handed weapon that he hangs from his belt. His other weapon is a claymore(think Braveheart) he keeps strapped to his back.
Origins: Western Gaia
Description: A large and somewhat intimidating figure, Gaven is darkly tanned from years under the sun and has earthly brown eyes. He shaves his bald and sports a dark brown beard. His clothing consists of a mixture of furs, leather, and metal. A light weight chain male shirt overtop a buckskin sleeveless top and leather pads. He wears leather pants and very large brown boots. During rains and heavy winds he even sports a cap made from a wolf's head.
Personality: He's bit rough on the edges, rather course, but friendly if he's shown respect and treated kindly. He enjoys the challenge of a good opponent and is respectful in combat when it is called for. His only weakness of character would be his temper when insulted or humilated for no good reason.
History: Born of the Germanic Barbarians, he was the son of a warrior. He was taught to respect strength and power in his childhood. At the age of 12 he witnessed his father's defeat at the hands of a knight from a band of men on a quest. The knight spared his father and this sign of generosity stunned Gaven.
He was intrigued by the knight's ideas of honor and chivalry. Men who had power and strength but used it selflessly? With permission he left his home to become a pupil in the ways of the knights. His blood gave him his size and strength, something that few men can match normally. But he also retained a barbarian's temper, something he had to learn to control lest he be disgraced.
His size also convinced many people he was unbelievably stupid and they were almost right. His ability to read is equal to a child's and so he refrains from reading quite often to avoid the embarassment. His skills in the areas of finess are also lacking but these are the few things he fails in.
He eventually left to travel on his own when he became 20, and has roamed the land, adherring to the Code of the Knights.
The axe he wields was a gift from his father, he modified it slightly in a stroke of ingenuity. The sword is another matter, he won that in a fight against a Scottsman. Both had had more then their fair share of liquor so it was hard to determine who or what caused the fight. Somewhere in the fight the Scottsman got the idea to use his claymore like a javelin and hurled the more than four foot long blade of steel at Gaven. The idea nearly worked when it almost impaled him, instead he recieved a large cut across his chest. Finally Gaven took the blunted side of his axe and struck the Scottman so hard he soared clear across the room. He claimed the claymore as his victory prize the next day after his hangover.
