Leru RP Log -Life!- T`Poi He was getting bigger. Elua couldn't help but feel proud of her little boy, growing up so quickly and learning all sorts of things Elua couldn't. Oh sure...the cheetah had her brand of wisdom...but she was the 'universal love' sort. Not 'universal knowledge'. And Elua knew she wasn't the smartest cookie on the block, so she just went with her strengths.
Like finding her 'mother' and pouncing her with a gleeful 'good morning' and a lick. Manda Leru let out a little squeak at that, rolling onto her back and batting at the larger female just a bit. "Oof! You do realize you're a little big to do that, right?" she asked, though the smaller serval was smiling. She really did love her 'daughter' of another species... though their relationship was a bit of a strange one. T`Poi Elua giggled and grinned. "That's why I don't pounce like I did when I was little." She purred and nuzzled Leru. "I don't want to break my beautiful mother~" The brown cheetah was always in a good mood, but she seemed happier than usual lately. Elua had it pointed out to her once...she just figured it was because of Niju. Having someone who loved you unconditionally was like rolling around in catmint. Manda Leru laughed in return and purred back at the other. "All right, I will admit you're a lot more gentle now. There were a couple of times when you were about my size, though, that I thought you would break me!" T`Poi Elua gasped theatrically, as if in dramatic horror. "Why mother dearest! I would never do such a thing!" The expression melted into a giggle. "I know...I didn't realize I was getting so big back then. I'm MUCH better now!" Manda "That you are..." Leru agreed, wriggling out from under her daughter after a moment or two and smoothing fur down. Then she tilted head a bit at the other. "You seem like you've been in a good mood lately. Any particular reason?" T`Poi Elua laughed brightly. "Life! Having found long-lost blood family, having carried and birthed Niju...It's all been so wonderful!" She danced back a few steps. "I can't WAIT to see what else life has in store for me!" Manda Blinking just a bit at that, Leru smiled then and nodded. "Aah yes... that would do it." Moving toward the cheetah, she gave her daughter's muzzle a quick lick. "With any luck, life will continue to be kind to you ... and to us all." T`Poi Elua nodded happily. "Yeah! Maybe I'll one day find myself with brothers and sisters!" She gave the serval and teasing grin and wink. "OH! And...we can't forget Eisheth's babies!" She giggled again. "Little cousins to play with and dance with and teach to love the world!" Manda Leru smiled just a little secretively at that first comment. Perhaps soon ... she thought that her night romp a few days ago had perhaps... borne fruit but it was just a bit too early to tell right now. "Young ones are always lots of fun," she agreed with a purr. And most of the little ones now were still small enough that they didn't completely squash the serval in their play - which was nice. T`Poi Elua raised a brow at the...strange look Leru had at first. And then...well, she just kept smiling. "I think...after Niju is grown, I wanna find another good friend to have cubs with." She chuckled and stretched. "I like having my own little one...teaching him, nurturing him...What was it like for you, raising me?" Manda "Odd," Leru replied almost instantly, with a quick smile to show that she didn't mean anything bad by it. "You were almost my size even as a cub... and usually babies are quite a bit smaller than their mother!" Then, they didn't grow up to be three times the size either. "But... it was definitely worth every moment." T`Poi Elua nodded. "I think...Niju's going to be BIGGER than me." She remembered his father's size well. "Maybe I should start teaching him how to keep a check on his strength..." She laughed. "Sorry...you know how my mind wanders." The cheetah flopped onto her back to stare at the morning sky above. "I'm glad you raised me Leru. I'd never have seen everything I have if you hadn't found me." Manda "I'm glad that I found you too..." Leru replied softly, edging over to lie down beside the other, purring.

-Challenge Met- Truth.Be.Told A new night. And it found Jasiri trotting back into the 'common area' of the pride, a hare being dragged with her. Her first real kill, and she looked insanely proud of herself. She'd already shown it to her father, and now she intended to show it to Dahabu. But a new scent caught her attention. Three new scents. A grin broke out on her blood-stained black muzzle and she started for the nearest one. Well...what had the night brought to the pride now? Manda Though he had been following his dad just a few minutes before - as soon as 'Tani told them it was okay, the three cubs had wandered off in various directions. They knew where home was - a little cave 'Tani had claimed for his own a while back. And though the adolescent male did intend to care for his cubs, he wasn't about to coop them all up at said cave when exploring would use up more of their energy and make them more likely to be quiet and sleep later.
