(( AW! I want a Kero doll... ))

"GET OFFA ME!" Kero flew up into the air waving his hand angrily. He crossed his arms. "OK, yeah, I woke up and... they weren't there anymore." He looked away. "I can feel them around town. They're not active yet, so I can't pinpoint-" He froze.
Tim asked, "Wha-"
"Shh!" Kero said. He closed his eyes and a blue aura surrounded him. Tim felt it more than saw it. After a few moments he opened his eyes again, an excited fire in his eyes. "Explanations will have to wait. We've got a Card to capture, Card Captors."
He flew to the door, then stopped and flew back. "Oh yeah. You need the tools of the trade, don't you?"
He closed his eyes again, and that same aura surrounded him. On the table appeared a thick red book with circle designs and chains. Next to it appeared a small red circle with a cross in the center attached to a chain.
"That's yours, Timmy." Kero said with satisfaction. "Not bad if I do say so myself."
Tim picked it up and the hairs on the back of his neck stood up. The thing resonated with him on a base level. "What is it?" He asked, not taking his eyes off it.
"Wait a minute, I'm getting Bree's." He replied.

(( You didn't tell me what yours looked like in its hidden form. So... just make it up now. ))

((The hidden form? I described the hidden form, I haven't described the staff form))
Bree stared at her book and key. She picked up the key, and held it in her hand. She grimaced when she saw it was a daisy. Hey, it wasn't a rose. A rose would've been cheesy. She looked at Kero. "So, we have to collect these cards for you." She paused. "What's the catch?"

(( Oh sorry. I thought you were describing the staff form there. ))

Kero waited for an unnoticeable beat and smiled. "No catch. Except the occasional perilous fights, but you can deal with that. Like my old master used to say: 'Everything will definitely be all right!'" He flew over to the door and it opened on its own. "Come on then! Let's go, before it hides again!"
Tim looked over at Bree, a hesitant smile on his face. "Well... should we go? I don't think he's in an explaining mood right now."

She grinned at him, slipping the chain onto her wrist. "I don't think we have a choice." She said, picking up the book. "But the only way to learn now is to follow." She dashed after Kero, still grinning.

"Wait up!" He said, grinning. He slipped the chain around his neck and dashed out, slamming the door shut behind him.
Kero flew slightly in front of them at a fast pace. Without turning around he said, "I can't tell exactly what Card it is yet. Something fast, something aggressive, something of moderate strength. I can guess what it is but I don't know for sure yet."
Finally Kero stopped in front of the supermarket. The only light came from the few lamps that lined the street. No one was around; San Tomeda wasn't much for 24-hour businesses. "It's close." Kero said softly. "I don't think it knows we're here yet."
"You speak like it's alive." Tim said, whispering.
Kero turned, smiling grimly. "Oh it's very much alive."
All of the sudden a pealing sound rang out and a pinkish bolt of light smashed out of the brick ceiling and into the night air, quickly disappearing.
Tim jumped in surprise.
"Target practice, I think." Kero said mildly. "OK, definitely SHOT. This'll be an interesting first night."
He turned back to Tim and Bree. "Now for your 'weapons.' Take out your Keys."
Tim fumbled with his necklace and took it out, holding it in his open hand.

"Well that is an odd question. But I can say that if you feel like something is going to happen it will," Ally smiled over at Steven, "Now lets get back to work." She started to write in her notebook again then stopped again after a few seconds, and she leaned over and gave Steven a light kiss on the cheek. "So, do you want to read the first paragraph, or should I?"

Later that evening, Ally and Steven were packing up their work when Ally froze in place. She stared off into space for a few seconds, then fell forward.

Steven's face was flushed red a little even after the little kiss was over. He was tempted to ask her about it, but decided to wait until he had composed himself a bit more. Not one to get flustered easily, it irritate him that he was getting worked up about it.
Ally stumbled a little as the two of them were packing, and Steven reacted quickly and rushed forward to support her. "Ally? Ally! Are you all right?" he asked her.

