Aubrey giggled at the Dude, smiling a pleased smile. "Well, I hope you enjoy it!"

She returned Ambrose''s handshake. "I''m glad you like it. To be honest I was kind of shooting in the dark, I really have never fenced before, but it certainly looks interesting.

Turning back to the dude. "Yes, you''ll be receiving a $5000 check when the experiment is completed. Target window is about two weeks, but you know, if something comes up it might be a bit longer. But we cover all other expensives, including room and board, food, and of course, your care packages." She winked again. "If you''ll just following me to meet Dr. Moreau, I''ll get the paperwork in order for you, and Moreau can see to Ambrose. I think its time for another injection for you, Mr. Ambrose."

"Okey" - the Dude said simply, still smiling wide. Amen for the care packages.

"Aaah, alright" Ambrose nodded. He had been wondering about followup shots, as the study indicated, since he hadn't gotten anymore in the week and a half just about he had been there thus far. He smiled at the mention of the check. "Longer than two weeks..?" He hesitated. He didn't remember any mention of that. "I mean, I do need to get back by the start of the school year" He chuckled sheepishly - that was a long way coming... but still.

Aubrey motioned them towards the elevator. "Well, Mr. Ambrose, we'll certainly do our best, thats thats a way off, yes? Anyway, better to take a semester off than have some nasty side-effect, right? We don't want to let you leave until we're 110% sure you're in better-than-perfect health. The safety and comfort of our patients is very important to us, as you can tell. We feel if you're willing to give up your precious time for us, we should be as accomodating as possible."

Aubrey smiled and told the elevator 'Floor 3."

Once they arriveed, she led Ambrose and the Dude to one of the exam rooms. She went over to a filing cabinent and pulled out from paper work at the same time, she pulled out her celphone/radio and informed the doctor that Ambrose was ready.

She looked over the forms, which was a rather thick stack of paper, and placed them in a folder and labeled it "Sean 'the Dude' Carroll."

She stepped over to him, "No, this whole first part is describing our policies on confidentiality. Basically, you don't tell anyone what we're doing here, and we never mention certain... items we're furnishing you. Ya know, its just that we're working on some very high-end stuff here, and corperate and scientific espionage is a, sadly, booming business. Moreau has spent his life on this work, and we're taking a lot a measure to protect that, if you have noticed."

She placed the papers in his hands, and flipped about seven pages in. "This is describing your study. Generally, we give you shots, you report back to us all and any noticable changes. Its all very vague, of course, as its susposed it. Its a double blind study and all. But of course, we're convinced its all safe. BUT, in the rare offchance something happens, Feral Labs will cover any and all medical expenses related to the study for the rest of your days, if it would come to that. How many "experimental" studies offer that, huh?"

She flipped to the end, "And here's where we talk about the five grand, and, of course, we need your John Handcock right here." Aubrey fished a pen from her bag and opened it, placing it in his hand."

The Dude tried his best to look carefully at the sheets she was flashing in front of his eyes, but was not too vigilant about it. Whatever nasty s**t they were injecting him with here - he NEEDED the money. Even if he might grow a monkey tail or something. It was this or "Do you want fries with that?". Which wasn't so bad, but he was stuck here anyway ... He did make sure that there was a mention of a $5000 in the area where he was signing.

"Here, lady. All done." - he gave her back the sheet with an unreadable squiggle that probably meant Sean Carroll.

Ambrose watched with his hands behind his back and was quiet for most of it.

"well... I Just really hope that there's nothing keeping me here that long. I really can't afford to lag in the fencing competitions..." he trailed, looking a bit nervous. "Would there be compensation other than health care if we are required to stay longer than the two weeks...?" He hated to ask, but I really did NOT like the notion of being stuck here.

His eyes caught on the name on the packet "Sean Carroll, eh?" Ambrose teased, his good mood keeping even the anxiety about being forced to stay here longer than he would have liked back at the new tidbit of amusement. "I had been wondering..."

Aubrey's eyes seemed to sparkle. "Thank you, Dude! Its a pleasure, to have you here for a bit longer. You certainly have character!" She took the folder hastily and locked it away in the filing cabinet.