Worming his way under a bush, Caradhras imagined he was some kind of mighty hunter, maybe even a Necrostat like 'Tani had told them he would be one day. It was so exciting... what prey might he find here? Truth.Be.Told Jasiri grinned as she saw red fur and a smaller form. Well...new cubs. She put her kill down and trotted up as the cub got himself under a bush...and stepped on his tail. Not hard enough to hurt...just enough to pin it down. "Well...new blood, hmm?" Her grin was rather...menacing looking, with the blood from her kill still present. "Where you did you come from, little vampire? Or are you an outsider brought in..." Like her rather worthless mother. Manda Caradhras made a little yelping noise - having been concentrating so hard on his 'hunting' that he hadn't heard the other cub come closer. But as soon as he realized what was going on, he whirled around and clawed at whatever he might be able to reach, hissing. " 'M not an outsider! My dad is gonna be the Necrostat!" Truth.Be.Told Jasiri kept her grin and just swiped back, claws kept in. "Really?" So, he was a pride-cub, like her. Good. He rose a little higher in her eyes. "So, little fighter...What's your name. I'm Jasiri." She sat back, placing her mud-toed paw against her chest. "My father is Toshiro, one of the Verlos." Manda "Yes, really!" he replied, sitting up and ignoring how his tail hurt a little now from her stepping on it. He shouldn't let her know that it hurt, he had to be tough! "I'm Caradhras," he answered, puffing chest out a little. Her dad was just a plain -Verlos-, his dad was clearly better. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri raised a brow and lifted her paw, to let his tail free. No need to keep it pinned now. "Caradhras...a strange name." She shrugged. "But I'm sure it fits you. You do seem a strange little cub." Heh...she had found she couldn't get a rise out of Dahabu...but other cubs...other cubs were so easy to stoke with words. It was rather funny. "Maybe you'll grow into your name...seems a mouthful for someone so little." Manda "Not -that- strange," he protested, frowning. "And my dad's name is longer anyway. If you wanna shorten it somehow, go ahead," he challenged, wondering what she might come up with. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri laughed. "Shorten it? Oh I can do better than that..." Her orange eyes narrowed in dark glee. "Grass." Best. Name. Ever. Oh yes...tonight was turning into such a wonderful opportunity for mischief! She gave the younger cub a look somewhere between mischief, superiority, and pleasure. It was good to be older. Manda "-Grass-?" Caradhras repeated, staring at her. "I'm not grass!" Growling, he set his paws and launched himself at the female, aiming to bite at her sensitive ears. Teach her to call him grass! Truth.Be.Told YES! Jasiri ducked and rolled, trying to make sure her back paws would hit his belly. Claws weren't needed...not against a younger cub. But she would make sure he hurt...she was good at making others hurt. "You're Grass!" Manda "Am NOT!" Caradhras snarled, rolling quickly out of the way to bounce back up to his feet. He might be smaller and younger but that didn't meant he was -stupid-! He'd play-fought enough with his own siblings back with their mom and on the way here ... he'd seen that trick before. "I say... -you're- Grass!" he shouted then, circling her slowly and looking for an opening. Truth.Be.Told Well! He wasn't too bad. So far. Jasiri chuckled. "MY name sounds nothing like grass...but thank you for the sentiment!" She kept watching...waiting...circling him right back... What to do, what to do. With no indication, she launched herself at him, seemingly aiming for his throat. Manda Caradhras growled at that, and flattened himself when she jumped at him - then rolled onto his back and stuck paws up into the air - -his- claws out. Hopefully she wouldn't be able to stop in time and would land right on top of him where he could get at her. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri growled in pain as she landed...but rather than let it get to her, she just made sure her own front claws dug into his sides, and pushed back with one of her back feet, claws out and seeking to press against his throat. If he wanted to put up a good fight...well, Jasiri preferred a draw to a loss. Manda Caradhras yowled at that and started batting at the slightly larger female, tucking his head in so she couldn't get hold of his throat. Not that he wasn't used to pain... their mother had taught them to fight rough before bringing them here to give to their father. She'd explained why, too, so that they all understood. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri just laughed, grin still on her face...though it was far more feral now. "That's what you get for starting fights with bigger cubs, little boy!" Since she couldn't get at his throat...she sheathed her claws and used his muzzle to give her leverage to flip herself tail over nose onto her back, letting go of him as she did so. Once free, though her belly a little bloody, she righted herself. "Not bad." Manda Caradhras also rolled over and shook himself a bit, also bleeding in a few places but not seeming to notice or care at the moment. "I think -you- started it, calling me names," he huffed. But still, he looked a little proud at her words. Wasn't every day a bigger cub said you weren't bad. He'd really only ever practiced fighting with his siblings before this - since his mom had kept them hidden from the rest of the demons. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri just chuckled again. "Mmmm...perhaps. But You want to know why I started in on you?" She leaned forward, grin less feral now. "Your tone. The way you held yourself. You're not better than me, kid. You've got potential...but that potential hasn't outstripped me." She pulled back. "And I look forward to the day you do." It was...a strange way to think but...that was Jasiri. Manda Caradhras pricked ears forward, listening to her and frowning just a bit. Sure, maybe she was right... but it didn't really matter that much did it? Well...whatever. "Heh," he replied, smirking a bit. "I'm lookin forward to it too." Truth.Be.Told Jasiri nodded. "Well then...Who's your father?" His markings DID look familiar...rather like that older male's. The one Dahabu thought was the greatest in the world. Manda "His name's Morwa'shetani, but most just end up calling him 'Tani," Caradhras answered instantly, puffing up -just- a little, but not so much as before. "See... told you his name was longer than mine." Truth.Be.Told Jasiri laughed and nodded. "That you did!" So it WAS the oh-so-famous 'Tani! "I even know who your father is...my best friend adores him." Of course...that wasn't quite accurate...since Dahabu was more like her TOY than her FRIEND. Manda "Really?" Caradhras asked, leaning forward a bit. That was kind of cool! That others here knew who his dad was and actually liked him and stuff... maybe he could be famous too when he got bigger! Truth.Be.Told "Really. Your father has been teaching Dahabu lots of things." She wrinkled her nose. "Some of it confuses me...but the rest is good." She shrugged. "I guess some things are for boys and other things are for girls." Manda Caradhras blinked and then laughed at that. "Probably, yea," he agreed, though he really had no idea what she was talking about. That didn't mean, however, that he had to -act- like he had no idea. Probably the only reason he hadn't seen this Dahabu was because he'd only been here a couple of nights. