With her head buried deep within the folds of Shin's jacket, Hanabira could only tell that they reached the village now since Shin's walking had become more steady and smooth. She was afraid to lift her head and make eye contact with anyone familiar in the village. They probably knew who she was by the light brown hair, the jacket and the pale skin, but Hanabira just couldn't stand to make eye contact with anyone. She knew that they would look at her with saddened eyes, sending sympathy her way. Hanabira was really tired of feeling so vulnerable and useless. She had trained hard by studying the techniques of the academy and sharpening other skills that other shinobi's wouldn't think of that she had really forgotten to focus on the true areas of being a kunoichi. Hanabira was by no means agile or strong and she still had the endurance of a first year student. Thinking about these things made Hanabira want to cry, but then she heard Shin say something about a sports festival. Shaking her head against his back, she gave him her answer without saying a word.

Shin felt as if he was utterly failing at trying to cheer Hanabira up this time around. The first time that they met, Shin had no problem cheering her up and taking her to the festival. He really needed to get his mind together and think about what would really cheer her up. It was the late afternoon, so everyone was probably gathering at the playground to play some kickball, as Shin had heard and read through flyers that had been posted through out the village. He knew that Hanabira wouldn't be too fond of playing kickball, especially with her ankle and knee in the condition they were in. He tried to think what was after the kickball game and all the sproting events. He knew that the village was doing something later tonight. "Dinner!" Shin said outloud as he remember what was going on. "Hey, how about we go to the fesvital's dinner together, Hana-chan?" Shin asked the girl in a very indirect way, so it didn't sound like he was asking her her out on a date. He would like to do take the girl out on a small date, but they were still too young for that type of romance! "I promise to get cleaned up. I bet I smell horrible," Shin said with a smile on his face, knowing that Hanabira was probably fighting off the strong scent of young man sweat.

As they walked, Hanabira could hear the sounds of children and the rusty creaks of metal and chains. It was clear to her that they were near the playground now, on their way to the village center where the Yamanaka shop was. The girl almost raised her head when Shin said dinner as if it were ready and being served. "Mm..." Hanabira hummed as she really thought about it. If she went to dinner now, everyone would notice her hurt ankle and ask her what had happened. Hanabira could never lie to her friends. The tears were threatening to come back as she thought about the embarrassment that Tanu would spread about her being scared. Hanabira really didn't feel like she could face anyone at this moment. She didn't give Shin a yes or a no, but just a hum to let him know that she was thinking about it. If Shin really wanted Hanabira to go, he would have to convince her a bit more than he was. Indeed, he was smelly, but she was glad that he would get cleaned up and hopefully shower.

Shifting his arms around, he felt them finally begin to tire as he held Hanabira up. The girl was rather light and all, but he was still getting worn down from carrying her around so much. "I think a nice dinner would cheer you up, Hana-chan! And we can say you twisted your ankle while sparring against me, eh?" Shin asked the girl as if he was hearing her thoughts out loud. It seemed like every festival, Hanabira got hurt or was in the hospital. Shin had a feeling that she really didn't want to be out and around in public hurt yet again. "Or we could stay at your house and I'll make you some fancy ramen," Shin offered with a bit of a chuckle since he wasn't all too good at cooking. The instant noodles that already came in their bowl was the extent of his cooking expertise. He hadn't known that Hanabira was a good chef, but hopefully he would find out one day.
"I could try to make some rice balls too, if you'd like.... I can't guarentee how well they'd stick togther though. Never been real good at making sticky rice," Shin said a little nervously as he beat himself up in front of the girl. He tried to sound as sincere and cheerful as possible for Hanabira since he was worried about her crying again. She had been a little talkative for a moment, but now she was going back into silence. The sight of her puffy red eyes just wasn't what he wanted to see again.

Shin was starting to believe that Hanabira didn't want him around that much. The other day when he had stopped by her house, she hadn't even come down to welcome him or say hello. He had spent the evening with Kane and their mother. Shin didn't mind Kane's company since he was a really nice guy, but Shin had come to see Hanabira. The boy's throat grew as dry as a desert as he thought about what he was just about to ask Hanabira. "Hana-chan," he started, but then paused slightly since he wasn't too sure how to continue. "Do you like having me around?" he asked, not really sure how to phrase the question, but hoping that she would understand how he felt and the discomfort he was in. Shin didn't always see the whole picture, but he didn't feel comfortable assuming what the entire picture looked like without being told what was behind the curtain or in the missing pieces...