Aubrey turned back to Ambrose. "well, I don't see how we could compensate you for missing fencing competitions. But we'd certainly be willing to work with you." She came over to him and put a friendly hand on his shoulder, giving an encouraging smile. "Anyway, you shouldn't be worrying about that! School isn't for at least another month, and you haven't even been here two weeks!"

"Yeah well, the pilot didn't sound too optimistic about the return time, so I figured, I'd spend my time contributing to the scientific progress." - he shrugged.

Then the Dude looked back at Ambrose and grinned: "Yep. Did you think it'd be Gaylord Focker or somethin'?"

Ambrose couldn't help but laugh, even trying to cover it. "Well... no" The laugh wouldn't easily suppress "But, well, I suppose by this point it was hard to picture you with a real name".

Ambrose shrugged and nodded a bit to Aubrey. He couldn't help but like her, and really was getting the impression that she was genuinely concerned with his priorities as well. "that's true, Dr. Lockheart" And suddenly he felt really almost guilty for bothering her with his timeschedule - he really was being paranoid! He had been conspiracy-planning far too much!

The elevator started moving as everyone saw it began to move down on the digital display beside it till it said 01 and opened. Out walked Moreau, dressed as normal in his labcoat and sweater. It had to be questioned if he had anything else to wear (though he did wear different color sweaters).

"Mr. Carrol, Mr. Maurlias, good to see you again. I hope Aubrey has been treating you well, she's the best assistant I could ask for." Moreau reached into his top pocket and pulled out a covered needle and vial.

"You understand it's time for another one of your injections. I hope you haven't seen any ill effects from the first?" Moreau was making an odvious attempt at sympathy though it came across more as interest than caring about Ambrose's well being.

Almost not waiting for his responses from everyone, as he was already talking and no one should speak while he was. "And Mr. Carroll, I understand you've decided to participate in our little study. We'll clear the forms and give you your first shot in a day or so." he smiled nicely.

As per normal, Aubrey seemed very... distracted one Moreau came in. She got really quiet, stepped away from Ambrose and went to stand at his side, ready to assist him in any way he asked for. "Thank you, Doctor," she responded to the compliment.

The Dude opened his mouth to correct Dr. Moreau about the proper pronunciation of his name but figured it'd be too much trouble. He didnt' really like the Doctor, expecially after he met Madison. There WAS something FREAKY about this man. Something freaky and deeply unsettling. But, being in the good mood that he was, the Dude still attempted small talk:

"Hey there, doctor. Yep. And I also met your lovely cousin a few days ago. Madison? Real pretty, has the hair just like you. She said something about you treating her deafness. Is that what the new drug's gonna be used for?"

Yep, he was playing with fire. But he liked it hot.

Ambrose rolled up his sleeve with only about a moment's hesitation. "I seem to be doing pretty well in general save for the side effects I mentioned to you on the beach the other day, which passed shortly afterwards. Save for an upset stomach - but it's quite possible that the spaghetti just didn't agree with me."

"All in all, I've been feeling quite... energized" He said with a smile. "And thank you again, both of you, for the fencing gear. I'll look forward to using those..." He hesitated for a moment "will those be mine to keep once I leave the Island as well? or are they just on "loan" while I'm here?"

"I am testing a variety of drugs here Mr. Carroll. I hope you were satisfied with what I delivered you, strait from Amsterdam, highest quality I could purchase. I had hoped that would, ease your tension here but I see it has not." Moreau made it odvious he had noted the sarcasm in the Dude's voice. "Perhaps the purchase was a mistake."

Moreau smiled as he inserted the vial into the needle for Ambrose. "And Mr. Maurlias, I am glad you haven't suffered any other ill effects. And yes, those were presents as were the goods I aquired for Mr. Carroll here that he seems so ungreatful for."

Moreau took hold of Ambrose's arm and inserted the needle, after a moment he pulled it out. "Thank you very much Mr. Maurlias, I believe Aubrey can show you and Mr. Carroll out."

"Well, considering I pulled your cousin out of the Atlantic a few days ago, I figured that was a token of your gratitude for saving her life, doctor. She didn't mentione that, huh? And I do much appreciate the present, don't get me wrong. Much obliged." - the Dude shot right back, beaming like a 100W bulb.
