"Its just i've been wary of blackbirds since I found one covered in maggots on a patrol with Moonstar and Silvershiver when he was an apprentice. It was before the gathering and I think it was a messege from StarClan that something bad was gonna hapen..." He meowed, then licked Spottedhearts ear. "I'm fine."

"Okay," Spottedheart nodded, understanding now. "Let's just continue to the burnt oak." She flicked her tail and continued walking.

Foxtrot smiled and folowed after, glancing back as the blackbird cawed and flew off. He pricked his ears one more and opened his mouth slightly. He stopped whan he heard a rustling of grass. Snake. He sprang at it, his claws digging deep into its skull and back. He unlatched it from his paws and picked it up. He darted back to Spottedheart and covered it in earth.

Spottedheart smiled and continued her way to the oak. From there she heard a bird cawing. Before it had time to caw again, she had pounced on it. She dropped the dead creature on the ground in front of her and noticed that it was a blackbird. She quickly scattered dirt over it, unsure whether or not Foxtrot noticed.

Foxtrot had heard the caw and had looked back in the direction of the other bird and sighed. "I think they're bad luck now, thats all..." He meowed as he stared back. Luckily, spottedheart had covered the blackbird by the time he looked back.

"Well I don't believe in luck," Spottedheart replied. "We already caught three pieces of prey." She tried to scent for more prey, but nothing came.

Foxtrot nodded and smiled. He was just wary and still unsure about those featherbags since what Larksparrow did. "Hrm? Three?" He meowed blinking. She must have caught something while he was tailking. "What'd you catch?" He meowed, begining to pad onward towards the oak.

"I caught a frog and that blackbird just now and you caught a snake," Spottedheart said, then muttered, "Mousebrain..." She listened for the sound of prey, but could hear nothing. She wasn't able to smell anything either "Can you scent anything?" she asked Foxtrot.

Foxtrot felt a shiver run down his spine. Then, he barely picked up Spottedhearts comment. His ears twitched and he looked down. He knew those things were bad luck. Now she was insulting him. He blinked then opened his mouth to take in scents. "Only you and I," He meowd dryly. "Theres no more prey in this area. Lets just keep going."
((I thought she didnt want him to know about the blackbird... XD))

((You just found a hole in my post. -_o Well... let's just say Spottedheart isn't as smart as a lot of cats. xD ))
"Alright." Spottedheart turned and walked off in a direction. She kept to the shadows and tried to scent for prey, but found nothing. "Well this is boring," she said after a while of not finding anything. Then she joked, "Maybe those birds really are bad luck."

((XD))
Foxtrot snorted and replied jokingly, "Told ya!" Helooked around. It was odd. There was normally prey around here. What could be wrong? "Hmm....This is odd though. Theres always prey around here. Hey, look! The burnt oak! Lets see if theres anything up there."

Spottedheart twitched her ears; she didn't like being wrong. She ran to the oak and started to climb, carefully searching for prey. She was on a thin branch when she saw a bird on branch higher. She got ready to jump up to it and catch the bird, when she heard a crack! She wasn't quick enough and fell. "Oww..."

Foxtrot followed more slowly, but his insides churned when she began to climb the tree. "Spotteheart!" He yelled when she fell and was instantly at her side. "Will you be okay?" He meowed, nuzzling her gently. He hoped nothing serious had happened.

"I think so..." Spottedheart replied as she slowly stood up. Her body ached, but nothing felt broken. "Damn bird." She could still see the thing up in the tree, looking down as if mocking her.

Foxtrot sighed releif, then looked up at the bird growling. "I'm wondering why theres a bunch of birds all of a suudden, and the frogs and snakes are gone..." Foxtrot rasied his nose to smell the air and gave a small purr of satisfaction. another snake. He slipped towards the tall grass, quickly darting in, sinking his teeth through its neck, then carried it back.
