"We were!" Twilla agreed. Her feathers had fluffed under the tension that she could feel in the air, but once his fervor returned, the tension seemed to dissapate and she smoothed her glossy black feathers.
She launched into the air, but only after Auze had time to settle in her pack. "Too bad we don't have the nose of a waral or skurri, eh, Auze?"
"I'w a've y'know there ain' nothin' wron' with my nose!" The mus challenged, but the jaunting between the two was only in good natured jest. It seemed to lighten the mood for the mus slightly.
"I dunno, whadda you say, Jester?" Twilla asked for the male's imput and winked coyly. "Think mister mus can do it, himself?"

Following after Twilla, much more comfortable in his own feathers. "I don't know Twilla, I've heard skurri are pretty good sniffers." Jester mocked slightly, giving this friendly arguing a shot.
He smiled at the wink Twilla shot him, and enjoyed the breeze she gave off as she flapped just above him.

Twilla seemed pleased that he was playing along. While sometimes their bickering was true, it made the mus feelmore comfortable.
He looked flabbergasted that the bard would actually agree.
"WHA? Auze good! See? Smell... Smell..." His nose and whiskers twitched wildly as he tried to prove a point. "Smellllllll... Nuts! Pecca-nuts."
"Pecan nuts? Well... Hnn... Lets go get 'em!"

Jester smiled at the bickering and glad to be a part of it. It was an odd way to bond, but he had never seen the Mus so attentive before. He couldn't help but chuckle at the tiny companions twitching nose, it amused him to no end.
"Pecan nuts? I've never heard of such a thing. What do they taste like?" Jester questioned.

"Like... Godd! Good, good, good." The mus replied as Twilla made her decent.
"They are fairly good, but I guess it depens on your taste, as well." The gatherer told him, then grew silent as she made her awkward hopskip landing. Several nuts had fallen to the floor, as if they were some great shower from the sky.
Auze immediately leapt from her pack and began to fetch the nuts, moving them one at a time to Twilla. Twilla, on the other talon, was busy picking them up with her Will and dropping them into the bag.

Following the shadow's decent Jester came to a landing on another low lying branch. Watching very carefully as Auze picked them up one at a time, while Twilla moved 3 at a time with her will.
Jester was impressed by Twilla's use of her will so deftly. He knew he had it but hadn't found anything pertinent to use it for. Keeping one eye open all around them, making sure that nothing was intruding on the gathering.

Twilla was satisfied once the entire bag was fukl to the brim with her berries and her nuts. Then, and only then, did Auze clambor back up into her pack. She grabbed another nut from the earth and tossed it, using her Will, towards Jester.
"Catch!" She called, then, after stumbling a few paces, she lifted into the air.

Jester glanced down at just the right moment to see the nut hurling towards his head. Opening his beak wide he caught it with little trouble. Trying to bite down on it, "Ow! Oh right the shell." Jester guessed that was the reason it was so difficult to taste.
Sticking the nut under a talon he prodded at it till the shell peeled back, delicately picking out the tender nut with in. "Mmmm.." he savored the flavor. Twilla had introduced him to two delicious new things today.
"I think I would put on weight if I come with you gathering too often Twilla." Jester joked as he nibbled at the last of the pecan.

"Just letting you taste, today. Later on, you won't be so fortunate." She joked as she landed beside him, but at an appropriate distance. "I take it it was good?" She asked in earnest, while searching his expression and body language for his opinion.
"W'gotta get t'th' drop... Place." Auze reminded Twilla in a hushed voice. She nodded, but remaind still and quiet.

Jester nodded and leaned a bit towards Twila, "It was delicious! And the company was wonderful too!" he truly enjoyed accompanying Twilla.
Dropping the shell of the now fully eaten pecan off the branch, Jester watched it go for a moment before turning back to Twilla. "Shall we be off then? To the drop-thing." Jester wasn't really sure exactly what it was but expected they should be moving along rather then waiting.

"Oh! Yes! To the drop point. It is a platform in Deep Woods." She told him as she took wing yet again. She flew at an easy, steady pace and enjoyed the breeze that ruffled through her black, grey, and blue feathers.
While she flew, she searched mer mind for some idle topic to chit-chat about. As always, she hated silence. Her thoughts drifted to Jester's earlier proposition. He wanted to speak with her...
Alone.
Her heart was pounding and she was sure that it had skipped a beat as she had thought that one word. Why was she so nervous? It was completely out of her nature to be so full of anxiety around other sentinels.

Taking wing after her, "A platform." Jester repeated her.
As he followed her almost with out realizing where he was going, his mind was other places at the moment. How did he want to talk to her, when would he get to, would he even have the guts to ask her? So many questions buzzing around in his head that he nearly flew past her a few times but always fell back behind her.
"Er..sorry, I wasn't paying attention."

"S'alright!" Twilla reassured him as she landed on a wide platform that some talented crafters must have made ages ago. "We're here... All I have to do is drop it off. Oh, hey, Crowwing!" She greeted a fellow gatherer, and then another. Several sentinels were busy dropping off food, others were busy sorting it out.
She used her Will to empty her bag ino the piles. It took a few minutes to rid it of all of it's contents, save for the grey mus.
Once done, she turned back to Jester and her heart fluttered quickly.
"Well... Now we can drop Auze off at the Willow..."

Jester gulped at his perch, he had distracted himself watching Twilla and the other gatherers dumping and sorting the lovely morsels of delicious. He snickered a bit as the Mus peeked his nose out once. Then snapping back to attention when Twilla addressed him.
"Oh...yes, the willow." Jester said it almost whimsically as if it were some mythical place. Spreading his wings, knowing the basic direction back towards it. Looking back to see if Twilla would follow, then lead.

Twilla did follow and did take lead. She felt anxiety as she led her friend back to the Willow. It was a bit of a flight, but it seemed to go quickly, as her mind was in another place. She couldn't help but to feel nervous as she landed on the shifting limbs of her beloved willow tree.
Auze was in no mood to be left behind and refused to come out of the pack.
"No!" The mus challenged as he dug his claws into the innards of her dark pack. "I'd'wanna, wanna stay wi' Twilla!"
"We won't be gone long!" Twilla promised and scooped the mus up using her Will. He struggled, but ultimately could not keep his grip. She sat him down on the limb and, ever so carefully, preened a fluff of fur on his head.