(( @ Grianne: Watch how far you take your 'magical-ness'. I don't mind if you have a bit of intuition on things, because who knows, maybe being around a magician for a while does tune you into some sense things. And I also don't mind that you can see ghosts, since Toya could do that in the series. But you picked to be a normal person, and in this series, magic is something you're born with, not a skill you can learn. I'm not real sure what you're doing right now, but just keep that in mind. ))

((Sorry, sorry, I just figured with SHOT being active and the keys and what not, that Ally just had a sensory overload since all she has really felt before were "spirits". I can change the post if you want.))
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:30 pm

(( Mm.... I guess that's fine since you've already started. There must be some nuances to magic that the series didn't go into. Most people can't sense or do any magic, but since Toya could sense things, there must be SOME kind of half-magic. Just don't start chanting spells 3nodding ))

((Don't worry I will leave the spell casting to Straken 3nodding ))

Bree slipped the chain off her wrist, and looked at Kero. She stared at where the pink bolt had gone, and then at Kero again. She knew that keys could be used as a weapon at close range, but how were they supposed to get close to THAT? She felt a sense of foreboding... it might have been the cards... or it might have been the fact that she had snuck out of the house to go gallivanting with some boy that her father didn't know. Not that anyone checked her room, because she was a good girl, who watched after her little brothers and did her homework. Blah.

"OK," Kero whispered. "The moment you activate them, it'll know we're here, so we have to act fast." Another pink bolt shot at an angle out of the roof. "Now, hold them out in your hands and say this spell all at once after me. Go one at a time. 'Key which-"
"What, that's it?" Tim interrupted. "We just say some words?"
Kero glowered at him. "Yes. The magic will take hold with the spell words. Now don't interrupt!
"Eh hem,"
he started again, "'Key which hides the power of the Stars, show your true form before me. I'- say your name- 'command you under our sacred contract. Release."
Tim held the Key out. "And this'll do... what? Exactly?"
"Something super cool, trust me."

Tim took a deep breath, held the Key firmly out and began reciting. "Key which hides the power of the Stars." Wind swirled around him, and a golden circle appeared on the ground below him, etched with Chinese letters and calculations, along with pictures of a star, moon, and sun. Tim found that the words came easily to him, as if they had been there all along, waiting for him to start. "Show your true form before me." The necklace floated above his hands. "I, Tim, command you under our sacred contract." He spread his arms. "RELEASE!" The wind picked up, flapping Tim's shirt and hair, and the Key spun rapidly around. Then suddenly it grew, longer and longer until it became up to Tim's neck. The whole thing was a bright red, with a long black line stretching the whole length. The top spread out to a cross shape, the black line following all the way to the top.
Tim grabbed the staff from the air and the circle abruptly disappeared. He could feel power in the thing, power like he'd never felt before. This must be what Magic felt like. And it felt right.
Kero turned to Bree, a note of urgency in his voice. "Now you, quickly! It has to know we're here now!" As if in confirmation, a shot came through the wall, missing the trio by about ten feet.

(( This was my favorite part in any episode ^^. It always made me mad when they would skip it. ))

(( meganargetlam's account got hacked crying . So while she waits for her acceptance letter back into the guild, she sent me her post via PM. Here it is: ))

Bree took a deep breath, holding the key out in front of her.
"Key which hides the power of the Stars, show your true form before me. I Bree command you under our sacred contract. Release!" She said, just barely loud enough for it to work. The key spun in her hand, then extended. The wires thickened until the staff was about three inches thick. The staff grew to about two feet, then the daisy turned into a lone sakura blossom. The bottom rounded off, and turned an opaque pink. As this happened her hair flew around her head, slapping at her head. The whole experience was... odd.
She gripped the staff with both hands, and looked at it. She looked at the card, and took a deep breath.

Ally opened her eyes shortly there-after. "I am fine. I just felt a little light headed for a second. It is nothing to worry about, really," she said as she stood back up. She packing her book bag and was about to head home when she was distracted by one of the artifacts on the wall. "Isn't that the Knife you use to do your magic?" she asked as she looked closer, "I have never actually had a good look at it."
Ally looked at the ornamental knife, which was placed within a glass show case. "It really is quite beautiful. What country is it from anyway?"
