Well, that's basically the same story that it's got, I'm just feeling like it's weaker then compared to the others I've got up, and I'm not sure why. Mouse said she thought it was fine... xD so maybe I'm just being silly...

I know you briefly thought of a crustacean for the Empty Chrysalis, so...

Sheep crab are full of awesome and can dwarf an X-Box in size:

A few years ago I saw a pic of one leaned up against its side of a glass tank and its legspan made it larger than the child who was looking at it. I can't remember what site that's from, though. :/

But it could be cool if you want the Raevan to have a more monstery appearance. O:

I'm not finding a lot of info on sheep crabs, but they're really cool looking ;A; is there a site I can go to with info on them? I like researching the animals a little heavily before I make a full decision >w< and so I can try and bring these attributes out in the Raevan~

I reflect upon a comment Mouse had previously mentioned about the appearance of the Abandoned Life. Perhaps, you could have the dust kind of twirling in the vial and shaping itself into bones. Like it appears like a fading bone or a bunch of dust reconstructing itself into a bone, ahhhh. I am being nonsensical D: Sorry!

Sad to say, I'm not very impressed with the new Empty Chrysalis one. I like how it ties into nature and is very mythical, but it doesn't seem to impact me as much as my favorite, the Healing Omen <3 Maybe you could tweak it to be more dangerous, more exotic, ...um..surprising? Like what if the chrysalis seemed to be eating the creature within it, instead of releasing it into its brand new life like it should? Like, instead of turning into a butterfly, you see the inside walls draining the bug inside or something... Ahhh, I'm ranting. No help from me D;

I have to agree with Kamina on the next item. I love the icon you did for the Healing Omen! <3 There is so much potential here, though I think I should caution one thing. Let's not say it "prolongs life" because that would make it seem immortal ...which..is bad. o x o Perhaps, it could be (ahhhhh, game ref) something similar to a red mage from FF. A creature of both healing and dark magics. So it's reactions would be unpredictable and either one extreme or the other. Ooohh, I just realized what this essence reminds me of now too: a phoenix feather. Or..maybe just a phoenix. :3

As for the souls. ...
They all scare me. D:
I'm sorry.

Though the crab and crocodile are intriguing-scary.
If you paired a croc's temper with your Healing Omen, I think that pair would work magically. Like a feathered lizard 8DD;;

Also, a nice note that would reflect this combination:
Crocodile oil has been used for centuries as a natural healing skin balm.

I hope I was of some help. <3 It's a little late, so I'll come back to this a little later on if I think of anything else/corrections!

Essences:

Healing Omen:
I like this idea. It is a solid contradiction and is interesting too. :'D I agree with Kaurii on your choice of wording. 'Prolonging life' seems to be more to the tune of making people immortal rather than healing them. I thought it would be neat, since it is a bad omen, that it still brought bad luck. Then again that may just overly complicate things. I think in this case, simplicity is best.

Empty Chrysalis:
Hmm, I like the basic concept; however, it can still use some work. I loved the idea Kaurii proposed: how the cocoon would steal life rather than provide it. I thought of another interesting idea! What if this particular chrysalis did the reverse of what they are supposed to do. Rather than releasing a 'matured' creature (a butterfly), it would take away a creature's age. That made no sense.... *head desk* Basically, if it 'captured' something like a fly it would be turned back into a maggot. In the case o a butterfly, it would be turned back into a caterpillar. And so on....

Abandoned Life:
Sorry to say this, it is my least favorite concept. Still probable, but not the best one you have in your quest thread. I thought it would be more interesting if the dust took on the form of the person who the 'life' once belonged to. You could even hear their faint mumbling or something. Then again.... that is like a ghost. *failz*

Souls:

Healing Omen and the Poison Dart frog: Dude... with those sexay colors and the possibility of crow wings..... *drool*

Healing Omen and European Dragon: It just seems so mystical. <3

Empty Chrysalis and Crocodile/Kind Cobra: They just seem like they would be a badass raevan. XD

I am probably horribly biased because I helped Snoof come up with it a little bit, but I am going to have to disagree with Kaurii and Shushi on the Empty Chrysalis thing. Following the logic you guys have of it being 'too simple', then you might be able to say that Lazarus's Eternal Flame needs something extra to be a good concept, or that the Living Shadow could use some more bells and whistles to meet the mark. It's a simple concept, but that's what makes it good. XD Why does it need more special characteristics if it qualifies as a fel essence the way it is? It already contradicts itself by being a perfectly-formed cocoon with no builder in sight.