Hanabira was silent as Shin continued to name off all the things that they could do together. They all sounded wonderful and Hanabira would've loved to do them all with Shin, but she was just so sad and embarrassed by her own actions. The freckle faced girl just couldn't bare to be around anyone right now, except Kane-nii. She kept her face buried in Shin's jacket and didn't say a word to the things he suggested. A smile grazed her lips as she thought about him making up a false story... The tall boy that was carrying her spoke again, but in a very different tone. Hanabira could tell that he was uncomfortable and she felt that his uneasiness was a direct result of her shy behavior. "N-no," she stuttered, lifting up her head for a moment. She didn't mean 'no' to his question, but she was just upset that the closest friend she had felt unwanted. "Shin-san... I really want you around," the soft voice spoke as the small hands gripped tightly onto Shin's jacket, releasing themselves from their hooked position to do so. "I'm..." Hanabira started, but then felt the tears coming back and buried her head back in Shin's jacket. She couldn't admit to Shin that she was shy, nervous and scared. It was easy to see that she was all those things with just a glance at her! Hanabira just couldn't admit it out loud. She could write it down, she could think it, but she couldn't admit it to someone else. The girl was trying so hard by studying and training...
Hanabira began to climb down from Shin's back since they were at the flower shop that Hanabira called home. "I wanna go with you," Hanabira said shyly as she stared at the ground as if she were a little puppy that had done something bad. Putting all her weight on one leg, she put her hands behind her back. "You're my only friend, Shin," she said quietly as she began to open the door to her home. "I'll see you later," she said before limping inside and shutting the door behind her.

((For the sake of simplicity, I'll post here without actually being here. So she's wandering around the village until the training is complete))
There was no distinguishable fragrance in the air. Eri had to get a fair distance away from the farm and the smell of all the warm food floating through the cold air before she could properly use her nose, but she still couldn't pick up anything. Without any wind, there was no discernible direction to follow, although any kind of wind would most likely drop the temperature at least 10 degrees. Even so, she didn't feel lost. She could stop and ask any of the villagers if she felt she needed to, but she was reluctant to speak up until she had given up. She tried her best not to cross the same path more than once or look worried. The last thing she wanted was some adult imposing 'good will' upon her by trying to help. She disliked good Samaritans simply because of their imposing nature. If she wanted help, she'd ask for it, she didn't need some meddling person to interfere as if she couldn't do anything on her own.
Arriving back at the training grounds, she grew slightly concerned that the area looked as though it had been evacuated. She could tell that a few people were just leaving, but following them wouldn't lead her where she wanted. Uncurling her arms to let them stretch and then rest from their tight grip around her toy, the girl made a somewhat dramatic stomp of her foot. Wasn't that red-eyed boy suppose to teach her a jutsu? If he wasn't so busy fighting, she wouldn't have needed to follow that adult and wouldn't be in this situation. That's it, seeing that man die was all HIS fault. She was definitely going to give that blood-eyed boy a piece of her mind the next time they met... well, maybe she'd just make him feel guilty. It was still too early in her occupancy on this island to start trouble. All she needed was to make her side trip into the saddest story she possibly could...

"This way~" Eri called out with a mild tone, snuggling her toy to her chest as she had done before. Her mood having completely returned to normal, she skipped along the grounds while she searched for a path. She halted her pace and attempted to look down at her boots. She had only now realized that she hurt her ankle earlier when she was confronted by that woman at the farm. It seemed much better now, but there was still an annoying detail. She kicked the ground with the tip of her right boot a few times. The ground was hard, but it wasn't making a proper thumping sound when she stepped down. Another thing she hadn't thought about until now, she preferred the rhythm of her boots against a man-made road. It made it so much easier to keep the beat in her head.
Letting her head droop as she side, she continued on toward what she quickly realized was the center of the village. The fountain made it easy to tell, as well as the many paths leading in and out. It was a common construction in most villages. Now that she knew where she was... which way was she suppose to go? She wondered why someone didn't construct some type of large vertical map of the area, maybe with a tiny dot labeled 'You are here". Not wanting to stand in one place with so many people around, Eri decided not to fret over minor details and stayed on the coarse she had already taken. It was still early in the day so there was no hurry to get where she wanted. Taking a walk was always a pleasant idea, and if she was exploring rather than wandering, there wasn't any risk of looking like a fool.