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri took a sniff of the air, and her smile calmed. Her kill was still there. "Hey...you hungry, Caradhras?" She knew SHE was. And why not reward the growing talent? It wasn't like she could EAT the ENTIRE hare herself. She wasn't big enough yet. Manda Blinking slightly, Caradhras nodded. "Yea... we usually eat when we go home, but dad said if we wanted anything else we should learn to hunt." They got enough to eat at home, but more was always good... Truth.Be.Told Jasiri started towards where she'd left her kill. "I caught a hare earlier, if you don't mind sharing. It was a nice fat one...made it slow and easy to catch." She was also determined to be a good hunter. Just like her daddy! "If you want...I can teach you how to hunt later?" Manda Caradhras blinked again and then nodded eagerly. "That would be awesome! Dad promised he'd teach us too but I know he's busy a lot ... so it'd be good if someone else helped." He got up and trotted after her, sniffing appreciatively at the hare. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri nodded. "Fathers tend to be busy. Mothers too...though my mother CODDLES my brother." She snorted, a sneer on her face. "Cowardly little thing that he is...Even Daddy knows he's not a proper vampire." Manda "Aw that sucks. Those're no fun," Caradhras agreed with a wrinkle of his nose. "I'd impress dad more too probably if I already know some things about hunting!" Truth.Be.Told "Oh certainly! It's ALWAYS best to impress your father!" She LOVED impressing her daddy...To see the praise in his eyes was absolutely priceless. "We can start tomorrow night if you want." Manda Caradhras nodded eagerly at that. "Sounds good to me! Wanna meet here again or ... somewhere else?" It didn't really matter to him, but he hadn't explored everywhere yet, so if it was someplace he didn't know he'd have to work on finding it tonight so he didn't look stupid. Truth.Be.Told "Here is perfectly fine." She perked up and grinned. "You know...After I eat, I think I'll go find my brother. Make sure he knows what HIS place is." Jasiri chuckled and tore the hare in half, nosing half to Caradhras. "Eat up~" Manda Caradhras nodded at that and grinned, tearing off a chunk of meat and lapping at the blood of the creature - just as he'd been taught by both mother and father. There was more strength and power in the blood... and both his parents' prides held true to this. Truth.Be.Told Jasiri drank the blood from her own half, then tore eagerly into the meat. A good end to a good start...This was certainly going to be a very, very good night...Maybe she'd bat her brother around a bit, and stand up to her mother again.

-A Meeting of Friends- T`Poi Ekun remembered this area! She sniffed the air a bit, searching for a familiar scent...Yes! There it was! Faint, but recent! Chia was still here! Ekun squealed in glee and picked her younger daughter up by the scruff of her neck. "We're goink to fee a fwiend of Mama's, Pwani~" The little white and brown cub wriggled, pouting. "MAMA! But...I wanted to EXPLORE! We're SEEKING right?" When her mother didn't answer, just kept going over the hill, the cub slouched and deepened her pout. Not fun. Not fun at all. Pwani HATED being carried.Manda Indeed, Chiamaka was still in the area... and now she had quite the group of little ones of her own. She was currently settled between the roots of a tree toward the edge of the oasis she and Ayo had been calling home - giving one of said cubs a bath. The others were off playing near their father, thank the gods. And Naida was usually easy to catch for baths - since she -liked- them. Too much, Chia sometimes thought. She knew that her daughter had a bit of a stuck-up attitude but with so many cubs... there was only so much she could do about that. T`Poi The younger lioness spotted her purple friend and put Pwani down, a grin on her face. "CHIA!!!! I TOLD you I wouldn't forget this place!" She trotted towards the older lioness, tail swinging happily behind her...which her daughter kept trying to pounce on as they walked. Manda Chia looked up quickly at that and grinned. "Ekun! It's been forever!" she called out, abandoning Naida's bath to get up and pad toward the other lioness."M-ooooom! I'm still dirty!" Naida almost immediately whined, sitting up with a pout.Glancing back, Chia frowned slightly. "No you aren't, you look beautiful." T`Poi Ekun chuckled at the little cub. "You look quite pretty. Though...your back looks rather familiar." She'd seen that marking somewhere before...just not as BIG. She turned red eyes back to Chia. "Yours?" Pwani stopped trying to attack her mother's tail and raised a brow at the older cub. "You look fine." She snorted. "'Sides....a little dirt never hurt no one."Manda Chia nodded at the question, a proud sort of smile spreading across her maw. "Yes... this is Naida. Naida, this is Ekun and ... oh my, you have a cub too!" she exclaimed, having spotted Pwani when she spoke up. "Hello there...""Dirt is ICKY!" Naida protested, drawing herself up a bit and licking at a paw for a moment. T`Poi Ekun nodded. "Yeah." She would have blushed if her fur was lighter. But the black hid it rather well. "An old friend of mine...well, the little spark we had kinda GREW." She smiled. "I couldn't be happier though. The only thing that would make it even better...Well, my siblings and I and Usiku are searching for." She sighed as Pwani stuck her tongue out. "Manners, sweetheart. But...we're searching for my Papa and his sister." Pwani pouted at her mother...then blew a raspberry at Naida again. "Dirt is NOT icky. Dirt is USEFUL. And fun! You can draw in it and dance on it!"Manda Chia tilted head slightly at that and then nodded. "Ah, looking for family ... always a fun thing with how big the world is." Sighing as well, she let eyes lid a little as the cubs bickered. It wasn't doing much harm for the moment, though, and maybe Naida would learn something."Useful?? Are you crazy?" she asked, sticking nose into the air. "You shouldn't dance on dirt, you'll get some kind of disease... or ... or ...ants will crawl up your nose! And that's gross!" T`Poi Ekun nodded. "Maybe...You can help?" She knew