A friend of Kyrin's was a friend to Maddox. James seemed pleasant. At Kyrin's teasing, Maddox gave only a sheepish chuckle, unable to deny but not wanting to admit to the comfort he found in his work. Each person had their own niche and Maddox was glad that his cousin understood that. Besides, he knew she meant no harm and generally didn't say the things she did to hurt someone.
The announcement that dinner was to be served soon set Maddox's stomach churning. He was unaware of it until now but he had skipped breakfast that morning. It was unhealthy. I must try harder to remember to eat properly. Turning his grey-blue eyes to Nori, Maddox just about agreed to the request from the younger man but Kyrin answered first. Before Maddox could object and say that he had been given orders by Jaydn to visit during the meeting, Kyrin had already left.
Maddox turned to look back once more at Nori and James who remained in the room. Realizing that it must be awkward that he was just standing there, Maddox sat in the closest chair. Attempting to be casual towards the two men who were practically strangers to him, Maddox tried at small talk, "Dinner smells delicious, Nori. I apologize for not introducing myself earlier, James. Have you been here for long?"

"Only this afternoon, but I've been in and out of Kyrin and Nori's presence a couple times. Sorry for any chaos or anything this might cause, just, showing up with no warning." Jamie more than knew what a mess strangers in a mafia owned building could cause. Maddox did seem, though, to be a nice person, not at all the kind who would flip out over such a thing. He didn't know about the other men, however. He was only, at this point in time, familiar with Kyrin and Nori. He knew of the rest, but had been denied the dubious pleasure of a conversation with the rest of the group Maddox had come from.
He turned his attentions to Nori. "Anything else I can do to help, Nori love?" The pet name slipped out unintended, and his face brightened a little as he realized what he had said.

Nori nodded happily to Maddox addressing his cooking, considering it was one of the few things he was proud of about himself. The burner was off, and the currry was still warm, so Nori was ready to start arranging plates. He turned around towards the cupboards as Jamie responded to Maddox, extending his arm up to plates that were just out of reach. He stopped mid-reach when he heard Jamie's voice call his name...and turned his face towards the opposite wall when he heard it followed by "love". It-It's just one of his mannerisms... But still, Nori didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea by the way his reactions were. Turning his face back to Jamie, Nori replied," It's okay! Thanks ..."

Maddox nodded an acknowledgement of James' apology with a smile. Hopefully Jaydn won't make a big deal of it. Perhaps James could be useful in what we do. Maddox thought it over quickly. He would have to talk to his brother, of course, but there wasn't any reason that James would be unable to do so. If he had been in consistent contact with Kyrin, then he must know who she is now and he seemed to bear her no ill will. Maddox trusted him.
Maddox watched the interaction between Nori and James, curious when the latter man gave a blush after saying the word 'love'. He doesnt seem British.. Nori seemed sheepish of the add-on to his name as well. The pieces clicked into place in Maddox's mind and he smiled a bit to himself. Maddox had no problem with the idea of it but now perhaps Jaydn would have his own reason to deny James a place.
Though he insisted he would be fine, Maddox realized that Nori was reaching for plates on a higher shelf. Immediately getting up, understanding without being told that Nori would need help, Maddox rushed over to bring the plates down, saying as he went, "Ah, if I could help please." Taking down a stack, he held them out to Nori with two hands. He added, more as a vocal note to himself, "We should have a step here to help."

Jamie couldn't bring himself to say anything else, after that embarrassment, so he watched the two with mild interest. He couldn't deny that he was watching Nori, rather shamelessly, but it was also becoming significantly more difficult to deny it to others. He wondered what the new onslaught of men he had seen in the building would make of that, or if they would even find him to be any of their concern. He visualized the overwhelming urge to wrap his arms around Nori, if only for the knowledge that Nori would hold him, at least, in his head. As if to comfort himself, Jamie wrapped his own skinny arms around himself. There were a great deal of things the young man could live with, could get through, but an unrequited crush was always difficult, and his innate defense mechanism of running the hell away was dampered by the unfortunate truth that he had no idea where he was, in relation to this building and he wasn't yet ready to leave.

