Hm...My favorite historical person has to be Henry IV of France. I thought that it was interesting that he converted to Catholicism to rule France. Now that is a man that I would like to date! County before religion. Fance was so worth that mass!

I personally think he would've won World War II if he hadn't invaded Russia and just kept at the British. Their RAF was exhausted when the Germans gave up. They could have won if they kept going another month. Thankfully, they didn't.

If the Germans didn't go to war with Russia AND America then they'ld have beaten Britain, in fact a simple land invasion would have done it by about 1942.
Nuh-uh, 'cause Britain had soldiers on ROLLER-SKATES!

Sure you're not thinking of Paris and their rollerblading policemen?
Nope. London had Home Guardsmen on roller skates, so that they could get to the paratroopers faster. I saw a picture once of a drill, where two guardsmen on skates had tackled another in a Nazi uniform, and pried his gun out of his hands.
If you look in history the England was about to giveup to the Germans in the Battle of Britain, but Hitler started to bomb there towns because England started to bomb there citys. Also the Germans where working on a tank that could go in water and go on land. And I dont think the Guardsmen on roller skates can out run the MG 42 that can fire 20 rounds per second. So the Germans wouldnt just use paratroops. Another thing is, the Germans where not called Nazis. The Nazi PARTY was just the party that ruled Germany. The German Wehrmacht didnt fight for Hitler or the Nazi party, but for the Fatherland.

Favorite person..hn..I'm a bit torn I do believe...I do like Lord Liu Bei from the Three Kingdoms area, but I'm also a huge fan of Lieutenant Robert Maynard, responsible for the death of the notorious Black Beard.

It was difficult to choose just one. I have to go with DaVinci. One of the most famous artists of all time, and a brilliant inventor besides. I need to find some research time and learn more about him.

Ooh, Da Vinci. Interesting and unique choice! You hear about his art all the time, I am curious about his job as an inventor too, he had some really interesting designs and ideas. biggrin

I'd have to agree with you there, although he wasn't the one to fire the killing shot.

1. I hope I don't have to go into a lecture about how Henry VIII didn't kill all of his wives, only two.

2. Re: girls ability to fight - For some reason, the biggest argument anyone could come up with was "women are so emotional, they couldn't possibly be able to handle the trauma of battle!"
But look at how many men came back from war with some form or other of PTSS.

3. Hizuka, if you like Joan of Arc, and you're interested in Cesare Borgia, then read up on his sister, Lucrezia Borgia. She was a woman of power in her own right.

I would have to say that my favorite historical person wold have to be. Robert E. Lee.
No I'm not a member of the KKK or anything, and I think that slavery was and racism is a stain on American history, but Lee was a brilliant military tactician, and even after Gettysburg he held against the Union army of the Potomac for another two and a half years.

Im portuguese which only fuels my passion more for Vasco Da Gama.

For any1 who doesnt know he is the portuguese captain who found a nautic route. Uf u read about his trips in the amazing book " Lusiads" ull se this man's bravery. him and his crew trekked dangerous coasts, faced terrible storms, and still had time to fight muslims. In the end like we all know he found the riches of India for Portugal.

In my opnion i admire all the captains during the age of dicovery for their courge of going into the unknown

This is a tough one...having Korean heritage, I would have to say Queen Sondok of Silla. Not much is written about her, but she built a major observatory in Korea(the first in the Far East) and helped to establish Buddhism there. She also made major alliances with Tang China during her reign and it is mentioned in legends that she had the ability to predict the future.

hmmmm so many to choose from but I am going to say Genhgis Khan because he was born into such a poor warring world and he wasnt born a noble of a tribe or anything and yet he acheived such greatness, plus I would have loved to have led a life like him riding a horse with my bow and arrow looting towns getting all the women and gold, sigh that would have been so cool mrgreen either him or me once I learn how to take over the world stare