Chia was older...so maybe she'd seen more? Or heard something. "My Papa...Mama said he's rather red, has...well has spots on his butt like hers, which look rather a lot like your daughter's, and green eyes." That's where the little cub's spots were familiar from...they looked like the ones on her Mama's bum! She'd give Chia a name later...description first. Pwani huffed. "Let the ants try! I'll...I'll eat 'em! Cause I'm gonna be THE best hunter EVER!" She grinned and wiggled her butt a bit as she took a pouncing crouch. "Even better than Mama says Mister Jethro is!"Manda Chia blinked at that... and then eyes widened as Ekun kept on describing this Papa of hers. "Th--that... sounds an AWFUL lot like my mate..." she said, tone gone suddenly colder - though she wasn't mad at Ekun. "Ayo is red and has spots like Naida's and green eyes..." Just -what- had said mate been up to, anyway...."Eat ants?! Eeeewww!" Naida exclaimed, completely ignoring the adults' conversation going on above them. "And hunting isn't fun. You get dirty and you don't ever catch things anyway. I'M just gonna find a boy to do all my hunting for me." T`Poi Ekun blinked. Ayo...AYO. "Well...Mama also said my Papa's name is Ayo'obi? Does...that ring a bell?" Ekun hoped he was here! And if he was...well, they wouldn't have to look anymore! And...wow. Ekun realized then they'd just need to find Usiku's sister and then...well...what would they do after that? Pwani snorted. "Baw! Boys can be STUPID. Except Papa! My Papa's really nice and polite and strong. HE'S nothing like my brothers." She grinned. "Besides...getting dirty is fun! I can't wait until we go to the ocean, cause then I can play in the sand and then go wash it off in the water no problem!"Manda Chia nodded with a low sort of growl. Considering that she had met Ekun even before she and Ayo had really been -together-, she couldn't be too mad, she knew. But it would have been nice if he'd at least TOLD her he had other cubs! Ooooh ... "Yes... it does. Ayo'obi is his full name," she replied after a moment or two. Naida looked horrified at the other cub's words, but forced herself to keep talking - she didn't want to look stupid! "Fine, SOME boys are stupid but not all of them! I ... I want to find someone like a PRINCE. Then I can be a princess and I won't have to do anything ... ever." She smiled, ignoring the sand and water comment, since that was just silly. T`Poi Ekun took a step back and looked at Chia with wide eyes. "I'm...guessing he did something stupid?" Chia was definitely NOT her biological Mama after all. Wrong colors. "If...if it helps any, Mama said he doesn't know about my sisters and brother and I. And...Mama's actually my Grandma. But...she raised us." Ekun thanked whatever god had gifted her with quick wits. Pwani laughed. "A PRINCE?! Those are just fairy tales!" She snorted. "And normal lions only become princesses in fairy tales. I'M going to keep my four paws firmly in reality, thank you." The little cub sat down and huffed.Manda Chia huffed softly. "He just ... never told me that he had other cubs. -Or- that there were any other females to have cubs -with-." Sighing, she sat down, though the tip of her tail still lashed back and forth a bit. "It's not your fault... and really, we didn't get together until after I met you the last time, so I know he wasn't... going behind my back, but it's still annoying.""They are NOT!" Naida protested, frowning. "Princes are real! They're in the prides, and they're the sons of the leaders. You don't know -anything-." T`Poi Ekun sat by Chia, worried for her friend. "I wish I could say something...but there's not much I can say." She sighed. "I'm pretty sure Usiku has only really ever...well...been with me." She smiled nervously. "Though...I think I know a way you might get some...payback?" The younger cub snorted. "Well, Mama said the sons of OUR pride's leaders aren't treated special. They're raised just like EVERY OTHER CUB." She huffed. "Cause we're all a FAMILY. And the leaders are like everyone's mamas and papas!"Manda Chia nodded at first... and then turned toward the other, ears perked up a little. "Oh really...?" she asked, interested now. If there was some way to get a bit of revenge... that could definitely make her feel better."Then your pride is stupid," Naida replied instantly with a little sniff. "If you're a leader, you should be special!" T`Poi Ekun grinned. "Well...he doesn't know about me and my siblings. Which means...he doesn't know I had cubs." She chuckled. "What if...Pwani strode up to him and said 'Hi grandpa!'" She chuckled. "Imagine the surprise he'd get." And if her Papa was ANYTHING like Rai...well, it could result in hilarity. Pwani growled and took a pouncing pose again. "It.Is.NOT.STUPID." She launched herself at the other cub. "Everyone in the pride is special! Cause we all can do stuff others can't!"Manda Chia blinked at that and then grinned. "Ooh yes... that would be priceless!" Then, she looked over as Naida let out a screech, trying to dodge Pwani while not falling into the dirt at the same time. Sighing, she plucked her daughter up and set her down a little distance away. "You shouldn't fight, dear..." "But she STARTED it!" Naida protested, stamping a paw. T`Poi Ekun squeaked and grabbed Pwani, thumping her lightly on the head. "What did I say about that!" She frowned at her daughter, not at all happy with her behavior. Pwani pouted and glared at Naida. "Not to start fights if the other cub doesn't wanna play." She would totally rile Moto up later so she could get the bitey out of her system...since OBVIOUSLY she wouldn't be allowed to give this other cub the thumping she deserved.

-Guide Dog?- T`Poi TREES! Pich adored trees, with their pretty green leaves and the rough bark perfect for keeping claws from growing too long. And now...there wasn't just one or two trees in her sight....there were FIVE! Sure, they were the same kind as any other savanna tree. But there were LOTS of them! Five was, after all, a big number. The blue-and-white wild dog giggled and ran about each one's trunk. And then she attempted to climb one.
That didn't go well, as she ended up flat on her back, a little dazed. Well then...she wouldn't try that again. For a while. Not really missing a beat, the cheerful juve got up and stretched. Maybe there were other interesting things around! Like shiney stones, of the sort Lela liked. The pup giggled again and started looking about the ground. Manda The little group that Eletumaini's family traveled with had stopped in yet another new location for a few days. Ele was starting to wonder... how his dad did this - always being in new places all the time. Never knowing where things -were- until you ran into them. Usually nose-first. Ele supposed maybe that the group had been to some of these places before, so his dad remembered where things were. But surely not -all- of them!