Atfer the introductions, Jaydn squared away the differences between the twins. So Caiden is the one with the eyebrow piercing. Watching the brothers after they shook hands, his observant eyes saw how the one called Riley seemed to look at his brother to take the lead. Of course they can‘t both lead, that would cause conflict. To their response, Jaydn nodded, ”I see. There is going to be some desk work here and there but I‘ll keep your opinion of it in mind. You seem to like the city very much. I‘ve noticed that it's very diverse in the people who live here. Have you picked up or felt the need to learn another language?” As Jaydn spoke, both twins took a seat. Caiden thought on this question for a moment, taking in Jaydn‘s words, before responding simply, ”We know Spanish.” Jaydn raised an eyebrow in seemingly innocent curiosity, ”Is that all?” Riley resisted the urge to pretend to know more to lead Jaydn on. The two nodded in response to this question. ”Okay.” It was as Kyrin had said in their file but Jaydn wanted to ask once more to be sure that their answers lined up correctly with the information they gave before. ”Is there anything you are not willing to do?” Caiden looked thoughtful for a moment, Such a vague question..Without another second of hesitation, Riley spoke, his voice was slightly softer than Caiden‘s but still held confidence. He voiced the concern that Caiden had found with Jaydn‘s question, ”Such as?” ”Would you be greatly opposed to killing someone?” Riley spoke again, ”There are certain situations that we would be obligated to say yes, but otherwise no.” Jaydn nodded. They were not afraid to but they had their own morals they would stand by. To Jaydn, this was a good thing. They would think for themselves, important since this would be an occupation in which there was no one to baby sit them. He wondered, how much information would they allow him? ”Your exceptions?” ”Let‘s just say we fight honorably.” Caiden said, shifting in his seat. He looked momentarily over at Riley, as if participating in a silent conversation before looking back to Jaydn. Seeing the glance, Jaydn wondered what the brothers thought. He hoped they weren‘t interpreting that he may ask them to go against the other. As interesting as it could be, it would, in the long run, not be beneficial to the group. Returning once more to the list of questions he had organized in his head, he asked, ”Where are you employed now? A smile lit Caiden‘s face, ”We‘re self employed.” At the smile Jaydn felt himself become slightly suspicious, asking, ”Doing…?” Caiden noticed the slight change in Jaydn‘s tone and shrugged, “Nothing in particular. We‘re between jobs as of current.” ”Hmm.. Do you plan on continuing your self-employment if you were to work for us?” Riley spoke before Caiden had a chance to even think of his answer. Not taking particular care in choosing his words, Riley replied, ”If you are asking if we will be loyal to your company, we will be. Our self employment gives us the title of mercenary, but we can settle.” Hearing the word ‘mercenary’ gave Jaydn a feeling of both relief and suspicion. They would be willing to do what would be asked but they could be bought off. He would have to keep them under watch, not that he didn‘t intend to already, but more so now. ”The question of loyalty can‘t be simply asked and answered. It‘s something that I‘m going to have to see for myself.” ”Well sitting in an office answering questions cannot prove it.” Riley wanted a real test of his skill, not to sit and answer questions like he was doing testing back in school. Simple questions about one's self were not entertaining for him in the least. Caiden glanced over at Riley when Riley spoke, but Riley didn‘t notice, all his attention was fixed on Jaydn. Jaydn responded fairly leveled but hinting at irritation, ”I‘m not questioning your loyalty at the moment.”I already know I can‘t trust you. Riley noticed this irritation and realized that it matched his own. This interview is testing our loyalty and our morals and we don‘t even have the job yet… Riley‘s voice was low as he controlled his tone. “Your words say differently.”At this Caiden shot him a look, Geez Riley, watch your tongue. Caiden knew that Riley only ever got bent out of shape when someone questioned his integrity.Riley noticed the look this time and he calmed slightly. Caiden was right, he needed to watch what he said. Jaydn found it interesting. They were an interesting pair of people. While not necessarily liking that Riley had just mouthed off at him, the Matsui did appreciate that he wasn‘t going to just take thing lying down. At least he wasn‘t trying to suck up to Jaydn. It seemed once more that the brothers spoke to each other silently. They appeared to rely on one another a good deal. ”Would you be opposed to working separately?” The twins took a long while to answer this. Caiden looked over at Riley and for a long while they sat, their hazel eyes locked. Riley twisted his hands together in the only display of nervousness he’d shown since they arrived. In contrast, Caiden seemed at ease. They looked at Jaydn and at the same moment they spoke. Having both come to a different conclusion, Riley’s answer of ‘yes’ collided with Caiden’s answer of ‘no’. After this they looked at one another. An expression of confusion appeared on their faces for an instant before they both composed themselves again. Their attention went back to Jaydn, seemingly curious as to what he would think of their apparent indecision. ”I see.” After that, the interview continued on for another half an hour with Riley not answering any other questions. He sat silently and listened to his brother’s answers, nodding in agreement to them. After the interview was over, Jaydn called in a few men to escort the twins off the premises and informed them that Kyrin would be in contact. Once the twins were gone, Miles, Levi, and Jaydn were the only ones in the room.