A feeling of being out of place started to stiffen her muscles, Eri was forced to a stop. It was the smell of something familiar that gave her the sudden sensation that she should turn back. What was that? She knew that scent from recently, but it wasn't food. Too curious to let her intuition take control of her, Eri continued down the path, although a little more cautiously. A normal stroll rather than her usual skip, she soon spotted the sand laying out across the ground ahead of her. That scent must have been the ocean air. Traveling to the island was her first real experience with this type of smell, so it was hard to pick it from her memory, especially since there was no wind to carry it so that it would be stronger, although a breeze in the opposite direction would been the same as no wind, only colder. She grunted weakly into the head of her plush dog and turned on her left heal, almost walking in her exact footsteps on her way back to the fountain.
Earlier she had made up her mind to explore, so the thought of walking into an area she had already seen was frustrating. Her heart growing heavier with each step to her original spot, Eri turned her head toward her shadow. The sun was moving west so... shadow is east. Keeping the basic idea in her head, she determined that she had already gone South and East. She had heard a commotion from what appeared to be a playground, most likely where all the people from the training grounds went, but that location was of no concern to her. The best place to go was to avoid that troublesome adult, so West was her proper choice.

This place was hard to miss. Eri walked up to the clinic, a dumbfounded stare in her eyes as she lifted her head. This was a clinic? For such a small island to have this large a facility for the sick and injured, the people here must be attacked by some force on a regular basis. Not wanting to consider whether having such a large clinic was a blessing or a bad omen, Eri didn't let her admiration slow her pace toward the door. This place might have a proper assortment of flowers. However, the same thought that brought her hand to the door quickly pulled it away. If there were flowers in here for a similar purpose, then they were already in use. Her hand edged toward the door again with the next idea. It wasn't as though she knew what type of flowers were customary for her task, still...
Finally letting her hand tuck into her opposite arm around the toy dog, the temptress let her head slink backward with a sigh, turning when her eyes faced forward again. She didn't need a specific kind of flowers, just something soothing to the eye. Her best bet was just to find the housing area. Some resident was bound to be keeping flowers even in the winter.

The boy felt a sort of guild as Hanabira told him that he was her only friend as he stood out the Yamanaka residence. He stood there a moment trying to think of what to think! But all he could think of was how dumb he had been and how sad Hanabira had sounded as she shut the door behind her. "Gah!" Shin said in frustration as he scratched the side of his head as if to itch at the feeling of guilt and stupidity. He turned around with his head to the ground and began making his way back to his dorm room to get cleaned up and ready for the night. What could he do to make Hanabira feel better? He obviously didn't know the girl that well, because on their way back from the forest, there was nothing that Shin could say to cheer her up. "Ha," Shin sighed as he looked up at the afternoon sky, trying to think of an apology or something! This shy little girl had his heart in a tangle and he wasn't quite sure what to do...

Wha-wha-what?!? The force at which Eri came to a stop could have stopped the Earth itself and sent every movable object upon the planet hurling through the air for miles. She almost went pale from the realization; this island had a flower shop?! To think, all her searching around for flowers, and a place like this existed?!? If her sense of smell had been just a little better... and she had nearly walked by it! The girl started to grind her teeth while digging her nails into her dog. She lifted the plush up and turned to stare it in its glass eyes, her arms starting to shake with rage.
"Why didn't you tell me this was here?!? GAH!" Stomping her right foot in futility, she returned the dog to its position on her chest and marched up to the door. The only thing that stopped her from banging on the door was realizing people might actually be inside. Business would be light because of the weather, but what kind of person would the shop owner be? Most likely some meddling adult. She didn't need anyone questioning her about what she needed the flowers for, but still, she had to present herself properly. Clearing her throat, she stepped up to the door, both feet planted together, with her posture as straight as possible. She looked both ways to see if there were any windows where she could peek inside, but she didn't want to appear to be a snoop.
"Hel-lo there~" Eri called out joyfully, knocking on the door with each syllable in a decrescendo both in voice and in rhythm. She then started to count to ten in her head. After ten seconds, it probably wouldn't be read to attempt to open the door and investigate the interior for signs of life.