Still, the little leopard didn't mind too much. He liked exploring - and he'd learned early to walk carefully, putting paws out far in front of him with each step and keeping his head tucked in as much as he could. He still found things by hitting them with his nose but he was getting a little better. Sometimes he smelled things first. Or even heard or felt them, if it was windy. Things in front of blocked the wind... Like now. He paused, sniffing carefully. Tree..? No, more than one. And something else.... an unfamiliar scent. Scooting back just a little, he wondered if he should try to find someone else. He'd been warned about other preybeasts who might eat small cubs.... T`Poi Pich hadn't really been paying attention to where she was going, other than looking for something shiney. So when she saw a pair of black and white paws, she froze. Eh? Pink eyes blinked and looked up...and the little juve grinned brightly. A kitty-cat! Like her papa had once described! He'd met ALL sorts of creatures, after all! Her little tail wagged. Maybe a new friend? "Hi!" Manda Ele made a sort of squeaking noise and jumped what had to be three feet straight up. Oh gods, whatever it was it was close!! He quickly skittered back a little ways - just hoping there was nothing behind him. T`Poi Pich blinked, tilted her head, and whined. Why'd it act so scared? Pich was friendly! She was a good girl! "Pich...scary?" She pouted, ears flat. "Sorry?" She took a careful step forward, hoping not to scare the kitty anymore. Manda Ele froze at that, listening carefully - ears perked toward the other now from where they'd gone flat on his head. It... no ... she ... sounded little, like him. And not really scary. Didn't smell scary either...just different. "I ... you .. startled me," he tried, careful still. T`Poi Pich perked back up happily. Yay! It talked. Or...he talked. Didn't sound like a girl~ She grinned. "Sorry. Startled Pich too. Sniffing around...then paf! Kitty paws!" She giggled. He seemed a little skittish...almost like he didn't know what was going on around him. It was a bit confusing...but Pich didn't mind. She'd gotten him talking! Manda Ele blinked at that and then smiled slightly. Kitty paws... so she had gotten that close and he hadn't even noticed. He winced slightly. He'd been paying more attention to the scent of the trees and trying to figure out what she was and thinking of going back... probably if he'd used his ears too he would have -heard- her. "You are... Pich?" he asked then. T`Poi Pich nodded. "Yup!" She sat down, tail swishing to and fro behind her. "Pich the wild dog!" Though she was excited, her voice wasn't very loud...but she seemed to get by without volume just fine. "Wha's kitty's name?" Manda Oh... a wild dog. He'd heard of those before, and he didn't think they were supposed to be very dangerous. Besides, she -was- little. So Ele relaxed just a bit more and replied, "I'm Eletumaini." His own voice was quiet as well, and maybe just a little reserved. "I've never... uhm. Met a wild dog before." T`Poi She giggled. "An' Pich never met a kitty before." She scooted just a little closer. "Nice to meet Eletumaini!" He spoke like she did! Maybe not as...bright, but definitely the same volume! "Want to play?" It was ALWAYS polite to ask first. No sense in assuming, because it only made others annoyed. Manda Ele blinked again. "Uhm... play what?" he asked, sitting up a little. He played with the other cubs in the group sometimes, but there weren't many of them. And they always... were really careful with him because he couldn't see. Ever since he'd figured out there was something -wrong- with him, he kind of... didn't like that. He didn't need special treatment. T`Poi Pich blinked. What to play...what to play...OH! "Hide and seek!" She giggled. "Is fun! An' Pich is good hider!" So she thought. She was better than some of her siblings...but not the best, by far. Usually, she had a tail sticking out...or she couldn't help but giggle at her brilliant hiding spot. Manda Eeer... well, okay he'd played that before. But usually the others did something to make it easier for them to find when he was 'it'. And he wasn't all that great at hiding. "Sure!" he replied though, smiling. Let's see how he could do ... in a -real- game. T`Poi Pich bounced a bit, on her feet now. "So...who's it first?" She thought a moment, then grinned at her new playmate. "You choose?" Give her new friend the benefit of choosing. It was more fun that way! Manda "I wanna be... if that's okay.." Ele said, maybe a little too quickly. He knew that he really was bad at hiding. Without being able to see, he couldn't get into places where others couldn't see -him-. T`Poi "Kay!" What was a good number...good number...TEN! Ten was a good number to hide by! "Count to ten! Pich will hide!" Ten was definitely enough time to hide herself well...even if her playmate was a kitty. Her papa had said kitties were good at finding things...so Pich would have to hide herself REALLY well this time! Manda Ele nodded at that and put his paws over his eyes like he knew he was 'supposed' to, even if it made no difference to him. "Okay... one ... two ... three...." he started. But as the leopard counted, his ears were still up ... listening. Which direction would she go..? T`Poi Pich grinned and looked about quickly, then darted to her left, into the taller grasses surrounding the trees. And almost ran right into a rather large rock. She nearly squeaked in glee, but kept her muzzle shut and darted around the stone. Settling herself in its back shadow, she waited, pink eyes watching...tail twitching... Manda Ele heard the rustling of that grass and made a little mental note of it... trying to remember where there was a lot of grass around here. Finally, he said louder, "Ten! Ready or not.. here I come!" Then he raised his head a little and listened more... and sniffed at the air. Maybe he could smell the grass... or even Pich herself! T`Poi It was hard for Pich to stay completely quiet. Her wagging tail moved some of the grass around it, and she had to stifle several giggles. Her scent wouldn't be very strong until one got close to her hiding place...but she hadn't wasted time in finding it. Hard to leave much of a scent if you weren't someplace long. Manda Ele heard the sound again and instantly turned toward it. Then slowed down a little again... practically creeping forward. He didn't know this area, and he didn't want to run into anything. That would be ... embarrassing. Still, he managed to find that rock in a painful fashion and had to bite back a yelp. T`Poi Pich blinked. She'd heard something...she was sure of it. Carefully, she peeked around her hiding rock. And her eyes grew wide. Uh-oh! She was about to be found. The wild dog ducked back behind her rock, hopefully before being seen, and tried to sit still and quiet...not really realizing her new friend couldn't really see her. Manda Ele shook his paw to try and make it stop hurting, and