Levi assessed the interview with a seriousness that betrayed his usual demeanor. When needed, he could be cold, calculating, and composed to appear his station. He just preferred not to be. But, he neded to know if the twins were a threat, which, now, Levi didn't think they were. As soon as they were gone, however, and he was around people who knew him well, he put both hands on the sides of the chair he sat in and kicked his legs, staring around the room and awaiting any further instructions, vaguely wondering if those instructions would leave him time to hunt down a bite to eat. Perfectly switched back to hyperactive, occasionally irritating Levi Erik Donnelly.

Kyrin made her way slowly to the floor that she would find Jaydn on. She was in no real hurry, and the food wouldn't get cold. Even in her boots, she made little noise as she walked across the carpet that led to the elevators. The carpet was ornate, with winding sprials of color here and there. Kyrin personally didn't favor it, but then again, she didn't really look down often enough to care. When she reached Jaydn's floor she noticed that the twins were being escorted out. She called to them a hello, which they both returned with a smile, and then she bid them a farewell as they disappeared into a different elevator. Jaydn's office wasn't too far from where she was when she stopped in the hall. In her mind she prepared herself for all the things she knew he would say. Why did you hang up on me? He would likely start with that, and then he would go on about Jamie being in the building and Kyrin wouldn't rest until she convinced him to at least try to open his eyes to the possibility that Jamie could be of use to them. Instead of knocking on his office door, Kryin simply opened it and allowed herself entry. She looked at Levi, who seemed to be enjoying himself and smiled, "Hello Levi." And then glanced at Miles and greeted him as well. After that she sat in one of the armed chairs around Jaydn's desk, waiting for him to speak.

Jaydn spent a quick moment thinking to himself, recapping briefly the meeting he had just had. He was in a contemplative state, eyes lowered to stare unseeing at the desk he sat at and his hands folded in front of him. A small sigh escaped from him before he broke from his reverie, meeting eyes with the pair of men who sat in front of him. He made to speak when his office door opened only minutes after it had closed behind the twins.
Irked slightly by the suddenness of the arrival, Jaydn only didn't snap at the person who entered when he realized who it was. I suppose better late than never. "Hello Kyrin."
Though there were matters that Jaydn wanted to speak to Kyrin about concerning the twins and other things, later when they were on their own would be a much better time for that.
Once his cousin made herself comfortable in her seat, Jaydn pressed on. As if the entrance had not interrupted his train of thought, he asked of the men in front of him, "What do you think?" This was typical of Jaydn. Whoever it was who would accompany the mafia leader in the process of adding members to their group was also entitled to an opinion of those potential members. However, Jaydn wanted to know their thoughts. He felt that it brought him not closer to his members but rather closer to knowing who they were inside and how they thought. What they said never had the impact to sway him in his decision as he usually would have already made up his mind on whatever the issue would be but even so, Jaydn was curious.

"I don't personally see anything to count against them. Yet." The last word was a bit of an added sidenote. "But they'd probably have to work separately at least once, and I don't know, one of them seemed a tad against that. I'd give'em a chance." Levi's Irish brogue showed just a little when he spoke, in the words he chose, if he didn't have to hide it he didn't bother. He liked that Jadyn asked their opinions, even if he knew that sometimes the leader didn't count Levi amongst his favorites, especially when the Irishman could be hyper, irritating, love giving others a bad time. Smartly, perhaps, for him, Levi shut up and looked to Kyrin and Miles for their assessment of the newcomers.

