Shandra spun to the voice and she watched as, to her eyes, a golden wave sent a vase to the floor. Shandra bit her lip in regret, a habit that she knew she probably did way too much, as she got up from her spot.
"Hello..." she said, "I'm sorry about the vase...I oh, I'm sorry...do you know where the cleaning supplies are?"

The vase hit the floor, delicate glass shattering into a myriad of different sized, sharp pieces. Becca jumped back, boots crunching on broken glass. Narrowed brown eyes focused on Shandra.
"No, I don't," she said softly, stepping backwards from the girl as if she were a dangerous explosive slowly ticking.
"I won't bother you anymore," she murmured taking another pair of tiny steps backwards, glass crunching beneath her boots. She glanced down, trying to avoid the glass before her gaze returned, fixed on Shandra.

Conner greeted the young 'Becca with a curt nod but whipped his head around at the sound of broken glass. It seemed Shandra had been spooked by the new arrival.
At the mention of cleaning supplies he bent down and rummaged around in the cupboard under the sink until he found the dustpan and brush and tossed it on to the table closer to Shandra.
"Don't worry about the mess hen, that won't be the worst you see." He said then turned to 'Becca "Calm down 'Becca, there's nothing to get excited about. This stuff happens from time to time." He told the new arrival in an attempt to calm her Christ my people skills suck.

"I'm sorry," Shandra apologized quietly, "You...you surprised me...I'm sorry..."
She accepted the supplies and walked over to where all the shards were. She felt horrible about it. Not only did she break a lovely vase but she spooked a house mate. It seemed like her own personal curse of breaking things hadn't left when she gave up her old life.
She looked up to the girl who was still staring at her and then lowered her eyes, "I'm sorry..."

Becca hesitated, glancing between the unphased Connor and the embarrassed Shandra.
“How’d you do that?” she questioned, inching toward her bag and brushing a shard of broken glass off of it. She then made her way to the table, away from the glass.
She might be a crazy mutant Becca thought. But she makes decent bacon.

Conner felt like sighing but held it in.
"Shandra, there's no need to apologize as I've just said, it happens." He told her. "We all have our off days." At least you'll never have one while trying to run up a wall. he thought to himself and almost shuddered at the memory, a random garbage truck had stopped him from becoming road pizza and forced him to think about getting help. He walk around and began to help Shandra pick up the shards; cupping one hand and depositing what he could grab with the other.

"I...I don't know how to describe it in scientific terms," she started, looking at the girl who had startled her just a moment ago, "But I block things from myself. Senses...things...people...everything. And when I'm startled I tend to break things with something like an extending forcefield I guess..."
She bit her lip as she put the broken fragments in the garbage, "I don't think anyone can see whatever I send out that makes things move, but I can...anyways, My name is Shandra but around here...I think I'd much rather go by Eclipse..."

"Block things?" Becca repeated. "And I thought my thing was weird. Can you control it at all?"
She glanced to the pan of now rather cold food, her stomach growling. She pushed herself up from the chair, careful not to step into the pile of broken glass and made her way to the stove, picking at a piece of sausage.

"Sometimes," she said, "It's easier to control when I keep moving, twitching or something like that. Just as long as I don't fall too far into repetition..."
She tilted her head and blinked slightly, "So what is it that you can do that you had thought to be strange?"

Becca shrugged her shoulders if it were not important then extended her hand toward Shandra as if to shake her hand. She watched her, waiting for her to take her hand.

Shandra looked at the hand that had been offered to her with suspicion. It was a strange gesture to say the least yet seeing as she was the one that asked to know she supposed she should go along. She placed her pale hand into the one that was offered towards her.

As Shadra's hand neared Becca's, a spark of electricity snapped between them. The sound of the pop more shocking than the tingle of pain. Becca lowered her hand and shrugged again.
"Quite safe, really," she said. "Sometimes I can blow a light out but that's pretty harmless too. More inconvenient."

"Yes, that would be," murmured Shandra in agreement as she slowly moved her hand back.
She looked up and smiled slightly, casting a look back to the guy that had fallen so quiet for the past few moments. She looked back to the girl and her smile turned to one of amusement.
"Well at least you know if you were to be struck by lightning you have a high chance of living..."

"Woot, soup," David exclaimed, taking one of the bowls that Lizz had retrieved for them, and waited for Morgan to spoon some of the soup pot's contents into it.
"Enjoy," Morgan said, ladling the broth into the bowl. "Markus, get your bowl, you're next," he said, once David was out of the way. "So, any plans for today?" Morgan added to nobody in particular.

"You think I would?" she questioned, the idea never striking her before. "Wish it was something different though, ya know?"
She paused, watching Shandra. A moment passed and it was clear the idea did not pass between the girls. Neither seemed to be telepaths.
"Lightning strikes, those are pretty rare. I'd rather know I could be hit by a car or something and live," she said with a nod. "That'd be more useful."
She finished the cold bacon and sausage she stole from the pan and stood, grabbing her bag.
"I think I'm going to find a room."