then pricked ears up, hoping he hadn't scared her away with the small bit of noise he had made. But no... her scent was still close and he lowered his nose closer to the ground, following the trail slowly around that rock. T`Poi Pich had zoned a little, certain of her hiding place...and then blinked as she saw Ele. With his nose to the ground. She raised a brow. Kitties didn't do that right? Only dogs like her and her family...And...she was in plain sight! Curious, Pich kept her movements small...she couldn't really stop breathing, but her tail had stopped moving. Manda Ele sniffed again and then raised his head a little. The smell was stronger here! Maybe she was close! Moving forward more quickly, he (of course) didn't even notice that he was right on a collision course with the little wild dog's front legs. T`Poi Pich squeaked and tried to scramble back, tripping over her own bum and falling onto her back. What the...hadn't he seen her? Blinking, it clicked in Pich's head. "Ele....can't see?" Manda "Found you!" Ele cried out as soon as he bumped into her, even though he fell backwards too, onto his rump. Then he blinked and opened his mouth to protest... then shut it again. It was no use hiding it now. "No... I can't..." he admitted, sighing. T`Poi Pich just grinned and rolled and wiggled back to her feet. Trotting the few steps it took to get to him, Pich nosed his cheek. "Pich see! Pich has GOOD eyes! Good 'nough for two!" Mommy and Papa would let her stay around her new friend, she was sure of it! After all...Papa was clumsy enough for her entire family. They didn't need Pich's clumsiness too! Manda Ele tensed slightly at first, thinking she was going to make fun of him, or maybe even just run off and not want to play anymore. He really didn't have too many close friends... But then he blinked again and turned his head toward her. "Wha... what do you mean?" T`Poi Pich giggled. "Silly. Pich see for Pich AND Ele! Make sure Ele don't run into things. Like Pich or Ele's Mommy and Papa!" She licked the top of his muzzle. "Pich be Ele's eyes!" Manda Ele almost snapped out a no... he didn't -need- help. But... if nothing else, this had proved in a way that he did. He couldn't see and everyone else could. There was something about him that was wrong and broken... no matter that his dad said it was just something 'different'. He knew better. And he could tell that Pich wasn't offering just to be able to make fun later. She really -did- want to help. And ... he wanted a friend. So, with another sigh, he nodded and gave in. "All right... you can be my eyes." T`Poi Pich yipped happily and nuzzled him. "Pich be good eyes for Ele! And maybe...maybe find a way for Ele to see without Pich!" Her new friend had sounded a bit sad. Pich hated her friends and family to be sad. "Come on! Meet Mommy and Papa!" She nudged Ele happily, to get him to go with her to where the family was denned. Manda Ele couldn't help but smile at that, standing up to start off in the direction she was nudging him. "I do okay where I know the area... just uhm. Tell me if I'm gonna run into something," he said, ears flicking about.

-Two With Attitudes- Grif Rainchild Meleth didn't want to be anywhere near her family at the moment. Or...what was LEFT of it, anyways. So, in this strange jungle they'd run into, Meleth had gone hiding in the roots of a very large, very old tree. And refused to come out at the moment. Not that her mother was looking for her...Her mother disappointed her the most. She'd thought her mother was strong, in a way. That maybe she'd find her demon one day. But no. Her mother panicked. And fled with she, Ri, and their two brothers. The black and brown cub wouldn't miss her other two sisters....Ri had always got on better with Kas, and Enda was...ugh. Just ugh. She snorted, and poked her head out of her little root-cave. Was there anything in this place besides bugs she could take her frustration out on? Manda 'Tani was wandering along, having just finished pouncing on some of those same bugs for hunting practive. For the most part, he got enough to eat along with the other Bloodlings of the pride. But ... other than that, he was pretty much left on his own. Which was just fine with him, thanks. Grinning, the young Juvenile sauntered down the path with ears perked up, seeing if there was anyone else around here. It'd been awhile since he saw some of his friends, and he was wondering where they were.
But then he caught sight of a little brown head poking out of some roots and stopped, tilting head. Well well! An intruder! Even if it was only a cub. "Hey! What're you doing here?" he called out, standing tall. Grif Rainchild Meleth bristled and looked to the source of the voice that dared speak to HER that way. "That is none of your concern." He looked a bit older than her, but he was still a young one...not worthy at all of her attention. She snorted and climbed out of her hidey-hole fully, shaking some dirt off her and stretching. Even if he was colored well, he couldn't have been a demon. The only demons out beyond the borders were in her own family. She looked back to him, to see if he was still there. Yup. She sighed. "What do you want, little boy." Manda 'Tani growled at that and stalked up closer to her. "Hey! I'm bigger than you are, little mud-bucket!" he protested, trying to come up with an insulting name on the spot. She -was- brown like mud, so hey ... it worked, right? "And it's my concern 'cause this is my pride and you're tres... tresspa ... bargin' in!" Grif Rainchild That got her. "Mud-bucket?" She growled and narrowed red eyes at him. "My coloring is not that of mud. It's that of wood and shadows. FAR better for blending in than your...bloody fur." Stupid boy. Her fur was perfectly fine! Nothing wrong with it AT ALL. "And I won't be here long. I doubt I'd want to, if your pride is so small I haven't heard of it." Manda "I don't NEED to blend in!" 'Tani protested, puffing his chest out. "And it is so like mud." Padding over closer, he swiped a paw through the dirt and then wiped it on her shoulder. "See! Same color." Grif Rainchild The cub bared her teeth and swiped at him as he got dirt on her fur. If she didn't want it there, it didn't belong! "Is not! My fur is a lighter brown!" She tried to wipe the dirt off now, looking very, very irritated. "You're a fool if you think your fur isn't a disadvantage! What happens when you get bigger and are on your own. Who'll catch your prey then, hmm?" Manda 'Tani easily dodged that and then sat back with a superior look on his face. "Duh! I'll catch my own food. I already do that a little... I caught a mouse the other day. Maybe it didn't have a lot of blood but I still caught it!" His tone was high-handed, but also defensive. He knew very well that no one -really- cared whether he starved. If he hadn't been in a pride he probably would have been in trouble. But around here there were those who hunted for the younger ones, so he was all right for now.