Hanabira had just finished taking off her shoes when she heard a voice call inside to the shop. It was a little odd that someone would be at the flower shop on a festival day. Most shops were closed when there was a celebration... Putting her small pale hands up against the wall, Hanabira limped towards the door. She opened it slightly at first to take a quick look at who was standing outside. Hanabira was shocked to see a little girl with a stuffed puppy plush standing outside her door. She was definitely not an islander that worked her on a regular basis since her blond curls immediately jumped out at Hanabira along with her very ivory skin. Hanabira was quiet for a moment, but then chocked on her words as she realized that she was rudely staring. "Uhm- Can I help you?" Hanabira asked the girl a little shyly as she kept the door only a foot open.

Tanu walked with determination through the village as everyone began to spread out from the kickball area for the festival. With Kazuma close behind, Tanu was feeling pretty confident. She and her cousin had just had a confrontation that changed her views of how the Kun 'Kumo clan was being represented here in Shimagakure. Even if it was a low-life village in her eyes, Tanu did not want her clan's name to be scorned upon anywhere. As she moved through the streets, Tanu came to the village center where she could spot the hard to miss Yamanaka Hanaya. Immediately her green and red eyes picked out someone standing in front of the door and Hanabira peeking out through a crack in the door. "Hey!" Tanu yelled, not at Hanabira, but the lone girl standing in front of the Hanaya. The girl looked almost as weak as Hanabira, if not weaker with her stupid little plush toy. Tanu didn't really have time to let Hanabira do as she wished and converse with this girl, so Tanu just assumed that the girl was causing Hanabira problems. Reaching out to the girl with the blond hair, Tanu's grubby little hand grabbed at the stuffed toy. "Get lost," Tanu said to the little girl, who was probably the same age as the mean Kun 'Kumo, but Tanu knew that age had nothing to do with superiority. As she took the little toy, the bully tossed it to the side on the ground, so the little girl would be forced to move away from the door for Tanu to get close to it. She only knew that Hanabira would slam it shut the moment the blond moved.

((It would be a miracle if this roll actually worked, but it's funnier when it fails twisted ))
Waa, she's so pretty! Eri's entire body stiffened and she nearly flinched backward when she saw Hana peek through the door. Her cheeks started to turn red from the shock, having expected someone at least a little older to open the door. Her face glowing uncontrollably, she sank her chin behind her toy dog so that just her nose rested over its head. To think someone on this clump of dirt could actually rival her beauty... rival...
All of Eri's admiration quickly turned to jealousy. Her eyes squinted just a little after Hana had spoken. This girl... couldn't be as pretty as her, could she? How could she taken control of this island if there was someone else around with such a natural talent? The smile that she had tried to hide had quickly turned to a sneer, although difficult to see with the toy blocking the expression. This girl was a threat, but how should she deal with her...?
"U-um... my name is P-princess..." Although the enchantress usually stuttered intentionally to appear more innocent, this uncontrollable clog in her throat brought on by the mix of feelings prevented her from thinking, "a-and this is Bear-chan." She held the dog out, as if fully expecting Hana to greet the creature as if it were a regular person or it would hurt her/its feelings. Once she pulled it back, she squeezed her eyes closed and started to chew on the back of the toy's head. Now was the best time to tell the story she had planned to guilt Sukotto into teaching her the jutsu he was most likely teaching to some other undeserving student.
"I'm sorry. I... I was wandering around, and..." Eri's eyes started to glisten as if she was about to cry. Of course, this was all rehearsed both in her mind and similarly several times in the mirror back home, "... there was..." she buried her head behind the toy and started to breath erratically as if she were crying, "... this man died. Please, I just want to put some flowers next to his body. Can you help me?" She was unable to look up, but this was only to prevent Hana from realizing she wasn't actually crying. If she could simply convince this girl to help her, she might be able to keep going without needing to reveal her face until she left.
Eri Attack #4 (For Hana) The Eri Weep! Eri begins by timidly approaching her target with a sad story, pretending that the event was so traumatizing that she can't continue without crying. By hiding her face, she acts as though she is crying to further manipulate the victim. 1d20 + Seduce(3) +Char(3) =22
