remember back then they played 6 preseason games instead of 4 now and if they would have played 16 games the outcome might have been diffrent what do you guys think.

The third and maybe first preseason games are currently the only games where starters try pretty hard. The preseason is just to practice, get a feel for the game, and make cuts/activations/signings. The regular season and postseason are the only games that matter, and the Patriots have proved that. If injuries occurred in the preseason for the Patriots, that might have had a different outcome, but I doubt it.

o yeah i also noticed this Trade and Free Angentsy and Cap liment were diffrent back then and if the dolphin of 72 had did this with out this trade cap and free angents that another tally to dolphins of 72 derserve more respect

But that might even work to your advantage, because with the money NFL players earn today, it motivates them to play at the top level, in order to impress owners and GMs to get more money.

its all very confusing

I guess...

But anyways, the salary cap has at least kept us from seeing the same team win the Super Bowl each and every year.

witch is dose not help D:

Yes, it does.

It's not like the Yankees, who won 26 championships, and the nest team, the Cardinals, have like 10...

It's good for football. It keeps the games and league overall competitive.

But that's based on solely having a good a GM, coach, and talented scouts. When you raise a team to win the Super Bowl, yes they will age, but should be very competitive for at least five years.

Look at the Colts and Patriots. They have been the two best NFL teams of the last 7 years. They scout well. Belicheck and Dungy are great coaches. They make really great picks or trades in the Draft. All those things factor in. That's why the Patriots and Colts have been so successful, while the Browns and Falcons made terrible offseason moves which is why they've been ice cold as of recent.

it must be tough for the browns to have a 10-6 season and not make the playoffs

All I have to say is don't count your chickens before they've hatched. The Pats have gone undefeated in the regular season, but they are still two playoff games and 1 superbowl victory shy from perfection.

Come back to me with this thread after the Patriots have won it all, then we can talk.

Thank you! They still have to beat the best in the NFL to get there. You can't just hand them Super Bowl when they look as mortal as they have.

Yes, they should keep winning close and close games. I have yet to see their defense step up and play very well, as of recent.

Brady and Belicheck are in the playoffs, where they most likely will always dominate. They should be favorites.

Anyways, anyone else tired of Mercury Morris still running up his mouth on how the Dolphins were way better?

I know it will be a really close game, because the Jaguars match up very well against the Patriots with two power runners, a QB that makes little mistakes, a good secondary, and a good defensive line. I just don't see them beating the 16-0 Patriots, when they are facing Brady and Belichick, the two most playoff ready guys of this decade.

But 32 less touchdowns... confused

Anyways, I'm not too sure, but I believe that Brady has a better ratio.

But yea, Garrard doesn't make too many mistakes. I really don't like his running style though. He's fast and he can cut direction and find open routes, but he really extends the ball far away from his body. He's prone to fumbling.
