Watch flew in for one last time. He had flown to drop off his findings three or four times previously, but he hadn't met up with Letter during that time. At first, he had thought that she had just up and left, but then he noticed the growing pile of nesting material. Finally, he met Letter as they both finished their duties. Watch was surprised at first, but that quickly gave way to relief.
"Thank you..." Watch told Letter. "You've been a fantastic help." Watch stood awkwardly for a while, then continued, "Well, now the making of the nest is all that's left, right? Well, if you'd like, we can eat first... In case you're hungry..." Watch paused again. Why was this so hard?? Watch struggled to pull himself together. "I..." Watch began. He looked into Letter's eyes for a moment, then hastily broke away. "I... I think..." Watch's sentence died in his beak. After a sudden burst of courage, Watch exclaimed, "I think that you look beau--" Watch cut himself off, feathers flattened in embarrassment. He mumbled quietly, "You look very nice."
At that moment, a new storm kicked up its heels. The second one would surely be worse than the first, and longer. Rain poured and wind howled, but the birds in the hollow remained dry. After a slow gaze out of the hollow Watch's heart gave an elated thump. Letter couldn't leave in that kind of weather!

Letter's heart suddenly gave a huge leap and seemed to slightly drop its heavy weight. Did, Watch just say? Was this real and not just some silly fantasy... But according to Letter's hearing Watch had just said if not somewhat extremely nervously that he thought she looked nice. Did he feel the same way...? Letter decided it was now or never. It was always worth a try, and if she failed then she could live with it off her chest, it was just a matter of getting it out and taking the what seemed in her eyes to be an amazingly huge risk. She took a deep breath in to stop her head from swimming. All of these feelings were so new to her. The excitement, the sickly worry, the light heart flying, a fascination in another pidge and something, just something she could not place her feather tips on. "Watch... I, I think that. I think that honestly in all truth that you're one of the most charmin', clever, calming, considerate and 'andsome pidge I've ever met. I, I know I'm not well spoken an' all, and I'm a bit of a frumpy slate. Also I'm in Big Ma's flock. But yer know, if I hadn't met you... Well, I don't know. Life would just be driftin' on as normal, but now I'm here with yer, it seems to fly. I suppose, I suppose I just wanted to say." She said, feeling more nervous, exposed and embarrassed than she ever had done in her life. "I wanted to say that I am so happy that I've met yer. Yer one of the most special guys I've ever met. I'm sorry if I've made yer uncomfortable now, and if yer really don't feel the same way." She gazed up slowly and nervously into Watch's eyes to see his reaction. She knew she may have just thrown everything away, that Watch may be too uncomfortable to sit and with her again, but she had to say something. She couldn't live with that stirring inside her. It was so hard...

Watch's beak dropped open, trying to think of a reply. His head was spinning. They had just met, but... Watch really did feel the same way... "Letter," Watch began, beginning to feel a little more relaxed. "I feel the same way..." He took a deep breath. "You are beautiful, thoughtful, kind, smart, and such a charming bird... It doesn't matter to me that you're in a flock, as long as it doesn't matter to you that I am without one. I... I would like it if you would stay with me... I-I mean, I don't think that I could live without you, now that I've met you... And, if you can't stay with me, please... Please promise me that you'll come back." Watch's face turned serious, imploring. "Please don't leave me," he finished.
Feeling awkward, Watch took a hesitant step closer to Letter, wanting to preen her. She was just too beautiful. Dazzled in her light, Watch could only stand. There was a feather's width of distance between them. Watch looked out of the hollow, finally forcing himself to tear his eyes away from the goddess before him. The storm still came down hard, but Watch could not hear it, nor feel its cold. It was very warm, almost uncomfortable so, but not quite. He thought that he could already see a rainbow forming between the thick, black clouds. Watch's gaze returned to Letter. "Will you come and see me again?" he asked.
(( Maybe these two were meant for each other or something, but I think that things are going a tad bit fast. We should backtrack a while, add some more RPs, and finally get to... the confessions!! *cackles* This is too much fun... ))

(I know what you mean Ren it is a little fast here XD And I definitely think that would be a great idea, you just have to add me to your friends because otherwise I can't reply to your PM.)
Letter had to take a deep breath in, she was feeling dizzy again, but in the most blissful way. She was absolutely stunned. She never would have thought she would have received that reaction, from such a handsome pidge who was gracing her with this affection. She could almost faint with relief or elation of having not made things worse, but she did not or her time with Watch would have been shortened. "Flocks can't keep us apart. I promise." Said Letter looking into Watch's soft eyes, framed by the stunning markings around his beautifully feathered face. She shuffled a tiny bit closer towards Watch, their feather tips now just touching, grays mixed with browns. "I promise I will come see yer again. Always." She said quietly and with much hesitation, not wanting to turn away from Watch, looked towards all of the rainbow's colours fighting off the darkness of the clouds. She knew from that point onwards, no matter what fate that would befall her, be it good or bad, she would remember this moment, and she would remember Watch. It was as if the memory had been carved into her heart without any pain but simply bliss of the time spent together.

(( Whoops! I completely forgot about that! *facepalms* ))
Watch's entire body seemed to give a sigh of relief. He fluffed his feathers and slowly closed his eyes, very conscious of Letter just beside him. It made his a little embarrassed, but he did not pull away. Letter seemed so special... Watch needed her to be just there. The male pidge radiated his quiet delight; Letter being just that close made his heart jump against his rib cage as if it were trying to escape.
Despite all this, he could easily see obstacles in the future. Watch himself did not want to leave his secluded home. It meant too much to him. Watch could not join a flock. But it would be too much to ask to have Letter leave her flock... Life without one was rough. Watch now was confident of Letter's skills and her ability to take care of herself, but she could still miss the leisure time and safety of a flock. It didn't help that the flock was so far from Watch's home. On top of all that, how would Letter's peers and flock leader feel about her visiting a flockless bird like Watch? And worse... What if another male approached Letter within her flock? Watch shuddered inwardly at the thought. If that happened, he would not be there to put the cocky male in his place.
Watch took these thoughts and tossed them in the far corner of his mind. The troublesome ideas could wait for later; right now, Watch would bask in happiness and the small victory of having found the perfect one.
... She may be the perfect one for you, but will she feel the same way in a few days? A week? A month? She may get bored of you... Shut up, Watch thought to his own thoughts.
And that was the end to any clear thinking for Watch that night. The rest was pleasantly blurred, filled mostly of pictures of Letter at his side, and the gradually easing storm.
((The end?))

(Don't worry Ren ^^ Yep, I suppose you can say almost exactly the same for Letter with those thoughts and feelings smile By the way I think they re-built the nest too otherwise poor Watch has nowhere to sleep. Letter would have made her way home eventually, with much difficulty not wanting to leave Watch, but she knew the flock would be very worried seeing as she never left for that long, and broke the rule of being out way after dark. Then again, Letter was never really one for the flock rules to get in the way of a friend. Very very close friend. xd )