Te RP Log -Lessons in Rock-Art and Life- Manda Ever since he had decided to leave the healers' group ... Te had been wandering, mostly. He drifted from place to place, feeling just a bit lost and perhaps lonely as well. The large male would fetch up in one place or another, stay for a while ... then move on. Really, some part of him was quite displeased with his life at this point. His brother hated him ... had tried to -kill- him... and now he didn't even have any idea where the other was. Not that it mattered. Nevermind that he'd never ... really hated his brother, never meant for them to fight... Huffing, he shook out his mane a bit and attempted to -not- think about depressing things. And blinked. What in the world... was that up ahead? o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o Bluu was having a decidedly fine day. He'd awoken this morning and treated himself to a fine brunch of mouse. The mice hadn't been too keen on his choice of cuisine, but Bluu'mng'arizo was not to be dissuaded. Having wolfed several down delicately, he'd then taken to his traditional afternoon nap....nearly an hour ago he'd awoken, and had been forced to find himself a new pursuit. There was this rock that he'd stumbled on, a fine specimen, all jutting and shiny in places, and so fine a thing could positively NOT go unadorned. And so the lion had gathered up sticks, grass, flowers, feathers and whatever ELSE he might get his hands on, and had proceeded to weave a fine decoration about the boulder's middle. It was looking just SMASHING so far...oh wait, that feather needed to be a little to the left... Manda Te raised an eyebrow at the strange, and very -bright- lion over there who seemed to be decorating a rock. Was he ... erm. Crazy or something? Well, hey. Either way, it was a diversion. "Hey!" the red male called out, padding closer. "What're you doing, trying to choke that rock?" o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o Unused to being disturbed, Bluu froze, one claw delicately aligning a long piece of grass. "Choking?" He echoed, and then his ears swiveled, honing in. Eyeing his work skeptically, he sighed, "Well I suppose I've never thought about the breathing patterns of rocks and boulders." Leaning in towards his masterpiece, the dark lion cleared his throat. "I say, old chap, is it getting a bit tight about the old airways?" ... a moment of silence passed, and then Bluu turned back to his visitor, sitting down on haunches to wrinkle his nose at the other. "He says he's fine." Manda Te blinked. Okay, yes. Crazy ... definitely crazy. Still, this could be entertaining, so long as the other didn't turn violent or something. "You sure about that? How d'you know what language rocks speak, anyway?" he asked - painting a concerned look on his face. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o "Well have you ever studied rock?" He inquired, pawing idly at the dirt beneath his claws, "If you had, you'd know...but since you haven't, take the word of a linguistic genius on the topic, will you?" A faint smirk touched his maw, "So who are you, my good fellow? And what are you in for?" Blue eyes darted over to the rock again, eyeing it accusingly before eeeeeever so slightly straightening a flower that had begun to lean slightly to the left. Manda Te laughed softly at that, nodding once to concede the point. "Te ... just Te. The long version's too long to mess with," he replied with a quick shake of that mane. "And I'm just wandering, mostly ... go no where in particular to be. You?" o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o "And I am Bluu'mng'arizoooooo..." he introduced, sing-songing his name and tilting head from one side to the other as he did so. "It means blue glowing or something silly like that, so you can call me Bluu. 'Tis easier for everyone's tongue. I, myself, am a meanderer in the pathways of life. I care little for anything save my own whims and entertainment, so that is what I pursue." He grinned, "You seem both a funny and dismal fellow, tell me what makes a male combine the two?" Manda Te eyed the other a bit at that ... wondering how it was so easy for this Bluu thing to tell his mood. He shrugged slightly at that - not really sure he wanted to talk about it. Especially with a crazy one. "Family trouble, mostly," he muttered - then shrugged again as if to dismiss the subject. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o "Ah, family. Family means drama. It is why I do not have any, you see." Another shrug, and neatly plucking up a seed pod delicately between his teeth, he arranged it amongst the other adornments to his satisfaction, apparently incapable of giving Te his full attention. "You should pick a direction, Te...one wandering without direction will never get anywhere, you see." Manda Te snorted softly at that. "Hmph... what's -your- direction then, Mr. I Decorate Rocks for Fun?" he asked, plopping down to watch Bluu fiddled with said decorations. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o "Direction?" He crooned the word softly, "I don't need one...I'm not really here, you see...this isn't my existence." Bluu, after all, belonged to an ambiguous 'elsewhere'. Weaving a feather into the weave of things, he sighed quietly, "It's really rather tedious dealing with this one, if you must know." Manda "Uuuh...." was Te's brilliant response to -that-. "What do you mean, you're not really here? Besides that, how can you tell me to pick a direction when you don't even have one yourself?" Snorting softly, the red male tilted his head at that rock and then picked up some grass in his claws and slapped it into the design - a bit roughly, actually. He had no delicacy for art. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o "I do have a direction..." He replied easily, "Back where I come from...a higher road, a better pace and children...I think I have children." He grinned widely, the smile looking almost impossible on his dark face. "but not here, no family, no nothings...I make life prettier..." Scowling when the other did that, he batted a paw at the red lion. "MESS!" He hissed, "NOT TO DO THAT!" Manda Te actually jumped back a little at that - startled by the sudden violence of the other. But he didn't stay back for long, stepping closer again and planting his butt firmly on the ground. Crazy-Bluu wasn't going to scare him. "Why not? I'm tryin' to help you here," he pointed out, idly poking at the things that still remained on the ground. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o Bluu scowled deeply at the other, "You are not helping this at all. There is a PATTERN. Supposed to be pattern. Messed it all up, all up..." He made a mournful crooning sound and began to straighten the weave, sorrow painting his handsome features. "Te does not understand...how very sad for Te..." Manda Te frowned at that rock, just seeing a bunch of grass and crap on it. "Well, sorry I don't see your pattern. If there even is one," he grumbled, ears laying back a bit. o0 Sephiros Immortal 0o With that, Bluu turned his back to the other, focused intently on the rock, "Hmph...you are not looking hard enough, old chap...I would suggest finding yourself a direction." And tilting his nose up in the air in vague disdain, he went back to aligning things the way he thought they ought to be. Te's fleeting moment of interest had already passed. Manda Te just eyeballed the other for a moment or two and then picked up one particular small pebble and kind of ... tossed it at the rock-art before running off. Couldn't let Bluu get the last word after all ... ha!