Sapping life force sounds like something that would be within the power sphere of a Raevan made from it, though. ouo

Revamps
I changed around the Mirage of Fear based on the suggestions and critiques.
If anyone can think of something better then a daisy, let me know in here xD I still don't like the daisy but can't deny it is the easiest thing to work with at the moment.

Brought Back
Flying Fox soul for the Mirage of Fear!

Added
The "sapping" tid bit for the Empty Chrysalis because that was a good idea, especially for a power.
What Essences I want to match the Souls or think they match best.

So, any critiques on the above would be lovely! <3
Thanks guys for helping me for so long.

MINI EVENT RAEVAN CONCEPT

User Image

Essence: Healing Omen - A crow is usually a harbinger of impending death, but this black feather was knocked off of a crow as it was sucked up into the storm. In the aftermath, it landed against an injured animal, sealing up the wound and helping it to continue living. An omen of death that heals the living.
Soul: Crocodile
Owner: Anita Bishop
Powers: Healing; to a point, it is able to cure wounds, or rather, speed up the healing process. If a wound is healed that would naturally leave a scar, then the scar would be present at the end of the healing process. Its powers can not, under any circumstances, stop death--if the wound is going to lead to it, the healing will just be aesthetic and the injured person will still die.
Blood; something carried over from its soul, its blood is a natural repellent for most infections and viruses, as well as resulting in the Raevan being a fast healer itself. If shared, it may speed up recovery from sickness, but this would be even more limited than its healing powers. Some things just can't be healed.
Feeding: Is nourished by pain; if it hurts something to feed, it will simultaneously feed and heal it back.

In the aftermath, it landed against an injured animal, sealing up the wound and helping it to continue living. An omen of death that heals the living. "A nice idea, very unique. It follows Mouse's tip quite nicely - your description sticks to the point and the title is a good summary of the essence, attracting interest from the off. There's not really anything I can pick up on for you to improve.."
Soul: Crocodile "A nice choice of soul too. It's different to other souls in existance and crocodiles have a lot of interesting features that you can elaborate on, for example; death rolls, able to survive long droughts, ecetera."
"Evidently this power fits with your fel essence. No critisms here."
Pain; sort of like a voodoo doll, it is able to make others feel pain by concentrating and doing damage to itself--the pain transfers from the Raevan to its target. (Too much???) "Personally I'm not sure about this power.. It doesn't link directly to either of your soul or your essence, plus it just seems to be the opposite to his healing power... Seeing as your first power was linked to your essence perhaps you should think about how you could make a power steming from your soul choice. Here's an interesting story about crocodile blood; BBC NEWS. Digging around with some research there are lots of cool things that you could use for powers.. I remember watching a documentary about crocodiles and I was blown away by all the interesting things... They've hardly changed since the age of the dinosaurs, they raise their own young... I'm sure you'll be able to think of something. ;D
Feeding: Is nourished by pain; if it hurts something to feed, it will simultaneously feed and heal it back. "No problems here - simple but effective.

Took that one out, you're absolutely right >__>; I just jumped on it because it was the only other idea I had at the time.

BBC article helped, very informative <3 Was able to think of a blood "power" and edited accordingly. Will read some more.

[ Glad that I could help. ;D

So the healing omen power deals with direct treatment, for emergencies and actual wounds?
But I suppose a blood transfusion would be more of a medicinal treatment? Dealing with infections, diseases and such? ]

It'd probably be more like a home remedy, at least with how I'm seeing it. Like, the blood is actually ingested or something rather than being put into the blood stream itself, and it gives the immune system an extra boost. Small amounts, of course. It's more like a natural attribute [which was the word that was eluding me this morning, EURRRGHGHHH] than a true power, I think... maybe... xD

But as for the Healing Omen's powers, itself, yes, and those would be good ways to differentiate between the two -nodsnods-

I really like it! An animal with the ability to cause a bit of destruction if it wished combined with an essence that heals. I see this Raevan being good friends with Iorek, hehe. Good luck Snoof!
