"Then we'd best be getting you some heavy boots!" Darque laughed. Absently he reached into his back pocket and fished out a folded piece of paper. He opened it, turned it over, shrugged and but it back into his pocket.

Alice asked her questions and didn't get any answers. Typical. The girl ended up calling a maid, or a butler, or something like that, and Alice ended up running. So much for her cozy lil' ally.

But, how did I do that? Putting a hole in a wall with a rock isn't a very common thing if you ask me. Alice thought as she walked along the sidewalk, moving with the crowd. It was already almost eight, and Alice didn't know why there would be a crowd, but she had got away from the evil person chasing her, or was it her that was the evil one? Whatever. On with her thoughts!

Maybe I should try something like that again. She let out an evil sounding snicker, Naw, it would be too much trouble if I have to run again. Speaking of which, I think I might want to take some stuff soon. I still didn't get to count my money though.

She continued thinking in circles, until she found herself alone. There wasn't a crowd, and it hadn't been more than a few minutes after eight. All the stands selling various things were gone, the sidewalk was empty, except for Alice, and the lights in the buildings around her were out. It almost looked as if they had all abandoned her. Not that they had any connection with her at all, but still. She darted into the nearest ally, and huddled into a corner.

Noelle smiled, trying to appear a love struck teenager to people passing by. As soon as people looked away, she returned to her normal face. "The inn, I need to get my things, quit my job, and take a some more money out of the-" She paused. "actually, you don't need to know where I get my money."

Noelle smiled. "Not if I can help it. I've been doing this for ten years, and only been caught twice. You've been caught thrice."

This is probably bad for a thief, but Alice was afraid to be by herself. It seemed even the rats were avoiding her. Not the best thing for a building confidence in a young woman.

Am I still in the same town? Theres no way I walked all the way to the next one. Alice started crying. She didn't know where she was, and despite her being alone-ish for half of her life, she still was near crowds of people all the time. And also, she was still a 12 year old girl. She had raised herself for the past 6 years, and now she was huddled into a corner like a lost ball that a kid left in the park.

"Hello, little girl." Said a voice behind her. Was that possible? She was in a corner after all. Back against two solid brick walls and all.
"I'm not a little girl. I'm a full grown woman!" Alice jumped up and turned around all in one motion.
"Oh, so you are. Curled up in a little ball, it was hard to see your womanly features." Said the voice, still behind Alice. She folded her arms around her small chest, and blushed.
"Where are you?" She asked, flustered.
"Right here!" A boy, about half a foot taller than Alice, stepped out from behind her. He held up a piece of paper and smiled. His teeth were a nasty shade of yellow, and were obviously crooked. His clothing was drab, just like all the other poor people in the town.
"What's that?" Alice pretended to be curious.
"A reward poster. It has a picture and everything. You know who it's for?"
"Probably me."
"Howed you guess?"
"A woman named Susan told me about it, and I stole her wallet and ran off." Alice spat back, letting out a bit too much information than necessary.
"Oh? She got here before me? Whatever. Why don't you show me exactly how you took her wallet?"
"The same way I took yours, duh." Alice held up an expensive looking wallet.
"How? What the hell?"

"You make it sound like I can't handle it. Which I can So back off." Alice suddenly sounded mean. She turned her head to the one who had just walked into the ally, and she looked pissed.

"Thank you so very much." Alice said, smiling, as she grabbed the man who wanted her so called, 'bounty', by the wrist, and flung him over her shoulder. Again, something that shouldn't of been possible for an 12 year old girl. Just like the rock incident, and the time at the inn when she pushed the two 200 pound men aside. Retarded super strength. Alice had super strength? Why the frick did she have super strength?