Toph RP Log -Sometimes You Meet the Strangest People- Manda It had been quite some time now since Toph had left the lands of her birth. She'd felt rather useless there ... and wanted to get away from her family anyway. Now, she just mostly wandered... on and off taking to lying on the ground for hours at a time just to -listen- to the earth that all creatures walked upon. That was what the green hyena was doing at this very moment, in fact - laying flat on her belly with sightless eyes closed and head against the dirt. Seeing her from a distance, others might think her fainted ... or even dead. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko And this was how Isi first spotted the green hyena. Flopped on the ground, eyes closed and breath so gentle he couldn't spot the rise and fall of her chest... Naturally, the leopard's first instinct was to panic... He ran over and made a rather loud fuss right above the hyena's prone form, looking around for members of his group to help. And when he spotted none, he went to nose the green form.
"Hey! Hey! Are you alive?" Manda Toph winced at that fuss - having been listening intently to the earth. So when someone started yelling and carrying on RIGHT ABOVE HER she growled and popped up - one paw going right for his loud mouth to smack him. She could tell by clues of scent and sound that he was a leopard and larger than her but at the moment, the hyena didn't care. "Hey, shut it!! You're really -loud- you know!" Kitsune Mistress Nyoko And that smack hit his muzzle rather successfully, causing Isi to jump slightly and silence almost instantly. His eyes narrowed slightly, but he calmed down. The hyena didn't seem injured... But that only left him curious. Manda Toph rolled her eyes a bit - having 'felt' him jump backwards. Timid now, huh? "What'd you think you were doing anyway?" she demanded, taking a few steps toward him. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "I was making sure you weren't hurt. Or dead or something..." Isi said, huffing lightly and sitting down next to the green hyena. After a long moment of silence, he spoke again. "What were you doing?" Manda Toph snorted at that and sat down once she heard the other do so. "Listening," she replied shortly - tapping a paw against the ground. "The earth has a lot to say, if you actually listen to it." Kitsune Mistress Nyoko Isi paused for a long moment, letting silence drift between them as he took in her words. She was listening to the earth? That reminded him of how Aang would spend hours at a time just standing with his face in the wind... Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "Listening to the earth, huh? I have a good friend who listens to the wind a lot..." Manda Toph blinked. Listened to the wind? Well, -that- sounded familiar, somehow. She was on and off looking for others who could hear the earth ... but it didn't hurt to also keep an eye out for those who might fit in other clans. "Really?" she asked - seeming quite suddenly interested. "What's his name?" Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "Aang. He's actually helping me learn to listen to the wind as well. Says I'll make a great Sage when he gets back to his home," Isi said lightly, grinning and puffing up proudly. Manda ....... There was a looong moment of sort of stunned silence, and then Toph burst out, "-You- know -Aang-??" It had been years since she had heard any familiar names at all ... and now, to meet someone who actually was friends with one she had met in her own childhood... what the heeeellll, small world. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko Isi jumped slightly at the outburst before laughing. Small world indeed. It seemed like he'd just found a new member for the group! "Sure do! He's the leader of my group!" Manda "Your -group-?" Toph repeated, blinking some more. She hadn't known that Aang was gathering followers. Because... surely if there was a group, he was probably the leader of it. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "Yeah. It's kind of small, but we've got some new Air Nomads. He wants to make sure there's new Nomads before he heads back home," Isi explained lightly, trying not to laugh at the look on Toph's face. Manda "Hm... how very interesting," the female mused a bit - looking thoughtful for a moment. Then she laughed... something of a rare thing for Toph these days. "Somehow, I think I should go back with you so Aang can be as surprised as I was." Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "I'm sure he'd be happy to see someone who was born in his lands. Especially a friend," Isi replied, grinning and getting to his paws. "Just follow me. Our camp isn't too far from here." Manda Toph nodded at that, and got up as well, tail swishing from side to side a bit. "Heh ... sure, no problem," she replied - perking ears forward so she would be sure to 'see' where he was going. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "No doubt he'll be happy to see you. By the way... I'm Isi." It was a simply slip for him. Forgetting to offer his name. He normally got so caught up in talking that he completely forgot to say who he was. Manda "Ah ... I'm Toph," she replied - wondering if Aang had ever mentioned her to this group of his. But she supposed ... she would find that out soon, in any case. Kitsune Mistress Nyoko "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Toph." And that said, he started on his way towards where the group had settled for the night. No doubt Aang and Toph would have a lot to talk about... He got the feeling they'd met long before the young cheetah had left his home. Which meant they had a lot of catching up to do.