Miles listened to the entirety of the interview patiently staring at the desk in front of him. The fact that one of them had mentioned "fighting honorably" was a let down. In the mafia business, something like that wasn't quite possible. By the end of it, he made up his mind that he personally really didn't like them very much, but that was probably not what Jaydn wanted to hear at the moment. Besides, his opinions couldn't be validated yet. He just hoped that Jaydn wouldn't make him hang around with these kids for too long. Miles sighed and leaned forward onto the large wooden desk. "First off, the fact that they are so close is a given, but it also presents an obvious problem. Jaydn, You've probably seen this type before; The ones who recruit in pairs. Friends, brothers, or whatever the pair is, if their feelings get in the way of their work, then they're useless. However, If they can make up for this weakness in terms of teamwork then I don't have any say against it." Miles brushed a hand through his hair before continuing. "I just don't want them getting in the way of my men too much, considering that they're new. My only request is to start them off small or at least have someone show them the ropes first." Preferably as far away from him as possible.

Taking in the other men's thoughts, Jaydn sat silent for a moment once again. The corner of his lips curved into a slight smile as he met eyes with Miles. "And who better to show them than you, Miles." A slight pause before Jaydn continued, "Of course I'll be sending them off first to gather a more direct assessment of their skills and you won't be taking the both of them. I do want to see them on their own." The smirk on Jaydn's face was a telltale sign that he was, at the moment, not serious of that decision.
The cogs of the leader's mind were turning steadily. He still had many questions, these of the nature that couldn't be asked. Jaydn knew he was a rather impossible person to work with, being that his expectations and standard were often so high but the fact that his men did as he asked proved that they were capable of what he wanted of them and perhaps more. Would these twins accept such demands from him? That was what Jaydn was most concerned with discovering.
Turning now to address Levi, Jaydn asked, "And you Levi? Where do you suppose they would fit best? With your department?" Honestly, Jaydn hadn't finalized in his mind where he would be placing the twins. Even the small joke with Miles could hold some truth to it. What he did know was that, if he were to accept them, they would begin working individually from each other. Jaydn simply wanted to keep the chemistry of his mafia within a positive degree and so he had to mull over where each of them went. For now, they could belong to any one of the branches.

"Well boss, t'be painfully honest, I'd like to see what they can do first. But I'd be more'en willing to give'em a chance working with me." Truth be told, Levi was a little lonely working on his own in infiltrations, but it was usually a one man job. He'd give anyone a chance, though, if only for the company it meant. Levi knew what kind of a boss Jadyn could be, so if he sent the twins, even one of them, to work with Levi, he knew they would be able to do as was required of them. But to be the kind of person who could become someone else, or go completely invisible at the drop of a hat, that wasn't something that could be taught. Levi knew this. He had worked with other partners before, but there was a very good reason this was in the past tense. His green eyes washed over dark, deep in thought.

As Jaydn lay down his decision, Miles gave him a look of disbelief. He's smiling. He's enjoying this. He gave an indistinct sigh and leaned back into his chair. Babysitting was the last thing he wanted to do. Miles made a mental note to let everyone in his department feel his indirect irritation about this. He wouldn't be given both, so that means one of them? Fine, but he'll have to be up to par with my pace. I won't put up with anything less. Jaydn must have suspected this. "Alright then." The smile came back to his face (with a bit of sadism hidden beneath it) and listened to Levi's reply.

Nori smiled up at Maddox and carefully took the plates from his hands and placed them beside the stove. "Thank you!" He added. He was always amazed by the contrast of Maddox and Jaydn as brothers. Actually, having a step in the kitchen wasn't such a bad idea. It would keep Nori from climbing all over the counters to reach shelves anyways. He glanced over to Jamie and quickly turned away when he saw that Jamie was staring at him. He turned his attention back to the pot of curry. "Well, since you guys are the first here, would you like to have some first?" He wasn't giving them much choice, considering he was already scooping some rice onto a plate with it. He turned around to give one serving and a utensil to Maddox, before presenting a plateful to Jamie as well. Nori hoped that even if Jamie didn't eat much, he'd make an exception for his cooking.
